Creative project on the topic “Planning a kitchen-dining room” Completed by: student of the 5th “c” class of the MBOU “Gymnasium 38” Katya Ivanova. Checked by: technology teacher Ivanova A.S. Dzerzhinsk 2016

1. Problem situation Quite recently, my parents renovated our kitchen. I like the result: it turned out beautiful and comfortable. I gained new knowledge in technology classes at school, and now I want to use it to present our kitchen, explore and show how we can arrange the layout and equipment. To successfully transform into a designer, I leafed through my dad’s kitchen design magazines and read information on the Internet. 2. The goal of the project is to develop a kitchen layout, select for it necessary equipment and household electrical appliances. 3. Project Objectives 1. With the help of parents, measure and write down the dimensions of the kitchen. 2. Draw a kitchen plan on graph paper at scale 1: Use my research to determine the household kitchen appliance needs of the family. 4. Check whether the planning resulted in a small working triangle. After all, I want my mother to be comfortable cooking and not to get tired. Yes, and I will help adults in the kitchen. 4. Research I decided to start my research with an overview of what types of kitchens exist according to their intended purpose. Kitchen-dining room The kitchen-dining room is one room that combines the functions of two rooms, each of which has its own characteristics. In order for such a combined room to be comfortable and cozy, a carefully thought-out project is needed. Often in this case, the kitchen is combined with the room next to it by destroying the partition wall.

Regardless of the size of the room, you need to zone the kitchen-dining room, that is, separate the working part of the room from the dining room. This can be done using different colors of walls, floors, ceilings, lighting and other ways. The photo shows an example of zoning a kitchen using a carpet. The finishing materials used in both areas should be different. After all, high temperatures and high humidity are possible in the kitchen area, so it is better to use moisture-resistant and practical materials, for example, washable wallpaper, ceramic tiles. And in the design of the dining area, you can use ordinary materials, as for residential premises. For example, wooden floors, vinyl wallpaper, parquet or laminate, suspended ceilings. You also need to choose the right furniture for the kitchen-dining room and decorative items. To dinner Zone has become light, you can make French windows that extend from floor to ceiling. Choose beautiful light curtains or special stylish blinds for the windows. The walls can be decorated with paintings, and tall vases can be placed on the floor along the walls. Kitchen-living room Kitchen-living room is when the kitchen, dining room and living room are located in the same room, but at the same time they are different functional areas. Instead of small rooms, you get one spacious room, and there is the possibility of many design

ideas. It should be taken into account that it is more convenient when the dining room is located closer to the kitchen than the living room. The kitchen-living room project allows you to create a very comfortable room for receiving guests. After finishing dinner, you can sit with your guests by the TV and fireplace, continuing the meeting in comfortable conditions. There is no need to walk around with cooked food and empty dishes during dinner, and it is easier to set the table. You need to remember about the disadvantages of the kitchen-living room. The noise produced by tap water and kitchen appliances can disturb people's rest. Odors from the kitchen can spread throughout the room and penetrate into the upholstery and curtains, so it is important to provide an exhaust hood. Also, if there are few rooms in the apartment, and both children and elderly people live, it may be difficult to be quiet and relax. Working kitchen A working kitchen is usually a small room intended only for cooking and storing food. Such a kitchen does not provide for the placement of upholstered furniture, a dining table, or a fireplace; there is only everything necessary for the housewife to cook comfortably. In the interior of such a kitchen it is better to use bright hues and straight lines to create the illusion of more space. Visual diversity in the interior working kitchen can be achieved using all kinds of compact multifunctional equipment.

Kitchen niche A kitchen niche is a space for cooking, not separated on all sides by walls, but arranged directly in the living room or other room. In such a kitchen there is no dining area, but there must be forced ventilation and a stove. This kitchen layout allows you to save space and make small apartments more spacious. It is often designed in one-room apartments, so as not to waste space on the layout of two living and kitchen spaces. The area of such a corner should be at least 5 m2, which is exactly what is needed to accommodate everything needed for cooking.

The advantage of a niche kitchen is that it may not have sunlight. That is, it can be placed in a corridor or closet without worrying about installing transparent partitions. Tiny kitchen in the photo it occupies a place in a small niche. It managed to fit a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave and sink. Placing cabinets under the ceiling saved space. Depending on the aspect ratio of the kitchen and the personal preferences of the residents, you can choose suitable option design for your kitchen. Let's look at the types kitchen layouts in order. Linear layout ideal for a narrow kitchen, in which appliances and cabinets are installed against one wall. The preferred sequence of their placement: storage space - refrigerator, sink, work area of the countertop for cutting, stove. Dinner table can be installed on the opposite side. Two-line layout good decision for a walk-through kitchen, which allows you to turn an obvious disadvantage into an advantage. Also, this layout is an excellent solution when there are two housewives in the family. They will be able to be in the kitchen at the same time and not interfere with each other. It is better to place the stove and sink on one wall, and the refrigerator on the other. This is a safer option; no one will get burned when moving hot dishes from one table to another.

Corner kitchen is very convenient option layouts, because allows you to create a work area in the corner, thereby providing convenient access to any of its elements. This option is suitable for almost any room, even for a small or walk-through kitchen. If the kitchen has big sizes, then the sink, stove, and refrigerator should be placed closer to each other, leaving a working cutting area of the countertop between them. In a U-shaped kitchen, the units are installed along three free walls. Suitable only for wide rooms; compressed sizes become uncomfortable and cramped. In such a kitchen there is usually a lot of space for storing dishes and food. In a G-shaped kitchen, the only difference from the previous version is that here kitchen set It occupies all the free space near the walls, and opens only in the door area.

An island kitchen is an excellent option for creating sophisticated interiors. This kitchen layout is only suitable for a large room. This is a kitchen of any layout with an “island” in the center of the room. It can have a work surface that also includes a sink or stove. A peninsula kitchen is any of the kitchen layout options with an additional outlet of either a work surface or a cabinet with a sink or stove. This is usually the overhang that separates the kitchen from the dining room. It can also be used as a bar counter or serving table. 5. What household appliances are in our kitchen? 1. Refrigerator. It is absolutely necessary, because without it, food will spoil before we eat it. We have a two-chamber one. 2. Freezer. We store fish, meat and poultry in it, and we also freeze fresh berries for the winter. 3. Dishwasher. Of course, you can live without it, but thanks to it, mom and I don’t waste time washing dishes, but can spend this time with our family. 4. Induction hob built into the countertop. There is an electromagnetic coil hidden inside, which immediately heats the dishes and not the hob, so I am not afraid of getting burned.

5. Microwave built into the cabinet. It is indispensable when food has already cooled down and needs to be reheated quickly. We also cook in it sometimes. 6. Electric oven, hidden in the closet. My mother and I regularly bake delicious pies, pies and cookies in it. 7. Steamer. Due to the fact that steam penetrates deep into the food, food cooks faster and turns out healthier, without losing useful properties. 8. Coffee machine. My parents love to make real coffee from beans in it. I'm indifferent to it, but I like to smell coffee in the morning. 9. Multicooker. It is so easy to use that even I can cook soups or bake pies in it. The main thing is to maintain the proportion of ingredients. You can load everything into it, and it will be cooked in an hour. 10. Kettle. We love to have family tea parties, and sometimes we get together with friends over a cup of aromatic tea. 11. Electric meat grinder. Mom makes homemade meat and fish cutlets with her help. 12. Bread maker. It gives us the opportunity to bake fragrant bread ourselves. 13. Toaster. Every morning you can fry slices of bread in it until golden brown. 14. Also in our kitchen there are such small appliances as: a yogurt maker, an electric waffle iron, a blender and a mixer, each of them useful in their own way. 6. History of the creation of the refrigerator Food storage rooms filled with ice appeared many thousands of years ago. For Emperor Nero, servants prepared snow and ice from frozen reservoirs. For a long time, Southern Europe did not even realize that snow and ice could be beneficial for the economy. Beginning in the 18th century, porcelain dishes were filled with bottles of wine and crushed ice was placed on top. This refrigerator was served directly to the table. In Russia, glaciers were widely used, which were a log house dug into the ground, filled with a large amount of snow and ice.

In 1803, American entrepreneur Thomas Moore, supplying Washington butter, made a semblance of a refrigerator with my own hands. He needed thin sheets steel from which the container was made. Wrapped in rabbit skins, it was placed in a special tub made from cedar staves and then covered with ice. First household electric refrigerator was created in 1913. Like industrial refrigerators, it worked using the principle heat pump. The photo shows an early electric refrigerator, with a cylindrical heat exchanger on top. In 1951, the ZIS automobile plant produced the first batch of the famous Moscow refrigerators. They were different high quality manufacturing and durability, many refrigerators continue to work today, but this was achieved at the cost of high labor-intensive manufacturing and consumption large quantity metal 7. Description of the color scheme of our kitchen The windows of our kitchen face the west side, but we made a window from floor to ceiling and the entire width of the wall, so the room is bright and sunny in the afternoon. The kitchen is designed in a minimalist design style, that is, there are no unnecessary small parts, but despite this, it is quite cozy. We used warm shades of beige, cream and brown. The geometry and straight lines are maintained, everything looks harmonious, stylish and modern. There is enough space in it, and my mother and I diligently keep it clean and comfortable. The table and part of the kitchen are made of American walnut, and the floor is cork.

8. Designing a kitchen using a computer My parents helped me measure the required dimensions of the kitchen, I wrote them down and drew a kitchen plan on graph paper on a scale of 1:25. Then in a special program we selected suitable furniture and equipment taking into account our sizes. We came up with a plan and general form kitchens.

Then we brought our design ideas to life, and now our real kitchen corresponds to the originally conceived project. 9. Self-assessment and evaluation I really enjoyed working on the project. I learned a lot about kitchen layout and equipment, and got the opportunity to feel like a designer. Maybe I will choose this profession in the future. Sources of information used in the implementation of the project 1. Textbook “Technology. Technology of housekeeping" for 5th grade students. N.V. Sinitsa, V.D. Simonenko. 2. Internet resources. 3. Magazines about kitchen interiors.
