Sheathe the slopes of the front door. Installing plastic slopes with your own hands: options and installation methods. Installation technology without using a frame: plastering

After installing the new iron front door, in an apartment, all the pleasant impressions about it can immediately dissipate if slopes are not made from inside the apartment. Only they can say that the stage of repair work is completely completed.

To make them perfect, specialists are most often invited. On the other hand, you can do them yourself if you first study all the tips and recommendations.

What are door slopes?

The slopes are small area walls located around the door frame (outside and inside it).

IN last years their arrangement is mandatory, because they not only decorate the overall appearance of the door space, but also serve as the beginning of the overall design of the corridor or rooms.

Types of finishing materials

By selecting the right material, we can safely say that success awaits you in the process of finishing the slopes. If you are a beginner builder or do not have a lot of time and money, do not take on methods that require really significant skills and experience.

To avoid mistakes, you need to know what materials suitable for creating beautiful space around the front door.

MDF panels

MDF panels are a popular material that is perfect for these purposes. As a result variety of colors, panels can be used to decorate slopes in almost any interior.

Installation occurs using conventional or liquid nails, as well as self-tapping screws, corners or casing are applied around the perimeter.

Among positive properties The following should be noted:

  • able to withstand small impacts and damage;
  • have an attractive appearance;
  • easy to install by one person, do not require professional help;
  • they resemble various types of wood, which makes the appearance of the slopes visually expensive and sophisticated;
  • have good noise insulation properties.

The disadvantages of the panels are that they cannot withstand scratches and strong impacts, as well as can change their appearance and structure, if they are installed in rooms with high humidity (for example, baths and saunas).

In addition, being exposed various contaminants, require careful care, otherwise it will be almost impossible to wash them.

Decorative stone tiles attached to a special solution. Interior decoration decorative tiles looks interesting and expensive.

The advantages include:

  • has a lower cost than a natural stone;
  • is light in weight;
  • does not require special care;
  • thanks to the wide color scheme can imitate the appearance of any stone;
  • able to withstand significant temperature fluctuations;
  • resistant to moisture.

Main The disadvantage is the fragility of the material. In rare cases, the size of the opening will coincide with the size of the tile, so its installation almost always requires the ability to correctly and accurately cut the tile to avoid cracking.

If you choose a heavy tile, there is a possibility that it will lag on the upper part of the slope, creating danger for human life and health.

Laminate

Another finishing option door slopes- this is a laminate material has the following advantages:

  • good indicator of strength;
  • shelf life can be up to 15 years;
  • a wide selection of colors allows you to choose the one that suits each specific room;
  • have excellent thermal insulation characteristics;
  • easy to wash and clean from various contaminants;
  • can be easily attached to them decorative elements(using regular glue).

Among the disadvantages, it can be noted that this type of finishing material poorly resistant to moisture and temperature changes. As a result, over time it may change its appearance and initial technical characteristics.

If you plan to install laminate flooring on a frame, then you need to be prepared for the fact that the doorway will become smaller.

Plastic

Plastic trim is well suited for a doorway only because you don’t need to spend a lot of money to purchase it, it is lightweight, can imitate various textures and materials, and is also easy to care for.

One of the disadvantages that can be noted is its fragility, because even with the slightest impact and effort, it simply deforms and breaks.

Decorative rock

Decorative stone is a material with a huge number of positive properties. Decorative stone finishing quite expensive compared to other materials, but also looks more luxurious in the interior, as shown in the photo.

Advantages:

  • completely environmentally friendly material;
  • installation does not require a perfectly flat surface;
  • stand up well high temperatures, a large number of moisture;
  • unlike natural stone, it has significantly less weight;
  • wonderful appearance, variety of textures allows you to satisfy the tastes and requirements of any buyer;
  • can be mounted in a doorway of any shape and size;
  • does not burn, retains heat well in the room;
  • It washes well and does not absorb foreign odors.

Of the disadvantages of decorative stone, the only thing known is that it is not recommended to use it for exterior finishing doors, which immediately go out onto the street.

Under the influence of very low temperatures V very coldy the material may deteriorate slightly.

Plaster

Plaster is often used to create doorways. This is one of economical options finishing, with the help of plaster, if necessary, you can not only seal the slopes but also level them.

It has the following advantages:

  • perfectly insulates living space;
  • cleans well from dirt;
  • has high strength;
  • thanks to in various ways applied to the surface, you can give the slopes a unique appearance;
  • long shelf life.

Main stages of drywall installation:

  1. Having measured the size of the side slope, cut a blank from a sheet of plasterboard, which must necessarily be 1 cm larger in width. If this is not done, then the sheet will not be able to be inserted into the gap between the opening and the box.
  2. Having made a recess with a knife in the mounting foam passing between the door frame and the opening, insert the side cut sheet into it. Slightly bending it on the other side, use a gun to apply polyurethane foam along the entire length.
  3. Press the material well against the wall. Make sure there are no distortions. The sheet must be positioned strictly vertically. Fill all cracks with foam.
  4. Carrying out all the above steps, secure the second vertical slope in the same way.
  5. Measure top part opening and from a sheet of plasterboard cut a sheet of identical length, which will be 1 cm larger in width (for the same purposes as the side sections).
  6. Make a recess in the polyurethane foam into which to place the resulting piece of material. Use a level to check the correct angles between the side and upper sections of the slope.
  7. Glue the sheet with foam, pressing it well to the base of the wall.
  8. After waiting completely dry polyurethane foam(this will take 1 day) you can start applying finishing materials to the drywall.

This video shows step by step how to finish the slopes with your own hands.

How to apply?

Design of slopes – an important stage in the entire work of creating a doorway. You need to start by creating corners on the drywall using putty.

This should be done this way:

  1. Using a spatula, apply a small layer of putty to the corner.
  2. After waiting for it to dry completely, we apply serpyanka, which is covered with another layer of putty.
  3. When the second layer is completely dry, finishing putty is thinly applied to the corners. In this case, any unevenness must be avoided.

If you plan to paint such slopes, then the entire surface of the drywall must also be plastered twice. In the event that you complete renovation work There will be wallpaper, the sheets may not be further processed.

Creating beautiful door slopes is not a very difficult job that any man can do, without resorting to outside help. The main thing is to study everything first necessary recommendations, consult with a specialist and purchase those materials that will be simple and easy to work with.

IN modern design apartments and houses, door slopes are not just a neat space around the door or in an empty doorway. Modern door slopes are a real work of art, 100% reflecting the character and characteristics of the owner of the apartment. That is why we decided to talk in our article about how to choose and make beautiful and original door slopes with your own hands.

Door slope: definition and functions

Door slopes- these are parts of the wall on both sides of the door frame (external and internal door slopes), if it is planned to install a door frame and door, or components of the doorway (upper, right and left door slopes), in cases where the door is not installed.

Door slopes, until recently, performed quite well specific task: with the help of door slopes, a doorway that was damaged during installation or dismantling of the door frame was strengthened and improved.

But, modern design ideas and the variety of finishing materials have given impetus to the use of door slopes in a new way. Now the door slope easily copes with such a task as decorating the space of not only the doorway, but also the apartment as a whole.

Door slope device

What do you need to know before you get ready to make door slopes with your own hands?

The fact that in its structure the door slope resembles a layer cake, the layers in which must go strictly in order in order to obtain a high-quality result.

1st layer - "rough", its components:

A primer that is applied to the previously cleaned surface of the doorway wall;

Note: sometimes, in order to insulate the door slopes of the entrance doors, a layer of foam plastic is laid before plastering the walls.

Layer of plaster or piece moisture-resistant plasterboard, of the required size, glued to the plaster (both options require the use of a level or beacons, in the case of slopes made of plaster, since door slopes must be smooth);

Note: plasterboard door slopes are simpler and faster, affordable way prepare the surface of the door slope for its subsequent finishing; they are more often used when arranging interior doorways. But plastering door slopes is a more labor-intensive and time-consuming option, requiring experience and skill. It is used more often when arranging external door slopes of entrance doors or doorways exposed to high humidity (balcony doors) for subsequent painting.

Installation of the reinforcing angle on external corners door slope followed by puttying and cleaning the surface of the slope.

Primer.

Note: using a frame instead of gluing drywall to plaster when constructing slopes from drywall is acceptable.

2 - layer: "finishing"" - can be made from absolutely any material: from simple painting to the use of finishing types such as, for example, laying mosaics and gluing cork covering to the surface of the door slope.

At the same time, each specific finishing coat fasten in your own way, the most suitable for this.

Door slopes: types

Decorative door slopes can be classified based on the materials used in their finishing.

Painted door slopes

Door slopes covered with wallpaper

Laminate door slopes

Door slopes made of MDF

Door slopes from artificial stone

Door slopes made of ceramic tiles/mosaics

Mirror door slopes

Door slopes made of cork

In general, the choice of material for finishing door slopes depends on imagination and the ability to use it correctly!

Finishing door slopes: features

Let us consider in detail the most popular design options for door slopes due to accessibility, functionality and originality.

Painted door slopes- this is the simplest and fastest, although not the most original way arrangement of door slopes.

But, on the other hand, such a slope can always be updated or changed by using a primer and another coating option.

Finishing door slopes with stone widely used both in private homes and city apartments. The artificial stone is glued to the pre-prepared slope surface with artificial stone glue.

The pattern/pattern is selected in advance, as is the installation method: without seams or with them. If the latter are present, it is necessary to joint them. The final touch to finishing a door slope made of artificial stone is to cover it with a layer of special protective varnish.

Laminate and MDF slopes- they are mounted, in principle, in the same way: marking and cutting are carried out until the panels are obtained required sizes, the corners are joined, and then everything is mounted with glue (liquid nails).

It is worth noting that MDF door slopes are more resistant to humidity and temperature changes than similar laminate door slopes.

When the entrance door to a house is installed, many people have a question about how to finish the slopes of the entrance door after installing the iron doors.

This kind of work can be done different methods, depending on the style and interior.

Often, entrance door slopes require repair and replacement not only after the doors are installed, but also in old houses.

The material will discuss in detail the methods of designing slopes, as well as the procedure for doing it with your own hands.

Do-it-yourself front door slopes - what to make from?

Often the problem arises if the house is panel or brick and the building was erected in the Soviet Union. You can veneer a slope in an apartment or house using different methods, among which there are 11 methods. Some of them are used to decorate the outside of the entrance, and some materials are suitable for interior work.

Thanks to modern materials The choice for the client is very large and the price of the slope will be different, depending on the chosen material. Now we need to become more familiar with the characteristics of materials and their application:

Material: Description:
Drywall: GCR can level the surface, the material is in demand, but sealing slopes will be a labor-intensive process. After installation, you need to plaster the material and you can paint it, glue wallpaper, or lay artificial stone.
Plaster: It is better to have a master do the plastering. At the end of the preparation, it will be possible to paint the finished slope, put decorative rock, use boards or tiles for cladding.
Decorative plaster: It is applied to plastered slopes; the material is textured, so the surface must be smooth. Great for outdoor use.
MDF: Processing of slopes and metal doors carried out quickly and inexpensively. Used for a narrow slope, you can extend the door and use additional sound insulation between the panel and the door.
Laminate: The material is similar to MDF, but is used even if the slope is wide.
Tree: Suitable for interior work, especially if the hallway is lined with wood. You can carry out the installation yourself, you can sew up the doors themselves with wood, but in addition you need to use antifungal agents and varnish. It is possible to insulate doors and slopes.
Chipboard: The material is inexpensive, rarely used and only if the slopes are very large. The material is short-lived and for long-term use it is better to use laminated chipboard with an additional film; such material does not need to be laminated; it comes with lamination from the factory.
Dobor: Perfect if the entrance has two doors. In this case, one material is used for doors and slopes. The price segment is average, installation is easy.
PVC panels: It is not difficult to design the slopes of PVC entrance doors, but the appearance will be simple, but the material is practical and durable. Vinyl material It is not afraid of moisture, it is easy to care for, and can be used outside.
Stone: Not fashionable, but a decent option and practical for entrance doors. You can use natural stone, as well as decorative stone - imitation of natural raw materials.
Tile: A non-standard choice for slopes, it may look strange, but it is durable and practical.

Important! Knowing the main points of how to decorate slopes in an apartment or house, you need to make a choice and you can begin the work that will be discussed below. It is worth noting that cork can be used after preliminary plastering. It looks very beautiful; sandwich panels, bricks and other possible finishing materials are also often used.

DIY slope near the doors (video)

It is difficult to show detailed instructions on finishing door slopes in a photo, so you can watch the master’s work in the video:

External slopes of the entrance door

After installing the doors, you will need to carefully seal all the joints and gaps between the door frame and the walls. Ideal for this polyurethane foam. When it dries, the remains must be cut off and checked for leaks; to do this, close the doors and hold a lit match or lighter around the perimeter. If the flame moves, it means you need to use the mounting material again.

Next, a platband is placed on both sides and at the top. Platbands should be selected according to the color and design of the door. If the door is installed with a recess, the slope must be sealed. WITH outside is usually used cement mortar, but before covering the wall with it, it is cleaned of dirt and dust.

In principle, you can trim the slope and finish it different materials, for example, use “Rodband” and other mixtures. Finishing may also be different. For example, the slope can be painted, clapboard can be used, and if the door was installed not in a private house, but in an apartment where the entrance is heated, then it is recommended to use laminate or plastic.

The inside of the front door can also be decorated with different materials and is most often used:

  1. Drywall.
  2. tree or wood fiber material(MDF).
  3. Plastic material (lining).
  4. Plaster.

Wooden slope is the most popular type of finishing because it is natural and can fit perfectly into any design. But the disadvantage of the material is the cost, and depending on the temperature and other factors, the wood will deteriorate over time and must be restored.

It's easy and cheap to seal the slope with plaster. Even a beginner can plaster the surface, after which the slope can be painted in any desired color. If the door slope is plastered, then, if desired, at any time it will be possible to repaint it and even finish it with other materials.

Advice! Plastic is rarely used for front door slopes; as a rule, siding is used when installing PVC doors. Drywall is often used for door slopes, which is used to simply level the surfaces, after which it is plastered and painted or lathed with other materials.

If the house is private, people live in it only in the summer and spring, and the door is steel, then you can only decorate the slopes inside, and not touch the door itself. Upholstery in this case is not necessary. But if you live in the house permanently, then not only the door slopes are decorated, but also the old one is replaced or new material is installed as upholstery. The selection of material depends on personal preferences; you can use leatherette or hard materials, between which additional insulation can be laid.

Stages of installing entrance door slopes

The installation of slopes is carried out in order to give beautiful view input or output, in addition, this method allows you to fix door frame, you can install additional sound insulation or insulation so that the cold does not come in from the street. The method of design depends on each person; you can choose a suture or seamless method. The main thing is to choose the material and only then move on to working with your own hands.

Initially, it is better to use cement in order to seal the holes, give density and sealing at the proper level. After this, further finishing can be carried out.

Preparatory stage

Preparation is a very important process, which will be similar for any method. It is important to do everything correctly so that deformation of the slopes does not occur in the future. Initially, the steel entrance and its box are sealed with film to prevent dust from settling and causing damage. Then it is necessary to dismantle the protruding parts and foam that will interfere with the installation of the frame.

When everything is cleaned and removed from dirt and dust, you need to treat the walls with a primer and wait as long as indicated in the instructions. Right choice for primer – deep penetration mixtures. At this stage, you can lay the wiring for the light or switch. The preparation will be completed at this point, and you can proceed directly to the installation work.

Installation of door slopes

The corner slope can be installed using a frame or installing the trim with mortar or glue. It is more difficult to work with the frame, so below we will describe it step by step. this process. For the frame, wooden slats or a metal profile are suitable. You can install the frame on dowels; the slats are fastened along the entire perimeter of the opening, two slats on both sides, as shown in the photo:

To strengthen the slope, several slats are mounted in parallel; they can be installed at the lower, upper and middle points. If drywall is used, then it is simply attached to the profile with self-tapping screws around the perimeter, recessing the cap, and the space between the wall and the gypsum board can be filled with insulation. Installed on the edges of the material perforated corner, and the joints must be sealed with sickle tape. Next, everything is puttied and smoothed with sandpaper. At the very end, the dust is removed and finishing is carried out.

If MDF is used, then installation on the frame should be carried out with small nails or self-tapping screws. Corners and fastening elements are covered with platbands. The laminate is very easy to install, the first lamella is carefully fastened with nails directly into the groove, and the rest are installed in the lock. The last plank must also be attached.

Sealing entrance door slopes with plaster

Before carrying out work, it is necessary to cover all parts that may become dirty. After preparing the jamb and priming it, the soil has dried, profiles are installed to facilitate the alignment of the walls. The beacons are fastened with a plaster solution. To install, you need to make “holes” of the solution in 3 places of the beacons, using a level to set the plane.

When the solution is solid, you need to start plastering; you can use cement or other mixtures. You just need to cover the surface of the wall with them and align everything with the beacons, applying the rule. When the mixture dries, in about a day, you should putty the surface of the walls using starting and finishing mixture. For perfect evenness, grouting is done with a mesh or sandpaper. The slope for the front door is prepared and the required finishing material is applied.

Slopes for entrance doors - combination of materials

If the doors are made of iron, then it is recommended to further refine them. You can seal them using dermantine or leatherette. If the house is countryside, it is recommended to use wood material, which will fill the interior with warmth and the right atmosphere. In addition, the door itself and the slopes can be sealed MDF panels, it will be beautiful and relatively inexpensive, especially since the panels will be easy to install.

Slopes in the hallway are combined with different materials, for example, the opening itself can be made of plasterboard, making it dark so that dust and dirt are not visible, but the door trim can be made of wood, chipboard or MDF. It is recommended to additionally set the threshold in the color of the opening, and give original look will allow telescopic frame. It is better to install a decorative one at the corner plastic corner, which can close the cracks. Its installation is carried out using sealant.

It is recommended to use wenge color for openings, but if the interior is made in light colors, That suitable color bleached oak. Reading any review, carrying out the work and covering the doors with your own hands is not difficult and takes a maximum of a couple of days, of course, if you do not use tiled material and mixtures that take a long time to dry. The main thing is to take your time and do everything carefully; you can use the recommendations from the article to help. Having made the entrance door slope correctly using the right combination materials, even the Khrushchev building will be transformed.

Home is a place where everything should be perfect. Thoughtful finishing of the slopes of interior doors is a small detail that can both advantageously emphasize the advantages of the interior and irrevocably ruin even the most thoughtful design of the room.

Slopes for interior doors

Finishing is carried out different sizes and shapes, but it is important to remember that the door and jamb trim should match. Perfect option, when the material from which it is made door leaf and jambs, similar to the surface of slopes. For example, they often use a self-adhesive type of paper that matches the texture and color of the door.

What are the options for slopes: material, installation

The slope is that part of the opening that is not occupied by the door frame. In fact, this is an untreated surface that does not represent a serious flaw, but does not have an aesthetic appearance. To make the door group more complete and harmonious, fastening or installation is carried out various materials on the slopes.

Depending on the intended operating conditions, use:

  • plaster;
  • overhead panels;
  • self-adhesive film;
  • tree.

Each method has a number of its own disadvantages and advantages, which will be mentioned later. At the same time, they also take into account how often the surface will be subject to mechanical loads - this will help to select the appropriate material.

The installation of slopes itself occurs in two ways:

  1. Glue. It uses glue or other special solutions. In this case, the surface for the material must be ideal.
  2. Frame. A simple method in terms of wall alignment. Installation begins with the erection of metal or wooden frame, onto which the selected material is attached.

The quick method is the frame method, since the adhesive method involves previous processing of the wall. In addition, this option is easy to dismantle and provides additional heat and sound insulation.

The glue method is demanding both on the quality and evenness of the wall, and on the skill of the craftsman. Glue and other solutions can stain the door leaf. For this reason, film is a necessary element during the work process.

Classic version design implies a simple plastered opening, sometimes painted to match the color of the interior. If done correctly, this option will have long term operation, and will not present surprises in the form of mold or mildew.

To interior doors If you have acquired such slopes, use the following algorithm:

  1. Preparation. The door must be protected from possible damage. Thick film is suitable for these purposes.
  2. Level the opening as much as possible. Remove protrusions and protruding bricks; it is recommended to smooth out sharp chips or parts.
  3. Prime. For this stage, a special deep penetration primer with an antifungal effect is used. This will prevent mold from appearing in the future.
  4. Secure the guides. Metal profiles are used for these purposes. Depending on the desired shape of the opening, they can be fastened either strictly parallel to each other (straight slope) or with a slight difference (oblique slope).
  5. Alignment. For this you will need special solutions. It is recommended to add a primer with an antifungal effect to them. The starting solution was applied with a spatula to the entire surface, leveling it according to the level of the guides.
  6. Final alignment. After the initial leveling is completed, a primer and finishing putty are applied. In this case, all irregularities that arise during the process are leveled out.

After everything is ready, you can safely attach the material to the wall.

Using self-adhesive film

A simple and least expensive finishing method is to use self-adhesive film. This is a special type of finish, installing which you do not need to use adhesives. If you don’t have time for finishing, self-adhesive film will do. In addition, the self-adhesive type of film is also purchased for financial reasons. It will allow you to save some money on finishing work.

Due to wide choice color palette and design, you can choose a self-adhesive version of the film that suits your interior. The advantage of this material is its plasticity and ease of use.

During the gluing process, constantly level the surface so that there are no air bubbles or folds on the self-adhesive film. Otherwise, it will not be possible to install the self-adhesive material properly. In this case, the door itself will look unpresentable.

Overlay panels for slopes

Plastering a wall is a self-sufficient way to decorate a doorway, as well as necessary stage before attaching materials with glue.

This method received wide application, since it only requires fairly smooth walls. Talking about glue method, it is worth mentioning that the choice of material must be taken seriously.

So, for example, it is important to recall that the use of wallpaper, tiles or laminate implies different adhesive compositions. The surface must be level so that as much as possible big square the overlay panels were adjacent to it.

There are two methods for fastening: adhesive and frame.

Frame involves creating a frame from beams or metal profiles, onto which the selected material is attached. This method has several advantages:

  • easy to install;
  • quickly dismantled;
  • it is possible to create additional sound and heat insulation;
  • fast in time;
  • the surface does not have to be perfectly flat.

A properly installed frame will strengthen door structure, and will also help hide wiring or pipes without installing them in the walls.

Before starting work, make sure you have everything you need. In particular, to preserve aesthetic characteristics, the door leaf is covered with a protective shell. More often it is a thick film.

The procedure itself is simple:

  1. Alignment of the wall. Remove debris and obstructive parts.
  2. A frame is created. Based on the required shape, the appropriate material is selected.
  3. Fastening. At this stage, to already finished design The material being attached is MDF, wood, plastic, laminate.

The adhesive method involves applying a solution to the slab and attaching it to the required location.

The door is at risk and requires additional protection.

Wooden slopes

Whatever style the door is made in, wood will highlight its beauty. To secure such material, you will only need a frame method.

The algorithm itself is similar to installing panels, but final stage The primer is used not for walls, but for wood. This will protect the wood from fungus and mold. For reliability, the slopes are treated with varnish.

The disadvantages of this material are its sensitivity to temperature changes. Wooden slopes are installed in rooms where there is no sharp jumps degrees or humidity.

Alternative methods for designing door slopes

How to make original slopes on interior doors is a fairly popular question. However, more often only three are considered classic material for registration, although in fact there are many more of them.

The option stands out decorative brick. Not every craftsman has the necessary installation experience, but if the surface is uneven and has objects protruding from the wall that cannot be removed, then the specificity of decorative brick will come in handy more than ever: it easily changes the shape of the reverse side. Due to this, it can be customized to suit any requirements.

The door can be beneficial if you choose the right matte tiles in natural tones. There is a point to remember: the door leaf should not be combined with glossy or bright tiles. This option will look out of place even in the brightest apartment.

Whatever method you choose, remember that film is required element, since it is this that will protect the door from scratches and other defects.

Installation of entrance doors provides reliability, safety and high-quality protection from heat loss, all kinds of external sounds and noise. If a person is engaged in repairs in own apartment yourself, the next question he will have is how to seal door slopes with his own hands.

No matter how carefully the door is installed, you are unlikely to be able to do without additional finishing of the slopes.

From the outside, doors are most often sealed by craftsmen, or people seal them themselves during the installation process. WITH inside everything is much more complicated. Bare concrete, door fastenings, bricks, and so on will be visible. In order to hide all this disgrace, you will need to make door slopes.

It is worth knowing that the process of finishing the slopes of entrance doors can be done with the help of installers, but not every company is ready to undertake this. Therefore, you will need to make the slopes yourself.

This process is not at all complicated with any method of forming slopes.

Existing methods for making slopes

The main purpose of a plasterboard slope is to give a normal appearance to the doorway and to reliably cover the fastening of the door frame. This will improve the burglary resistance of the entire structure. There are several ways that people can form slopes themselves:

  1. Seal with mortar and plaster.
  2. Glue the finishing material with mortar.
  3. Perform frame sheathing finishing material.

The division should be made specifically according to the method of formation of the slope. This is due to the fact that it will be possible to select a wide variety of materials for cladding. Slopes can be made of plasterboard, laminate, MDF, plastic panels, wooden slats, cellulose panels and many other materials. The choice must be made based on how you plan to secure the front door slope with your own hands.

The most acceptable option in terms of sound insulation and protection is to seal the entire slope with mortar. In addition, the result will be a slope that does not bend and has no voids. However, from a design point of view, this option is somewhat cramped. A good solution might be to design a slope using textured plaster and coloring.

If, in addition to filling with mortar, various finishing materials are installed, it will be possible to achieve absolutely any appearance. Therefore, this option, when executed well, combines the advantages of the first method and has no disadvantages.

It is important to understand that without high-quality slopes, even the most beautiful door capable of losing all its attractiveness.

The last method of sloping an entrance door is based on mounting a finishing material, for example, MDF, plasterboard or plastic, on a pre-constructed frame, which people can make themselves from wooden blocks or a metal profile.

This option may be ideal when constructing slopes using other methods requires a sufficiently large amount of solution to completely fill it. As a result, it will be possible to save some amount Money In addition, you can make the slope more aesthetically pleasing. It is worth knowing that with a frame structure it is much easier to achieve evenness and maintain all levels, and this is very important for visual perception.

Using this option for slopes can be great for installing lighting and switches in or above a doorway. This way it will be possible to illuminate the hallway at the entrance to the apartment itself. In addition, when frame structure It will be much easier to carry out such communications yourself as, for example, the Internet or cable television.

Carrying out all necessary preparatory work

It is worth noting that preparatory stage is the same for any method of slope formation. First of all, you will need to cover the door frame and door leaf with film and masking tape to avoid any damage occurring. It is necessary to cut off all particularly protruding parts that may interfere with the process of installing the frame of future slopes or protrude above the plastering level.

After this, the entire surface is swept and primed. It is important to note that in this case the best option will use a deep penetration primer. It is important to use a surface primer only if the wall is made of any loose material (for example, foam concrete).

At this stage, it is worth considering laying a power cable to connect the switch that will be needed to light the lamps in the hallway. If you plan to use the option with frame fastening slopes, it would be better to postpone laying the wire until the frame is installed.

Carrying out the process of plastering slopes

With a frame structure, it is much easier to achieve evenness and maintain all levels.

You will need to install beacon profiles on the primed and prepared surface. They will make it possible to withdraw flat surface solution that is applied. The beacons can be secured using a solution. In this case, it will be important to use a gypsum solution, because it sets quickly, therefore, you will have to wait much less before proceeding to the next stage.

It is necessary to place small piles of mortar in two or three places along the length of each end, and then install the beacons. With help bubble level you need to adjust the position of the beacons in one plane.

After the solution under the beacons has hardened, it will be possible to begin filling the slopes with cement-sand mortar. Cement and sand must be mixed in a ratio of 1:4, then thoroughly mixed with a mixer attachment, which is inserted into a drill at low speeds. The solution should look like a curd mass. You need to add a little gypsum as needed.

Using a spatula and trowel, you need to apply the solution to the slopes of the doorway and level it along the beacons. The solution will dry for at least a day. After it has dried, you can begin applying the starting and finishing putty. The final dried putty will need to be finally leveled using abrasive mesh. Next you will need to cover the slope with paint.

Formation of slopes with finishing material for mortar

Materials such as drywall, MDF, plastic slopes and so on are strengthened using cement-sand mortar or adhesive composition. After this, the surface is ready: smooth and primed.

Technology of applying adhesive composition to a sheet of drywall.

It would be best to indicate the level of future slopes and provide a good stop for the sheathing material. To do this, you will need to screw the screws into the wall so that their heads form a single plane. In this case, you need to take into account the thickness of the sheathing material, because it will rest on the heads of the screws. Next, it will be possible to fill the entire space of the slope with mortar around the perimeter.

For reasons of economy and reliability, you can use as the first layer cement-sand mortar, with which you can form a layer slightly smaller than the height of the support screws. Next you will need to select adhesive composition, which is suitable for the selected cladding material. The adhesive will need to be applied in an even layer over the surface of the slopes and onto the strips of material on the reverse side.

Next, you need to carefully attach the sheets of material to the slope, and then press them until they rest against the caps of the screws. The levelness of the installation can be checked using a level. If necessary, you can adjust the position if the solution has not yet set.

If there is a gap between the sheathing sheets and the wall, it will need to be sealed with mortar. Next, you can attach the platbands.
