Insulation of the loggia

When performing insulation, attention was paid to the floor, ceiling, and walls that come into contact with the street.

Main stages of insulation:

  • plastic glazing (it is better to do this first);
  • ceiling waterproofing;
  • installation of sheathing and gluing of foam sheets;
  • sealing polyurethane foam all cracks and joints;
  • waterproofing with polyethylene;
  • insulation and floor installation.

Additional work to install the countertop

To install the countertop, we did not forget about one more point - the radiator and the heating riser.   • We installed a heated floor under a laminate (we used a heat-resistant one).

Setting up a table in a combined kitchen

Let's return to the main point of joining the loggia to the kitchen - kitchen table. It turns out that this is the main place. The dining table has always been a focal point in the kitchen.

Before ordering and installing the tabletop, we had to calculate many aspects - height, comfort for the feet, dimensions. After all the careful measurements and calculations, this model was born.

#Advice. The most convenient table shape is a rectangle with rounded corners.
Why not an oval? In this case, the thickness of the wall aggravates the situation; the corners under the table will attract the little finger.

We decided that our tabletop would be made of chipboard. It's economical. Although, there are disadvantages in practicality, because the main thing in the kitchen is moisture resistance. Although we chose moisture-resistant laminated chipboard, it cannot be compared, for example, with the sensational artificial stone. This is the choice of everyone.

The tabletop was installed using slats and foam. To begin with, we prepared the slats different thicknesses, put two on the already former window sill part, the tabletop itself was already laid on them. Afterwards, we spent a long time and carefully adjusting the surface to the level, periodically adding slats and planks somewhere.

“And yet, yes! Smooth!" They boldly frothed free space between the plane of the table and the base with mounting foam, without removing the slats. As time passed, when the foam dried, the bulky rivers were pulled out, and the voids from them were foamed again. We removed 2 slats, left the small slats and trims, cutting off the ends somewhere.

It turned out perfectly smooth and high quality. Now you can start sealing all the corners of the junction with the walls, above and below the table. The joints were sealed with baseboards.

And here is our result! We have good table, there is always room for all dishes. Free space appeared in the kitchen, previously occupied by a table and chairs. Now this is a kitchen - living room, kitchen - room, kitchen - transformer. We are pleased with the work done and the result.
