10 Installation Installation and commissioning of GROHE Blue consists of several important steps. 1. The actual installation. Installation of GROHE Blue components, water hoses and electrical connections. When choosing a mounting location, it is necessary to provide convenient access to the filter (for replacement) and to the electronic unit (for settings, reset when replacing the filter). 2. Rinsing the filter cartridge (at least 2 liters of drained water for a 600l filter, at least 3 liters for a 1500l filter, at least 6 liters for a 3000l filter). 3. Bypass adjustment according to the hardness of the tap water. 4. Calibration of the electronic control unit in accordance with the pressure and hardness of tap water. 10

15 Setting water hardness. The designation of the filter cartridge resource (600l, 1500l and 3000l) is conditional. The actual resource depends on the hardness of the tap water at the installation site. The higher the rigidity, the lower the resource. Data for water of different hardness are given in the table below. When installing, it is optimal to have information about the hardness of the available water. This data can be obtained from Vodokanal or by measurements. Using the table, knowing the water hardness in German (ºdH) or Russian (ºZh) degrees of hardness, we select the recommended bypass adjustment (0-70%). The lower the value on the bypass scale, the softer the water output. And the lesser the resource filter. Water that is too soft will lose its taste. To enhance the taste of the water, you can increase the value on the bypass scale relative to the table. This is a “Top Class” setup! If the hardness is unknown, we perform the “Standard setting”: set the bypass to 50% and during calibration use a volume equal to 1 liter (standard carafe). See next page. 15

16 Calibration of the electronic control unit The electronic control unit counts the total opening time of the filtered water supply handle, thus recalculating the amount of water passing through the filter. First, you need to calibrate (train) the electronic unit, giving it information about how long it takes to reach the calibration volume of water (depending on the pressure in the water supply, etc.). For the calibration procedure of the electronic control unit, we select the calibration volume using the table. During the calibration process, this exact amount of water must pass through the mixer! (In the case of “Standard setting” we use the 1 liter carafe from the kit). Calibration 1. Touch the green and red LEDs on the control unit simultaneously for 5 seconds (the indicator on the handle flashes red). 2. Within 2 minutes, open the handle completely and draw in the calibration volume of water. 3. Close the handle. 4. Confirm by double-tapping one of the LEDs (both LEDs flash 4 times). 16

18 Replacing the filter The filter is designed for additional purification and improvement of water that is already suitable for drinking! The safety of water after filtration is not guaranteed if the source water is not suitable for drinking! The filter should be changed at least once every 6 months!!! For reasons of hygiene, the service life of the filter head is 5 years. After replacing the filter, it is necessary to rinse the cartridge (at least 2 liters of drained water for a 600l filter, at least 3 liters for a 1500l filter, at least 6 liters for a 3000l filter). It is also necessary to reset the control unit: 1. Cover the red LED with your finger for 6 seconds. The red LED lights up for 5 seconds. 2. Confirm the reset within 5 seconds by quickly touching the red LED twice. 3. The red LED flashes 3 times. 18

19 Replacing the filter At the factory, the control unit is configured to work with a “600 l.” filter. (art). In the case when a filter of a different volume (resource) is installed, the control unit needs to be adjusted: 1. Cover the green LED with your finger for 6 seconds. The green diode flashes to indicate the current setting: - 1 time: filter 600 l. - 2 times: filter 1500 l. - 3 times: filter 3000 l. 2. Confirm your choice during the pause by quickly tapping the green LED twice. 3. The green LED flashes 4 times and when finished flashes to indicate the current setting. 600 l l l

Replace the filter. If the resource has been exhausted too quickly, recalibrate the control unit. When replacing the filter, do not forget to “reset” the control unit. Error due to incorrect power connection. The appliance is “plugged in” before the control unit is connected to the mixer. Resetting the error: 1. Disconnect the control unit from the mixer 2. Remove the handle 3. Connect the control unit to the mixer. The light glows green. 4. Put on the handle. Be careful with the cable. After a few seconds, the light will change color from green to blue. 5. Turn the handle (open the water). The light will flash blue. 6. Turn off the water. The light should go out. The “buttons” of the electronic unit are light-sensitive LEDs. Under certain lighting conditions (for example, lack of lighting), they may not “recognize” the touch of a finger. Lighting conditions need to be changed. Change the bypass adjustment (increase the value). Change the bypass adjustment (decrease the value). Most likely the initial calibration was performed incorrectly. Recalibrate the control unit. Or more than 12 months have passed since the mixer was released. In this case, “reset” the electronic unit, as when replacing a filter. 23

Installation progress

The couplings should be put on the studs, then a shock-absorbing pad should be installed. After this, the bowl and pipes are fastened. Fixation must be done by tightening the nuts one by one until the toilet is in place. After installation, a control drain is performed. If there are no leaks, proceed to install the button. Before doing this, you should carefully read the recommendations in the instructions. The tappet hoses are cut exactly to the size shown on the drawing. It is best to place the drain button along the seam of the tile or in the center. If the installation is done properly, the system elements should not leak. Drain button correct installation should be smooth and easy to press. Deflections of the bowl under the influence of load on it are not allowed.
