Preparation and dismantling

If we are talking about replacing a toilet, then first you need to carefully dismantle the old plumbing fixture. To do this, turn off the water supply to the tank, empty it and remove it by unscrewing the supply pipe and 2 mounting bolts, as shown in the photo.

The next step is to disconnect the outlet. It’s not difficult to remove the plastic corrugation, but you’ll have to tinker with the cast iron pipe: you need to prick cement mortar, filled around the edges of the bell. Then unscrew the bolts holding the toilet to the floor, loosen it and pull it out of the drain. Finally, remove the old wooden stand.

Advice. Sometimes the drain pipe sits so tightly in the sewer socket that it is very difficult to remove it. In such a case, you can carefully split the earthenware, put the device aside and pull the pieces out of the pipe so that they do not fall inside.

After dismantling a toilet with a vertical outlet, it is necessary to remove the old wax seal from the socket, after plugging the pipe with a rag. If you plan to install and connect hanging structure with a metal frame (installation), then the horizontal drain will also need to be removed to get to the riser. The fact is that the frame must be installed closer to the toilet wall and secured with studs, and then connected to the sewer.

Regarding preparation for installation, we will give several recommendations:

1. Before installing the toilet, make a screed and lay the tiles. It is not allowed to mount the device directly on an uneven concrete floor.
2. If the tiles lie unevenly, then the earthenware product will have to be placed on wooden pads.
3. When replacing a tile floor, the toilet is removed first and installed last.
4. Install a tap to shut off the water to the tank, if this has not been done before.

When choosing a place to install a wall-hung toilet, try not to place it too far from the sewer system. Correctly install the frame into the sheathing close to the riser, then it will be easy to maintain the slope of the horizontal section. Installing the floor model

When installing a toilet in a new building or moving it to another place, it is worth maintaining the optimal distances to the walls shown in the diagram below. If you place the seat close to a side wall or cabinet, it will be uncomfortable to use.

Usually, when selling compact kits, the bowl is supplied separately from the tank, and the latter comes with a ready-made drain mechanism, so there is no need to assemble it. It is also better to mount them one by one in the following order:

1. Place the toilet on the floor in the correct position, observing minimum dimensions from the walls. Trace the outline of the sole with a marker and mark the attachment points on the floor.
2. Move the plumbing fixture aside and drill mounting holes.
3. Hammer in the dowels, put the bowl back in place and screw it with large self-tapping screws (included) and put on the decorative caps. Do not use too much force when tightening to prevent the earthenware from cracking.
4. Connect a horizontal or inclined drain pipe to the sewer using a corrugation and a sealing collar. For reliability, apply silicone-based sealant to the edges of the corrugated pipe.

Advice. In order not to spoil the tile, it is better to drill it with a drill in non-impact mode. The perforation can be turned on later once the carbide tip of the drill bit passes the tile and goes deeper into the concrete.

If you need to organize a direct (vertical) drain into the sewer, then installing the toilet yourself begins with installing a mounting flange with clamps. Attach it to the floor with dowels, insert mounting pins into the grooves, and put a wax seal on top, as shown in the photo. Then place the sanitary fixture on the studs and tighten with nuts.

In the dacha wooden house installing the toilet is a little easier. The bowl is screwed with self-tapping screws to the boards, and to remove sewage on the ground floor it is more correct to use vertical drain with connections under the floors, as organized in the diagram. On the second floor the connection is traditional - with an oblique pipe to the riser.

For final assembly All that remains is to screw the tank to the bowl and connect it to the water supply. Lubricate rubber gasket silicone sealant, align it with the holes in the toilet, and then install the flush tank and secure with bolts. The location of all parts is shown in the picture:

How to mount the installation

Self-installation of the toilet frame in the bathroom is carried out in the following order:

1. By using PVC pipes and bends with a diameter of 110 mm, bring the sewer pipe from the riser to the required height. To do this, you need to measure the difference between the upper plane of the bowl and its outlet pipe, and take the height of the toilet seat from the surface of the clean floor to be 43-45 cm.
2. Try on the installation and adjust the legs so that the sewer pipe is under the crossbar for installing the device. Place a bracket with studs on top and mark the points for attaching them to the wall.
3. Drill holes, hammer in there plastic stoppers and screw the frame to the wall with self-tapping screws. Do the same operation to attach the legs to the floor.
4. Using the nuts from the other end of the studs and a building level, align the installation vertically. Lead and connect the water supply (connected from the back).
5. Insert sealing collars inside the sewer and flush pipes located at the bottom of the frame. Place the studs for mounting the bowl and the button block.

Note. The design of the upper bracket allows you to move the studs horizontally and in this way arbitrarily select points of attachment to the wall. This is convenient when a riser and many other pipelines pass behind the installation.

Once the frame is mounted in place, proceed to finishing works: arrange a screed, lay tiles and cover the walls with plasterboard. The toilet itself is placed on the studs last, when the toilet is completely in order.
