Modern living conditions place special demands on fire safety equipment. Availability large quantity electrical appliances in enterprises, warehouses and industrial buildings does not allow extinguishing fires using ordinary water. And in this case, lpg fire extinguishing modules, which are a gas protection system, come to the rescue. This article will tell you what such units are, what their technical characteristics are and how to properly install such equipment.

Scope of the module

Gas was first used as a fire extinguishing agent in the 19th century. Back then, carbon dioxide was used to fight fires and fires. Today, this component is used only in bank money depositories and archival warehouses with documents. In other types of premises, refrigerant gases are most often used.

Gas extinguishing fires is one of the many ways to fight fires. This procedure involves the use of substances with fire extinguishing properties, which include not only freons, but also argon and nitrogen.

Gas fire-fighting modules are mainly used in non-residential buildings, where it is impossible to immediately detect a fire, which is why automatic control is required. Such fire-fighting equipment is also suitable for warehouses where flammable and explosive substances are stored. It is used to localize and extinguish class A, B, C fires, as well as electrical equipment, which is energized at the moment of combustion.

The lpg gas fire extinguishing module is taken as the basis for the formation of centralized or local systems for fighting fire. It is used as a storage facility for gas fire-fighting compounds.

Technical features of this system

Automatic gas installation lpg for extinguishing a fire consists of the following structural elements:

  • a tank filled with gas;
  • special pipeline equipped with nozzles;
  • notification mechanisms;
  • reception and control mechanism;
  • central control unit.

The main element of the entire system is a cylindrical tank filled with gas and equipped with a trigger mechanism. If during operation the cylinder becomes empty, it is recharged and used again. There are fire extinguishing systems with complex design, which consist of several modules. To combine them, special structures called collectors are used.

The principle of fire extinguishing using lpg modules is as follows.

  1. Non-flammable gas enters the area where the fire occurred. This happens thanks to high blood pressure created inside the tank. The gas displaces oxygen and thereby prevents the spread of fire. Due to the lack of this element, combustion decreases and the source of fire gradually dies out.
  2. LPG devices are equipped with information sensors, which immediately after a fire occurs, transmit a signal about it to the control panel.
  3. The control unit contains a universal action plan in case of fire. When the appropriate signal is received, the ventilation in the building is blocked, and the sprayers help distribute the non-flammable gas through the pipelines.
  4. The concentration of the gas substance may vary. The higher its indicators, the faster the flame will be extinguished.

The lpg gas module helps to extinguish a fire that has started in no more than 1 minute. This type of fire-fighting equipment is certified to work with a pressure of 160 atmospheres. This indicator meets European quality standards and ensures a high rate of filling the tank with freon. Gas fire protection modules lpg are manufactured in horizontal and vertical orientation.

Cylinder containers in which gas is stored can have different volumes (from 5 to 120 liters), which allows you to create the optimal fire protection system, corresponding to specific operating conditions. LPG equipment can be stored at temperatures from -40 to +60 °C.

Instructions and installation diagram

Installation of modules gas type lpg intended to extinguish fires is carried out in compliance with all legal norms. This procedure must fully comply with the requirements for all objects being developed. It should be carried out by professionals.

Installation of lpg gas modules requires taking into account many factors:

  • the total area of the premises and the number of rooms in it;
  • design features of the interior of the building (are there any plasterboard walls, suspended or suspended ceiling structures);
  • humidity indicators and general technical characteristics of the facility where the gas module or fire protection system will be installed;
  • ways to remove people from the building in the event of a fire.

There are also certain nuances of installing gas modules that are familiar only to a specialist. For example, if such systems are installed in buildings with high traffic volumes, then their installation must be carried out in such a way that after the fire extinguishing mechanism is activated, the oxygen concentration remains normal (otherwise people will simply suffocate).

lpg modules must have reliable protection from adverse external influences. Before installing them, the user must make sure that the device has a government certificate. If the installation of the module is carried out by a contractor company, then it is necessary to check whether it has a license. Before the beginning installation work You need to make sure that the ventilation systems are working.

The lpg fire protection system can consist of several modules connected to each other.

Check whether the created fire protection structure does not interfere with the work of the enterprise personnel.

When the installation process is completed, a specialist from the contractor company issues the subscriber an acceptance certificate, which includes technical documents for all system components and test reports.

Maintenance and recharging

Preventive and testing work regarding gas fire-fighting modules lpg should be carried out periodically throughout the entire period of operation of the equipment. The condition of the system's nodes must be monitored monthly. They must be sealed. Fire sensors also require monitoring. They are examined to ensure they remain in good working order.

When the fire extinguishing system is activated automatically, the gas cylinder becomes empty and must be filled with a new composition. After this, the notification mechanisms are reconfigured. All of the above work is carried out on site and does not require constant reinstallation of fire fighting equipment.

Maintenance of lpg gas fire extinguishing systems also includes a regular inspection procedure for all modules that are included in them. Each element of the system must undergo mandatory inspection once every 10-12 years. After the same period of time, the gas in the cylinder is recharged.

Pricing and comparison with competitors

The main advantage of lpg fire-fighting products over competing products is the use of ozone-safe freon gas as the basis of the system. For example, the lpg 145 gas fire extinguishing module is a component of a modular battery system that provides effective fire extinguishing using freons of various modifications. The named module, like all other lpg devices, is manufactured in Spain. Its body has cylindrical shape, created from of stainless steel and can have a volume from 13 to 100 liters.

Modular fire extinguishing systems allow you to store gas in separate sealed containers with limited volume. From them you can form a battery for rooms with different areas. That is, the gas module can be installed separately in a small room, or as part of a whole system - in a large building. Such characteristics make the device universal and allow it to be used to protect various types of premises.

The price of lpg gas modules is determined based on their configuration. The type of configuration can be different and is formed at the time of designing the fire protection system.

Modern industrial, residential and public buildings unthinkable without an extensive system of power supply lines and applications electronic devices various types, from automatic locks and electric fans, to complex computer systems or communication networks.
A significant part of industries work with the use of substances that are not recommended to come into contact with water, or which cannot be extinguished with water if they catch fire. In such cases, it is necessary to use waterless fire extinguishing agents. One of the ways to implement fire extinguishing without the use of water or aqueous solutions chemical substances is the use of gases.

Automatic gas fire extinguishing systems operate in a mode that does not require human presence. For such devices to function fully, they must comply certain parameters and have some design features, including:

  1. Availability of a constant supply of compressed, liquefied or concentrated non-flammable gas;
  2. Equipping installations with a fire detection system;
  3. Complete set of fire extinguishing systems locking devices, being in constant readiness for operation;
  4. Optimal distribution of working heads for guaranteed protection of the entire volume of the room.
To ensure these properties, the automatic gas fire extinguishing system is equipped special devices, each of which performs specific functions. In order for the installation to work most efficiently, all its components must interact optimally. This is achieved by using exclusively certified parts and components, the properties of which do not differ from the design ones.

Automatic gas fire extinguishing systems are complex systems, the design of which must take into account many factors and parameters. These are both physical and Chemical properties gases, and the reaction of gas storage tanks and pipelines to increased or reduced temperature, dependence of pressure on temperature and humidity of the surrounding air, etc.

The design of gas fire extinguishing must be carried out in accordance with terms of reference by enterprises and organizations that have been issued appropriate licenses. Like other fire extinguishing means, gas fire extinguishing equipment is subject to certification and must comply with certain standards described in the relevant SNiP and GOST.

Modular gas fire extinguishing systems

Most optimal design for use on objects of the most for various purposes are modular gas fire extinguishing installations. Their main feature is the storage of gas in separate modules of limited volume, which can be combined into batteries. The number of modules in each battery is practically unlimited and is determined only by the parameters of the protected premises. IN small rooms installations consisting of one separate module can be used if its calculated volume is sufficient to extinguish any theoretically possible fire in the room of this type taking into account the characteristics of the materials stored there.

The main part of such a system is the MGP gas fire extinguishing module. It represents an ordinary gas cylinder, which is made of high-alloy steel. The capacity of the cylinder is in the range of 80 – 150 liters. Modern automatic gas fire extinguishing installations are equipped with modules coated on the outer, inner, or both sides polymer compounds. Such protection greatly extends the life of a separate module.

Conditions in the premises where the modules are installed may vary high humidity, dustiness or be accessible to the penetration of a certain amount of aggressive substances, such as water vapor or vapors of acids and alkalis. Isothermal modules for gas fire extinguishing for storage of liquefied gas (CO₂) are characterized by heat-tight housings.

The robust, corrosion-resistant housing of the module ensures the operation of the entire system for a long time.
Cylinders are equipped with shut-off and starting devices - valves that open almost instantly using squibs, pneumatic or electrical devices. The triggering devices are activated by a signal from the detectors. The type of signal depends on design features automatic installation gas fire extinguishing.

Module Impulse 20

To protect against fire in a separate room, the Impulse 20 gas fire extinguishing module is used. distinctive characteristic is complete autonomy. Full operation does not require installation of pipelines and complex systems management. It is a spherical metal flask (balloon) equipped with a locking mechanism in the form of a collapsible glass flask, an electrically driven impact rod and a spray head.
The cylinder is filled with Freon 125 gas in the amount of 18 kg. Other parameters:
  • Gas pressure in the cylinder is 25 bar;
  • The response time for an electric pulse of the detector is 2s;
  • Gas spray duration 10s;
  • Thermal lock destruction temperature is 68˚;
  • Number of operations 5;
  • Operating temperature range -10, +50˚С.
The module is located in a suspended state under the ceiling with the calculation of 1 device per 30 m³ of room volume. To protect two adjacent small rooms, you can use one module equipped with a switchgear.

When a signal is received from the detector, an electromechanical device is triggered, the rod is activated and breaks glass flask constipation Gas fills the room and extinguishes the fire. If there are no detectors, then the locking flask itself is triggered. It is destroyed when the room temperature reaches 68˚ and the module also works.

Such installations are used for extinguishing electrical control rooms, server rooms, book storage rooms, generator rooms, painting areas and other premises where people are not constantly present.

MGP module 50 100

The MGP 50 100 gas fire extinguishing module is produced with a cylinder capacity of 60 to 100 liters. The module uses freon 125 or 227ea, freon 23, carbon dioxide, argon, nitrogen or mixtures of gases as a fire extinguishing gas, forming a filler that displaces oxygen from the area surrounding the combustion source. The use of a particular gas is determined by the characteristics of the protected object.

The cylindrical cylinders of the module are installed in a horizontal or vertical position. They can be connected to gas pipelines and automatically gas system fire extinguishing system, in this case, serves several adjacent rooms, united by one fire alarm system. The module opens using a pneumatic or electromechanical starting system.

One refill of fire extinguishing modules remains operational for 10 years, after which testing and refilling are required. After activation, the module is also recharged. Over the 25 years that constitute the service life of one module, it can be refilled up to 10 times. In a battery of modules of the MGP type, cylinders with electric start and pneumatic start are installed simultaneously, operating in parallel.
The following modules work on a similar principle:

  • IHL 50 80;
  • IHL 60 60;
  • IHL 60 60 24;
  • IHL 16 100;
  • IHL 35 60.
They differ in the capacity of the cylinders and, in some cases, in the type of locking devices.

Gas fire extinguishing module LPG 145

To extinguish a fire using freons of various modifications, a battery is used modular system, an element of which is the LPG 145 module, developed and manufactured in Spain. Stainless steel cylinders with a capacity of 13.4 to 100 liters are equipped with solenoid valves with electric, pneumatic or manual activation.

LPG gas fire extinguishing modules can be used either individually or as part of a battery. In the latter case, the first control cylinder is connected to the fire alarm system by electrical wires and is configured to trigger an electric or manual type opening. The remaining modules are driven by a pneumatic drive using a gas pipeline, from the freon pressure of the first cylinder. The response inertia of such a system is very low.
