DIY wooden floor clothes hanger. Floor clothes racks: description, types, advantages. Is it possible to make a hanger rack with your own hands? DIY floor rack for clothes

A floor hanger is a mandatory attribute of any hallway room, be it an apartment or Vacation home. Its price depends on the originality of execution and quality of materials. The easiest option is to purchase such a design at your nearest furniture store. But there is another way out of this situation, so as not to overpay - to make a floor clothes hanger with your own hands.

A little theory from a physics course

To achieve this goal, you will need a little knowledge of physics, as well as available materials and tools. Let's start with the first one. The main requirements for a floor hanger are stability and the absence of sharp elements, so as not to damage the floor, wall or clothing.

Sustainability is achieved in several ways. If the floor hanger rests on one base, usually in the form of a cross or a circle, then it is necessary to ensure that the center of gravity is as low as possible. This can be done using more heavy materials– massive wooden blocks or metal.

If the space in the hallway of the room allows, then it is advisable to install the hanger on two, or even better, on three support points. In the first case, you will need wide bases so that your attribute does not fall on its side, since placing clothes evenly is problematic. Therefore, whenever possible, you should choose a three-point support.

To prevent the base of the floor hanger from scratching the floor, you will need to use materials as a “sole” that are softer than the floor covering.

Tools and materials

Required Tools

So, here is a list of tools that will be needed to make a floor hanger:

  • Phillips (curly) screwdriver;
  • self-tapping screws of different lengths and thicknesses;
  • sandpaper;
  • drill;
  • drills (set);
  • hacksaw;
  • axe.

Set of self-tapping screws

You will also need to stock up on the following materials:

  • a dried tree (cherry, sea buckthorn, etc.) or several of these if the hanger is planned to have several support points. You can buy ready-made processed blanks;
  • bars (more massive, no less than 60 cm long, optimal cut - 7x7 cm);
  • metal wire (for hooks) or ready-made decorative hooks;
  • wood glue;
  • a piece of rubber (or silicone) no more than 3 mm thick.

Wooden blocks for work

Instructions for making a floor hanger with a cross and hooks

First you need to free the tree trunk from bark, as well as rough twigs. Of course, it may seem that with bark the hanger will look much more natural, but over time it will crumble and debris will be spread throughout all living spaces. In addition, there may be small insects in the bark. And clothes will cling to uneven surfaces.

You can free yourself from the bark with an ax or a massive knife. Once this task is completed, you will need to go over the remaining part several times with sandpaper - first coarse, then fine. After sanding, the surface will be smooth and the likelihood of snagging clothes will be minimized.

The next task is to make the base. As in construction, only that structure will be stable and durable if it is given integrity. Therefore, the base and tripod of the hanger must be one piece.

The hanger base and stand must be one piece

You should not first make a cross and then attach the body of the hanger to it on top - such a structure will very quickly become loose and can fall out of the base under the weight of the clothes.

Here's a rule to follow: the bottom edge of the tripod should be flush (that is, on the same plane) with the base of the base.

Let's move on to measuring the diameter of the barrel. We need it in order to select a block of the appropriate width. If the bars are wider, then you need to saw off along with a hacksaw until the right size.

The standard height of a hanger is within 180-200 cm. For them, you need to make a cross with overhangs from 25 to 35 cm. Therefore, we will need 2 bars 60 cm long, which we will cut exactly in the middle to make 4 blanks of 30 cm each.

Now the difficulties begin. Even if you get clever and attach these 4 bars to a round trunk, the structure will be unstable, and after the first fall, due to unevenly hung clothes, it will simply fall apart.

Therefore, we will do the following: put the barrel on the floor and attach the resulting blanks to it on four sides. It will not be possible to connect them in this form, so we will make inserts in the form of triangular wooden elements on bars exactly in the part where the body of the hanger is located. Such “triangles” are attached to the bars using self-tapping screws, and also to the tree trunk - in exactly the same way.

To strengthen the structure, in those places where the “triangles” will be attached to the overhang bars and to the trunk, you must first drill holes with a diameter of 2-3 mm using a drill. less than the diameter of the fastener.

If you simply screw self-tapping screws into wood, there is a possibility of cracks appearing that weaken the structure.

After this procedure is completed, you need to fill the resulting drilled spaces with glue, and only then begin to screw in the screws.

The resulting design of the floor hanger may not be ideal in terms of stability - it often rolls over from one crossbar to another. To correct this drawback, you need to use pieces of rubber that should be glued to the lower part.

In order for the rubber to stick perfectly to the surface of the wood, you need to walk along the surface of the wood with sandpaper and make several scratches in different directions.

The frame is ready, now you need to give the hanger functionality - add hooks for outerwear, which can be remote, that is, located at some distance from the trunk. There is one rule here: the center of gravity of the hanging clothes should not go beyond the crosspiece, otherwise the structure will be unstable and fall.

It doesn’t matter what kind of hooks are used - homemade or decorative, you cannot attach them directly to the trunk, since the floor hanger will quickly become unusable. You can proceed as follows: cut a square from the existing bars, the length of the sides will be slightly greater than the diameter of the trunk used as the body of the hanger. Before attaching the “square” to the top, you must first attach the hooks to it.

Decorative ones are more suitable because they are made of wire beautiful shape very difficult to achieve. Such hooks are attached to wood, usually using one or two self-tapping screws.

If you have time and some skills in working with wood, then using a chisel you can cut out indentations in the squares attached to the top of the floor hanger in order to subsequently “sink” the base of the hook into them. This is a more aesthetic solution than simply mounting it on screws.

After all the hooks are attached, you need to square wooden element connect to the top of the trunk. This can be done with one or two self-tapping screws using the technology described above.

The final stage of work is to add aesthetics to the resulting floor hanger. First of all, you need to close the lower part - the cross with all the fasteners. For this, it is allowed to use fabric, rattan, wooden or plastic slats. The hanger itself can be painted protective layer paint or varnish - both natural color and any other, depending on color range room decoration. The layer must be applied at least 2 times.

Making a suit hanger

Layout of a floor hanger for a suit

The floor hanger for men's suits has a slightly different design and is made of wooden blocks.

It can be done using the following algorithm:

  • measure and cut blanks according to a pre-made project;
  • carefully process and polish them;
  • make mounting holes in the required places;
  • assemble the hanger according to the diagram presented below;
  • perform final finishing;
  • screw roller wheels to the base or glue rubber gaskets.

You can't do without a hanger in the hallway. Of course, outerwear can be hung directly in the closet, but this takes longer and is not so practical. The wall hanger is very convenient for narrow and small hallways; it is quite roomy and does not take up much space.

We offer you 5 master classes on making wall hangers with your own hands from available materials: wood, leather, branches or pipes, as well as inspiring photo ideas.

This hanger will display the phrase “I can also cross-stitch” in every sense, show your creativity and become good decoration Houses.

Materials

In order to create it, you will need the following materials:

  • plastic or metal panel with perforation,
  • multi-colored floss threads (in principle, knitting threads are also suitable),
  • scissors,
  • hooks (in this case 4 pieces with a ball at the end).

ADVICE: where can I get such a perforated sheet? At any hardware or furniture store, ask for perforated sheet metal. And they will cut you the size you need.

Work order:

  1. We buy a perforated sheet of the required size.
  2. You do regular cross stitch with threads, only the fabric is larger.
  3. You can choose any word you like, or a simple picture (a heart, for example), the main thing is to make sure that everything fits and the spaces between the letters are the same.
  4. When the inscription is ready, attach the hooks through the holes in the panel and hang the hanger on the wall (you don’t even need to drill holes for the fasteners, they are already there).

Wooden hanger

If you have a pallet lying around at your dacha, then this master class will help you find one for it. useful application. If there is none, then the hanger can be made from an ordinary wooden board.

Necessary materials:

  • Pallet or wooden board
  • Hooks
  • Paint and paint container
  • Brush or roller
  • Protective gloves
  • Drill
  • Jigsaw
  • Sander or sandpaper
  • Measuring tape
  • Pencil
  • Wood cleaning cloth

Step-by-step instruction:

Step 1: Preparing the Wood

  1. Separate one board from the pallet (or take a regular wooden board), clean it of dirt. Trim to size if it is too big.
  2. By using grinder make the surface even and smooth; if you don’t have a machine, you can use sandpaper by hand, it will take more time, but the desired result can be achieved.

Step 2: Mark where the hooks will be

Use a measuring tape to mark the points where you will attach the hooks. They can be located along the same line at equal intervals, or above and below at intervals, as you prefer.

Step 3: Drill Holes for Hooks

  • Make holes for the hooks with a drill (check first that the width corresponds to the desired size).
  • Once completed, clean the board from dust.

Step 4: Paint the Boards

  • Choose the color and type of paint depending on your preferences and interior. Used here acrylic paint on water based bright blue color.
  • The paint can be applied with a roller or brush, along and across the board, evenly filling the entire space, the last ball should run lengthwise.

If you wish, you can use a wood preservative before painting to ensure its longevity.

Step 5: Insert Fasteners

  1. On the back of the board, insert the fasteners that will be used to hang the board from the wall. They should be located symmetrically to each other, relative to the middle of the board.
  2. Here we used hooks that are screwed into previously drilled holes. They are easy to attach, the main thing is that they have the appropriate diameter.

Create your own design - choose the color, paint with patterns, choose the location of the hooks, as well as their color and size. All is ready!

From copper pipe

This hanger is especially suitable for hat lovers. It is difficult to find a place for them where they can be stored and not wrinkled; it takes up too much space in the closet. This is an excellent option for direct use – for clothing and for decorating a room. Of course, in addition to hats, a clothes hanger will also fit here.

Necessary materials:

  • Copper pipe
  • Scissors
  • Clothespins
  • Rope

Step-by-step instruction:

Step 1: Prepare the base

Cut the rope to a size large enough to hang the hanger. Pass the rope through the copper pipe.

Step 2: Attach Hat Hanging Strings

Cut a few more pieces of rope and tie them onto the pipe, leaving enough space between them so that the hats do not interfere with each other later.

Step 3: Hang the hanger

Attach the ends of the rope with copper pipe to the wall or ceiling (for this there must be hooks or a pipe). Attach clothespins to the ropes hanging from the pipe; now you can hang hats on them. You can also hang a clothes hanger on the pipe.

ADVICE: Choose the length of the pipe depending on the amount of free space on the wall, hats and clothing.

As you can see, it is done very quickly, even in half an hour you can do it, and it looks very original.

Leather belt hanger

This wall hanger is suitable for the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom. The type is similar to the hanger described in the previous master class, but its use is more universal. It will beautifully complement the interior of your apartment, while requiring very little effort and time to make.

Necessary materials:

  • Leather belts (2 pieces of fairly soft leather)
  • Two small pieces of leather (harder)
  • Wooden stick (from a tree branch)
  • S-hooks
  • Scissors
  • Thread and needle (suitable for leather)
  • Leather punch

Step-by-step instruction:

Step 1: Preparing the belts

  1. Trim to required length two leather belts, they must be the same. Wrap the strap around the stick and mark how much you need to wrap around it.
  2. In the place where the belt meets after the girth, it needs to be sewn to fix the stick so that it does not fall out. Do the same with the second belt.
  3. To prevent the seam from being visible, make decorative leather straps: use a narrow strap to wrap the strap attached to the stick, where the seam is, and sew it, connecting the ends (the same with the second strap).

Step 2: Attach the hanger

Using a leather punch, make holes on top of the belts (in the center of the width), using which you can hang this structure on the wall or ceiling (on previously attached hooks).

Step 3: Hanging Hooks

Hang on a wooden stick required quantity S-shaped hooks and hanger are ready for use.

From branches and cuts

Branches and cuttings are excellent material for wall hanger. First of all, it’s very affordable! And secondly, wood will never go out of style and will perfectly complement the style of any apartment!

You can make many crafts for your home from branches - more on that in the article .

From pallets

If you are going to make a wall hanger and choose a cheap and quick option, then a hanger from wooden planks or pallets - this is exactly what you need. If you think that it will look ordinary and unoriginal, look at the selection of photos below and make sure that from these materials you can create a truly unique thing that will decorate the interior of your apartment.

Select paint (or simply treat the wood with an antiseptic, preserving the natural color), hooks, and give the board the required form, come up with your own own way decorate the boards.

More complex hangers can be made from wood. More precisely, it’s not even a matter of complexity, they are labor-intensive, you need to spend more time on them.

Technology for making hangers from improvised means

Having summed up all the master classes, I would like to derive a single formula for making and being creative with hangers. It can be roughly divided:

  • The basis- can be any item from a finished board to old items.
  • Hooks for hangers- you don’t have to buy them, you can remove them from coat hangers.

Basics from improvised means

You can also use things for making that, at first glance, are not at all suitable for this: skis, oars, rulers, etc. how much imagination is enough? A wonderful way to find a use for things lying around in the pantry.

Hooks for hangers

Hooks also do not have to be standard (although their range of choice is quite wide). Start looking at things with the thought “where else can you be used?” I'm sure that with a little training, interesting ideas they will start to come more and more often, and this applies not only to hangers, of course.

Attach individual hooks to the wall; their design should look like a decorative element, even if there is nothing on them.

Wall Hangers Ideas

Designers are increasingly coming up with ideas for creative and functional clothes hangers. Sometimes their designs are quite elementary and not difficult to do at home.

Metal, of course, is more difficult to work with, but if you want to create such a hanger, it will not be difficult. Make branches in the shape of a tree or hang hangers on a pipe - the result will be durable and functional.

All these photos are a piece of what you can create with your own hands. Take the elements you like, combine them, and most importantly, have fun with it all!

Wall hanger in the hallway – important element storage of things. The layouts of many apartments have narrow corridors, in which it is not always possible to place a full-fledged closet, so the owners are looking for alternative options. I would like to preserve the design of the apartment, comfort and ease of use.
There can be a lot of variations of hangers, from the most standard and simple miniature shelves to the futuristic and most unimaginable ideas.

The most popular materials for making hangers are wood and metal.

Forged metal hangers amaze with their beauty and smoothness of shape. They are used in interiors in the Provence and Art Deco styles. This version of hangers is attached to self-tapping screws, and more often they are hung on them.

This type of hanger can be classified as horizontal. Their function is only to store outerwear. Metal hangers often have an aged appearance, which gives them a picturesque look.

Very interesting combination option forged elements and leatherette or fabric. It looks unusual and luxurious. This hanger will decorate any corridor and become its highlight.

The photo shows combinations of materials: wood with fabric and metal with fabric. The functionality and uniqueness of the products has been preserved. In the first option, wood gives solidity and solidity to the furniture, and in the second, metal facilitates the composition and adds grace.

Wooden hangers can be combined with a mirror, a shelf for shoes or for head accessories. The photo shows a very compact version of the hallway.

The hanger can have sections: for short and long upper items, which helps prevent dirt on the wall.

The wooden hanger is equipped with a shelf and a mirror, also an excellent option for small hallways.

When choosing a material, you need to focus on its strength, whether it will withstand ready product heavy winter things.

For this function, you can strengthen the fastening: use not only self-tapping screws, but also furniture corners.

Materials can complement each other, carrying out their functions. Metal, being more durable, is used as the basis of the structure, and wood is used as decorative elements.

Ideas for hangers in the hallway from scrap materials

I picked up a lot of ideas when making a hanger with soul from scrap materials. This could serve as inspiration for many families. I believe that in the interior we need to move away from stereotypes, because any design is unique with its non-standard solutions.

In the photo, a completely ordinary hanger from a piece of board is made in nautical style. The matching backdrop and anchor hooks add color to the entire hallway.

Interesting forged easy option, perhaps not entirely from scrap materials, but it has its place. A very functional and elegant option, it contains a stand for shoes and hats.

United in the shape of rhombuses, slats with wooden hooks look very environmentally friendly and stylish. Placement of hooks on different heights allows you to hang a lot of things without creating an untidy pile.

Curved leaves of thin aluminum decorate the walls in a unique way. And it will be very easy to make such a hanger at home. To do this, you can buy a sheet of thin aluminum in construction stores. This material is easy to cut and quite pliable.

Pallet hanger is the most affordable and modern version hallway decor. Creates a loft atmosphere and is suitable for unconventional young people.

And, most importantly, it is completely environmentally friendly and strong material. Using corners and self-tapping screws, you can build a shoe stand and a shelf. You can simply coat the pallets with varnish or stain, then the beautiful wood pattern will be preserved, or you can paint them with thick colored paint to match the overall tone of the interior.

For minimalist designs, the hanger in the photo is just a godsend. It is comfortable, without unnecessary details and looks very stylish. A rod is inserted inside, which allows you to make hangers from the hanger.

I will give a short master class on making a hanger from wooden hangers. This results in two rows of hooks. The option is unusual, but very functional.

Having slats of different widths, you can create the simplest option furniture by simply drilling out hooks and adding crossbars for fastening.

For nature lovers, you can use images of animals and birds, and artificially aged wooden product will add history to the corridor.

An interesting option for combining two materials: wood and metal. Modern compact hanger with built-in hooks.

I have already come across ideas for hooks made from cutlery many times: forks and spoons, as in the bottom photo.

An interesting option for a plastic hanger for a small family. IN summer period can only serve as decoration.

DIY wooden wall hanger

To make a hanger you need to take several boards, either ready-made or purchased in a store. You can use any wood: pine, oak, birch.

Let's look at two options for hangers.

We cut out identical sidewalls, a top and a middle crossbar, to which we then need to attach the hooks.

We cut out beautiful curves on the sides and sand all the details.

We connect it into a finished structure with self-tapping screws and furniture corners.

We mark the places for the hooks and drill them.

We check the finished product for strength and varnish it.

You can make an even simpler version of a clothes hanger.

The photo shows the diagram and dimensions of the future product.

We take purchased boards or slats; in this case, pine wood was used.

We measure the same distance between the vertical parts and fasten the frame from the wrong side. We drill any fasteners. The shelf will be hung with self-tapping screws.

On front side We attach the hooks at the same distance from each other. And we admire the result.

This model of hanger can be supplemented with a shelf and given contrasting colors. The photo shows an option when the crossbars go not from the wrong side, but from the front side.

There is a large number floor hangers for clothes. At home, this is very relevant and practical furniture, which fits perfectly into any interior. Such hangers can be easily moved around the apartment and room. Things in this case wrinkle much less than in the closet. It requires a cover to protect it from dust. This design can be made with your own hands. Let's take a closer look at the manufacturing process various models, photos of which will also be presented in the article.

Advantages

It will stylishly fit into any interior and does not take up much space.

The good thing about this thing is that hanging clothes does not come into contact with the wall, and this helps protect the wallpaper from damage. Moreover, the device can be folded, removed or rearranged at any time, which is very important in small apartments.

If you make it yourself, then the following advantages appear:

  • the cost is significantly reduced;
  • is an exclusive piece of furniture;
  • there is no need to drill holes in the wall to hang it.

Necessary materials

Consumables can be absolutely anything: from oak to metal.

How to make a stand with your own hands? First you need to decide on the material. Plywood is suitable for work, these are the most practical materials, which can be easily worked with. When used in the house, it is not exposed to moisture, which significantly increases its service life.

Working with plastic or metal at home is quite difficult, so it is better to avoid them. It is also necessary to take into account the fact that a large load is placed on it, therefore, materials are needed of appropriate strength to prevent them from breaking.

When purchasing plywood or wood, you need to pay attention to their quality, since this will determine appearance products. Typically, oak structures are coated only with varnish or stain.

Made from plywood in the form of a tree

The process of creating a product, with its subsequent use for storing clothes.

It’s not difficult to make such a product yourself and it doesn’t require much. materials and tools. This product requires two sheets of plywood measuring 70x170 cm and 18 mm thick. To work you will need:

  • jigsaw;
  • glue;
  • sandpaper.

The manufacturing process itself does not take much time. First, draw an outline on one sheet of plywood future design. The main thing is to have a width of about 60 cm. This is necessary for stability, because if they are narrow, it will fall if heavy winter clothes are hung on it.

To avoid drawing a picture on the second sheet of plywood, you need to fasten the two sheets of plywood using clamps or self-tapping screws, making sure that the sheets do not shift. To transform the blanks into a finished product, two slits are made. On one workpiece the slot is made from the top to the middle, and on the second from the bottom. The width of these slots should correspond to the thickness of the plywood.

WITH inside both slots should carefully treat with glue, and then one workpiece is put on another. The result is quite original item, photos of which can be found on the Internet. All that remains is to sand it and paint it. You can decorate it in different ways or simply cover it with varnish, stain or paint.

From a tree trunk

Very original solution are interior items that look like a branch or trunk with knots. Such things always fit harmoniously into any room.

good design solution – this is a stand made of natural natural material, namely from the trunk. It is very easy to do and there is no need to purchase special tools.

How to make it yourself? To do this, you first need to find a high-quality blank from a dry log that will not have rot. The breed doesn't matter, but it's still better not to use conifers containing a large amount of resins. Glue can be released even from a dry trunk. It is advisable to use hardwoods, having good branching, so there was more space for clothes.

His you need to clear the bark, cut the lower branches to a height of one meter, and shorten the upper ones, leaving branches on which you can later hang clothes. After this, the rack is completely sanded and cleaned of irregularities and dirt. If the wood is damaged by a bark beetle, then this will not hurt, because it creates an amazingly beautiful pattern that fits perfectly into the design.

Then you need to make a stand, because the tree trunk cannot stand on its own. The main thing is that the stand is massive, this makes the structure more stable. The stand itself can be of any shape: round, square, triangular.

Photo gallery

The base is attached to the stand different ways. For example, if its lower part is quite thick, then the board can be screwed to it using self-tapping screws, the heads of which will be located at the bottom, so they will not be visible. If the bottom of the trunk is thin, then a hole is made in the stand, no larger than the diameter of the trunk itself, after which the base is fixed to the stand with glue, since this method is the most reliable.

After it is manufactured, it must be varnish to maintain natural color. But if the light system does not fit the design, then you can use dark paint.

In the form of a staircase, with your own hands

Old and unnecessary stairs can also be used and given a second life.

Very looks original- in the form of a staircase. To make it yourself, you will need two bars 170 - 180 cm long and 5x5 cm thick. For the crossbars, you will need three smaller bars, the length of which will be equal to the width of the product. All bars need to be sanded or processed with a plane.

To make the structure look neat and beautiful, all parts are connected to each other using spikes. After this, the product is coated with varnish and stain. A comfortable and convenient do-it-yourself clothes rack is ready. It can be installed both in the bedroom and in the summer house.

Rustic style

This design will fit well into a corridor or hallway, and you can put shoes under it. This model is not easy to make yourself. First, holes are made in the intersecting round posts large diameter. It is very difficult to drill holes in round parts with a household tool. To get around this unpleasant nuance, you need to take square posts and use a drill to make holes in them required diameter. It is best to take a metal crossbar, as it will sag. This model can be disassembled. To do this, remove the crossbar from the holes, and the parts that make up the hanger are folded compactly.

On wheels

The wheels are very convenient and make the thing very mobile.

This design has regular hangers on top, which is very convenient for placing blouses, shirts and jackets. It is more convenient to hang trousers on the crossbars. Thanks to the wheels, it is easy to move it to another place.

To make it yourself, you will need special fasteners. The vertical posts are attached to the base using metal screws. The only difficulty is drilling holes for the screws in the vertical racks. The rest of the assembly is pretty simple. The disadvantage of this design is the need to disassemble it during transportation. To do this you need from vertical racks unscrew long bolts.

Thus, there are many ways to make such a clothes hanger with your own hands, a photo of which was presented in the article. This is a very simple interior element, the manufacture of which will require readily available materials. Usually, the work does not require special tools, and the result is a unique and exclusive item.

One of the convenient ways to store clothes is a floor hanger. You can put it at the entrance and leave your outerwear there. Other models are more suitable for bedrooms, dressing rooms, and children's rooms.

Types of floor hangers and their location

Some types of floor hangers are placed in certain premises. For example, hangers for outerwear are placed in the hallway near the door. This is convenient: you can immediately get rid of clothes. Floor hanger rack under hangers is more universal. Such products can be placed in the hallway, in the dressing room, even in the nursery or bedroom. They accommodate a large amount of clothing and can replace a wardrobe.

Standing hangers for suits, shirts and trousers are most often “registered” in bedrooms or children’s rooms (if the child is a schoolchild). This is where we usually dress before leaving the house. Hanging chairs are also placed there. This is, in fact, one of the options for costume hangers. The legs and supports simply took the shape of the seat.

What materials are they made from?

A floor hanger is most often made of metal or wood. Both of these materials are strong, ductile, durable and relatively inexpensive. Some parts - plugs, parts of hooks - can be made of plastic.

Most often you can see floor hangers made of metal and wood

Plastic inserts are more often found on lower cost metal hangers. If the elements are not made of plastic load-bearing structure, this is not bad and you can buy such floor hangers without hesitation. If the elements are made of plastic supporting structure, better look for another model.

Metal hangers

Most big choice metal floor hangers. They are usually made from thin-walled round or square pipes. The metal used is most often black, coated protective coating. This can be paint (most often powder coating), nickel plating, chrome plating. IN last years A new protective coating has appeared - a plastic film (PVA). This is also a good option, since the film is impermeable to moisture and air. Such products are easy to care for, since the surface is smooth and without pores.

If the floor hanger will be used to place heavy winter clothes, when choosing, pay attention to the thickness of the metal. The minimum in this case is 1 mm. If the thickness of the pipe wall is not indicated in the product description, most likely the wall is very thin and suitable for light clothing. Indirect signs that will confirm your guesses are the weight of the product and the price.

Wooden

Wooden hangers can be carved from solid wood, or they can be prefabricated. The first option is much more expensive. Prefabricated ones are 2-3 times cheaper, but do not differ too much in appearance. The presence of joints in products of normal quality is hardly noticeable, so if you have a limited budget, it is quite possible to purchase economy class products.

Wooden floor hangers are well sanded and covered with a protective coating. Usually varnish or oil is used. The varnish creates a protective film on the surface, making it easy to care for such products. Wood oils protective film They don’t create, but they protect no worse. When treated with oil, the structure of the wood is clearly visible - all the fibers, the pattern.

Standing clothes hangers in the hallway

Floor hangers for outerwear in the hallway most often consist of a rod on which different heights hooks for clothes of different lengths and shapes are installed in a circle. For stability, the structure is equipped with a round (rarely square) weighted base. They can be made of wood or metal.

The height of the floor stand is 150 cm and above, and the base is a circle with a diameter of 35-45 cm. In order for the hanger to be stable, you need to pay attention to the fact that the lower part is weighted. And all the same, such designs require careful attention: clothes must be hung evenly. Otherwise the hanger may fall.

There are floor hangers for outerwear of this type, but made differently. Several pipes or metal strips are bent with a certain radius. Wherein top part is smaller than the bottom one. This design is more stable, but requires more space, which is not always possible in a small hallway.

Racks for clothes hangers

A hanger rack for clothes on hangers is a convenient thing if there is not enough space in the closets. They consist of a base rectangular shape, one or two pipe-crossbars, on which hangers with clothes are hung.

Rack hangers are made of metal and wood. There are metal ones made from pipes, and there are forged ones. Some models of metal clothing racks have adjustable heights. For long clothes, their stand can be raised higher. The maximum height is 150 cm. For short clothes, you can place it at a height of 80-90 cm. This is - minimum height, and there are also intermediate positions.
