First of all, we unscrew the upper part of the sprayer and we only need to make a small hole with a needle or an awl in the tube along which the liquid will rise, as shown in the photo below. This is necessary so that the liquid mixes with air.

You don't need to do anything else inside. The only thing, if you don't want to pump air manually, you can install a nipple from tubeless tires and pump air with a compressor, but I did not do this, since a regular pump is enough.
Next, remove the metal spout from the spray, take the upper part of the sponge, cut off a piece that fits the size and insert it tightly into the spout, as shown in the photo below.

Tank filling and chemical mixing

Now you need to mix water and chemistry in the proportions that are indicated on the package and you can make foam. If there is no chemistry, then a regular detergent is fine (I tested on Feri).

Now we blow in air and try to spray the foam. Also, with the help of an adjustable spout, you can change the shape and size of the jet. The foam lays down well and evenly, and is also very dense in saturation.

We study it carefully and begin to act. We write down all the components, excluding the chemical ones. We buy the most ordinary hair shampoo, not necessarily expensive, a simple one is fine, add what is written in your list, and the car shampoo for contactless washing is ready.

Regular hair shampoo

This method is the safest for both the owner of the car and the paintwork, but it probably won't cope with complex dirt the way you want it. But it is economical, easy to manufacture, creates a lot of foam and makes the car look pretty clean.

Never use a mixture of cheap chemicals for shampooing. By doing this, you will not only undermine your health, but also spoil the car coating. It will become cloudy, remaining all the same dirty spots, and, possibly, will corrode the varnish layer. Glasses can also lose transparency.

DIY car shampoo

The main thing with which we start preparing our solution is the basis. In good natural formulations, the base is water with a pH equal to 7. It has a gentle effect on chromium and varnish. Having decided on the type of sink, you can add the following components. For hand washing, they should be less aggressive. The most popular surfactants used in car shampoos are anionic and nonionic.

The next thing that is added are complexing agents. They are used to reduce water hardness. If you do not add this component, it will lose its fluidity, which will complicate washing in hard-to-reach parts of the car body.

These include:

• foam formers, which are responsible for the formation of active foam;
• polyphosphates, silicone resins, anti-corrosion additives;
• polishing agents that protect against chemical damage and minor mechanical stress;
• fragrances used so that after washing there is no smell of chemicals that make up the shampoo.

You can mix all the ingredients yourself without following strict rules. If you feel that it is difficult for you to cope with this task, and do not know what and how much to add, buy car shampoo in the store. This will save you from mistakes, the cost of which will be the damaged paintwork of your vehicle. How to use autochemistry correctly

Homemade car shampoo has practically no differences in application, compared to a detergent prepared industrially. Their principle of operation is the same; the result, if used correctly, will not differ either. You can start using the detergent as soon as you prepare it. Considering the consistency of the shampoo for non-contact washing with your own hands, it must be diluted with plain water.

In order to wash the car, you need to apply a diluted agent to the surface, rub it over the car body until a copious foam forms and leave for a while. At this point, the detergent will remove dust from the surface. Then you should rinse the car shampoo from the car with a brush or sponge and wipe it dry.

Wipe glass surfaces and mirrors with a soft, lint-free cloth or special napkins.

The detergent must not be allowed to dry on the paintwork. This will lead to stains and streaks.

In case you are not sure how much shampoo should be used for car wash, it is better to take less. The concentrated solution can damage the varnish.

For non-contact washing, equipment is used, in the presence of which you do not have to engage in physical labor and rub the detergent over the surface of your car.

The principle of contactless washing is very simple - the more foam, the cleaner the car. You will need a foam generator to get a good result. This is a special bottle or other container with a volume of 20-100 liters, into which a car shampoo or a special reagent diluted with water is poured. With the help of a compressor, a pressure of at least 60 bar is supplied to the vessel - this is enough to eject the mixture through a special hose gun.

The foam generator nozzle can have several nozzles (up to 4), which allows you to increase the amount of active foam. Such devices are usually used in industrial washes, where a large number of cars need to be washed in a short time. At home, a sprayer cylinder is usually altered for a foam generator, and instead of a compressor, manual air injection is used. It turns out such a homemade "Karcher". The device and principle of operation of the foam nozzle

Another very important element of a spray gun is a foam tablet. It is very easy to make it with your own hands, and this is important. The tablet is a consumable material that requires periodic replacement, especially if the device is used improperly.

Foam lances: causes of breakage

In order for the device to work properly, you need to follow a few simple rules:

• do not throw the foam nozzle on the ground, this can cause clogging of the tablet or nozzle of the solution supply;
• do not throw the device on hard surfaces, as the nozzle has many plastic parts that can crack;
• rinse the foam lance after using it;
• do not leave the prepared solution in the nozzle tank; it is better to pour it into a separate container and hide it away from children.

What is a foam tablet? Why does it fail?

One of the main parts of the device is the foam lance tablet. It is she who is responsible for the quality of the foam and its quantity. Failure of this element can completely paralyze the operation of the sink.

The cause of the breakdown may be the following:

• the foam tablet has worn out due to frequent use of the device;
• the mesh was clogged with sand or dirt, since the device was often thrown to the ground;
• the remains of the cleaning solution have dried inside the tablet, since the device was not washed after previous use;

On large commercial sinks, the mesh changes quite often - once every 2-3 months, and at home one tablet is enough for several years, of course, provided it is used correctly.

How to make a pill with your own hands

What to do if a faulty mesh became the cause of the breakdown, and the car needs to be washed urgently, and you don't want to spend money. There is only one way out - to make such a device, a foam tablet, with your own hands, especially since it is very simple to do this. The fact is that this thing is called a tablet only because of its shape, but in fact it is a small cylinder of pressed wire. Therefore, making a foam tablet with your own hands is very simple. To do this, you need to take an ordinary metal washcloth for washing dishes and compress it into a tight lump.

In order to give the tablet the desired shape, you can take a regular plastic bottle and cut it into a funnel. Place it on the table and stuff the neck tightly with a metal mesh for the dishes. Leave the mesh in the neck of the bottle for a while to fix the shape well, then gently squeeze it out. That's all - a do-it-yourself foam tablet is ready.

Changing the mesh step by step

It remains only to replace the foaming element. In order to change the tablet, it is not at all necessary to completely disassemble the foaming agent. You need to do it like this:

• there is a pin on one of the plastic parts - we pull it out with a thin drill or;
• remove the plastic cover of the jet regulator;
• now we take out the guide block - "duck";
• using a wrench of the desired size, unscrew the holder of the foam mesh;
• using a screwdriver or drill, push the foam mesh out of the holder's body;
• we press in a new tablet;
• tighten the foam tablet holder again, not forgetting to apply a layer of sealant to the threaded joint;
• then we perform all the actions in the reverse order: insert the "duck", put the cover and the pin back in place.

That's it, the foamer is ready for use again.

How to rinse the foam lance

In order for the foam mesh to serve you longer, it is imperative to rinse the foam concentrate after each use. You need to do it like this:

Carry out this procedure after each use of the sink, otherwise the foam tablet may become clogged. Residual cleaning foam can clog the jet or the mesh tablet itself, compress inside and block the foam outlet. If this happens, you can try to fix the mesh. To do this, take it out and soak it in kerosene for a while, then try to clean it mechanically with a knitting needle or a thick needle. If the above manipulations did not bring the desired result, then the foam tablet will have to be replaced.

Structurally, the foam generator is very similar to a conventional sprayer, the basic circuit is almost identical. But there is one caveat that the foam generator is a high pressure equipment.

The main components of this equipment are:

• balloon (from 25 to 100 l);
• mixer;
• a gun;
• hose.

Large equipment with a large balloon capacity can be mounted on the transfer cart for easy movement.

Since the equipment operates under high pressure, cylinders are made of stainless steel or metal with an integral anti-corrosion coating. In some industrial versions, a straight ruler is installed on the cylinder, which makes it possible to control the flow and timely filling.

The foam transformer cannot work on its own. The normal operating pressure for the foam generator is 5 - 6 bar. For control, a pressure gauge is installed in the tank, pressure control is performed by the existing pressure regulator.

Purpose and principle of operation

Foam guns are very popular. They are used at technological service stations, in the fire, pharmaceutical and food industries.

The active composition of the foam contributes to excellent cleaning:

• production equipment;
• road transport;
• premises after renovation;
• swimming pools.

The action of the foam is aimed at cleaning the surface, removing dirt, disinfecting.

The main component of the device is the so-called foaming tablet. In fact, this is a lattice with a small mesh, closed in several layers and made of corrosion-resistant wire. It is defined in a housing mounted on a cylinder. And it is connected to the supply hose. This tablet ensures that the fine grain foam is delivered at a high frequency.

And then the foam goes to the gun, which is applied to the plane. This hand gun is equipped with a flow regulator, which makes it possible to set the parameters of the jet.

Do-it-yourself washing machine

Considering the hardware system, you will notice that the main component is an expandable tablet, which can be purchased separately. This means that you can make a homemade foam generator without any problems. The easiest way to make a contactless device is to take an ordinary sprayer as a base and rework it a little.

Thus, you need:

• stabilizer;
• two half-inch drills and nuts for them;
• check valve;
• air duct;
• foam and adapter;
• metal tube.

It is worth considering one of the simple designs of a foam generator, which can be made from improvised means. It is important to follow the instructions.

Work order:

• it is necessary to disconnect the valve and the connecting hose from the sprayer;
• insert bushings into the holes and fix them with nuts on both sides and with gaskets;
• install a pipe on one of the actuators so that it almost reaches the bottom of the tank, a check valve and an air supply connection;
• on the second disk adapter;
• the pump must be cushioned as needed.

It remains only to connect the hose to the outlet. Thus, the product is ready. The device is not as convenient to work with as with the factory equipment, but it is acceptable.

For washing you will need:

• fill the container with a cleaning solution by 2/3;
• connect the compressor and supply air to the cylinder (it is important to monitor the pressure and not exceed the norms);
• after opening the spray valve, the air squeezes out the solution, passes it through the tablet, and at the exit the foam is of quite acceptable quality.

Among the disadvantages of the foam generator, one can single out the need for periodic pumping of pressure, since the controller does not have a regulator. There is also no exhaust flow regulation.

But the described design can always be improved by installing additional equipment to eliminate the disadvantages and improve the usability of the foam generator.

This method is even easier than the previous one. It makes it possible to collect a foam source for cleaning from appliances with minimal cost. Not much is needed for a product. It is not difficult to make a foaming agent for washing with your own hands.

This only requires:

• set of wrenches;
• Bulgarian;
• gun;
• plastic containers;
• nozzles;
• compressor;
• flushing hoses.

It is necessary to take a tube 70 cm long. Both ends must be closed with special plugs. The plugs must be fitted over the threaded holes.

On one of the caps of the foam generator, you need to put an adapter in the form of the letter T. On the second, fix the connection. Connect the hoses to the 2 outlets of the T-adapter. Do not forget about the stopcocks.

One arm of the foam generator for washing will lead to the reservoir of liquid, and the other to the compressor. This kind of method makes it possible to compose a generator at home with your own hands at the lowest cost.

In the event that a homemade foam generator is turned on for washing a car for the first time, you need to supply plain water with a small amount of dye. This will help identify weaknesses in the structure, if any.

When assembling a foam generator with your own hands, choosing the right reservoir is of particular importance. Simple ways have been shown earlier. There is another option.

In difficult times of crisis, everyone is trying to save on something. Car owners are no exception in this case. After all, today the maintenance of your "iron horse" takes a large part of the budget. And if it is unlikely that it will be possible to save on spare parts and fuel without consequences, then it is unreasonable to constantly spend a lot of money on a professional one. Not washing a car or washing it less often is also not an option, because driving a dirty car is uncomfortable and even unpleasant to drive.

The problem with car washing is solved in different ways. Someone washes at home with their own hands. However, it takes a long time and is not as effective and efficient as. And the thing is that professional equipment is used there - foam generators, which help to wash the car as quickly and efficiently as possible. And contactless washing (using a foaming agent) practically does not harm the paintwork of the car, in contrast to the usual contact washing at home.

Others are thinking about buying a mini-foam generator to use it exclusively for personal needs. However, the prices for it today bite very much. That is why our craftsmen began to think about how to make a foam generator for washing on their own.

What is needed for a homemade foam generator?

Materials for making a homemade foam generator will need the simplest ones. Some of them are in almost every home or garage, although you still have to buy some of them. The most expensive part of this device is the compressor. You will not buy a new one on the market for less than a few thousand rubles. However, there is also a way to save money. You can buy an old compressor at a parts sale. For example, with ZIL 130. Its capacity is quite enough for a home foaming agent. The main thing is to see that it is in good condition, does not flow anywhere, because this may indicate its imminent failure. If you have not found anything suitable for sale, you can try to look at the car dump, where most of these trucks are "resting" today. And then, if you find something worthwhile, just negotiate with the watchman and pick up the compressor for a purely symbolic price.

Another equally important element is the fluid reservoir. It could even be a regular plastic canister. The most important thing is that the walls of the tank withstand a pressure of 5–6 atm.

Also, in order to make a foam generator for washing, you will need nozzles, adapters, a gun, flushing hoses and an inch tube, at least 70-80 cm long. From the tool - wrenches, a grinder.

Assembling the foam generator

It is quite simple to assemble a foam generator for washing with your own hands. First, we take the already prepared tube. For foaming, it is filled with fishing line of different sections. If there is no fishing line, then you can take an ordinary household washcloth. Next, the required size is cut and the tube is filled with it. When using a washcloth instead of a fishing line, it is very important to fix it securely so that it does not crumple in the tube under high pressure. We close the tube on both sides with threaded plugs. On one side of the pipe, a T-piece is screwed, shut-off valves. Hoses are connected to them. One hose leads to the compressor, the other is introduced into the tank.

On the other side of the pipe, a fitting is fixed, from which the foam will come out. Its quality and density directly depend on how long the pipe is and how well it is filled with fishing line or washcloth.

If you decide to use a metal container as a tank, for example a gas cylinder, then welding is also required here. You will need to weld the old holes and make new ones: one at the bottom and another somewhere in the middle. Tubes with adapters are welded to them. The lower adapter is connected by means of hoses to the compressor, and the upper one leads to the spray tube. Before using in either case, it is better to check whether the container is leaking. To do this, instead of shampoo, we use water with a dye, which will indicate to us the place of leakage, if any.

The fastest way to make a foaming agent

A homemade foam generator for washing can also be made from a conventional sprayer, which is very similar in design to the factory foam concentrate.

The most convenient way to make a washing foamer is from a sprayer. The design of such a device is very similar to factory blowing agents, although it has some differences. When choosing a sprayer, take into account the thickness of its walls, because the foam concentrate will have a high pressure (up to 6 atm).

You will also need a compressor for this device. Plus a foam tablet, an air fitting or tube, gaskets, a hose adapter, a check valve, a pair of half-inch adapters, and four nuts.

Take the sprayer and remove the mounting valve and the fitting from it. You have a couple of holes through your sprayer. You should also disassemble and shut off the hand pump.

After that, take the adapters, screw them into the tank and tighten them with the nuts. It is better to use gaskets at the same time so that the container is airtight. A check valve with a fitting is screwed into one of the adapters, and a hose from the compressor must be attached here so that air enters from below to form foam. And an adapter with a fixed foam tablet is placed in the other hole. After that, a hose is attached to it. A spray bottle is attached to the other end of it (you can take a regular, garden one).

Modernization methods

When the question of creating a foaming agent is closed, everything is already there, it works great, you always want to use it as comfortably as possible. There are many innovations to come up with here. Someone attaches an extra spray. Others attach a pressure washer attachment instead of a tube. It is possible to make the structure more portable by simply installing it on a frame with casters. And also a lot of other things ... The main thing is to understand how the installation works, and then, based on this, decide what can be replaced or modified.

A foaming agent made (using one of the methods described above), of course, is unlikely to be suitable for industrial use, but it will perfectly cope with the task of washing the car several times a week. Having such a foaming agent at home, you will always have practically free, at the same time effective and very fast car wash.
