Do-it-yourself repair of wall-mounted gas boilers. In what cases is it possible to independently repair gas boilers? Repair materials and tools

Many problems with a gas boiler can be fixed with your own hands, without resorting to the expensive services of a gas service or equally expensive private specialists for servicing and setting up gas equipment. The only rule, which we will immediately mention, is that you need to understand what you are doing and for what purpose.

Seasonal service

Seasonal maintenance of a gas boiler consists of cleaning it from contaminants and checking its performance. To access the boiler elements, it is necessary to dismantle the casing or casing. To do this, we decide on the method of fastening it, different models boilers this can be done in different ways. Most often these are several self-tapping screws and several latches in the upper part of the casing.

Having gained access to the internal parts of the boiler, we do not remove anything else when performing seasonal maintenance. Using a soft metal brush, a toothbrush and fine-grained sandpaper, we begin to remove carbon deposits from all parts of the boiler:

  • heat exchanger;
  • burners;
  • igniter, if available.

We use the above-mentioned tool wherever it is convenient, without putting too much pressure on the metal brush. Next, use a compressor to blow out the accumulated dust. You can use a rubber tube or a tube from a medical dropper by simply blowing into it and directing its other end into the boiler.

Important! Any work on the boiler is carried out with the gas valve closed.

Using a thin awl or a strong needle, you need to clean all the holes on the burner and igniter, and then, after cleaning them again, for example, with a toothbrush, blow them out again. If there are overhead sensors, the places where they contact the parts of the boiler should be lightly sanded with sandpaper and then wiped with a soft woolen cloth.

The ignition and flame control electrodes can be cleaned well only with a woolen cloth, without the use of cleaning agents. If there are submersible temperature sensors, it is necessary to remove them from the sleeves, remove the liquid present from the sleeve, thoroughly clean the sleeve inside using a small metal brush or a loose piece steel cable, suitable size. After rough cleaning, clean the sleeve with a cloth wrapped around a screwdriver, then fill the sleeve two-thirds full machine oil and install the sensor.

After completing this work, the boiler is thoroughly vacuumed. In accessible places, clean dust and dirt with a damp cloth. We put the casing in place. We check the presence of draft in the chimney by attaching a sheet the size of a notebook to the chimney opening, or by blowing a stream of smoke into the ignition hole of the igniter, gas tap on the descent to the boiler must be closed.

We check places of seals and possible gas leaks using the soaping method. If there is normal draft, a test run of the boiler is performed, which must be filled with coolant. In parallel with the work on cleaning the boiler, it is visually inspected for mechanical damage and coolant leaks. At this point, seasonal maintenance can be considered complete.

Cleaning the heat exchanger

Produced by a solution of hydrochloric acid, purchased in a retail chain and intended specifically for this purpose. Cleaning is carried out for the main heat exchangers of wall-mounted gas boilers and heat exchangers for hot water preparation. The cross-section of the channels of such heat exchangers is small, which is why they are susceptible to contamination by salt deposits.

As a rule, the water jacket of floor-standing gas boilers is not cleaned. To perform cleaning, the heat exchanger must be removed. To do this, remove the boiler casing, unscrew the supply pipes to the heat exchanger, after draining the water from the boiler.

We remove the heat exchanger from the boiler. Wear rubber gloves and use plastic container for collecting spent acid. The method is not complicated. Carefully pour the acid solution into the heat exchanger until it is completely filled. If the heat exchanger is clogged with scale, active foam will be released. Leave the heat exchanger for 10-15 minutes.

We drain the spent acid into a container and refill the heat exchanger with a new portion. We wait the same ten minutes. Drain the solution and wash the heat exchanger running water. We put a piece of hose on the nearest water tap and spill water on the heat exchanger. Let's fill the heat exchanger again with an acid solution. If there is no active release of foam, and when the heat exchanger is spilled with water, no significant resistance to flow is visible, it means that the heat exchanger has been washed and can be reinstalled in the reverse order.

Cleaning the burner from carbon deposits

The method for cleaning the burner from carbon deposits has already been described above. However, when heavy soot it is not always possible to cope using only mechanical cleaning. For such cases, special chemicals. It makes no sense to recommend anything; all the remedies are quite effective. The cleaning method boils down to applying the product in the form of a solution to the surface to be cleaned, leaving it for a certain time and then removing the exfoliated carbon deposits, more often mechanically. You should familiarize yourself in more detail with the cleaning method with one or another product when purchasing it.

In particular severe cases, for example, if coolant gets on the burner, it must be completely removed from the boiler and immersed in a cleaning solution for several hours. Then remove the burner and ignite it in the flame of a portable gas burner. After applying the solution again, use a metal brush or brush to remove any remaining carbon deposits.

Checking the smoke exhaust duct

The smoke exhaust duct is checked using a mirror. We insert the mirror into the channel under small angle. In the mirror we should see the light at the end of the chimney. When performing this operation, it is convenient to use a so-called selfie stick with a mirror attached to it.

Eliminating water leaks at pipeline connections

To eliminate the leak, you need to unpack the connection, clean the threads of old tow and paint. Then, using FUM tape, sealing thread or thread locker, pack the connection again. Check the quality of work by filling the pipeline and boiler with water.

Checking and eliminating gas leaks

All accessible gas leak points must be washed with a soap solution or special means to check for gas leaks. The solution for washing is prepared from laundry soap, planing it into a container with warm water and stirring until thick foam is obtained. When there is a gas leak, the foam will blow out soap bubble. You can fix a leak in the same way as water leaking through threaded connections.

Burner replacement

Replacing a gas boiler burner will require more attention and care. You should purchase a new burner of the exact same model as the one installed on your boiler. Never install a burner that is not designed for your boiler model.

The beginning is the same - remove the boiler casing. Having gained access to the burner, we carefully inspect the tubes and sensors connected to the burner. Their location should be remembered so that when assembling a new burner you do not confuse which one is connected where.

How to remove gas burner. 1. Fastening the burner to the combustion chamber body. 2. Wires of the electrode igniter and flame sensor. 3. Gas-air mixture supply pipe

Due to the wide variety of boiler models, it is impossible to give specific recommendations, but in any case the following will be present:

  • gas supply tube to the burner;
  • gas pressure sensor to the burner;
  • gas valve.

There may be a control tube from the draft sensor or an electrical connection (wires) from the same draft sensor or temperature sensor. If you use a burner of the same model as yours, remembering and connecting all the wires and tubes will not be difficult.

Replacing a hand burner installed in a wood stove is even easier to cope with. We unscrew the screws that secure it to the plate and two tubes: gas supply and gas supply to the igniter. We take out the old burner, insert a new one, screw on the tubes, and tighten the burner mounting bolts.

It is not worthwhile to repair the primitive automation of such a burner; the result may lead to unsafe operation of the boiler. The most difficult task is replacing the burner of a wall-mounted gas boiler, which is stuffed with electronics and a large number of sensors. But there is no need to panic here either, the principle is the same: it is good to remember the location of all connections to the burner.

Trying to increase their importance, gas specialists say that such a burner should be “tied” to the boiler by flashing the electronic unit or adjusting the boiler. The burner is just iron and cannot be adjusted in any way. The combustion itself may require adjustments, but this is no longer related to replacing the burner itself. If the burner is made for the boiler model on which it is installed, then the combustion will be correct, however, provided that no attempt was made to regulate it on the old burner.

Replacing the temperature sensor

The need to replace the temperature sensor arises when, when setting a specific temperature regime operation, the boiler either does not comply with it, or, even worse, goes into boiling mode, which can lead to rupture of the water jacket of the boiler or its heat exchanger.

Temperature sensors according to the installation method in the boiler can be overhead and submersible. Clip-on sensors are installed on boiler pipes on clips that press the sensor to this pipe. Replacing them is quite simple. Disconnect the old one and install the new one. We put the chip (electrical contact) in place of the old one.

Immersion sensors can be of two types: direct immersion and located in a sleeve filled with oil. When replacing the first ones, it is necessary to drain the water from the boiler and unscrew the sensor. Pay attention to how the threads were sealed at the sensor mounting location. This could be as simple as tapered threads, using thread locker (glue), gaskets, or O-rings. Sealing with flax and other materials is not used. Using the same sealing method, install new sensor.

When replacing sensors installed in sleeves, there is no need to drain water from the boiler. After releasing the fixing nut, pull out the sensor, check for oil in the sleeve, install a new sensor, securing it with the nut. Most simple option such a sensor is an alcohol thermometer installed in a sleeve for visual control temperature in the boiler.

Features of Immergaz boilers

Home distinctive feature gas boilers Immergas Eolo Star and Immergas Nike Star are as follows:

Grundfos pump
  • Equipped with bypass With automatic system regulation installed in the pumping system. Serves as protection against boiling of the heat exchanger, and also makes it possible to synchronize the operation of the pump and the hydraulic resistance of the heating system.
  • The fitting, which is located at the connection between the boiler and the chimney, allows measure the vacuum created in the fan. This fitting makes it possible to detect a breakdown and fix it in a short period of time.
  • To measure flow temperature reed sensor installed, its advantage is its simplicity and high degree of reliability.
  • Provided low consumption adjustment mode in the hot water circuit, that is, at low flow rates or when the inlet water temperature is very low. At the output you will have a stable temperature without jumps.
  • Most Common Error Codes and Troubleshooting Methods

Let's try to figure out what the error codes for the Immergaz gas boiler mean. The most common error is 01, it is the ignition is blocked. Let's look at each error in more detail.

    01

Ignition blocking. The boiler is designed so that it switches on automatically. If the burner has not ignited after ten seconds, a lockout occurs. To remove it, click on reset.

If the boiler turns on after a long period of inactivity, you will need to remove the blockage because air has accumulated in the gas line. If the unit turns on quite often, contact qualified help to a specialist.

    02

Error 02 - the safety thermostat is triggered, overheating has occurred, the flame control is faulty. If the temperature begins to rise during normal operation of the device, the protective function. Wait until the temperature drops to the desired level, then press the reset key. If this problem occurs frequently, seek help from a specialist.

    03

Error 03 appears on the display when the smoke thermostat is triggered. That is, the fan is malfunctioning; to solve the problem, remove the housing. Then open the chamber, it houses a motor that draws air out of the combustion chamber. Open it by unscrewing the screws, clean its blades from accumulated dirt, this can be done with a brush. Lubricate the bearings and reinstall everything.

    04

Error 04 - high resistance of electromechanical contacts. The contact is blocked; the reason may be a failure of the protective thermostat or the minimum permissible water pressure sensor. Turn off the device, and after a couple of minutes try to restart it, or try closing the contact of the limit thermostat.

    Water pressure sensor

If this does not work, close the minimum pressure contacts. Test the contact at the smoke exhaust pressure switch using the same method, after turning on the fan. If you find a breakdown, replace the element. If this does not work, you need repairs performed by a qualified specialist and diagnostics of the board.

    06

Error 06 - the NTC sensor in the hot water supply system has broken down. To identify and repair, you must contact service center.

    10

Error 10 - low pressure in the system. Error e10 occurs when the pressure in the system drops when it is less than 0.9 bar. The first step is to try restarting; if the error remains, you need to check the following.

The cause may be a heat exchanger leak, check it, if you find a leak, fix it. To eliminate this, use the make-up lever, it looks like a screw, turn it counterclockwise, with this action water from the water supply will flow into the heating, monitor the pressure values, when the number is 1.3, close the valve.

    11

Error 11. The smoke pressure thermostat is triggered. When the chimney does not work well, the boiler is blocked; after half an hour, it restarts if the draft has become sufficient. If more than three shutdowns occur in a row, the display with an error code lights up red.

    Smoke pressure switch

To unlock the boiler, press reset. In the instructions, the manufacturer recommends contacting a service center, however, first you can check the chimney draft and clean it.

    27

Error 27. This error indicates insufficient circulation in the heating system. The boiler begins to overheat, the reasons for overheating may be the following: air in the heating pipes, taps are turned off. It is also possible that the circulation pump is blocked; unblock it. The cause may be clogged filters, check and clean. Check the heat exchanger for deposits.

Removing air from the heating system

    28

Error 28 indicates a leak in the water supply circuit, that is, the device heats the heating circuit, and the temperature in the water supply also increases, at a time when it should be constant. Check all faucets in the house for leaks, and also check that the taps are closed.

    Other faults

To the most frequent malfunctions These devices include the following:

Questions regarding the operation of Immergaz boilers

Question: A gas boiler Immergaz eolo star 24 3 e was installed, it showed error 11, what should I do?

Answer: If the pressure in the system has dropped below 0.8 kg, you need to increase the pressure with make-up to 1.2 kg and reset the “RESET” error, then the boiler should start. Possibly insufficient smoke exhaust flow. Check the smoke sensor and fan. There may be dirt in the pipe.

Question: We connected the wall-mounted boiler EOLO MYTHOS 24 2E IMMERGAS, installed it myself, connected everything according to the instructions: voltage stabilizer, brown wire per phase, grounding everything as it should be! During the initial startup, the boiler started up, but a day later it gave me error 01 (ignition block), I reset the error with the "RESET" button, and this repeats several times a day. I don't know what the problem is, can someone help?
    suggest.

Answer: Error 01 - no gas. When it lights up, you need to check for gas in the stove. If it is not there, then contact Gorgaz. If there is, then to the service.

Question: when the Imergaz boiler is turned on, error 10 appears, what should I do?

Answer: The pressure in the heating system has dropped. You need to fill it out.

Question: I have an Imergaz EOLO Star 24 gas boiler installed and connected. Lately Error 11 pops up all the time. I cleaned everything, coaxial pipe, fan, chimney, etc. But the error still does not go away. On the street strong wind The house immediately gets cold.

When you turn on the hot water, after a few seconds the boiler begins to crackle and the water temperature quickly begins to rise on the indicator. If you turn off the hot water supply, then the water supply is very short. I would say that the boiler is not heating up required quantity cold water into the tank and begins to heat itself. What to do in this case?

Answer: Clean the DHW filter (flask).

Question: The situation is the following, we bought a house, 130 square meters, a wall-mounted immergas boiler is installed. At first repair work everything was fine, I worked and worked. Once I entered the house, I discovered that the batteries were not hot, just warm, I looked at the boiler, but the red light was constantly on, I finally got through to the technician, he told me to do a reset (RESET), I did it, the boiler started working, the next day the situation
repeated! But in our city, no one has ever encountered such boilers, and everyone advises changing it! I don’t know what to do, everything is too expensive to repair.

Answer: This occurs due to freezing of the exhaust pipe to remove burnt gases. If you look at the boiler from above, there are hatches near the exhaust pipe exit from the boiler on the left and right; open one of them and the problem is solved.

Question: We open the feed to the gas boiler Immergaz EOLO STAR 24 3e and nothing can be heard as it works, and the pressure is at 0.8! What to do?

Answer: The only problem is the pressure in DHW system, it is less than in the heating system. You need to increase the pressure using a pump or buy a pump for the hot water system.

Question: We installed and connected the Immergaz Nike star 23 kw wall-mounted boiler, which has been in operation for about 4 years. This is our second year. It will be the third winter and it seems that the overall temperature is lower. It should be warmer. When igniting, it starts clicking - about 5-6 seconds. Then it works for 40 seconds or up to a minute and goes out. What could it be?

Answer: Check the return filter, if installed.

Question: The house has a gas boiler Immergas Eolo Star 24 sq. house 160 sq. What is better: a temperature sensor or a boiler for the temperature of the heating circuit?

    Answer: Install a room thermostat.

Question: Please advise, I want to install an immergas victrics 26 2i boiler, house 100 m2, panel vulture, bottled gas, they say it is an economical boiler, because... the lower limit of operation is 5 kW, I understand that I will have to install large radiators because I don’t have a heated floor, I want to use it in 40/50 mode. It’s clear that it’s a bit expensive, I’m willing to spend money, is it a good model and is it worth installing?

Answer: A condensing boiler is beneficial at low temperatures. You will really have to double the power of the radiators (approximately), spending about 60-70% on this Money, additionally. A condensing boiler saves approximately 25-30% of gas.

But will you be able to recoup it in the end:

The cost of boilers is two times different.
    - costs of organizing low-temperature conditions.
    - more expensive spare parts (differ by 2-3 times, some by 4 times).
    - more expensive service maintenance annual.

Boiler Victrix 26 2i - can modulate up to 3 kW.

Question: Tell me what is better to switch the boiler to a lower power or install an external temperature sensor, otherwise it often turns on and works for a couple of minutes.

Answer: You have a small room area: Be sure to buy a room thermostat. When installing it, it is recommended to set the heating temperature to 70 degrees on the boiler.

Question: We connected the Imergaz Eolo Star 24 boiler, but the water pressure drops and displays error 10. When I add pressure, the boiler starts and runs after a while and turns off again. What's this expansion tank covered?

Answer: No, not expansion tank. There may be problems in the heating system or in the boiler (heat exchanger), etc.

Question: When the DHW is turned on, either hot or cold water flows. Code E-27 is displayed, but the DHW pressure is good, what could it be?

Answer: Setting up the boiler, if it started immediately after the first start-up. So whatever - gas block does not modulate or is clogged with chips in the pipe, flow switch, etc.

Question: Tell me, have you installed an immergas boiler, it heats the water great, but the heating doesn’t heat at all?

Answer: 1. Please turn on the winter mode (snowman). Then the boiler will start working in heating mode.

    2. Look at the set temperature of the coolant (water) in the heating system (buttons with a picture - radiator). Maybe there is simply no need to work in heating mode - summer, warm.

    3. If you use a room thermostat, then look at what temperature is set on it. Maybe there is simply no need to work in heating mode - summer, warm.

    4. If the boiler is not working properly, it should go into emergency mode and indicate an error code on the display. Follow the instructions in the user manual or call customer service.

Question: Yesterday we got connected to the Immergas Eolo Star boiler. During the briefing, they explained that during summer operation of the boiler, you can use either warm or cold water. Those. cannot be mixed. Explain why?

Answer: You can install any comfortable temperature preparing hot water. And in any mode (winter, summer). They simply recommend setting a comfortable hot water temperature, so that the cooked hot water, mix with cold as little as possible. This is to save gas. For example, a comfortable water temperature is 42-43 C, then set it to 45-46 C, not 55 C.

Question: We have an Immergas gas boiler connected. Can you tell me what is the correct temperature to set in summer?

Answer: DHW temperature. - Turn it on in the summer summer mode(umbrella) and set yourself a comfortable temperature of hot water, as in other things in winter. Heating temperature - If it suddenly becomes cold and there is a need for heating, then turn on winter mode(snowman). And also set any coolant temperature. The best thing, of course, use a room thermostat.

Question: I have an Imergaz eolo star 24 3e boiler installed, the problem is that when I turn on the hot water, the boiler makes a wheezing sound and wheezes until I turn off the water, what could this be?

Answer: The boiler needs to be serviced: the heat exchanger is clogged and needs to be flushed. Clean the fan; when the boiler is turned on in DHW mode, the boiler goes to maximum work, and the fan cannot cope due to dust (dirt), noise and vibration begins.

Question: I have an IMMERGAS NIKE STAR gas boiler. Eight months in use. Summer mode is now enabled. There is no hot water. Displays error code 10. Water pressure is normal. But if you switch to winter mode, hot water appears. How to find out the reason?

Answer: Error 10 - no pressure in the heating system. Options: problem with the heat exchanger, the make-up valve does not hold.

Question: I installed a new Immergas turbocharged boiler, 01 is flashing. I rebooted - it doesn’t help, I called a specialist and replaced it with another new board, it still gives the 01 signal. What should I do?

Answer: 1. Check whether there is gas at all in the house. Turn on gas stove, if there is no gas there, then call the gas utility. If there is gas in the stove, then open the gas tap, sometimes people forget to open it.

    Call a specialist:

Check the gas valve setting to minimum.
    - check the gas valve for modulation (drive it)
    - it happens that the valve sticks (knock on it, and it will start working without problems), this can only happen when the boiler is put into operation for the first time. if problems are visible, replace it.

Check the grounding, there are cases under certain conditions when the flame ionization sensor does not work and displays error 01.

Question: It’s been six months since the Immergaz Eolo mini boiler was connected. The problem is that the ignition periodically did not work, mainly for hot water, and at first fault code 04 was displayed. After the preventive maintenance, it worked perfectly for half a day, after which the ignition disappeared altogether, neither the hot water nor the heating works, the display does not show a fault code. What is the reason?

Answer: The problem is in the control board, or in the ignition electrode (which happens very rarely).

Question: Tell me, who knows whether this problem can be eliminated at all. I have an Immergas boiler connected, almost new, only 1 year old. There is no constant temperature in the DHW system, no matter what temperature you set it, washing is unpleasant, the water flows either hot or cold, what can be done? And so everything works properly, no errors are displayed.

Answer: It shouldn't be that way. The boiler has a modulation function, and the boiler must instantly respond to the water flow and its temperature. It must also clearly maintain the set temperature. This may be due to incorrect settings of the boiler or it was not set up at all. It is necessary to know whether this was from the very beginning (the first launch) or happened during the process.

Question: my Imergas boiler EOLO STAR 24 3 E has been running for three years, now sometimes this problem occurs when turning on the hot water, the pressure in the heating system drops and error 10 blinks. What can I see?

Answer: Close the heating system feed tap tightly. Call the service, you need to replace the heat exchanger (this can only happen during annual flushing of the heat exchanger).

Question: Boiler Immergas Eolo Star 23KW. The boiler is about 6 years old, recently the pressure has dropped to 0, often after using hot water for 10 minutes or more. It drops to zero several times a day. I checked the RB, it turned out the pressure was 0. I bought a pump with a pressure gauge and pumped it up to 1 bar. I filled the system to 1.2 bar, in the morning error 10, pressure 0. Day 3 I’m experimenting, looking for the problem.

The make-up valve is turned on and does not flow, I checked the discharge valve, screwed on the Mayevsky valve to check. I shut off the heating and hot water circuit from the boiler at night to understand where the leak was - in the system or in the boiler itself - overnight the pressure dropped from 1.2 to 0.5, error 10. This means the problem is in the boiler itself. I checked the pressure in the RB again, 1 bar. For the experiment I added up to 1.7.

It didn't help, it crashes. A day later, that is, today, I drained all the air from the RB and pumped it back up to 1 bar. On this moment, after 4 hours of observation, the pressure remains 1.8 on the pressure gauge at the moment. I hope everything is back to normal. The question is, and yet, if the pressure drops again, where to look next, considering that I have already checked everywhere. The last thought is that the problem may be a breakdown of the heat exchanger wall, when water from the heating circuit leaks into the DHW circuit and, accordingly, the pressure drops when using DHW. What are your thoughts?

Answer: Clean the filter on the heating system. If cleaning the filter does not help, call service and repair the pump.

Question: I have an immergas boiler connected, the display is flashing 10 pressure 0.5, I checked there are no leaks anywhere. I turn the pressure regulator or nothing. the pressure does not rise. What to do?

Answer: This means low pressure in the cold water supply, and the heating system cannot be pumped up. Reduce the pressure in the heating system and try to increase it back to 0.5 atm. If it works, then you need to pump up the heating system using a pump. The pressure gauge may be broken, but if you drain water from the heating system, it will show the same pressure. Replacement.

Question: when you turn on the hot water, the Immergas Eolo mini boiler begins to vibrate, the higher the temperature, the greater the vibration, and when you turn on the water and heating at the same time, nothing works at all! what could it be?

Answer: Please do annual maintenance. Fan cleaning. If that doesn't help, then you need to look at the balancing rings. Or replacing the entire fan. It is impossible to turn on heating and hot water at the same time in boilers (of any manufacturer). Priority is always hot water.

Gas water heaters Ariston (Ariston) instructions, connection and repair manual, electrical and logical diagram.

In what cases can you repair a gas boiler yourself? Often, during the operation of this equipment, problems arise - non-compliance with the temperature regime for heating water, breakdown of the pump or fan. Some of these defects can be eliminated with your own hands, but first you need to know what to do on our own forbidden.

    What can you repair yourself?

Modern gas boilers are reliable devices that provide efficient heating coolant. Their design can be divided into 3 main parts - burner, safety blocks and heat exchange unit with additional elements (circulation pump, expansion tank, fan). If a breakdown occurs in the first two, you need to call a specialist.

Self-repair of gas boilers is only possible in that part of the equipment in which the gas supply is not involved. Any intervention or change in design (configuration) can lead to a serious emergency situation. The main types can be distinguished restoration work, which can be done at home without the involvement of specialists.

    • Washing the heat exchanger. This is done using special pumps or manually. The latter requires dismantling the block.
    • Problems with traction. Often the cause is a clogged chimney.
    • Failure of the fan, expansion tank, pump.

First of all, you should read the boiler operating instructions. In addition to recommendations for conducting preventative work given detailed description designs. If this document is missing, you can get the necessary documentation on the manufacturer’s website.

    Cleaning the heat exchanger

A large layer of scale on the inner walls of the heat exchanger can cause uneven heating of the water. This is due to a significant decrease in thermal conductivity. As soon as the water warms up to desired temperature— the boiler automation switches off (reduces) the burner power. But due to high inertia, the next “batch” of coolant will heat up much more slowly. As a result, there is an alternation of threads with different temperature indicators. This phenomenon causes the greatest discomfort during the use of hot water.

To remove scale, clean the heat exchanger. It is best to dismantle the structure - this way you can verify its integrity and at the same time. The order of work is as follows:

    • Turn off the power supply and shut off the gas supply.
    • Close the taps for water supply and its distribution throughout the heating and hot water system.
    • Remove the front cover of the boiler.
    • Discharge of remaining water. For DHW - open the tap with hot water; for heating - a special valve inside the structure.
    • Dismantling the heat exchanger. It is important to remember the order in which it is attached.

For washing, you can use special compounds or make a solution yourself. The main ingredients are vinegar and lemon acid. Having previously cleaned the surface of rust, the heat exchanger is placed in a container with a cleaning composition. The exposure time depends on the level of blockage. Usually 1.5-2 hours are enough for complete cleaning.

    Lack of traction

Periodic shutdown of the burner can be caused by poor draft in the chimney. The sensor signals a large number of CO² and the boiler switches off automatically. To clean, you first need to check the condition of the chimney.

Most often problems arise in winter period. They may be associated with the formation of ice on the outer part of the structure. As a result, the useful diameter of the chimney decreases, which directly affects the draft parameters. To minimize this factor, it is recommended to make external insulation or install a chimney with a layer of basalt wool.

A large amount of soot is a rare occurrence for gas boilers. However, with a long service life it may occur. To resolve this, follow these steps:

    1. Disconnect the pipe from the boiler and completely dismantle it.
    2. Clean with a special brush inner surface chimney.
    3. Using a household vacuum cleaner, blow out the structure.

If the gas boiler is connected to a stationary pipe (made of brick), you need to use special tools to remove soot. They are brushes attached to steel rope. After cleaning, most of the soot will end up in the boiler. Therefore, it should be rinsed thoroughly.

    Hardware problems

If individual modules (expansion tank, pump or fan) fail, it is recommended to invite specialists to replace them. Qualified repair of gas boilers is possible only if you have a set of tools and a certain practice in performing this work.

The main problem is diagnosing the breakdown. To do this, specialists use instruments that identify the faulty unit. Based on the information received, a plan for further repairs is drawn up.

To avoid emergency situations With gas boiler It is recommended to adhere to the rules for operating the equipment. This will significantly increase the maintenance-free service life of the device.
