Buy lamps for vaz 2114 white light. LED lamps in low beam - high beam

Hello again)

I decided to change the lamps in the headlights of the low and high beam in order to improve the light performance of the headlights on my car. Before that, there were OSRAM, they were shining, but there was not enough lighting. The far is normal, but the near one is poor, while the headlights are clean, they got dirty after 20 km, and then, at least on the Moscow Ring Road, brake and wipe. And for a long time I wanted to replace all the lamps with white ones, it looks much better on my white Swallow. There was an option to put halogen white lamps and do not suffer, as it turned out, the effect is a little, and they get dirty twice as fast, due to the high heating temperature of the headlight glass. They also work at the expense of high temperature warming up the thread is much shorter than the standard ones. And the LEDs are reliable, shine brighter and with white light. They also give a guarantee for the lamps for 1 year in the store. And since I was not interested in the question of price, I just wanted to put it on and forget about the lamps, not being afraid that somewhere along the way they might simply burn out. And it's not so easy to change, and our weather conditions are always different, and changing in the rain or in the cold is horror.

Sooner or later, every driver faces the question of choosing a head light element. As a rule, these are h4 lamps with a kind of base. The most common option is h4 halogen lamps, and their popularity is due to a number of advantages.

Why halogen

When it comes to replacing any parts, car enthusiasts are looking at price first. The cost of replacement elements began to play an even greater role; in the conditions of the crisis, expensive brands began to enjoy less and less demand. However, almost every manufacturer produces halogen-based models that belong to the budget category and are much cheaper.

Energy consumption also plays an important role. And here the halogen is perfect choice... In this case, it turns out that you can save not only money, but also the battery charge. This reduces the risk of being left without a car in the morning if you forgot to turn off the headlights in the evening. That is why halogen bulbs are often the choice of a sophisticated driver.

Principle of operation

In fact, an h4 halogen lamp, this is an ordinary incandescent light bulb. However, there are still some differences. During production, halogen vapors (usually bromine or iodine) are added to the flask. As a result, the service life is increased and it becomes possible to increase the limiting temperature of the spirals. At the same time, the brightness increases significantly, which makes them such an attractive option when choosing lighting elements.

Halogen bulbs used in the automotive industry have no disadvantages, as only the use alternating current may reveal an insignificant negative (low frequency noise when used with a dimmer).

The principle of operation itself allows the production of small bulbs, since the tungsten deposit does not remain on the bulb. The thing is that, by reacting with halogens, it either burns out or returns to the spiral (which makes it possible to increase the temperature).

There are also relatively new IRC halogen models. Their peculiarity lies in the fact that the bulb has a coating that reflects infrared radiation inside the bulb. This significantly reduces energy consumption and nearly doubles the lifespan.

Thus, having a number of advantages, halogen is gradually replacing conventional incandescent bulbs from the market. Low cost and high efficiency, along with their durability, make them the best selling in the world.

Why do we need all-weather models

There are several types of lamps, one of which is all-weather. Key feature of this type consists in the fact that on the inner wall of the flask during manufacture is applied special coverage, which has interference properties, which gives the light a yellowish tint. This is to improve the contrast of the illuminated area, especially during bad weather. For example, the light of an ordinary light bulb h4 is strongly reflected from falling raindrops, which often blinds the driver, interfering with the view. Yellowish light is less reflective and less irritating to the eye when it reflects, which is more beneficial for driving in bad weather.

In addition, a car with h4 all-weather lamps is more noticeable on the road, both in fog and in pouring rain, which significantly reduces the likelihood of a road accident.

Safety is a top priority for all weather models.

The most common types, as shown by the h4 lamp test, are:

  • IPF H4 Superbeam,
  • GENERAL ELECTRIC H4 AllDay,
  • PHILIPS H4 Weather Vision,
  • NARVA H4 Azzurro.

Most bright lamps h4 listed are PHILIPS H4 Weather Vision and GENERAL ELECTRIC H4 AllDay. They show the best result among all-weather ones, however, they are much more expensive. All of them are bright enough, but it's up to you to decide which h4 bulbs are best. It all depends on individual requirements.

Test and comparison of models with increased luminous efficiency

Safety is our everything. If you drive frequently in the dark, you need to take care of good lighting... Special samples come to the rescue in such a situation. increased light output... Manufacturers offer many options, but we'll look at the most notable ones:

  • Koito VWhite showed good results when tested. Full compliance with European safety standards. This sample will not damage the car's wiring and will perform well under lighting. The luminous flux fully complies with GOST, showing a result of 1500 lm for high beam and 930 lm for low beam.

The excellent geometry of the light beam is also an important advantage of this model. It will not dazzle drivers in the oncoming lane, the control point fully complies with all the rules and regulations. The lamp perfectly illuminates the areas of near and far roadsides.

Bottom line: High light output and high illumination angle are undoubtedly big advantages. Clear cut-off lines and protection against glare from oncoming traffic are good functionality for its price category. There is only one drawback, and it is not essential - all the inscriptions are in Japanese.

  • GE MegaLight Ultr a not that very good, but still worth the money. No damage to the wiring, energy consumption is within acceptable limits. The luminous flux in this case is 995 at low beam and 1520 at high beam. These parameters are within the permissible limits of GOST, although slightly lower than the recommended ones.

The cut-off test passed, though not perfect. A dark spot in the right corner of the upper zone and just above and to the right of the control line, noticeably spoil the picture. This does not affect the illumination strongly, but it is unpleasant.

For drivers driving in the oncoming lane, the light of this model is not safe, however, as well as for passing ones. At the control point, it shows 1.05 lm, which is half the allowable value.

Bottom line: This sample does an excellent job of illuminating the near shoulder. Inconsistency with GOST and UNECE standards. You can use this model in principle, but other drivers may not like it.

  • Osram Cool Blue Intense a good option, but not the most reliable. When measuring the consumed electricity, no deviations from the permissible values were detected. The luminous flux is also good: 965 lm near, and far 1655 lm. These indicators meet the requirements of GOST.

Drivers, both driving nearby and those driving in the opposite lane, are not dazzled. All indicators comply with European standards. The roadsides will be well lit, even too much. They overdid it, the requirements were exceeded, but not by much.

Bottom line: Excellent light beam, and roadside lighting - the model is clearly worth the money. During the tests, several samples were used, one of which burned out - a trifle, but unpleasant. Democratic cost and good performance give her every chance of success.

Comparison of h4 lamps shows that the best result is shown by products from Japanese manufacturers. They are not only reliable, but also meet all the required standards. Without losing your own comfort, you do not interfere with other drivers on the highway and within the city. For example, the device Koito lamps VWhite gives you the best possible test results. However, only you can decide which lamps to choose h4.

When choosing, you need to take into account everything, including your own requests. The question often arises - which low beam lamps are better than h4. Many drivers recommend OSRAM Cool Blue Intense 4200K as they have the most best performance in the near mode. Test halogen lamps h4 showed the best result and full compliance with the requirements for this model.

Headlight adjustment

One of the most important road safety operations is headlight adjustment. Let's try to figure out how to adjust the headlights at home. The whole process is broken down into stages:

  1. First you need to mark the wall;
  2. Then mark up the bulbs;
  3. And the setting itself.

It is also necessary to check the serviceability of the suspension, and the distribution of the load.

  • It is necessary to drive up to the wall end-to-end, and then determine the center of the car and the central axes for each of the bulbs.
  • Then drive back about 8 meters, leave the car and approach the wall. Now you need to connect the centers of the two bulbs with a solid line. Also, vertical lines need to be drawn through their centers, and the same should be done with the point where the center of the car is visually located.
  • Turn on the low beam and start adjusting by tightening the adjusting bolts to obtain a perfect beam.
  • There is no need to manually adjust the high beam, it will adjust automatically.
  • So it can be adjusted. When you reach the ideal setting, you will avoid dazzling drivers and get maximum illumination of the road ahead. Do not forget about the choice of a light bulb, this also plays an important role.

    Follow all safety precautions when setting up or replacing light bulbs. The conditions in which it is worth adjusting the headlights are usually described in the documentation for the car. Keep in mind that safe driving isn't all about lighting.

    According to the traffic rules, when driving on the highway in the autumn-winter period, even in the daytime, you need to turn on the dipped beam. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the performance lighting fixtures the car and change the lamps in time so that there is no emergency... In this article, we will look at how the dipped beam lamp is replaced with a VAZ 2114, and we will also get acquainted with some malfunctions of the lighting system and how to fix them.

    Replacing the lamp

    So, if the low beam on the VAZ 2114 does not work, then, most likely, the reason lies in a burned out lamp. Most often this happens if the replacement of lighting elements has been performed for a long time. Although, new lamps often burn out, which is associated with a large number of low-quality products on the auto parts market.

    Of course, before replacing a light bulb, you will first have to face its choice. On a VAZ 2114 car, two-filament paws of the H4 standard are used, which are responsible not only for near, but also for distant lighting.

    Advice!
    If the lamp burns out on the road, instead of the dipped headlights on 2114, you can turn on fog lights, if they are, of course, available.

    The lamps on the market may differ in the principle of operation, on which many of their characteristics depend. Below we will take a closer look at all their types:

    Lamp type Peculiarities
    Halogen Currently, they are the most common.

    Among the advantages of halogen bulbs are such points as:

    • Low price;
    • No installation required additional equipment;
    • They illuminate the road well in fog, rain and snow.

    Among the shortcomings, one can single out fragility, as well as relatively low power. luminous flux- no more than 1550 lm.

    Xenon (gas discharge) Provide a more powerful luminous flux - up to 3300 lm.

    In addition, they have other advantages:

    • Are more durable;
    • They differ in white or bluish glow, as close as possible to daylight.

    However, along with the advantages, they also have disadvantages, which include:

    • High price;
    • The need to install ignition units;
    • Turn on with a slight delay;
    • Poorly lit the road in wet weather.
    LED They are a new type of lighting elements. Their advantages include durability and low power consumption. As for the power of the luminous flux, it is somewhat inferior to xenon.

    LED lighting elements are also quite expensive and need to be installed with ignition blocks, which is a disadvantage.

    Note!
    It is advisable to change lamps in pairs, as this will provide the same luminous flux from the left and right headlights.
    In addition, they have almost the same durability, so if, for example, the left headlight bulb fails, for example, the right one will probably stop burning soon.

    Replacement procedure

    Replacing a low beam bulb with a VAZ 2114 (it is also a high beam) is carried out in the following sequence:

    • First of all, you need to open the hood and loosen the screws (3) that fix the casing (4).

    • Then you need to press down and remove the tendrils of the spring (3) from the grooves.
    • Next, pull out the block (4) along with the old light bulb.
    • After that, you need to press on the lamp (5) and turn it, after which it can be easily removed from the holder.
    • To place old light bulb install a new one, and then reassemble the headlamp in reverse order.

    Note!
    It is necessary to carry out the above work with gloves so as not to leave on glass flask fat spots.
    If you touched the flask with your hands, fingerprints must be carefully removed with alcohol.
    Otherwise, the light bulb may burn out quickly.

    Here, in fact, is all the instructions for replacing a light bulb. The lighting element in the second headlamp should be replaced in the same way.

    Common malfunctions and their elimination

    If, after replacing the bulbs, the dipped beam on the VAZ 2114 still does not light up, then there may be several reasons for this:

    • Defective fuses;
    • Faulty headlight switch button;
    • Broken wiring.

    Below is a look at how to troubleshoot these problems.

    Replacing fuses

    Fuses are located in special unit, which is located on the left side near the windshield. To replace them with your own hands, you need to open plastic cover and find fuses F12 (responsible for the left headlight) and F13 (responsible for the right headlight).

    If the light comes on after replacing the fuses, you must leave it on for a while to make sure the new fuses do not blow. If they melted quickly, you need to look.

    Note!
    Under no circumstances should the contacts in the fuse box be closed directly, as this can lead to more serious electrical malfunctions or even a fire in the wiring.

    Button replacement

    If replacing the fuses does not help to solve the problem, it is necessary to "ring" all the electricians related to the operation of the headlights. Of course, this will require a low beam wiring diagram for the VAZ 2114 and a special device (multimeter).

    In the photo - a double button for switching headlights

    Often the problem lies in the button. In this case, replacing the low beam switch on the VAZ 2114 will help to solve the problem.

    It is done quite simply:

    • First of all, it should be noted that the low-beam button on the VAZ 2114 is doubled with the high-beam button. To pull out this block, you need to pick it up, for example, with a knife. The operation must be performed carefully so as not to scratch the panel.
    • Next, you need to disconnect the block from the old button and connect to the new one.
    • Then new block switch must be reinstalled.

    Advice!
    When replacing a button, you can immediately install a key backlight diode, which for some reason is not provided by the factory.
    Such a refinement of the low beam button on the VAZ 2114 will allow you to see when the low beam is on and when it is off, which is very convenient in the daytime.

    If the button is operational and, most likely, the relay is faulty (in the diagram - K9), which needs to be replaced with a new one.

    Output

    Problems in the operation of the dipped beam are a common situation for the VAZ 2114. As a rule, they are caused by burnout of lamps, however, sometimes other components of electrical equipment also fail. But, in any case, it is quite possible to eliminate the malfunction on your own.
