Size of doorways: standards and GOST. Dimensions of standard interior doors with frame Height of doorways GOST

To properly install a door in your house, you first need to calculate its dimensions. Please note that standard sizes doorways are clearly regulated by GOST and SNiP. This approach allows you to avoid confusion when designing private houses and multi-storey buildings. In this case, the parameters of the input and interior paintings are selected based on the convenience and intensity of their use.

Of course, when building a house, you don’t have to adhere to standards, since they are more advisory in nature than mandatory. However, following the approved dimensions has its advantages:

  1. Big choice. Almost all manufacturers produce door designs of standardized sizes. Therefore, you can easily select the best door for a specific case.
  2. Budget savings. Buying a custom canvas will cost you 30-50% more because individual order provides for additional labor costs in the manufacture of the product.
  3. Easy installation. The closer the doorway size is to the standard, the easier it will be to seal assembly seams.

Standard sizes of interior doors and openings

It’s good if the openings for internal and entrance doors have standard sizes, since in this case installation work will not take a lot of your time and effort. If the installation location door frame atypical, then you can get out of this situation in two ways:

  • make an individual order, significantly increasing the cost of the design;
  • adjust the dimensions to the existing GOST standards.

In the second case, you will need to either widen the hole in the wall, which is not always possible due to the specific design of the apartment, or puzzle over what and how to seal the doorway so that it is both reliable and attractive.

The dimensions of interior and entrance doors consist of two parameters: the dimensions of the opening and the door leaf itself. At the same time, the standards of domestic and foreign companies are different. Although these differences are small, they can significantly complicate the installation of doors. Most domestic companies in the production of single-leaf interior doors is guided by the following standards: canvas height - 200 or 230 cm, width - 80 or 90 cm, box thickness - 7.5 cm. In this case, the size of the opening in length and width should be 5-10 cm larger, which is due to the presence of wooden or metal and installation seams.

If the opening width is 110 cm or more, then it is recommended to make a double door, in which one part will be movable and the other solid.

The standard width of such structures is (in cm):

  • 30+80;
  • 40+80;
  • 50+90;
  • 90+90.

Double-leaf products are often installed in offices, mansions and cottages. In terms of strength, they are in no way inferior to single-leaf ones, of course, if purchased from trusted manufacturers.

The dimensions of the door leaf also depend on where it will be installed:

  • for bathrooms in small apartments usually doors with a width of 55 cm are used;
  • for kitchens - 70 cm;
  • for bedrooms and children's rooms - 80 or 90 cm.

Thickness interior design is no less important than height and width, since the sound insulation and strength of the canvas directly depend on it. The door thickness can be as follows (in mm):

  • standard - 35-40;
  • mounted - 20-40;
  • from solid wood with a sample of 1/4 - 35-45;
  • from pure wood - 45-55.

Entrance door sizes

Such a concept as the standard size of the entrance opening is losing its relevance every year. This especially applies to private houses, during the construction of which standardization is increasingly fading into the background.

  • if an ordinary wooden product is mounted, then the dimensions will be 204x82.5 cm;
  • for metal structures - 205x86(96) cm;
  • for double-leaf products - 200(205)x160 cm.

How to calculate door sizes yourself?

Before you go to the store and buy an entrance or interior door, you need to calculate its dimensions: width, height and thickness. If you have a doorway, then everything is quite simple. To calculate the width of the future canvas, you first need to measure the width of the opening at at least three points (bottom, middle and top). After this, the assembly seams (10 mm on each side), the width of the opening and the gap between the canvas itself and the jamb (about 5 mm) are subtracted from the smallest value. The height of the doorway is calculated similarly.

To calculate the thickness of the box, you will need to measure the thickness of the wall at three points, and then select the largest value from the results obtained.

Today, almost all companies involved in the production of entrance and interior doors are trying to standardize the dimensions of their products in accordance with established standards. This must be taken into account when building a private house, since a properly planned building will allow you to install standard canvases, thereby saving a significant amount of money on a custom order.

Sections of the article:

In most houses and apartments, the size of the opening is the standard established in Soviet times, regulating the width and height of the passage under the front door. However, in those days, door structures were made mainly of wood and did not have such a wide variety of models. Currently, door manufacturers also adhere to certain conditions for the ratio of height and width of products. However, the principles of sizing now depend on many not only design, but also aesthetic factors.

It is important to remember that entrance doors include not only products installed at the entrance to the apartment or a private house. Entrance doors are also considered entrance doors.

Dimensions of wooden entrance doors according to GOST

A wooden entrance door can have various sizes opening. These values depend on many factors. So, if there is cladding or glazing, the right- and left-side entrance doors have average dimensions of 90 cm in width and 210 cm in height. Factors that determine the dimensions of openings include:

  • Dimensional grid of the internal frame;
  • Number of doors;
  • Threshold strip size.

Mandatory protective strips have dimensions that also depend on the material of manufacture. Wooden crafts have a thickness of 1.6 - 1.9 cm, chipboard - 0.3 cm, and plastic ones do not exceed 0.2 cm.

Dimensions of metal entrance doors according to GOST

The standard parameters of a metal door include dimensions of 203 cm in height in relation to 90 cm in width. When calculating the size of doorways, you should take into account the presence of framing around the perimeter of the entrance. In old buildings it is made of wood and must be removed when replacing the structure. In new houses, in most cases, such edging is made of metal and its removal is extremely difficult. Therefore, most often the width of such a passage is calculated taking into account this element.

In addition, quite often for expansion functionality The width of the door passage can increase significantly. Door structures with two leaves are installed in the enlarged opening.

Metric and English measurement systems

Because the market entrance structures currently offers products not only domestic, but also foreign manufacturers, in everyday life there are various systems of calculations. When selecting a product, it is important to take into account the measuring system used by the manufacturer.

IN metric system standard parameters for products look like this:

  • Simple metal doors have dimensions: height 2.04 m and width 0.826 m;
  • Reinforced metal door - 2.05 m with a width of 0.86 m;
  • The double door has dimensions of 2.419 m in height and 1.910 m in width.

Most foreign manufacturing plants manufacture and label products based on English system measurements. Standard products do not have a wide range and are available in heights of 6 feet and 8 inches, which corresponds to 2032 mm. The width of the products is 2 feet and 9 inches, which in the metric system is 840 mm.

Ratio of door and opening sizes

When calculating the dimensions to select a suitable door structure, the opening for front door is measured at several points and the smallest value is selected. Recommended door sizes for different opening sizes:

  • A passage of 208*88 cm is designed for installation of a canvas with dimensions of 205*85 cm;
  • For openings of 210*92 cm optimal sizes door leaves are 207*89 cm;
  • For an entrance passage of 210*100 cm, metal doors with dimensions of 207*97 cm are intended;
  • The extended passage of 210*127 cm is perfect for a double door structure of 207*120 cm.

When using reinforced type canvases, the size ratios will be slightly different. Thus, a product with dimensions of 2.05 * 0.865 m requires installation of a structure with parameters of 2.08 * 0.9 m into the passage. When installing a structure with dimensions of 2.07 * 0.905 m, a door passage with parameters of 2.1 * 0 is required .94 m. A product with a height of 2.07 * 0.985 m fits a passage of 2.1 * 1.02 m.

Dimensional ratios may differ significantly when installing a door structure with thick natural wood lining.

Standard dimensions for apartment buildings

When installing a metal entrance door into a passage, it is very important to comply with all legal requirements and regulations. Only in this case will the door meet the manufacturer’s stated characteristics. According to building regulations, dimensions depend on the dimensions landing, as well as the materials from which the walls are made.

In new buildings, the opening intended for the entrance metal door has permissible dimensions from 1950 to 1980 mm. At the same time, its width is quite small and ranges from 740 to 760 mm.

In brick houses with a large number of apartments, the openings are large. Thus, the height of structures ranges from 2050 to 2100 mm. The width ranges from 880 to 920 mm.

IN apartment buildings old type of doorways, although they are designed mainly for single-leaf metal constructions, however, they have the largest dimensions. Thus, the nominal height ranges from 2040 to 2600 mm. In this case, the width ranges from 830 to 960 mm. Nine-story residential buildings built after 1970 have standard entrance openings with dimensions up to 2550 mm in height and 1250 mm in width.

It is worth noting that the redevelopment of existing doorways V multi-storey buildings inadmissible without receipt special permission architectural commission. Such strict rules are based on the engineering features of houses and walls, as well as standards fire safety. In addition, when calculating the standards for each house, the expected loads on the walls were taken into account. Therefore, failure to comply with them and unauthorized redevelopment may lead to the formation of cracks in the walls of apartments. At the same time, in private houses any dimensions of entrance doorways and their redevelopment are allowed. However, in this case, it is recommended to comply with the minimum evacuation requirements.

Benefits of using standards

Currently, most input factories metal doors They have a wide range of products with a size range that is as close as possible to standard opening dimensions. At the same time, options decorative finishing for classic standard models is much more than for products made to order according to individual measurements.

Standard doors have a significantly lower cost compared to custom-made products, despite the identical equipment of the structures. In addition, the installation process is simpler and does not require significant costs for adjusting gaps. Another significant advantage is the saving of time during the installation process.

Current standards

Currently, each of the entrance doorways, according to clause 6.9 normative document SNiP 210197 is an object related to emergency exits. Therefore, one of the main requirements is to ensure free and rapid movement in the event of an emergency evacuation. For these purposes door design, located as an entrance, must comply with the minimum acceptable dimensions.

Thus it is regulated that minimum height must exceed 1900 mm. And the width of the doorway for residential premises cannot be less than 800 mm. At the same time, the dimensions of doors for office and other public premises have minimum values of 1900*1200 mm.

Front metal structures of apartments multi-storey buildings their dimensions must match or exceed the width flight of stairs. These requirements are contained in the SNiP document under clause 6.29. Such design solutions, based on calculations, make it possible to ensure safety and evacuation measures for all residents of an apartment building.

In addition, compliance with standards will allow the smooth delivery of large pieces of furniture and large household appliances.

The main materials for the manufacture of entrance doors remain metal and wood. External products must meet two main criteria - dimensions and quality. According to GOST, the sizes of entrance doors are different for metal and wooden structures and they are more applicable for residential premises. It is impossible to systematize the entrance openings of industrial, commercial, and entertainment buildings; there are no GOST regulations for them.

Exterior doors generally come in three main types:

  • Single leaf. Model with one leaf installed in a frame. This option is considered standard with a width of no more than 110 cm.
  • Bivalve. Blocks with two canvases are often common in private homes. In this case, the height of the openings remains standard, and the width increases by 1.5–2 times. Another option provides for unequal width of the sashes, when the narrow part acts as an insert and remains stationary.
  • Doors with side or top leaves (transom). This type of design involves increasing the height or width door block, but maintaining the standard dimensions of the canvas. The doors are often made of glass, which visually makes the entrance less massive and is additional source Sveta.

In residential premises it is customary to install metal swing doors, as they are considered reliable and safe.

Parameters according to standard

State requirements for the dimensions of the opening, frame and canvas were recorded in GOST 24698-81. It was applied to swing wooden doors in residential and public buildings. Moreover, not only the dimensions, but also the materials and rules for installing the unit were strictly regulated.

Today, the strict requirements of GOST are not considered mandatory. But in order to maintain a unified approach, building codes and regulations (SNiP) were developed and adopted.

In particular, the document SNiP2.08.01-89 applies to metal door blocks of residential premises.

The dimensions of the door leaf established by GOST are no longer relevant, since external ordinary and metal insulated doors are supplied together with the frame. Nevertheless, construction companies When constructing not only high-rise residential buildings, but also in private construction, they adhere to the rules of the standard.

For entrance structures there are slightly big sizes than for interior doors. This is due to the need to ensure free entry into the house for residents and the carrying of goods.

The dimensions of any type of block design, regulated by GOST and SNiP, are determined by the following indicators:

1. Height - 207; 237 cm. The choice of a specific indicator depends on the height of the ceiling and the width of the door leaf.

2. The width of the entrance door should not be less than 90–91 cm. Options for the type of structure are allowed:

  • single-leaf – 101;
  • one and a half - 131; 151;
  • bivalve – 191;195.

3. GOST does not strictly regulate the thickness of the door leaf. It is selected depending on the thickness of the walls and the width of the box. But in order to ensure that all the functions of the front door are performed, the thickness of the metal door leaf (sheet) must be at least 2 mm.

In private construction, GOST and SNiP standards are not always taken into account. At the design stage, the width and height are consistent with standard indicators:

  • height – 205 cm;
  • width – 86; 88; 96; 98 cm.

However, there is no need to strictly comply with the indicators.

Foreign manufacturers wishing to establish themselves in Russian market, consciously accepted the norms of our standard. Yes, metal chinese doors fully comply with GOST.

Preparation of the opening, box and canvas

The service life and reliability of the door leaf largely depends on how correctly the opening is prepared.

Today, there is no need to comply with the clearance value according to GOST. Installation methods, materials for sealing and fastening allow you to hang different types doors.

Features of preparation:

  • the box is selected so that it fits effortlessly into the doorway;
  • small gaps are left, then it will be easier to install the box strictly vertically and horizontally.
  • when purchasing the sash and frame separately, it is important to adjust the dimensions of the leaf, while providing millimeter gaps so that movement is not hampered.

It should be taken into account that the size of the openings is directly combined with standard parameters canvases:

  • when choosing overhead structures, the dimensions of the openings should be 3 cm larger than the door ones.
  • metal recessed doors mean that the opening dimensions will be 3.5 cm larger.

It is important to consider: openings in modern buildings and old ones differ in size. In old buildings, the doorway is framed by a wooden frame, which is not taken into account when measuring and is simply removed. In modern buildings, the frame may be metal, in which case it will be difficult to widen the opening.

What should the design be (additional parameters)

Metal doors are produced in accordance with GOST standards.

Requirements that the product must meet:

  • canvases are made from rectangular profiles and sheets;
  • sheets and profiles at corner joints are connected by welding;
  • insulated products are filled between sheets mineral wool, foam plastic, wooden blocks, fiberboard;
  • reinforcement is carried out through vertical and horizontal profiles (at least two);
  • door hinges and anti-removal mechanisms are additionally reinforced with a horizontal profile;
  • allowed inner side made from materials of sufficient strength;
  • canvas weight - no more than 250 kg;
  • if the weight is more than 200 kg, the suspension is made of three loops, and the middle one should be fixed 20 cm below the top one.

Currently, metal entrance doors are not offered by manufacturers on their own. New Constructive decisions are presented in complexes that include a box, a canvas and components.

Standard box size:

  • height – 207; 237;
  • width – 87; 97; 127; 147; 187 cm.

The last numbers in the row are the dimensions used for the input double doors, gaining popularity especially in private households.

What dimensions do you need to know and how to measure?

When preparing to install a new front door or replace an old one, it is important to consider and know how the following dimensions are determined:

  • opening for the block - height, width and depth of the opening in the wall;
  • block - height and width of the assembled product;
  • leaf - height and width of the opening sash;
  • clearance - the width and height of the clearance when the canvas is open at 90º.

The block is measured in several stages:

  1. The width and height are measured from one wall to another. In the presence of old door the platbands are dismantled, freeing the wall.
  2. Measurements are taken in 2-3 places, which allows you to determine distortions and carry out work to narrow or widen the opening.

Today, door openings vary in type and size. The dimensions of new buildings differ significantly from the opening dimensions of Soviet-era buildings. IN different houses openings can narrow, widen, or not be equipped with a niche at the entrance, which is why metal blocks sometimes have different sizes even within the same entrance.

When installing new doors or replacing existing leaves for any purpose, you should know their overall dimensions and prepare an opening of the required size. To save time and Money It is recommended to use ready-made door blocks of standard sizes regulated by GOST for installation. The size of the doors must provide sufficient throughput depending on their purpose and location in the building.

When choosing standard-sized sashes, it is necessary to have suitable opening dimensions. This is not difficult to implement if we build new house, we install a new partition made of plasterboard or brick. When an old canvas is replaced with a new one, the product does not always fit the existing opening, and it has to be modified. Doors for various purposes have several sizes that must be taken into account when preparing the installation opening.

  1. The dimensions of the opening for installing a door block are the height and width of the building structure in which it is planned to install a new door. Another value that influences the choice of doors is the thickness of the building structure itself (wall or partition), that is, the depth of the opening.
  2. The overall size of the block is the height and width finished product assembled, taking into account the thickness of the box elements. In this case, the size of the protruding parts of the platbands is not taken into account.
  3. When purchasing sashes in a retail chain, indicate the size of the leaf, that is, the dimensions of the opening part.
  4. Clear door clearance characterizes the throughput of the leaf and is defined as the width and height when the leaf is open 90⁰.

Standard sizes products and, accordingly, installation openings for their installation are regulated by various regulatory documents. Here is a list of types of doors and regulatory documentation, which corresponds to them:

  • wooden balcony blocks (GOST 11214-86);
  • internal wooden blocks (GOST 6629-88);
  • external wooden blocks (GOST 24698-81);
  • metal blocks (GOST 31173-2003);
  • blocks made of PVC profiles (GOST 30970-2002).

Let us conduct a brief analysis of each type of sashes to determine the size of the openings in building structures for their installation.

  1. Balcony blocks in residential and public buildings can be single-leaf or double-leaf, which affects their dimensions. Single-leaf blocks have widths of 720, 870 and 1170 mm, and heights of 2175, 2375 and 2755 mm. The width of double doors is 1774 and 1778 mm with a height of 2755 mm. In this case, GOST clearly states what the width and height of the doorway should be for each product. For example, standard sizes balcony door are 720x2175 mm, the clearance dimensions for it should be 760x2210 mm. It makes no sense to present here the entire list of sizes of existing doors and the corresponding openings, since the amount of clearance is determined according to the following principle: add 40 mm to the width of the product, and 35 to the height.
  2. Domestic wooden blocks They also come in single- and double-leaf types. The standard sizes (in millimeters) of these products are as follows: width - 670, 770, 870, 970, 1170, 1272, 1472, 1872; in height - 2070, 2370. The principle of determining standard doorways for these blocks is the same as in the previous paragraph: 40 mm is added to the width of the door block, and 35 to the height.
  3. The standards for external doorways of single- and double-leaf wooden blocks are determined by regulatory documentation according to the principle: 25 mm is added to the width of the product, and 35 to the height. The standard size range (in millimeters) of these products: in width - 884, 984, 1274, 1474 , 1874; in height - 2085, 2385.
  4. GOST 31173-2003, which regulates the production of metal doors, does not standardize their dimensions. The developers are looking into this issue project documentation on a building or structure and system designers who select them in accordance with building codes and the wishes of the customer. Therefore, the dimensions of doorways must be selected individually for each product.
  5. Dimensions of products from PVC profiles are also not standardized; an individual approach is maintained to the preparation of holes for their installation.

Features of preparing openings

In the above regulatory documentation for wooden panels the clearance values are given taking into account installation according to old technology, which is still used in some places since Soviet times. Modern methods installation and a wide range of fastening and sealing materials make it possible to quickly and better hang both wooden and metal products. There is no need to comply with the clearance value specified in GOST.

The product must fit tightly into place without distortion vertically and horizontally, and then attach to the wall. The gaps between the frame elements and the wall are sealed with polyurethane polyurethane foam, and the smaller these gaps are, the better. The dimensions of the existing clearance in the wall may differ from the standard dimensions of the sashes. A narrow gap in a brick or concrete wall should be trimmed with a cutting wheel for stone and concrete.

In this case, it is necessary to maintain a strict vertical line, having first drawn a cutting line with a pencil along construction level. If the gap is wider than necessary, it can be increased. This is a more labor-intensive operation, especially when it is necessary to build up part of the brick wall to install an external steel sash. When installing internal sashes, the problem is solved using plasterboard systems or adding wooden beam, which will then hide under the trim.

IN last years Interior arched openings have become very popular. They are filled with doors of the same arched configuration, or simply left with a free passage. The creation of such a clearance is achieved through the installation of plasterboard systems, and not by the destruction of reinforced concrete lintels. A galvanized metal U-shaped profile is cut along its entire length every 4-8 cm and carefully bent with a certain radius in the form of an arch, after which they are installed in top part clearance and attached to the wall. The result is an arch that is sewn up with a plasterboard sheet.

Preparing the opening for installation new door is an important part of the installation process. This operation determines how correctly and securely the door leaf will be hung, and its service life.
