When to go

The official tourist season in Vietnam starts at the end of September and ends in March. This is the most comfortable time for the first acquaintance with the country. Even if you decide to move to Vietnam permanently, it is still better to live here for a while and see everything with your own eyes.

Which region to go

I like the sea, so we chose Mui Ne.

The majority prefers Nha Trang as a more modern and comfortable city. Some guys live and work in Mui Ne during the season and move to Nha Trang when everything is empty here.

Both of these resorts are in relative proximity to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) - the second largest city after Hanoi (the capital). So if you want to work under palm trees on the coast, learn to surf or kite surf, these are the places for you. I have been to Dalat three times already. Every time I come with great pleasure. We rent a room in a hotel for $12 per night, we are thinking of moving there for a couple of months. The funny thing is that the tourists are exclusively Russian, the Russian language is everywhere, all the signs are in Russian, those who have been to Brighton in New York will understand me. You need to walk, ask, make acquaintances, hang out - in a word, join the life of the city of Nha Trang and you will not be lost. However, in every excursion there are such purchases and your salary depends on them fundamentally. During the day, there is a guide who can raise a couple of hundred bucks if there are good sales, but this is rare.

My problem is that they let me tour a little more than once a week, the rest is on sales.

What can you earn from sales in Vietnam?

You can earn 100 bucks a month, or you can earn 2000, that's the variation depending on the circumstances. I'm a shitty salesman, I do my business on the Internet during work. All the time I let the authorities know how they can increase turnover, but they don’t give a fuck, they make money and that’s enough for them, but it doesn’t matter how you get there.

It is difficult to compare Thailand and Vietnam. it different countries With different people, different political system and attitude to life. If the US had won the war, it would have been like Thailand, I guess. And what we have now is solid socialism, communism, dirt, dust, trouble, eternal construction-perestroika, corruption. The position is to tear off one's own even at the expense of others, alcoholism, disassembly.

What is life like in Vietnam for Russians compared to Thailand?

If you compare Vietnam with Thailand - a rougher and more unpleasant attitude, people are wilder, the Vietnamese do not smile, as they do in the same Thai.
