15 Setting water hardness. The designation of the filter cartridge resource (600l, 1500l and 3000l) is conditional. The actual resource depends on the hardness of the tap water at the installation site. The higher the rigidity, the lower the resource. Data for water of different hardness are given in the table below. When installing, it is optimal to have information about the hardness of the available water. This data can be obtained from Vodokanal or by measurements. Using the table, knowing the water hardness in German (ºdH) or Russian (ºZh) degrees of hardness, we select the recommended bypass adjustment (0-70%). The lower the value on the bypass scale, the softer the water output. And the lesser the resource filter. Water that is too soft will lose its taste. To enhance the taste of the water, you can increase the value on the bypass scale relative to the table. This is a “Top Class” setup! If the hardness is unknown, we perform the “Standard setting”: set the bypass to 50% and during calibration use a volume equal to 1 liter (standard carafe). See next page. 15

16 Calibration of the electronic control unit The electronic control unit counts the total opening time of the filtered water supply handle, thus recalculating the amount of water passing through the filter. First, you need to calibrate (train) the electronic unit, giving it information about how long it takes to reach the calibration volume of water (depending on the pressure in the water supply, etc.). For the calibration procedure of the electronic control unit, we select the calibration volume using the table. During the calibration process, this exact amount of water must pass through the mixer! (In the case of “Standard setting” we use the 1 liter carafe from the kit). Calibration 1. Touch the green and red LEDs on the control unit simultaneously for 5 seconds (the indicator on the handle flashes red). 2. Within 2 minutes, open the handle completely and draw in the calibration volume of water. 3. Close the handle. 4. Confirm by double-tapping one of the LEDs (both LEDs flash 4 times). 16

18 Replacing the filter The filter is designed for additional purification and improvement of water that is already suitable for drinking! The safety of water after filtration is not guaranteed if the source water is not suitable for drinking! The filter should be changed at least once every 6 months!!! For reasons of hygiene, the service life of the filter head is 5 years. After replacing the filter, it is necessary to rinse the cartridge (at least 2 liters of drained water for a 600l filter, at least 3 liters for a 1500l filter, at least 6 liters for a 3000l filter). It is also necessary to reset the control unit: 1. Cover the red LED with your finger for 6 seconds. The red LED lights up for 5 seconds. 2. Confirm the reset within 5 seconds by quickly touching the red LED twice. 3. The red LED flashes 3 times. 18

19 Replacing the filter At the factory, the control unit is configured to work with a “600 l.” filter. (art). In the case when a filter of a different volume (resource) is installed, the control unit needs to be adjusted: 1. Cover the green LED with your finger for 6 seconds. The green diode flashes to indicate the current setting: - 1 time: filter 600 l. - 2 times: filter 1500 l. - 3 times: filter 3000 l. 2. Remove the handle 3. Connect the control unit to the mixer. The light glows green. 4. Put on the handle. Be careful with the cable. After a few seconds, the light will change color from green to blue. 5. Turn the handle (open the water). The light will flash blue. 6. Turn off the water. The light should go out. The “buttons” of the electronic unit are light-sensitive LEDs. Under certain lighting conditions (for example, lack of lighting), they may not “recognize” the touch of a finger. Lighting conditions need to be changed. Change the bypass adjustment (increase the value). Change the bypass adjustment (decrease the value). Modern design bathrooms require complete insulation of toilet tanks and sewer pipes. Plumbing fixtures without an underwater system protrude directly from the walls and float above the floor. Installations help to hold plumbing fixtures and hide all engineering aspects - these are metal frames with installation devices. They can be covered with glass panels, covered with plasterboard, or covered with ceramics, giving the interior an impeccable look. Frame structures are able to adjust the height up to 20 cm, thanks to this, plumbing fixtures can be mounted at the required level.

The Grohe module can be installed on a solid wall using four fasteners. The upper part is mounted to the wall, and the legs to the floor. For lightweight plasterboard partitions, models are produced with a massive lower part, which supports the entire structure. To create such a false wall, a steel profile is used. The installation is mounted in it, covered with plasterboard and finished ceramic tiles. Plumbing fixtures can be attached to such a wall from different sides.

To install plumbing fixtures in the corner of a room, corner installations are produced. Special fasteners mount the structure at an angle of 45 degrees. There is also a shortened block if you plan to install the installation under a window sill or hanging furniture. Its height does not exceed 82 cm. A two-sided installation system is necessary for installing plumbing fixtures on both sides of the wall.

This element of plumbing has several varieties, knowing the functional features of each, you can make a choice according to your taste. Dual-mode buttons and a “flush-stop” option are simpler and easier to maintain. They don't require electricity and are too simple to break. • On next stage a drain tank is installed. The coincidence of the drain with the sewer connections is checked, the presence of all gaskets is checked, and only then the tank is connected to the water supply.
• Then the toilet bowl pins are installed and the flush hose is installed.

Installation of a frame installation involves several steps.

• At the first stage, a metal frame is assembled onto which the drain tank is mounted. Brackets and screws are used to set the position of the frame. At correct assembly The height of the structure will be 130–140 cm, and the width will correspond to the toilet model.
• When installing the tank, it should be taken into account that the drain button should be at a distance of one meter from the floor, the toilet should be at a distance of 40–45 cm, and the sewer inlet should be at a distance of 20–25 cm.
• The frame is attached to the wall and floor using four fasteners. Using a plumb line and level, the geometry of the exposed structure is checked.
• At the next stage, the drain tank is connected to the water supply from the side or from above; plastic pipes are used for this.

• Next, you need to connect the toilet to the riser. If this cannot be done directly, corrugation is used. Carefully check the tightness of the connections.
• To create a false wall, you need shifters that hold the toilet. They need to be screwed to the frame, and plugs must be placed on all holes to prevent debris from getting into them.
• Then a partition is created using a metal profile and moisture-resistant drywall. A hole is cut into the structure for maintenance. The finished wall is covered with finishing according to the design of the room. If it is tile, the wall is left to dry for 10 days, and then the toilet can be installed.

Cause of failure

Problems with the toilet must be resolved promptly; most often, the system can be set up independently. To do this, you should have a basic understanding of the device. The installation consists of a frame, a tank, a connection of sewer pipes and suspended plumbing fixtures. The breakdown may concern any of these elements.

When buying an installation and a toilet, you should not save, in the future, excessive frugality may affect the need for repairs. A good frame is made from of stainless steel, can withstand a load of 700–800 kg, and a high-quality toilet bowl can withstand up to 400 kg.
