Once every six months it is necessary to open the container and check the amount of sediment. If it is more than 1/5 of the height of the container, it will have to be removed. Use a bucket or fecal pump for this purpose.

If the amount of wastewater is not at all large (less than 0.7 cubic meters per day) and water is discharged only occasionally (no one lives permanently), then the standards allow us to equip a small septic tank for wastewater with bottom filtration. But before we talk about the design, you need to choose a suitable place for the septic tank.
Septic tank location and pipeline
Water from a bathhouse or other drain should be drained by gravity. Without installing an additional pump. Right? Then the drain pipeline should have a slope of 2 centimeters per meter. If the length of the pipes is 10 meters, then the pipeline in the septic tank will be lowered by 20 centimeters compared to the exit point.
If the sewer system will be used in winter, the pipeline will have to be buried below the freezing level. And this value is significant, even in average regions 1.3 - 1.5 meters. But the pipeline can be placed higher, but at the same time be properly insulated. Then rare flows of warm water will not create a continuous ice jam, unless of course the pipes are cast iron... Insulation can be made from a “skin” of polystyrene foam (sold) or a 10 cm layer of glass wool wrapped in roofing felt. Then the pipe can be placed at a depth of 0.4 - 0.6 meters.
Regular outer diameter drain pipe– 110 mm. Such plastic pipes for sewerage can be purchased without problems. But if solid fractions are not expected in the drain, for example, if the drain comes only from the bathhouse, then you can get by with smaller standard diameters - 50 mm or 40 mm.
Now about the location of the septic tank on the site. There are a number of guidelines that limit liberties in this matter. The septic tank should be located at a distance of 5 meters from the house, and 1 meter from another building with a foundation. From the road - 5 meters. From the well - 50 meters, and from the water supply - 10 meters. But the most important limitation is the groundwater level. There should not be less than 1 meter from the bottom of the septic tank to the aquifer. This is for an open bottom. But completely sealed septic tanks should not be located directly in the water. Therefore, you need to find out how deep it lies groundwater, and only after that choose one or another cleaning system.
But most likely there will be a place on your summer cottage that meets the above requirements. Then you can start building a septic tank.
Design
Since a septic tank is needed only for periodic drainage, there is no need for a large volume of it. And if so, then the shell of the septic tank can serve as old car tires. They don't have large diameter, and by burying the tires to a depth of 2.5 meters, you can get a decent tank for “one-time” use. And there is no need to dig deeper, since the sewage disposal truck does not go deeper than 3 meters.
Where can I get old tires? Contact a tire shop. There are workshops that are willing to pay for the removal of this stuff. But a septic tank made from passenger cars will be minimal in size. If you go to the Auto Garage, you can get hold of “trucks.” Do you want a large septic tank? Since there are a lot of drains, then look for tractor ones, perhaps by agriculture, possibly at car factories.
Installation of a budget option
When the trench for the pipeline has been dug, you can begin digging a pit for the septic tank. The contour is marked 5 - 10 cm larger than the tires. But such a pit will turn out to be too narrow to make it deep. It will be too inconvenient to work. Therefore, starting from a certain depth, it will have to either be expanded or dug from the surface. To dig from the surface, you will need to acquire a pair of very long tools - a “chisel” and a “scoop”. The first one can be the usual bayonet shovel on a 2.5 meter handle. And the second is a shovel, but bent at 75 degrees. Then it will be possible for her to collect soil and deliver it “to the mountain.”
Having dug a well more than 2.5 meters deep, you need to equip its bottom using a gravel filter. It is in it that invisible helpers - bacteria - will work most actively, decomposing wastewater into simple and harmless components. The filter thickness is 50 cm. First, 20 cm of sand is poured, then 30 cm of crushed stone.
Now you can put the tires in the pit. But first, it is recommended to cut off their lower side. Then water will not linger inside. This can be done easily with a regular jigsaw or saw. And in the tire into which the drain pipeline will be inserted, a hole will have to be cut across the steel cord, so you will need a metal file and wire cutters. 
The tires are laid out so that they rise above the surface. This will prevent rainwater from flowing into the hole. It is also recommended to install a roofing felt seal into the gap between the tires and the walls of the pit. This prevents flooding from melted water and sediment.
After that, all that remains is to fill the soil back around the tires, and use the remaining part to make a bead around the rising tire. It is better to plant this mound with shallow lawn grass, then the septic tank will turn out simply charming.
But the septic tank must be covered with a solid lid, just in case... If you work hard, you can also adapt a cover with a hatch by screwing it with self-tapping screws directly to the top tire.
The overall result of all the work will be the cheapest but most efficient septic tank design possible. And may it last for many years...
