When young people think about comfort in the first half of autumn (and about a shift throughout school year), there is little that can be compared to trendy and comfortable sneakers or sneakers. The classic white color of this shoe is great and it goes well with almost any outfit, but how do you make your sneakers stand out from the crowd? How do you make them individual and unique? Look at 9 simple ideas See below for DIY sneakers and sneakers and get some inspiration from them!

9. Painted with neon gradient (ombre).

Step by step process in pictures with detailed description.

8. Gold or more fashionable now - metallic.

If you're thinking about how to add sparkle and chic to your wardrobe, try making your sneakers gold. Great way, especially if the sneakers are scratched or frayed on top, since both metallic and gold perfectly hide fabric defects. And then you can wear your sneakers with almost anything.

Actually, all that is required of you: pull out the laces, cover the fabric with a brush with a cheap dark gold acrylic paint - this will hide the fabric imperfections (without splattering the white rubber parts and lace rings - all this can be sealed with masking tape), let the paint dry completely, and then on top already apply a bright and light, but thinner liquid "gilding" and again put the shoes aside to dry (not under the battery!). Everything!

8. Floral striped.

Everything is in line with current trends. Bright yet elegant and tasteful. If you have at least minimal painting ability, a design like this can be created very quickly with inexpensive colored fabric markers. If you are afraid that you will not be able to draw exactly clean, first draw out the contours of the drawing with a regular pencil, and draw stripes on a flexible, even and long object: from cardboard to plastic building supplies.

7. Contrast lace.

There is nothing simpler and more trendy and stylish for women's sneakers. And thanks to the lace, the number of things you can wear with these sneakers will double.

Use a soft sewing tape measure to measure the fabric of the sneaker, then sketch out the lace pattern. For neatness, the lace can be sewn onto the sneakers around the perimeter, bending the edge - then increase the pattern on all sides by 1 cm. Or you can simply cut and glue the lace with hot glue or fabric glue. If you have enough sharp and thin scissors, you can glue the lace with a solid canvas, and then just cut off the excess already on the sneakers. White lace on black sneakers looks just fine too.

6. Rhinestones, imitation pearls or any other small items.

To make it look not childish, choose fashionable shades, small elements and distribute the latter over the sneakers very freely. For example, miniature pearl-like beads or similar in size, but gold or silver. The result is classic and very subtle.

You can sew on (here it is better to use something strong, like dental floss), or you can glue (then on best glue possible like E6000). Decide to glue - use good tweezers to work with beads - then everything will turn out more neatly.

Since, for obvious reasons, fashionable decorative rivets cannot be distributed over the entire surface of sneakers (the clips will scratch from the back), choose a strategic place for them - on the tongues and cuffs of sneakers. The effect is something in the style of rock and roll or modern rap. Don't be afraid to create massive patterns. The tongue, like the cuffs, can be extended from the inside to the outside as needed.

3. Fabric with trendy print and sequins.

The same as with lace, only this time a fabric with a modern fashionable pattern is used. For example, you can even cut a print from a T-shirt. The edges of the fabric along the perimeter are closed with one row of sequins to match the main color of the sneaker.

2. Rainbow material.

Gives sneakers an intergalactic flair. You will need a rainbow film of any format, but not a hard one, a foam brush, masking tape, acrylic paint again, and a few more basic things. The film is usually transparent, so the paint will set the main shade of the sneaker, so choose wisely and the matching options. Cover the rubber and the labels on the sneakers with masking tape, paint the sneakers and let them dry completely. Cut the film into small squares and rectangles and after (!) Remember them in your hands like paper. Take decoupage glue and start gluing the crumpled pieces of film to the sneakers: in different directions, overlapping, etc. - completely randomly. Seal the decorated sneakers with a second coat of decoupage glue. Remove the masking tape, let the sneakers dry completely.

1. Cubic and abstract embroidery.

Mouline threads, threads and your creative streak + current fashion: the result is in the image below. Even individual details are enough - it is not necessary to embroider something fundamental on sneakers.

For obvious reasons, many people love Converse sneakers. They are very comfortable and fit almost any outfit. Most importantly, they are the perfect blank canvas for any artist. The fabric can be dyed with markers, dyes, or fabric dyes. The rubber parts of the sneaker can be painted with markers.

Steps

Using markers

Start with a blank canvas. Brand new sneakers are best suited for coloring. If you do not have the opportunity to buy them, then in this case you need to clean the ones that you already have. This will help the ink take up and show up on the fabric better. Wipe the rubber parts with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol. The fabric part can be cleaned with a damp towel. Let the shoe dry before you proceed with any further steps.

    • Most markers have a translucent color pigment, so they will be seen best on white shoes. So if you're shopping for a new pair of Converse, try white sneakers.
    • Remove the laces if you intend to dye your shoes completely. But if you wish, you can paint them too.
  1. Get permanent markers or fabric markers. Permanent markers are suitable for all parts of the shoe. Their translucent pigment will work best on white shoes. Fabric markers are only suitable for the fabric part of the sneaker. When used on rubber parts, the pigment can easily smudge.

    • Be sure to buy the correct type of fabric marker. If you have colored sneakers, use a marker designed for dark or colored fabrics. On sneakers white you can use any fabric marker.
  2. Once you start dyeing your shoes, it will be much more difficult for you to erase any mistakes. Sketch the sketch on a piece of paper or a piece of cloth, then use the markers to guide it. Try simple patterns like lightning, hearts, or stars. You can also draw geometric patterns.

    • Before dyeing the rubber part of your shoe, you should also practice on a piece of paper first.
    • Practice on a scrap of canvas, linen, or cotton fabric... The texture of the fabric will give you an idea of what technique should be used to paint on the Converse.
  3. With a simple pencil transfer the drawing to the sneakers. Avoid putting too much pressure on the pencil on white shoes so that it is not too visible. Use a white pencil on the surface of dark shoes.

Color in the drawing - start with the most light colors and end up dark. Depending on which highlighter you are using, you may have to wait a while for the dye to dry completely before applying next color... Don't start with dark shades. If you do, dark ink may seep into more light colors by obscuring them.

    • When using fabric markers designed for colored fabrics, shake it first and then press the nib against a flat surface. This will fill the tip with paint. The ink will start to drain down the shoe, so don't press the marker too hard against the shoe's surface.
  4. Wait for the paint to dry before you begin to trace the contours of the drawing, if you plan to do so at all. Outlines are optional, but they will accentuate your pattern. Try using thicker lines on the main details of the drawing and thin lines on smaller ones.

Spray a shoe sealant or water repellent on the surfaces of your sneakers. You can also use acrylic sealant... Whatever you choose, in any case, this product must have a matte effect, otherwise your shoes will shine. This way you can protect your drawing and it won't wear off longer.

    • You do not need to seal the rubber parts of the sneaker if you have painted them. Keep in mind that your patterns will fade on the rubber elements anyway as you wear your shoes.
  5. Wait for the sealant to dry before you lace up your sneakers again and wear them. Despite the sealant, the pattern must be handled with care. Wear your shoes carefully and try not to get them wet or dirty.

    Ready.

Use of paints

Take the insoles out of your shoes and tape the rubber parts of the shoe. This method can only be applied to the fabric of your shoes. Fabric paint or acrylic paints sneakers do not stay on the rubber part for very long. If you want to paint the rubber parts, you need to use permanent markers.

    • You don't need to unlace your sneakers if you're only going to dye them from the sides.
  1. Come up with a pattern design and practice on a piece of paper or cloth. Once you start dyeing your shoes, it will be much more difficult for you to erase any mistakes. Draw a sketch of the design on paper or fabric, and then paint it with acrylics or fabric paints using fine brushes.

    • Cotton, linen or canvas can help you imagine how to draw on Converse. The paper will shrink from the paint.
    • If the paint is too thick, dilute with a little water.
  2. Transfer the sketch to the shoes using a pencil. Press lightly to prevent the pencil from coming out too hard after the paint dries. Use a white pencil on the surface of dark shoes.

    • Simple ornaments like stripes, stars, or hearts will look best.
    • Try portraying your favorite character if you like cartoons or comics.
  3. When painting with acrylic paints, a primer must be used. This will brighten the colors of the paint and extend the life of the paint. The primer must dry before you start applying the next coat.

    • If you are using fabric paint, you do not need a primer.
  4. Color in the drawing, start with the largest elements. Move the edges first and then fill with paint central part picture. Before adding small parts it is necessary to wait until the paint dries. For example, if you want to draw ladybug, first paint over the desired area with red. Only add dots after the paint is dry. Keep in mind that some colors, such as yellow, will need to be applied in multiple coats to get a bright enough hue.

Wait for the paint to dry before tracing the outline. You can do this with a fine pointed brush or a black permanent marker.

Spray your sneakers with shoe sealant or water repellent. You can also use an acrylic sealant. Whichever you choose, make sure the product is matte, otherwise your shoes will shine. The sealant will protect the design so it won't wear out longer.

Remove the tape from the previously camouflaged areas of your shoes after the sealant has dried and lace up your sneakers. They can now be worn. Remember to wear carefully even sealed shoes. Try not to get your sneakers wet or dirty.

Dye use

Take sneakers in white or cream colors. The dye is translucent. It adds tint to an existing color. For example, if you try to dye a pair of blue shoes red or pink, you end up with purple... However, you can dye your shoes of any color black.

Remove the laces from the shoes and cover the rubber parts with Vaseline or tape them. It will protect rubber surface from absorbing paint. This must be done even if you want to dye the laces as well. In the future, you will dip them in dye along with your shoes. This will help the paint to spread more evenly.

Pour into a large bucket hot water and add 1 cup (225 grams) of salt and a tablespoon (15 milliliters) of dish soap. Make sure the bucket is deep enough for your shoes to fit in.

Prepare the dye and then pour it into the bucket. Different manufacturers recommend adding different amount so follow the directions on the bag or bottle. Usually liquid dyes do not need any preliminary preparation... When using powder dye, you will first need to dissolve it in 2 cups (475 milliliters) of hot water.

Place your shoes in the bucket. If your shoes float, you need to press down on them with something heavy. You can use for this glass jar, a bottle, or even a stick. If you don't, the shoes will float to the surface and you won't be able to paint them evenly.

Leave the shoes in the dye-water for 20 minutes. This will be enough for the dye to soak into the fabric.

Take out your shoes and rinse them until the water runs clear. First use warm water to allow the dye to absorb, and then use cold to remove excess dye.

We create a bright and stylish element do-it-yourself wardrobe! Turning ordinary white sneakers into a work of art, or at least an art object. Artistic skills are not needed for this, but they will come in handy if you have them. Doodling and zentagl techniques are available to anyone, and the result will exceed any expectations! How to easily decorate sneakers with your own hands, we read below.

Materials for work

They will help us to make colorful drawings on ordinary white sneakers fabric markers or acrylic paints... Neither one nor the other will erase even the most powerful washing machine from the fabric. Fabric markers can be purchased in the products for children's creativity or in hobby shops. Any that does not require fixing with an iron or in any other way will do. We used the following Crayola felt-tip pens. There are only 6 colors in the set, but this is quite enough.
For decoration, you can either buy ordinary sneakers, or take any colored ones, but then they will have to be pre-painted with white acrylic paint and then painted with only acrylic.

Technique

1. There are two options for how to decorate your sneakers. The first is to make pencil markings with your own hands, and the second is without it.
If you paint with a repeating ornament, then the markup can be omitted, since small errors in the size of the elements will be completely invisible.
2. We take out the laces and put them aside until the end of the work.
3. Draw the contours with a black marker. To make the sneakers even more interesting, we made 2 types of patterns: the central sides are decorated floral ornament, and all other parts - in a repeating pattern like a print on the fabric. Now it seems that the sneakers are made of two types of fabric. Painting the background will further enhance this feeling.

4. Color in the entire black and white drawing with our colored markers.
That's all the simple DIY sneaker decor technique. If you use acrylic paints instead of markers, you will have to choose good set brushes, so that when painting elements inside black strokes, you do not get over the edges of the contours, because acrylic, unlike markers, is not absorbed into the fabric, but lies on the surface. But with the help of acrylic paints you can create strokes different widths and make the painting more complex. Or, conversely, tampon the paint with a sponge and create color transitions with your own hands, as in the following video:

Selecting a pattern

Coloring sneakers is not difficult at all, even a child can cope with this task. Much harder choose the right pattern and color combination... Of course, there are proven options - red and black, yellow and green, orange and brown. But you can experiment and make a not quite familiar color combination.
For example, we took a risk to take black, yellow and blue, and got very interesting combination... These sneakers are suitable for a variety of clothes. And the repeating print on the socks makes them non-staining and practical. Sneakers can be machine washed or washed by hand without any fear. Here's what we ended up with.

The decor of sneakers is an interesting and exciting business, and most importantly, it is simple and accessible to everyone. But you can decorate with your own hands not only sneakers, but any element of the wardrobe. For example, make an unusual bag for a friend or mom or paint with a spectacular ornament. The main thing is to catch a creative mood, show imagination and never repeat yourself!

But if it is quite difficult to sew a dress or suit for yourself, then turning old sneakers into something is as easy as shelling pears. You just need to whiten them, wash them and do some in an interesting way paint ..

Whitening

The rubber sole of the sneaker very quickly loses its whiteness, especially if you wear them actively and regularly. So it needs to be whitened somehow first. This is done as follows. We mix baking soda and vinegar until we get a gruel, which we begin to rub into the sole with an old toothbrush. You need to do this for some time for the effect to be stronger. Then wait 30 minutes and wash off with plenty of water. It almost always helps.

Washing

We put the sneakers in a special bag or an old pillowcase, put them in washing machine, set the delicate mode and turn off the spin. Everything. This is quite enough to completely wash the sneakers from anything. And yes, it is better to take out the laces in advance.

Monochrome painting

Dissolve powder paint v a large number water. Take your sneakers and grease all the rubber parts with the most common petroleum jelly. The layer should be quite thick. Now you just dip your sneakers in tinted water for 10 minutes. Then you take them out and immerse them in vinegar - this will fix the color. And then all that remains is to rinse them under running water until it is clean and remove the petroleum jelly. By the way, in the same paint you can paint the laces later.

Ombre style

Everything is the same as for monochromatic painting, only the staining procedure is somewhat different. Take the sneakers and dip them partially into the paint. Wait a minute. Pull it out and immerse it a little deeper. And so on until the very end. The bottom color will be much richer. In addition, you can gently rub the still loose paint with a rag and water. To make the transitions more even.

Acrylic

If you really have the skills of an artist, then nothing prevents you from painting on sneakers whatever your heart desires. The main thing is to use acrylic paints, and then fix the result with a hair dryer. Acrylic will hold firm, except that it can crack if there was too much paint. And how exactly to paint is at your discretion. You can apply full-fledged drawings, or you can limit yourself to the style of "colored splashes". It is also worth remembering that instead of petroleum jelly, you can use masking tape to protect rubber parts.

Markers

There are special markers that can be used to draw on fabric and which give a permanent result that is not afraid of water. But yes, these markers still need to be purchased.

We also believe that it would be interesting for you to find out where you can get yourself and at the same time not overpay. Still, it is much easier, easier and faster than making something interesting yourself.
