Clothes hanger on wheels: a good solution in interior design. Clothes hanger on wheels: a good solution in interior design Drawings of a floor hanger to make yourself

You can do without a hanger in the hallway or corridor only if you have a large closet, and even then not always. In private homes, it is more convenient to have “duty” clothes on hand - to jump out into the yard. Those that are mounted on the wall are more convenient: they take up less space. One thing is not encouraging: the prices for worthy specimens are considerable. Therefore, we will tell you how it is made wall hanger with your own hands. The models are different, different techniques are used, but they have one thing in common: they are easy to make, especially with detailed photos process and explanations. There are also diagrams and video tutorials.

From boards in the form of a tree

To our small hallway need a hanger. I don’t want to buy a regular one in the form of a bar with hooks - I don’t really like them, and my little daughter won’t be able to get them. Other options with a set of parallel boards are also not inspiring. There is a switch on this wall, so it won’t work without adjustment, and it’s not clear what it will look like. Therefore, it was decided: I make a wall hanger with my own hands in the shape of a tree - trunk, branches. It fits into the interior. I will treat the wood with stain and varnish water based, the color should be close to the color of the front door.

So, two were purchased at the sawmill unedged boards 25 mm thick. There are markings on them - on one there is a trunk, on the other there are branches.

We take an electric jigsaw and cut out the blanks along the marked contours. Next is a turn of very dusty work - we sand the wood, while simultaneously adjusting the thickness of the joints with the “branches”. We used a drill with a rubber attachment and sandpaper. First the coarse grain, then the medium and fine grain.

Sanding is a dusty business

Once the result was satisfactory - it became smooth and the grain of the wood was clearly visible - it was time to stain. This is a mahogany color applied in four layers. After drying, we coated everything with water-based varnish. Three layers were applied at intervals of three hours.

200 mm nails were used as hooks. They were cut according to required length(different - longer for the top of the hanger, shorter for the bottom). The caps and rod were sanded for smoothness, and threads were cut on the lower part to the thickness of the board (25 mm). Holes were previously made in the “branches” and “hooks” were screwed into them.

Now all that remains is to fix all the parts on the wall. The walls are concrete, so we fasten them with dowels. First we attach the barrel and drill holes through it. Set aside the wood for now and insert plastic plugs for the dowels into the holes. Having placed the “trunk” in place, we screw it. Using the same technology we attach the “branches”.

It turned out well, and the color matches the door almost exactly. There are plans to build a small shelf for shoes and bags. The entire cost of making this hanger was about $6 for the boards and $2 for the nails, about the same amount was spent on the dowels. There was stain and varnish, and the consumption was small.

Simple wall hanger made of laminated chipboard

The task is to make a cheap clothes hanger on the wall (for rented apartment). IN hardware store bought two boards made of laminated chipboard () called “ furniture board" Two, because the price turned out to be low, and in the accessories department, where they were looking for hooks, they found some good brackets for very little money. We will use them for the second board - we will make a shelf for small items.

Tools you will need are a screwdriver or screwdriver, a drill, and a set of drills. Also, use a tape measure and a pencil to mark the places where hooks and brackets are attached.

After unpacking the boards, glue stains and some other incomprehensible stains were found on them. All this can be eliminated with a solvent. Take a soft white (not colored) rag and wipe everything well.

Next, mark with a pencil the places for the screws. Remove the hooks and drill holes. Drill - 1-2 mm smaller in diameter than the diameter of the self-tapping screw. The hole is necessary so that the work goes easier, and also so that the surface does not crack when twisting. We put the hooks in place.

Now it's the turn of the shelf. I set aside equal distances on one side and the other, attached the brackets, and marked the holes for fasteners. Drilled holes and installed brackets. All.

Now we attach it to the wall. The technique is the same, but with dowels: apply, mark the attachment points, drill. The drill is the size of the dowel. We insert the dowel plug into the hole, attach the hanger/shelf to the wall, and fasten it.

This DIY wall hanger was made in two hours (including the shelf).

Hanger with shelf

You can take the idea as a basis and use any other “hooks” and stops. This DIY wall hanger is made from two 25mm planed boards, two carpenter's squares and five hammers.

The wood needs to be dry, otherwise cracks may occur. Instead of squares, you can even use triangular pieces of a similar board. An important condition is the presence right angle. And instead of hammers, you can even fasten knots or, for example, cut wooden hangers, or any hooks. This option is just a gift.

Spare parts - hammers and squares

The two boards must be the same length. An exact match is important. Having adjusted the length, we sand the edges. There is a drill - we take the attachment, attach the emery and sand first with coarse grain, then with medium grain. Then we start marking. First, we mark where the stops will be attached. We divide the remaining distance by six, put marks - there are five of them. Just according to the number of “hooks”.

We mercilessly cut off the handles on the hammers. We cut it slightly obliquely to create a slight slope.

Using a drill, make holes in the center. The diameter of the drill is 1-2 mm smaller than the fastener used, the depth of the hole is no less than the length of the self-tapping screw.

The two boards must be connected at right angles. The installation step of the screws is 10-15 cm. We mark the places on the sidewall and transfer them to the end. High accuracy is required. We apply one to the other and transfer the marks with a finely sharpened pencil. We make holes according to the markings.

Drilling holes

We fold the boards at an angle of 90° and connect them with self-tapping screws. First we twist the two outermost ones, then the one in the middle, and then all the rest. The length of the screws is at least 75 mm (triple the thickness of the board).

Using the markings, we drill holes for the hooks.

We install angle stops. Since carpenter's squares were used, there were no holes in them. They were drilled - two at the top and bottom on each plank. There are 8 screws on one stop. We take them small - more than 20 mm, so as not to puncture the wood. Therefore, a large number of them are required.

The wooden wall hanger is ready. All that's left to do is paint it and hang it on the wall.

Based on this homemade hanger, other versions were made.

A simple hanger option for making yourself

Such hangers can be used not only for outerwear in the hallway, but also as mini-wardrobes in the room. It all depends on what type and design you choose. Rack hangers for clothes are functional, easy to move from place to place, and free the backs of chairs from unnecessary clothes.

This article contains several interesting and simple ways make a floor clothes hanger with your own hands. They won't take much time or effort.

Choose the option you like and go ahead to interior changes!

Necessary materials:

  1. Two long copper pipes 3 m and 2 cm thick, each of them will need to be cut into the following parts (this can be done at the hardware store where you will buy everything):
  • 1.5 m long– the height of the hanger (this height should be enough for both jackets and coats, but you can take more or less as desired);
  • 1 m long– the size of the pipe on which you will directly hang things (it can also be longer or shorter, calculate how many things you want to place there);
  • two tubes about 20-25 cm long– we will use them to make hanger legs.

That is, it turns out 2 copper tubes 1.5 m each, 2 1 m each, 4 20-25 cm each.

  • 4 copper elbow bends (tubes bent at an angle of 90 degrees) for attaching pipes to each other, match the diameter to the pipes (approximately 2 cm);
  • 2 T-connectors;
  • 2 pipe caps;
  • Glue (epoxy glue or consult with the store salesperson which of what is available will work);

Step-by-step instruction:

Step 1: Measurements

Measure the space on the floor where the hanger will be placed to make sure it will fit. If you take the indicated dimensions, the result will be 150 cm x 100 cm x 45 cm.

TIP: Adjust dimensions if necessary.

Step 2: Assembling the hanger legs

We begin to fold the floor hanger itself from the legs, make a support and a stand. To do this, take the first pair of 20 cm tubes and attach them between a T-shaped connector, and then we do the same with the second pair.

Step 3: Attach the protective caps

To prevent dust and dirt from getting into the middle of the pipes that will serve as legs, you need to close the holes. Attach a pipe cap to each of the two legs folded in the previous step at one end.

Step 4: Base

  • On tubes with caps on the other side, attach an angle in this way: when the angle is on the floor, the T-shaped connector located in the middle of the leg should be directed upward.
  • Take one of the meter long pipes and insert it into the corners, now the base of the hanger is ready.

ATTENTION: To securely fix the structure, you can use glue (at least in all joints), but then the hanger cannot be disassembled and folded again (when moving, for example).

Step 5: Side Posts

Insert a one and a half meter pipe into each of the T-shaped connectors, thus forming the side posts.

Step 6: Finishing Touch

  • Attach a corner to each of the newly installed racks (they should be directed towards each other), and insert a meter-long pipe into them.
  • You can also attach felt pads to protect the floor. The floor hanger is ready!

Note: Since this structure can be easily disassembled (if no glue was used), its length can be changed, for example, depending on the time of year: in winter there are more things - longer pipes were installed, in summer shorter ones.

Hanger made of PVC pipes (budget option)

The method of making this floor hanger similar to the previous one: the pipes are folded like a construction set, forming a hanger. But here we don’t use copper pipes, but PVC, so it will be much cheaper. And, of course, one more new idea design.

Necessary materials:

  • PVC pipes and 2 m long and 2.5 cm in diameter, it needs to be cut into the following parts: 12 cm (6 pieces), 80 cm (1 piece), 20 cm (2 pieces) and 10 cm (1 piece).
  • PVC pipe 50 cm long and 2 cm in diameter, cut into 3 pieces of 15 cm each.
  • 4 corner bends with a diameter of 2.5 cm.
  • 3 corner bends with a diameter of 2 cm.
  • 6 T-connectors with a diameter of 2.5 cm.
  • PVC glue.
  • Aerosol paint.
  • 4 PVC adapters from 2.5 cm to 1.25 cm.
  • 3 PVC adapters from 2.5 cm to 2 cm.
  • Felt pads to protect the floor (optional).

Step-by-step instruction:

Step 1: Cut the tubes into pieces of the desired size

First of all, we have to cut the PVC pipes for rack mounting. You can do this yourself at home with a PVC cutter or ask at a hardware store.

After cutting the pipes into pieces, their edges can be sanded so as not to be scratched when assembling the hanger.

Step 2: Sorting materials

Now we have all the necessary parts and for convenience it is better to sort them, then the assembly process will be faster and more orderly. Arrange the materials in piles, depending on their purpose.

  • For the hanger stand you will need: 4 corners, 4 adapters from 2.5 cm to 1.25 cm, 3 T-connectors and 6 tubes 12 cm long (diameter 2.5 cm).
  • For each hand hangers: T-shaped connector, PVC adapter from 2.5 cm to 2 cm, 15 cm PVC pipes with a diameter of 2 cm and an angle with a diameter of 2 cm (you can also put a pipe cap on it).
  • For stand: one PVC tube 80 cm long, two 20 cm, one 10 cm and a cap.

Step 3: Assembling the hanger

  • Stand

Secure each two tubes with a T-connector. Insert one of the three resulting structures between the other two, as shown in the photo. Place the corners on the edges of the other two, turning them down so that the hanger stands on them.

  • Hands

Place the T-connector, adapter, tube and cap together as shown in the photo.

  • Rack

Insert a tube 80 cm long into the stand into the T-shaped connector, attach one of the arms of the hanger to it, then attach a tube 20 cm long, another arm of the hanger, again the same tube and arm, a tube 10 cm long and the finishing touch put the cap on top.

To make the structure hold better, it can be fastened special glue for PVC. Be careful with the arms of the hanger to make sure they are glued in the right direction - with the corners facing up.

Step 4: Painting

The design of the hanger is ready, but it still doesn’t look very aesthetically pleasing. Apply spray paint of your chosen color carefully and evenly, without staining the room.

TIP: to make the hanger more stable, you can pour sand into the pipes from which the stand is made. After such a little trick, the hanger will not fall and turn over.

Pipe hanger with several levels

Another hanger of this type, only with expanded functionality: here you can not only hang clothes, but also put shoes. Compact and convenient wardrobe.

Necessary materials:

  1. Tubes PVC diameter 20-25 mm:
    • 4 length 100 cm
    • 2 length 65 cm
    • 4 length 48 cm
    • 6 20 cm long
    • 8 5 cm long
  2. 10 T-connectors
  3. 6 corner bends
  4. Plate for bottom shelf

We fold it completely similarly to the two hangers described above.

Wooden floor hanger in 10 minutes

Necessary materials:

  1. Wooden sticks (4 pieces) 180 cm long and 2 cm in diameter.
  2. Rope: This will be used to tie wooden sticks together (you can also use leather cords, wire, or some other decorative material, the main thing is that it firmly and reliably fixes the structure).
  3. Spray paint: we used golden color to paint the bottom of the hanger legs (you can also use a different shade or color).
  4. Paint: we used four various colors paint, one on each hanger leg (but, of course, you can use the same color for all legs).
  5. Painting tape: When using spray paint, this will help you avoid over-painting.

Step-by-step instruction:

Step 1: Paint the supports

  • Paint the legs in your chosen colors and let the paint dry.
  • Paste masking tape where you want the spray paint to end and carefully apply the paint to the legs. It is better to do this outside, or cover the floor with newspapers so as not to stain anything. Peel off the masking tape.

Step 2: Forming a hanger

Connect wooden supports together using a rope, and then gradually move them apart. The result should be something similar to the base of a wigwam, the legs should be spaced wide enough so that the hanger is stable and easy to use.

This hanger takes up a lot of space, so it is best to place it in a corner.

Interesting ideas and photos

Tree hangers

This can be a neatly polished tree trunk or branch, or a folded wooden structure. The main thing is that there is one support and branches from it - the handles of the hanger. An original and useful addition to the hallway.

Designer hangers

The number of elements and design may vary, but what all these floor hangers have in common is that they can be quickly folded and disassembled just as quickly (if you didn’t use glue). Sometimes more expensive and noble materials are used, such as copper, sometimes wood or PVC, in any case the result is beautiful and extraordinary.

Everyone knows the saying that “theater begins with a coat rack.” It is worth saying that not only in public institutions the hanger plays an important role, but also in apartments and houses. After all, the absence of this important piece of furniture can cause chaos in the hallway. Today there are many different types of hangers on sale. different shapes and design, but it will not be difficult to make and on our own from scrap materials. We'll tell you how to do this further.

Wood is usually used to make clothes hangers. But not everyone the material is suitable for this. You should choose the most dried and durable wood. If the material is not properly dried, then after a while it may lose its shape. Of all types of wood for hangers, it is recommended to give preference to pine. This material is good because it is easy to process and is lightweight. If you decide to use solid oak, you should take into account that it is more difficult to process and is heavier. The parts of a wooden hanger are usually joined together using glue. It is similarly subject to some important requirements. By the way, glue in the presence of undried wood may lose its adhesion due to the release of moisture from the material.

The choice of hanger shape plays a very important role. It should be taken into account that this piece of furniture requires at least three supports, the length of which directly depends on the height of the product. Thus, it turns out that the higher the hanger, the more massive and more supports it should have. Often this product is intended not only for outerwear, but also for trouser suits, in order to store all clothes in one place. For this purpose, the width of the hanger is usually made larger than usual. Thus, many different clothes can fit here.

When you have decided on the hanger model, you should draw a diagram that will indicate exact dimensions future product. Moreover, it is advisable to describe the dimensions of even the smallest details. This will come in handy during the manufacture of the product. When the diagram is ready, you can begin installing a wooden floor hanger for clothes.

DIY floor clothes hanger

To make the product you need:

  • saw,
  • drill,
  • sandpaper,
  • chisel.

Necessary materials:

  • bars of the required sizes,
  • boards,
  • wood glue,
  • screws,
  • stain for processing the product,

When you have all this, you can start working. It is advisable to decide in advance on the shade of the future product. In general, light wood can be painted in almost any tone. To do this, it is enough to apply stain until the surface of the hanger is the desired shade. When covering with stain or varnish, some kind of substrate should be placed under the product. Otherwise, drops may accidentally fall on the floor. Varnish should be used only after completely dry stains. In general, with varnish because strong odor It is best to work in a room that is well ventilated or, in general, outdoors. After opening the varnish, the product should be wiped with a rag soaked in a weak solution of vinegar.

Let's take a closer look at the order of work:

  1. First you need to prepare the wood. In particular, the tree trunk is cleared of bark and rough knots. Under no circumstances should the bark be left, no matter how much you would like to give the product more natural look. After all, if you leave it, it will gradually crumble, thereby creating an additional reason for cleaning the room. In addition, the bark is often a habitat for small insects.
  2. The bark can be removed with an ax or knife. After this, you should go over the wood several times, first with coarse and then with fine sandpaper. The surface should eventually become smooth, at least to prevent clothes from clinging to the knots.
  3. After this, the base of the product should be made. It is worth saying that it is advisable to make all the elements of the hanger (legs and tripod) one whole. You shouldn't start with the cross. Otherwise, if you then attach the hanger itself to it, the structure may become loose over time. Must be adhered to next rule– the lower edge of the tripod must be made on the same plane as the sole of the legs.
  4. After this, you can proceed to measuring the diameter of the barrel. Measurements taken will be needed to select a bar of suitable width. If the block is wider than necessary, then you can saw it lengthwise with a hacksaw to the required size.
  5. Typically, the height of a hanger is about 1.7 m. For a product of this height, the cross should have overhangs of about 30-32 cm. Therefore, a pair of bars 65 cm long will be needed. They will need to be cut in half to make four pieces about 30-32 cm long.
  6. The hardest part is attaching the legs to the round trunk. If you simply attach the bars, the structure will turn out to be unstable, and after the first fall, it will most likely fall apart. It is better to place the tripod on the floor and attach the leg blanks to it. To connect them, you will need to make triangular wooden inserts. Then they are attached to the bars using self-tapping screws.
  7. To strengthen the product in the places where the triangular elements are attached to the legs and barrel, you need to drill a hole with a diameter several millimeters smaller than the diameter of the fastener. It will need to be filled with glue later. Only after this can you screw in the screws. Sometimes, to make the structure more stable, the holes, in addition to glue, are also filled with pieces of rubber.
  8. To give the finished hanger functionality, you should add hooks for outerwear. They can be made at some distance from the trunk. One thing to keep in mind here important rule. To prevent the structure from falling, the center of gravity of the clothes hung on the hanger should not be outside the crosspiece.
  9. Hooks can be used both homemade and decorative. In any case, they cannot be attached directly to a tripod, because the floor clothes hanger will quickly wear out and become unusable. You can do this: take the bars and cut out a square with a side slightly larger than the diameter of the trunk. Initially, the hooks are attached to this square of wood, and then to the product itself. Thus, they will be securely fastened, and at the same time they will not come into contact with the “body” of the product, which, thanks to such a device, will last longer. This is especially useful for wardrobe racks that are used quite frequently.

You can decide for yourself which hooks to use - decorative or homemade. However, if you make them yourself from wire, they will not have a very attractive appearance. Therefore, it is better to give preference to decorative hooks purchased in the store. They are usually attached to wood with a pair of self-tapping screws. If you have the necessary skills, you can use a chisel to cut out square-shaped holes, where you should then “hide” the hooks. It will look better than simply mounting it on self-tapping screws. When the hooks are in place, you need to connect the square wooden insert with top part products using several screws.

As for the hanger itself, it can be painted or varnished. Choose a shade to suit your taste, but it is better to match the decorative style of the room where it will stand. wooden hanger floor for the hallway. A layer of paint or varnish is applied at least twice.

The base for a wooden floor hanger must be sufficiently heavy and stable. You can use it as the bottom of a floor lamp, the frame of a floor fan, or buy a stand for a Christmas tree.

Wooden floor-mounted suit hanger

The hanger described above is not suitable for men's suits. Therefore, products of a slightly different design are made for them. Wood is similarly used as the main material. To assemble such a hanger, you must first measure and cut the blanks according to the given dimensions. They are then carefully processed and polished. After that, mounting holes are made in the required places.

Next, according to the diagram, the product itself is assembled and completed finishing. All that remains is to attach pieces of rubber or wheels to the base. A little more detail about assembling such a hanger: first, the vertical posts are screwed to the base using 4 large screws. Then a strip is inserted between these supports and screwed using small screws. Next, a trouser holder is inserted into the holes of the vertical posts. To securely fix it, you will need a mallet. After this, the structure is screwed to vertical posts using four screws. Then the hangers are screwed on. The suit hanger is ready for use.

How to make a wall hanger

The basis of such a hanger is a shield on which hooks are placed. It can be made either solid or lattice. For the last option you will need less material, and besides, it is lighter. To assemble such a shield, take a pair of bars and attach them parallel to each other using dowels. After this, vertical planks about 8 cm wide are nailed to them, and hooks are attached to the boards.

The dimensions of such a hanger can be different and mainly depend on the dimensions of the wall and the entire room. If you wish, you can decorate it beautifully: varnish, paint or cover it with self-adhesive film. In any case, do not forget to properly process the ends and edges so that there are no rough spots left. If you wish, you can make it at the top of the hanger using metal corners a board-shaped shelf about 25 cm wide where hats will be stored. If the hanger is made to the full height of the wall, then a shelf for shoes is usually installed in the lower part. For reliability, it is advisable to install 5x5 bars from below that will support this shelf.

Wooden floor hangers: photo

If several people live in your apartment, then there will definitely be a need to store and place the wardrobe of each of them. And then you can’t do without such a device as a clothes rack. This design will fit perfectly into both spacious room with a dressing room and a small hallway. Such a stand would be very appropriate in a country house.

Advantages of floor racks

  • The clothes rack is very easy to disassemble and assemble. And most importantly, this does not require special skills.
  • If you store clothes on hangers, then as a result they will not cake or wrinkle; appearance will always be flawless.
  • The cost of a floor stand compared to a cabinet is much less.

DIY floor rack for clothes

Quite often, there are not enough hangers in the hallway and not many things can be placed on them. And sometimes you need to place your shoes there. In this case ideal option will be a floor stand made of metal pipes of small diameter (15-25 mm). You will also need screws, a drill and, if necessary, furniture wheels if you plan to then move the rack to another room.

Step-by-step instruction

The process of creating this design is as simple as possible.

  1. The vertical base will be long pipes (1.4-1.8 m) - 3 pieces.
  2. Shorter pipes (0.8-1.0 m) - 4-5 pieces - will be used as lower horizontal crossbars. In this case, one of them is fixed in the lower vertical axis. The remaining pipes are screwed tightly to it, thereby creating the bottom of the rack.
  3. A crossbar of similar length is fixed horizontally on top, fixing the verticals.
  4. Next, perpendicular to it in the same plane, it is necessary to screw the products, 0.4-0.5 m long. In the same way, they are fixed at the ends.
  5. Subsequently, hanger hooks will be located on this crossbar. At the same time, the lower base, due to its area, will allow you to keep the structure vertical.
  6. So, the floor rack for clothes is ready. If necessary, it can be placed on furniture wheels, which should be placed in the corners around the entire perimeter.

Wooden clothes hanger

A DIY wooden clothes rack is a budget option. And the main thing is that you definitely won’t find one like this in a store. On it you can place various clothes: robes, dresses, T-shirts, shirts, belts, ties and much more.

Design detailing

It will look like this.

  1. For the lower fastening element (floor legs) you will need boards measuring 15 x 30 x 360 mm.
  2. The middle element (racks) will be made of planks 20 x 30 x 280 mm.
  3. For the upper fastening element (hangers), you will need to take boards measuring 20 x 80 x 460 mm.
  4. For a short rack we take strips 20 x 50 x 763 mm.
  5. Boards measuring 20 x 50 x 1003 will be required for the long rack.
  6. As a connecting element, you will need to take three types of blanks, 460, 430 and 390 mm long, with the same diameter - 18 mm.
  7. Every structural element must be made from dry planed boards. Sharp edges are rounded using sandpaper.
  8. Then holes of the required diameter are drilled. It is advisable to treat the wood with an antiseptic and then cover it with a decorative composition.
  9. The rack parts are connected to each other using chrome wing nuts, threaded rods or oversized washers.
  10. The racks are held together by chrome plated metal pipes or wooden elements cylindrical appropriate length. This is done using glue.
  11. Hangers are installed on top. The planes of the joined elements are treated with glue.
  12. Thus, wooden stand for clothes (photo shown above) assembled. Such a stylish detail can decorate the interior of any hallway.

Modern sewing and marketing technologies can provide us with a truly limitless amount of clothing. And all of it needs to be laid out and hung somewhere. Ideal for dry and clean closed cabinet with shelves and a hanger bar. However, removed after working day, wet or dusty clothes in the closet are closed. For such cases, there are floor hangers.

They are also good because bulky wardrobe items, when placed on such a hanger, do not come into contact with the wall, as a result of which both the wallpaper and the clothes themselves are not damaged. At the same time, the hanger can be folded, removed, rearranged at any time, which is very important in small apartments.

If you make it yourself from scrap materials, then it also has the following advantages:

  • the price is significantly reduced;
  • a thrifty owner feels pleasure from the fact that waste from repairs has gone into business;
  • the hanger turns into an original, exclusive piece of furniture;
  • any beautiful, good thing works for the positive reputation of its author.

Floor hangers: types of materials and designs

If desired, the hanger can be made from any durable material, but the most commonly used are:

  • wood, especially fine-grained wood (walnut, birch, beech);
  • metal, such as profile trim or reinforcement;
  • polypropylene water pipes.

Structurally, floor hangers are divided into several different categories.

  1. Orderly, it is also a floor lamp hanger, or hanger. It is a vertical bar on a support in the form of a pancake or legs; in the upper part there are hooks for clothes and hats. Takes up minimal space, high-positioned hooks eliminate injury. But such a structure easily collapses due to the small support area. Used for placing jackets, raincoats, coats in hallways.
  2. Frame theater-wardrobe. A long hanger with an arbitrary number of hooks that can be arranged in several rows. Stability is ensured by wide legs, which, however, take up a lot of space. It is rational to place it in wide hallways based on big family and frequent guests.
  3. Folding frame. A small hanger, half the height of a person, designed to store a suit in an unfolded form. The upper element of the frame is made in the form of a trempel - hangers for a jacket, shirt or blouse, the second element assumes the placement of trousers. Special hooks for ties and belts are available. Looks solid in the bedroom, easily folds and stows on a closet or under the bed.

Attention! Any floor hanger can fall, so if you have small children in the family, it is better to choose a wall-mounted option.

We make a beautiful wooden hanger with our own hands

To make a good hanger for a casual suit, you will need the usual set of tools, which includes, among others, a drill, a screwdriver and a hammer. The work will consist of the following stages.

  1. We choose a drawing taking into account the size of the clothing and the dimensions of the room.
  2. We prepare materials. Ideal for self-processing The tree is considered to be pine. We purchase pine timber from a hardware store with a reserve, taking into account possible defects in the work.
  3. We cut out the parts according to the drawing. Where necessary, we achieve symmetry. We process flat parts with a grinder, curved parts with sandpaper.
  4. Selecting screws for wood suitable color, mark the places for fastening and drill holes, the diameter of which is approximately half the diameter of the screws.
  5. We assemble the product by tightening the screws by hand.
  6. We treat with stain and varnish.
  7. We glue soft strips of felt onto the parts in contact with the floor. If desired, the stands can be equipped with wheels.

Advice. Raise the trouser bar higher, then, if necessary, you can place several hangers with shirts across it.

Original hangers can also be made from:

  • a worn-out floor lamp, replacing the lampshade with hooks; the metal rod can be braided with vine or rattan;
  • the back of an old chair, separated from the seat along with the back legs;
  • a small dry tree mounted on a solid base.

Advice. Hooks cut from the forks of the branches of an unnecessary Christmas tree look original.

Pipe hanger: creative and economical

After renovation plumbing unit There are always a lot of scraps of PVC pipes that are a pity to throw away, but there is nowhere to adapt them. They can make an original floor lamp hanger, especially if you place it in a bathhouse or in a country house.

The main problem with such a hanger is its stability, so the base must be made as heavy as possible. To do this, sand or gravel is poured into the sections of pipes from which the base is made, after which the ends are closed with plugs. The operating procedure is as follows.

  1. We draw a design for the hanger and mark all the straight pipes, fittings, splitters and plugs on it. We buy what we need.
  2. Remove burrs (with sandpaper) and dust (with a rag).
  3. We stretch the rope through all the parts and tighten it in the workroom or in the yard. We paint with spray paint desired color and leave to dry for two days.
  4. We assemble the structure using PVC glue.

Aerobatics: floor hanger made of metal

You can create a truly beautiful metal hanger if you master the techniques of cutting and welding this material. However, there is a fairly simple way to make a designer hanger by combining metal elements with wooden ones.

For work you will need wooden beam round section and several copper plumbing accessories:

  • 6 knees;
  • 4 tees;
  • 4 plugs.

An important condition: the input diameter of the beam must match the diameter of the copper parts. We cut the timber into pieces according to the drawing and tightly place coppers on it.

We are convinced that if you need to add a floor hanger to your home decor, you don’t have to buy one. It is better to purchase materials and create a functional but unique thing with your own hands.
