A decision has been made that. About making decisions - sometimes simple, but almost always not obvious. I Jose Silva's "Glass of Water" method

But if sewing a dress or suit for yourself is quite difficult, then turning old sneakers into something is as easy as shelling pears. You just need to bleach them, wash them and paint them in some interesting way...

Whitening

The rubber sole of sneakers loses its whiteness extremely quickly, especially if you wear them actively and regularly. So it needs to be bleached somehow first. This is done as follows. Mix soda and vinegar to obtain a paste, which we begin to rub into the sole with an old toothbrush. You need to do this for a while for the effect to be stronger. Then wait 30 minutes and rinse with plenty of water. It almost always helps.

Wash

We place the sneakers in a special bag or an old pillowcase, put them in washing machine, set the delicate mode and turn off the spin. All. This is quite enough to completely wash the sneakers from anything. And yes, it is better to take out the laces in advance.

Plain painting

Dissolve powder paint in plenty of water. Take your sneakers and lubricate all the rubber parts with ordinary Vaseline. The layer should be quite thick. Now you just dip the sneakers in the colored water for about 10 minutes. Then you take them out and immerse them in vinegar - this will fix the color. And then all you have to do is rinse them under running water until it is clean and remove the Vaseline. By the way, you can use the same paint to paint the laces later.

Ombre style

Everything is the same as with plain painting, only the painting procedure is slightly different. Take your sneakers and partially immerse them in paint. Wait a minute. You pull it out and dive a little deeper. And so on until the very end. The color of the lower part will be much richer. In addition, you can gently rub the still loose paint with a rag and water. To make transitions more uniform.

Acrylic

If you really have the skills of an artist, then nothing stops you from drawing whatever your heart desires on your sneakers. The main thing is to use acrylic paints, and then fix the result with a hair dryer. Acrylic will hold firm, although it may crack if there is too much paint. How exactly to paint it is up to you. You can apply full-fledged drawings, or you can limit yourself to the “colored splashes” style. It's also worth remembering that you can use masking tape instead of Vaseline to protect the rubber parts.

Markers

There are special markers that can be used to draw on fabric and which give a lasting result that is not afraid of water. But yes, you still need to purchase these markers.

We also believe that you would be interested to know where you can get one without overpaying too much. Still, it’s much simpler, easier and faster than making something interesting yourself.

Painting sneakers with your own hands - a master class that will appeal to all creative craftsmen and craftswomen who love unusual things. Painted shoes are very popular among both fashionistas and craftsmen. Perhaps that is why finding all the materials and tools necessary for this type of creativity will not be difficult. Hobby stores have sets of fabric paints, markers, stencils, and fixing varnishes. All that remains is to arm yourself with everything you need and start creating.

Hand painting can transform old sneakers and add an individual “zest” to new ones. The theme of the painting can be absolutely anything – from template patterns to images of your favorite characters.

Decorating shoes

To paint sneakers you need following materials and tools:

  • sneakers;
  • paint (marker);
  • brushes;
  • template or stencil;
  • tracing paper;
  • soft pencil;
  • carbon copy;
  • masking tape;
  • scissors;
  • newspapers or rags;
  • varnish on water based(for example, for decoupage).

Cloth sneakers without a rubber “nose” are best suited. These can be regular lace-up sneakers or slip-ons. The more loose fabric there is on the shoes, the more you can unleash your imagination. Of course, the ideal “canvas” would be sneakers white.

Most often, the fabric is painted with acrylic, but you can also use oil paint and a special marker for coloring. Each paint has its own characteristics and nuances, which are worth learning about in advance.

It is most convenient to paint sneakers with acrylic paints for fabric, which are coating types of paint, that is, they remain on the surface in a small layer. Acrylic dries quite quickly and remains bright for a long time. In addition, it can be diluted with water to the desired consistency; working with it is no different from working with gouache.

To fix the paint, you can use a hair dryer (heat the dyed fabric) or water-based glass varnish, which is also used for decoupage. The varnish will not only fix the paint, but also give it shine.

You can also paint sneakers with oil paints or tempera. But we must remember that it is better to prime the fabric under oil. Besides, oil paints They take quite a long time to dry and weigh down the fabric, and over time the image may crack.

You can use oil to paint the rubberized parts of sneakers, such as the toes or the edges of the sole. To do this, just make a suitable stencil and paint it with paint using a sponge or a piece of foam rubber.

Painting with a marker is the easiest way, since there is no need to wait for the paint to dry, and the lines are more confident and clear, unlike with a brush. This method is well suited for beginners or those who do not know how to draw. Making a simple pattern using a stencil or by hand using a marker is not difficult.

It is worth remembering that multi-colored markers are best seen on white fabric. To paint dark or black sneakers, it is better to use a contrasting white color.

You can implement any ideas in painting sneakers, so there is no fundamental choice of image for the template. Any picture you like or any suitable stencil can decorate the shoe fabric. Perhaps it’s worth noting that beginners should choose images with large details and clear lines of drawing. It is also worth choosing the picture according to size.

How to paint:

  1. Prepare the sneakers: remove the laces, cover the sole and other unnecessary parts with masking tape so as not to stain them with paint, and also stuff the shoes with lumps of newspaper or rags so that the sneakers keep their shape;
  1. Draw by hand with a soft pencil or transfer selected designs to the fabric of the sneakers in one of the following ways:
  • using a stencil: attach a pre-cut (purchased) stencil to the fabric with tape or pins and trace with a pencil or paint over it with paint (markers);
  • according to the template: cut out a picture or part of a picture (element), secure with pins and trace with a pencil;
  • using tracing paper on a pre-painted area: trace the contours of the drawing with a soft pencil, then turn the tracing paper over, apply it to the painted area and trace it again along the translucent lines (in the example in the photo, a mirror template is traced!);

  • through carbon paper: done in the same way as the previous method (on painted areas), but the design along with the carbon paper is immediately secured to the fabric with tape and outlined with a sharp, hard pencil (sneakers should keep their shape well)
  1. Using a wide brush, start painting large details and the background of the image;

  1. Color small and auxiliary elements;

  1. Leave the sneakers to dry;
  1. Draw small parts(face, shadows, inscriptions, outlines, etc.);

There are sneakers in literally every wardrobe - schoolchildren, athletes, and even glamorous fashionistas. But fabric shoes get dirty easily, so the question of how to paint sneakers is relevant for many.

  2. Apply it with a simple pencil on shoe fabric.
  3. Then draw with markers.

Important! Some craftsmen apply ornaments or inscriptions with a simple pen. This print looks quite original and stylish.

  • Black and white sneakers will look classic. Simply paint over individual areas with black acrylic paint.
  • You can apply a geometric pattern, checks, stripes or a Greek meander to the fabric. For such designs, it is more convenient to use fabric contours. You can simply apply a bright edging as an outline.
  • Just large strokes of different colors will look interesting.

Now you don’t need to waste time tying your laces and your sneakers look creative.

Applique and embroidery

If you have embroidery skills, you can add originality to your shoes with your own hands.

  • Take a simple design or ornament, apply a sneaker to the fabric and embroider it with a cross or satin stitch. These could be flowers, initials or geometric designs. Whatever your imagination tells you.
  • You can buy ready-made appliqués at sewing and craft stores and sew them on shoes.
  • You can also crochet laces from cotton threads. It will take no more than half an hour, but your sneakers will have a twist.

  • In case of partial staining, it is recommended to seal the outline using, for example, paper tape. This will help you get a clear and even line. Then you can use the above-described coloring algorithm.
  • As a rule, leather dye is in a creamy or liquid form, so pour it from the bottle into a more convenient container, stir well and apply to the surface of the sneakers, paying special attention to the seams and joints.

Important! Try to paint your shoes in one go, without distractions, to avoid drips and streaks.

  • After the paint has completely dried, apply care products to the surface of the shoes - oil, cream or wax.

How to paint sneakers and give them a new life - Lady

But if sewing a dress or suit for yourself is quite difficult, then turning old sneakers into something new and original is as easy as shelling pears. You just need to bleach them, wash them and paint them in some interesting way. And Joinfo.ua will now tell you how to do this.

Wash

We place the sneakers in a special bag or an old pillowcase, put them in the washing machine, set the delicate mode and turn off the spin cycle. All. This is quite enough to completely wash the sneakers from anything. And yes, it is better to take out the laces in advance.

Plain painting

Dissolve the powder paint in plenty of water.

We also believe that you would be interested to know where you can get branded items without overpaying too much. Still, it’s much simpler, easier and faster than making something interesting yourself.

Avoiding laces in classic sneakers:

If you are tired of wasting time tying your shoelaces or want practical shoes, you can use this tutorial.

Step 1: Materials

For this project, grab:
  • pair of laces
  • some are elastic (shouldn't be as big as the picture, but how can you not love it!) I'm smaller than 1/2 yard, but if you're using a thin elastic, you might want to use more than one strip
  • some heavy button thread

Step 2: Measure the elastic

I decided to strap my elastic diagonally at the top of the leg.

I pressed the instep side of the elastic first (see first picture), then stretched the length of it over my leg and held top part. See image notes for clarification.

Then I marked that elastic and cut another one to mirror it on the other leg.

Step 3: Sew the Rise

Firstly, sew the instep part of the elastic.

Using a small needle, sew through the elastic to the inside of the boot along the entire width of the elastic.

Then tack down the corner of the elastic that sticks out when you fold everything else behind the shoe (this is easier to figure out when you do it in person).

Image 1 shows the beginning of the seams on outside shoes

Image 2 shows the needle going to the inside of the shoe.

Image 3 shows the outside of the shoe after sewing.

Image 4 shows the internal seams.

Image 5 shows taking a down corner.

Step 4: Sew the Best

Now pull the elastic over the top of the shoe and attach it to the place where you were before. (picture 1)

Sew on the upper shoe with a needle following the existing stitches. (Figure 2)

I then attached the tongue of the boot to the top because I kept getting knocked out when I put my boots on. (Figure 3) This step is optional.

Step 5: Repeat

Now do it on your second shoe!

Don new amazing shoes and go show them off. All your friends will want to know where you got them - trust me.

How to decorate sneakers using markers:

Raging ocean on old shoes:

Shine and spikes on sneakers:

Here's what you'll need...

* Converse One Stars from Target $34.99 - courtesy of Target * Fabric glue and/or MOD Fatman * I used a Crayola brush to apply the glue. *Silver Glitter (I bought an 8 oz jar, but only used 1/4" of it. 4 oz is a lot. * Fine glitter in black * Artist's Ribbon * Iron-on silver pyramid studs (which I can't find on the website) =

Steps...

* Squeeze a large number of glue fabric into a cup or plate. Tape the sides of the sneaker with your artist's ribbon. Using a brush, apply a moderately thick layer of glue to the tongue of your shoe.

* Point the sneaker in the open field and sprinkle a generous amount of glitter over the glue.

*Once your tongue is almost dry, remove the tape from the sides of your shoe and apply a generous layer of glue to the sides. It's best to do this one at a time, as the glue will dry quite quickly.

* Sprinkle your larger silver glitter and shake to remove excess.

*Since I was trying to imitate the charcoal silver Miu Miu shoes, and couldn't find a dark silver glitter, I added fine black glitter on top of my large silver glitter to fill in some of the tiny areas to make it darker. (this was my preference. If you can find a dark silver glitter, this step is not necessary)

* Shake the shoe and let the black subtle shine settle and discard any unwanted silver shine. If you missed any spots, now is your chance to add a little more glue and fill them in.

* To create a faux steel toe, I used small iron-on pyramid studs that I found at Joann's a few years ago.

* Paint a generous amount of glue onto the rubber toe of the sneaker. You'll have to work quickly because it dries quickly!

* Start adding your pins in the center where the rubber meets the glitter and work from there or out from the edges. Then create a sort of T by placing studs in a row up to the tip of your shoe and working from there.

*I didn't want to go over the black line around the sole, so I created a little pyramid effect with offset edges.

* Pyramid with pyramid hairpin

* Hoping to get a dark gray, I dyed the laces black with Rit dye. However, the dye barely picked up at all, and left the laces a very light grey. I almost wish I had just left them white. My advice if you want darker shoe laces is to just buy them or use satin ribbon instead of this.

** UPDATE ** ** important step

In an attempt to ensure a really sparkle, I layered on another layer of glue (MOD) Thick and another layer of glitter, then mixed the glitter into the glue and painted on another layer, and they sparkled to life now!

Voila!

How to make platform sneakers:

You will need:

Pair of lace up canvas sneakers (inexpensive shoe store or supermarket)

Foam for the platform - I used a pair of old flip flops

2 Shoe Soles - I'll destroy a very old pair of sneakers, but you can also get them from a shoemaker or buy an extra pair of canvas sneakers in a different color.

Flexible glue and hot glue gun

Raffia - I made woven straw raffia from a craft store.

Stanley knife and sandpaper to adjust shoes/foam platforms so they fit together.

Step 1. Glue sole and foam together using flexible adhesive. Then glue the sneakers into the foam.

Step 2. Press three layers together and let dry overnight. I weighed mine down with some bricks to apply the right amount of pressure.

Step 3. After the glue has dried, hot glue two layers of raffia around the edge of the shoe to completely cover the foam. Make sure any of the join raffia is centered at the back of the boot.

Step 4. For the finishing touch I threaded the sneakers with black laces on from old boots I took the soles from. You can use any color laces - neon will be fun!

And voila, your very own raffia is decorated with vines!

The question of how to paint sneakers at home is relevant not only for owners of faded or damaged shoes. Sometimes you just may want to refresh your wardrobe and add some “zest” to your image. Running to a shoe store and collecting a collection of multi-colored sneakers is not the most expedient (and far from the most economical) solution.

You need to approach coloring shoes creatively and not be afraid to use your imagination, then at the end you can get an elegant, original pair of shoes, which only you will own. However, do not forget about reasonable caution so that only the sneakers are painted, and not the entire apartment.

Why are sneakers so popular?

Sneakers have long outgrown their status as sports paraphernalia. Thanks to their versatility, practicality and convenience, they are equally popular among men and women, among avid conservatives and progressive fashionistas, among glamorous young ladies and lovers business style. Now in shoe stores you can actually find both regular sports and trendy options - with sparkles, sequins, spikes, decorated with colored patterns, thematic designs and appliques.

Sneakers also vary in shape and sole height. They come in low and high, with or without laces, with flat soles and platforms, with hidden heels. They are convenient to take on trips because they are compact, weigh little, and can be useful in almost any situation. The popularity of sneakers is also associated with their ease of care, lightness and comfort for the foot. You can walk in them long distance, spend long periods of time standing or dance the night away in a club.

It is precisely because of the great demand for such shoes that there is often a need to paint white sneakers at home. Exist various options coloring: plain, multi-colored, with patterns, ombre. However, first of all, the shoes need to be thoroughly cleaned.

Cleaning the soles

You need to start by cleaning the soles. The top of sneakers is usually made of thick canvas, denim or breathable mesh, comfortable in hot weather. But the sole, as a rule, is made of rubberized materials. You need to clean it in the following way:

  1. First, rinse your soles under cold running water as usual to remove any major dirt.
  2. Prepare a paste mixture of vinegar and baking soda.
  3. Rub the sole with the resulting paste, working especially hard on the side surfaces and toes.
  4. After half an hour, rinse it under the tap.

We've sorted out the sole, but it's too early to start using acrylic or other paint. Shoes must be washed first.

Washing sneakers

First you need to remove the laces and wash them separately. We wash the sneakers themselves in the machine:

  1. We place them in special fabric bags for machine washing shoes or in a regular unnecessary white pillowcase.
  2. Install on dashboard delicate mode - without spinning and with a temperature not exceeding 40 degrees.
  3. We start the washing machine.
  4. After the cycle is completed, take out the sneakers and put them in a warm place to dry.
  5. To prevent wet shoes from becoming deformed, you can put crumpled newspapers in them.

After the shoes have completely dried, you can finally start painting them.

How to dye fabric sneakers?

First of all, prepare everything you need:

  • powder or acrylic paints of the desired shades;
  • rubber or latex gloves to protect hands;
  • dishes that will accommodate sneakers;
  • unnecessary newspapers, magazines or oilcloth to protect the flooring;
  • table vinegar;
  • Vaseline oil;
  • baking soda;
  • an unnecessary toothbrush or foam sponge;
  • clean rags.

Then we decide on the painting method. The simplest option is plain coloring:

  1. Following the instructions, prepare the coloring solution.
  2. Fill another container with cold water and add vinegar.
  3. Coat all rubberized shoe elements generously with Vaseline.
  4. Dip the shoes in the dye for 5-10 minutes, depending on the desired degree of shade saturation.
  5. Then dip them in a bowl of vinegar to make the paint last longer.
  6. Rinse your shoes under the tap until clean water begins to flow from them.
  7. Wipe off the Vaseline oil and paint from the sole using baking soda and a cloth or toothbrush soaked in water.
  8. Let the sneakers dry thoroughly.

A more complex method of monochromatic coloring is ombre. In this case, you need to achieve a gradient change in color saturation:

  1. Dissolve required quantity paints in water.
  2. Prepare a vinegar solution and treat the sole with Vaseline.
  3. We dip only the lower part of the shoe into the coloring composition. Let stand for 2-3 minutes.
  4. We also lower the sneakers a little deeper for a couple of minutes.
  5. We consistently move the sneakers deeper and deeper until they are completely covered with paint. As a result, the bottom part will be the brightest colored because it has been in contact with the dye longer.
  6. We take the shoes out of the water and wipe them with a damp cloth to make the transition of shades smoother.
  7. After a few minutes, dip the sneakers in water with vinegar, and then rinse under the tap.
  8. Remove the Vaseline oil from the sole and dry the shoes.

Using multiple paint colors

With several colors of acrylic paint it is possible to create truly original designs. For this procedure you will additionally need painting brushes. different thicknesses and masking tape so as not to paint the sole at the same time. We will show you several ways of multi-color dyeing.

Marine theme

  1. We seal the rubberized elements with masking tape.
  2. Using brushes of various thicknesses, we apply patterns in the form of waves of different shades.
  3. You can add images of shells, pebbles, fish, and algae.
  4. Dry the paint for at least 15 hours, and then dry it additionally with a hairdryer.
  5. Don't forget to remove the tape.

Starry sky

  1. Take blue, violet, white and blue paint.
  2. Tape the sole.
  3. Using a foam sponge, paint the entire background blue.
  4. Using a wide brush or the edge of a sponge, paint clouds with purple and blue colors.
  5. Using a rag, lightly blend the “picture” around the periphery.
  6. Dip a toothbrush into white paint and run your finger over the bristles to splatter onto the fabric. They will create the effect of a scattering of stars.
  7. Dry the “painting” for about a day, and finally blow it with a hairdryer.
  8. Remove the tape from the sole.

Oriental motifs

  1. To create an exotic Indian pattern, you need to take 3 shades of paint or more.
  2. Seal the sole.
  3. Using a wide brush or sponge, paint a circle of the same color.
  4. Then, in the middle of it, draw a circle smaller than the other shade.
  5. In the very center, fill in a small circle with a third color.
  6. Use a damp cloth to blend the borders of the pattern - they should not be clear.
  7. Air dry for 15 hours, then with a hairdryer, and finally peel off the tape.

Colorful splashes

  1. Choose a few bright colors.
  2. Secure the rubber sole with masking tape.
  3. Cover the area where you will create with newspaper pages or oilcloth to avoid damage to property.
  4. Dip in different colors brushes or toothbrush and spray onto shoe fabric until the desired effect is achieved.
  5. Dry for about 24 hours as usual, blow dry and peel off the tape.

Video: how to paint sneakers at home?

Colored brush strokes

  1. Also take a palette of bright paint colors.
  2. Tape the sole with tape.
  3. Using brushes, paint strokes of different shades onto the fabric in an artistic disorder.
  4. Simply air dry with a hairdryer and remove the protection from the sole.

Polka dots

  1. Prepare a stencil from thick paper by carefully cutting out a circle of the desired size in it.
  2. Applying the stencil to the shoe fabric, use a sponge or brush to paint the circle through the hole.
  3. Draw the required number of peas.
  4. Dry as usual.

Ornaments and patterns

  1. It is more convenient to draw thin patterns either using contours on the fabric or with special markers. You can buy them in craft stores.
  2. If the pattern is quite complex, then it is better to first draw it on the sneakers with a simple pencil, and then paint it.
  3. Before painting, cover the sole again with tape.
  4. If you used markers, you don’t need to dry them for a long time; they dry immediately after application.

Different coloring options can be successfully combined. For example, take ombre paint as a basis, and apply some pattern, polka dots, or strokes on top. Black and white sneakers with individual areas painted black look original. You can simply apply a colored border or make an interesting inscription.

After dyeing, do not forget to insert laces of a suitable shade. Contrasting combinations of colored sneakers with colored lacing look interesting.
