These geysers, as bombs are also called, have become very popular not only due to their usefulness, but also to the effective dissolution process, accompanied by active hissing and bubbling. Such violent actions occur due to the content of citric acid and soda in the product, which enter into a similar reaction. What can we say about essential oils, various extracts, sea salt, which have a beneficial effect on the skin and general well-being of a person.

Bubble Bomb Recipe

To make such a bath bomb at home, you will need:

  • 10 tbsp. spoons of baking soda,
  • 5 tbsp. spoons of citric acid,
  • 2 tbsp. spoons of sea salt,
  • food coloring (to your taste),
  • 25 drops of essential oil (also to your taste),
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil,
  • 1 tbsp. spoon of dry cream,
  • dried or fresh herbs (pre-chopped).

It is advisable to carry out all work with gloves, and mixing must be carried out in a glass container. To decorate the product as bomb molds, many women advise using round ice molds. So, putting on gloves, glassware Mix citric acid and soda until a homogeneous mass is formed. Next, food colors of selected colors, sea salt, essential oils and olive oil are added. Add crushed to the mixture healing herbs and powdered cream. The mass is mixed until smooth. The degree of mixing is determined by the ability of the components to bind: ready-made product easy to mold. If the consistency remains crumbly, you will need to add a little more water. However, if you overdo it, a reaction may occur, which will subsequently render homemade bath bombs ineffective. When the hissing does start, you will have to add a little soda and acid again. The resulting mixture is formed into balls - the shape of future bath bombs.

Then the blanks are tightly compacted into the molds. Ice trays, halved tennis balls, and even children's hollow toys, silicone baking molds, and egg crate compartments are used as bomb molds. Then they are left to dry, and after 25 minutes they are carefully and carefully removed from the mold. If bath bombs are made correctly, they can be easily removed and the balls will not fall apart in your hands. On the eve of the holidays, you can prepare such cosmetics as a gift to your friends. They will definitely like them, especially if they are shaped like a heart.

Relaxing bath bomb

Depending on the ingredients used, this product can be given special properties. This is how you can achieve relaxing pleasure with a lavender bath bomb. The recommended ingredients for the recipe are:

  • 4 tbsp. spoons of baking soda,
  • 2 tbsp. spoons of citric acid,
  • 1 tbsp. spoon of sea salt,
  • 3 tbsp. spoons of powdered milk,
  • 2 tbsp. tablespoons wheat germ oil,
  • 25 drops lavender oil,
  • 1 tbsp. spoon of crushed dry lavender.

To prepare lavender bath bombs, first select convenient utensils. Deep braids, for example, work well. Back on initial stage soda and citric acid powders are mixed. After this, dry milk is added and everything is stirred until a homogeneous mass, into which wheat germ oil is slowly poured in drops.

Then the mixture is slowly supplemented with lavender essential oil. After this, sea salt and lavender herb powder are mixed into it. Behind them comes the turn of water. You should be especially careful with it and add it using a spray bottle, spraying lightly and at the same time stirring the mixture with a spoon. The amount of water is determined by the moment of hissing, which is a signal that the product is ready. It is important not to miss this moment in order to get truly bubbling bath bombs.

Instructions: how to make bath bombs

These two recipes confirm that the main ingredients of bath bombs are baking soda (baking soda), acid (citric acid) and dyes (also food coloring). Most often, sea salt and fillers in the form of dried flowers and other useful ingredients are also added. Moreover, the classic ratio of soda and acid in all recipes is two to one. All other ingredients are added as desired to the right amount. The variety of components can be amazing: from confetti inside the product to surprises in a large bomb. For example, a hissing reaction begins in it and, after the product’s shell gradually dissolves, a rubber bath duck or any other toy slowly appears inside. You can use standard instructions for making bath bombs. Moreover, it is recommended to carefully weigh all the necessary ingredients, for example, using electronic scales, because it is unlikely that you will be able to maintain the required proportion by eye. Next, you can take a blender or mixer, with which you will grind and mix the whole mass one by one. Moreover, when mixing baking soda and citric acid, it is recommended to be especially careful. When using citric acid, do not allow it to come into contact with the eyes or respiratory tract. Some authors even recommend using respirators and working in well-ventilated areas, since a bath geyser hisses due to the reaction of soda with acid and water, and citric acid is considered a fairly active substance. Before making a bath bomb, it is recommended to thoroughly grind all the other ingredients. Of course, all kinds of decorations, such as flower petals, toys and other tinsel, cannot be crushed. And one thing applies to all other components general rule: the smaller they are, the stronger the hissing reaction of the bombs will be. To mix the entire resulting mass together and form balls, especially when there are skin diseases such as eczema, or there are unhealed wounds, you need to wear gloves. And when there are no skin problems, then you can do everything with bare hands, despite the advice in other recipes. After all, in essence, a product is being made for the same body skin, so why protect yourself? And if it appears allergic reaction on any of the ingredients, we will be able to limit the area of damage to the body by the irritant by another preparatory stage, rather than immersing your whole body in it. Adding small amounts of essential oils cannot be combined with fragrances. When a small drop of water is added to the mixture with a teaspoon, the resulting mixture will begin to hiss slowly. At this point, it is important to start stirring the product again in order to extinguish the premature reaction in time. Then a viscosity test is done: a small lump of the mixture is taken and slightly compressed.

If at the same time there is a feeling similar to damp sand, then this confirms that the bath bombs are ready for packaging in the mold. If desired, you can put petals and herbs in the mold as decoration. Then the resulting mixture is poured into the halves of the mold and compacted tightly. On one half of the mold, small mounds of the mixture are poured into the cells, which will allow both halves to penetrate each other during fastening.

Little things like this are very important to ensure quality bath bombs. Master Class, step by step instructions, photo galleries and video stories will help you take into account all the details of the process and prevent typical mistakes. So, according to the advice of the masters, you then need to take both halves and squeeze them tightly with your hands, holding for at least 15 seconds.

Then the halves are fastened at the edges with clamps and left for several hours, and according to some tips - even for the whole day. You can also put the form on heating battery or in the sunshine. This way the products will dry faster and deeper, which is very important for them. Once drying is complete, the molds are carefully opened. If you used tennis balls or toy eggs, you need to take the mold into left hand, firmly hold one half of the mold, and with your right hand make smooth circular movements of the other part of the mold. After this, the bombs are considered ready. They can be used for your own benefit and pleasure. Ready-made bombs are stored as standard - in dry, cool places. And excess moisture can lead to a loss of quality of the product: it will either go out prematurely and not give any reaction at all in the bath, or it will react very weakly.

Recipe: DIY Bath Bombs

This popular, simple bath bomb recipe can be customized to create your own. You can, for example, replace dry cream and milk with starch or oatmeal. There are also no strict rules in choosing the aroma and color of the bomb: everything is to your taste. Any reasonable experiments will only improve the quality of the product. Many women really liked the recipe with the composition of essential oils. For these bombs you need to prepare:

  • baking soda (4 tablespoons),
  • citric acid (2 tablespoons),
  • powdered milk (1 tablespoon),
  • sea salt (1 tablespoon),
  • peach base oil (2 tablespoons),
  • bergamot essential oil (10 drops),
  • rosemary essential oil (10 drops)
  • heather dried flower.

There are no special subtleties in the preparation process. First, the soda is sifted so that there are no lumps and poured into a dry, clean container. Next, add citric acid, powdered cream and sea salt, which must first be ground in a coffee grinder. All ingredients are thoroughly mixed to distribute the components evenly. Can be used as a filler powdered milk with sea salt, as well as starch and many other components, but all in compliance with proportions. After mixing the powders, peach oil is added to them, which can equally be replaced with olive or almond oil. In a separate bowl, the base oil is mixed with bergamot and rosemary essential oils. Adding a few drops of oily vitamins E and A gives a good effect.

The resulting oil mass is added to the main powder mixture and everything is thoroughly mixed by hand. However, in most instructions on how to make bath bombs, it is recommended not to overuse the amount of water, so as not to provoke the onset of a reaction. Next, a pinch of dried heather is placed on the bottom of the mold, and the mixture is laid out on it in layers with a teaspoon. Heather can be replaced with oatmeal, dry cornflowers, rose petals, and coffee beans. Often, instead of special bomb molds, children's plastic sandbox molds, chocolate egg cases, and candy balls are used. But the form should not bend. After drying, the fizz will be ready for use. But for storing finished bombs, there is advice to wrap them in cling film, which will retain the aroma of essential oils and will not allow the humidity level to be disturbed.

Such a cosmetic product will not fail to interest lovers of homemade natural cosmetics. The main thing is to get down to business boldly, and the opportunity to get a geyser and even a volcano of pleasure from a bath with such bombs will not take long to come!

Friends, a huge hello to everyone.

  3. An enamel bowl, it should be deep enough, but not too wide, so that it is convenient to stir and the ingredients do not smear on it.
  4. A gauze mask to prevent inhaling soda dust.
  5. Soda, ordinary baking soda, which we pour into pancakes, I will write the proportions below, because they are different for each recipe.
  6. Citric acid, although it can be replaced, but this is also discussed in the recipes themselves.
  7. Spray bottle with warm water, instead of water, you can use tea leaves or decoctions medicinal plants.
  8. Additional components can be cosmetic clay, essential oils, flower petals, ground coffee or oatmeal, and much more.
  9. Molds, such as a cup of yogurt, recesses in an egg container, silicone molds for homemade soap, children's sandbox molds, and even a soap dish or small bowl.

DIY bath bombs - recipes from simple to complex

First, let's deal with basic principle manufacturing, and then we’ll move on to more complex variations. Here is a basic diagram of how to make a fizzy bath bomb with your own hands:

  1. We put on gloves, goggles and a mask, and tie an apron.
  2. Pour, for example, 10 tbsp into an enamel or glass bowl. l. Soda and 5 tbsp. l. Lemons (these components are always taken in a ratio of 2 to 1, that is, lemons are 2 times less than soda) and quickly mix them.
  3. Next, add some base oil - sunflower, olive, almond, flaxseed, grape, in a word, whatever you like, the volume for the specified amount of bulk mass is about 1 tbsp. l.
  4. Then we drop 10-12 drops of ether, for example, or, or lavender, or something else, again to your taste, and quickly mix everything again.
  5. And finally, we add a dye; this can be the juice of plants or vegetables, or food or cosmetic dye from a specialized store for soap makers.

At the same stage, you can add something else - flower petals, herbal powder, milk powder or cream, starch or ground oatmeal. When all the ingredients are combined, mix the mass thoroughly and quickly with your hands again. In principle, you can start sculpting, but there is one caveat. There are two ways to prepare bombs – dry and wet. I described the dry one above, but for the wet one, you need to add 2-3 sprays of cold water from a spray bottle to the described scheme before sculpting. But no matter which of the two methods we choose, the mass should remain quite crumbly, and when squeezed in a fist, it should stick together well.

We compact the finished composition tightly into the prepared molds and leave to dry for about 30 minutes. After this time, we remove the molds and leave our fragrant balls to ripen for another day in a dry, warm place. Then they can be packed in cling film and put in the refrigerator so that they do not become damp and react. By the way, these homemade bombs can be not only in the shape of a ball, but also in the shape of a heart, a flower, a leaf, a barrel, it all depends on what molds you have.

I know that some of those reading this article will say that whole sets of bath bombs are sold in stores for lovers of such cosmetic pleasures, and you can easily buy them instead of toiling around with all these mixtures. I agree, it’s possible, but the price of a set of, say, three aromatic fizzy drinks goes well beyond a thousand rubles, and the cost of homemade masterpieces made from soda, lemon juice and natural oils selected for yourself will be less than 5 times. And where is the guarantee that store-bought balls contain only natural ingredients and are completely suitable for your skin. Either homemade, cooked with soul, from simple natural products, for yourself, your favorite. Well, have I convinced you? Then let's go find out

A simple recipe for oily skin

For one bomb, take 4 tbsp. l. Soda, 2 tbsp. l. Limonki, 1 tbsp. l sea or pink salt, 1 tbsp. castor oil and 5-7 drops of any citrus. In a deep bowl, mix soda, lemon and salt, mix them thoroughly, and then add castor oil and ether. To make the bomb brighter, you can add 1-3 drops of any food coloring, vegetable or herbal decoction. When all the components are mixed, put the mixture in a mold and wait for it to dry, and then enjoy the pleasant and healthy water procedure.

DIY bubbling bath bombs for dry skin

Dry skin needs to be moisturized and lubricated, so in this recipe we will take several oils and vitamins. As in the previous recipe, for the base you will need 4 tbsp. l. Baking soda and 2 tbsp. l. Citric acid. To them we will add grape seed oil, and an oil solution of antioxidant vitamins A and E. From the esters we will take chamomile and geranium oil. We need a total of 1-1.5 tbsp of fatty oils and vitamins. l, and esters 5-6 drops each.

We proceed according to the same familiar scheme, first mix soda and lemon, and then little by little mix in first the base oils and then the essential oils. When the mixture reaches the consistency of raw sand and sticks together, compact it into a mold and wait completely dry. For brightness, at the end of kneading, you can add food coloring of the desired color, or you can do without it. Dry skin will be very happy with such a seething mask.

Another option is to add bombs to the composition in addition to oils seaweed, which are easy to buy at the pharmacy. It is best to add them between the layers placed in the mold. For example, you created a mixture as described just above, divided it into 4 equal parts and proceed as follows. Place the first part of the mixture on the bottom of the mold, place one third of the tablespoon on it. l seaweed. Again a layer of the mixture and again a third of a tablespoon of seaweed. Again part of the bomb mixture and a layer of algae, and the last part of the mixture completes everything. Tamp all this art well and let it dry for about a day, after which you can use the bomb or beautifully package it and make an exclusive gift to one of your friends.

Homemade aromatic bombs to tone up or relieve fatigue

Depending on what esters and aromas we add to our bubbling balls, the bath can be made either relaxing, relieving fatigue and stress, or tonic, charging with vigor and good mood. Here's one recipe for every occasion.

1. From fatigue

Let's take 4 tbsp. l. Soda, 2 tbsp. l. Lemons or the same amount of vitamin C ground into powder, 1 tbsp. l. Grapeseed oil, 1 tbsp. l. Powdered milk and 6 drops each of rosemary and lavender. In a deep container, first mix the bulk ingredients, that is, soda, lemon or ascorbic acid and milk powder and mix them well. Now, stirring continuously, add grape oil and drops of ethers to the mixture of granules. If the mixture seems a little dry to you, then add either another tablespoon of grape oil or sprinkle a little from a spray bottle.

If the mixture has the consistency wet sand and sticks together well when you squeeze it in your palm, put it in the mold. Then we leave our product to dry for a couple of hours, and after the specified period, carefully remove the bomb from the mold and dry it until ready on a sheet of paper. All,

The relaxing fizz is ready, it's time to take a bath.

2. To lift spirits and create vigor

In general, everything will be the same here, only instead of lavender and rosemary esters, we’ll take invigorating citrus fruits - lemon, lime, sweet orange, grapefruit, in a word, any aroma that you love. I suggest choosing sweet almond oil as a base oil, and let’s get started.

Mix 4 tbsp. l. Baking soda with 2 tbsp. l. Citric acid and mix them well. Next, add almond oil to the bulk mixture first, and then citrus ether or a mixture of citrus fruits. We take base oil in a volume of 1-2 tbsp. l, and aromas in the amount of 10-12 drops. Mix everything again, check for stickiness and, if everything is in order, put the future bomb in the mold, and a day later we are happy with the result.

DIY bath bombs for kids

To make your own baby bath bombs, you can use the simple recipes above, excluding the dye. It is better to add something natural there, for example, flower petals, sea or pink salt, leaves of medicinal plants, and so on. Better yet, prepare a surprise bomb with a small toy inside. Can you imagine how much delight the baby will have when the bath first starts bubbling? fragrant ball, and then a rubber fish or duck will swim out of this ball. And I’ll give you an example interesting recipe, which caught my eye on the Internet.

From the given amount of ingredients you should get 5-6 bombs; the author suggests making them in the shape of hearts. I have such a mold, if you don’t have it, then you can take any other one that will fit 100 g of the mixture being prepared. So, for this recipe we will need:

  • 15th century l. Baking soda;
  • 6 tbsp. l. Limonki;
  • 3 tbsp. l. Sea salt and white clay;
  • 2 tbsp. l. Jojoba oils;
  • 15 drops of lavender essential oil.

Sift the soda through a sieve into an enamel or glass container, then pour in lemon, sea salt and white clay, ground in a coffee grinder, one by one. Mix everything thoroughly, better with your hands, and gradually add jojoba oil. Mix everything again and see if our mixture begins to stick together. Add lavender ether and mix the mixture again until a homogeneous mass is obtained. If at this point our mixture still doesn’t stick together well, then sprinkle it with two or three sprays of water from a spray bottle.

If the mixture is ready, as indicated by the consistency of wet sand and high-quality adhesion into a ball when squeezed in a fist, put it in molds, pressing well over the entire surface. Now our bombs will dry out like this for about an hour. At the end of this time, turn them over with the molds up, carefully remove them and leave them on a towel or sheet of paper for another day. For better drying, they can be placed near a radiator or room heater. When our hearts are dry, wrap them in cling film and put them in the refrigerator or other cool and dry place. Agree, it turned out beautifully, the baby will be delighted, and the adult will probably also be happy with such a gift.

We leave our bomb to dry in a warm, secluded place for 12-24 hours, and then enjoy the bath procedure. This composition remarkably calms and balances the nervous system, relieves fatigue, helps get rid of headaches and insomnia. And so that the bomb still sizzles, I would add 1 tsp to the water with ethers before combining them with the powder. Hydrogen peroxide, no matter what, is an acid, and it’s useful for disinfection.

Homemade bubble bath bombs

I also figured out how to make soap bombs for the bath with my own hands, which, when dissolved, will not only create a bubbling geyser, but also a head of foam. For this bathroom fireworks we will need:

  1. Baking soda 4 tbsp. l;
  2. Lemon 2 tbsp. l.
  3. Marine or pink salt 1 tbsp. l.
  4. Soap shavings 1-2 tbsp. l. (shavings can be grated on a fine grater or bought at a soap maker store);
  5. Basic vegetable oil, for example, sweet almonds 1-2 tbsp. l.
  6. Any essential oils in the amount of 10-15 drops, for me it will be lavender and chamomile.

In a deep bowl, combine soda, lemon, salt and soap shavings and mix them thoroughly. Then add base oil and esters and mix again. We check the mixture for stickiness by squeezing a small lump in the palm of our hand, and if everything is fine, we proceed to filling the mold. Then we leave the future bomb to dry for a day near a radiator or room heater, and after the specified time we are happy with the result.

And here’s another video from YouTube that clearly shows the whole process of making such bombs.

And finally, some useful tips:

Tip 1. If during cooking the composition suddenly begins to hiss, just add a pinch of dry ingredients - soda and lemon, this should muffle the reaction.

Tip 2. Instead of water, it is much more effective to use alcohol; on the one hand, it improves the adhesiveness of the mixture, and on the other hand, it does not cause a hissing reaction, because it has time to evaporate before the soda and acid interact.

Tip 3. In principle, you can mix the ingredients for bombs with your bare hands, however, if you decide to use dyes, it is better to wear gloves, because both food and synthetic dyes adhere well to the skin and are difficult to wash off.

Tip 4. If you are not going to use the product immediately after drying, then wrap it in 2-3 layers of cling film. This will protect the bomb from moisture getting into it and prevent the occurrence of a hissing reaction.

Tip 5. If you don’t know what to give your friend for March 8 or her birthday, arm yourself with a box with several homemade fizzy balls and tie it up satin ribbon, here the gift is ready. I definitely wouldn’t be able to resist such a box; I would be happy like a child.

That’s all for me today, I’m off to make bath bombs, because handmade things are so wonderful, I’ve already felt it in my homemade soap. By the way, I’ll tell you about homemade soap in one of the following articles, don’t miss it. And I’m waiting for all your questions, additions and wishes in the comments and I kindly ask you to click on the social network buttons that are located just below as a kind of “thank you”. And I, in turn, am for beautiful photos For this article, I thank Irina Astakhova, an excellent designer and photo retoucher from the site photo-magic.rf. With this, I say goodbye until new posts, with love, your Tatyana Surkova.

I love taking baths and I love bubble baths. They are so pleasant, and the bubbles tickle your skin so gently, it’s like you’re in a mini-jacuzzi.

There is just one thing, they are very expensive in stores, and you don’t want to spend 200, and sometimes 600, rubles for one bath. I found a way out - I started making these bombs myself! Besides, I found my hobby in this, because there is such scope for creativity. And now there is always something to give to friends, relatives and acquaintances 😀

Making bombs is quite easy: you don’t need anything supernatural to create them, everything can be found at home or in nearby stores.

The recipes are quite different, but the main ingredients remain the same - citric acid and soda. It is thanks to their interaction that such a reaction is obtained. We also need a mold, but you can use a regular ping pong ball cut in half, molds for candy and ice, children's sand molds and the like.

Auxiliary components: how to add more volume, mass, usefulness and beauty to bombs

Also, for volume, weight and additional usefulness, you can add dry fillers such as sea salt, sugar, different color clay, milk powder, starch, oat and rice powder (you can make it yourself), ubtans, Ayurveda powders, ground teas, coffee, cocoa (I just love the latter, the whole bathroom is filled with an intoxicating aroma). In general, everything that is possible.

You can also add extracts for benefits. They can be dry, in the form of green tea, calendula, lotus, sage. There may be oil, propylene glycol and glycerin.

As I already said, bombs are a space for creativity, so I add everything that catches my eye: sparkles, glitters, bath pearls, rose petals. I also paint them in various colors using ordinary food dyes, soap dyes, mineral pigments. I usually buy all these bells and whistles at Leonardo, or at the nearest craft store.

The recipe for the simplest bomb

But don’t be alarmed, you don’t have to use all this, for a simple bomb you will only need citric acid + soda in a ratio of 2:1, add the rest of the ingredients as much as you want (except for oil, you need to be careful with it and add no more than a tablespoon per 5 tbsp .l soda and 2.5 tbsp citric acid). All! The rest is a flight of fancy.

P.S. Be sure to read the recipe below, where I describe the manufacturing process in great detail.

ATTENTION! Before mixing the ingredients, be sure to wear gloves and preferably a mask with goggles, since citric acid is very volatile and can irritate the mucous membranes.

Now I will share with you the recipe for my most favorite and basic bomb.

  • Soda (5 tablespoons)
  • Citric acid (2.5 tablespoons). Moreover, citric acid should be in powder form, and not in liquid form.
  • Sea salt (1 tablespoon)
  • Some base oil (1 tablespoon). I love using coconut because I love the smell. You can also use olive, peach, and cocoa butter.
  • Essential oil (10 drops). Again, any, to your taste. I usually use tangerine, cinnamon, ylang-ylang, and peppermint oils.

ATTENTION! All containers and utensils you use must be completely dry to avoid causing a premature reaction.

So let's get started. The first step you need to mix citric acid with soda. If you use regular citric acid, then you need to additionally grind it in a coffee grinder (the same can be done with soda, but not necessarily). There is also a special ready-made citric acid for creating bombs, it is much finer, but if you grind it too, the bomb will be sculpted better. After grinding and mixing the ingredients, you need to wait a while for the “dust” to settle.

The second step add sea salt to the mixture. It should be fine or ground. By the way, sea salt can be with the addition of herbs, colored or some kind of delicious smell. All this will be a plus for our bomb.

On third step First add the base oil and then drop in the essential oil. Mix everything well, the mixture should be easy to mold and look like wet sand.

Basically, that’s it, our mixture is ready. But I also like to add different dyes to give the bomb color. I usually divide the mixture in half, color one part and leave the other white. Also at this step you can add glitter, glitter, dry petals.

Last step– put the mixture into molds (or into ball halves). Try to add more mixture to one half so that your bomb does not collapse when separated. The two halves need to be tightly fastened together and left to dry and fasten for several hours or even a whole day. It is better to dry in a cool place, but not in a warm place (tested from personal experience).

These bombs should be stored in a dry place (never in the bathroom), the shelf life is several years.

Possible manufacturing errors

  1. The bomb breaks or is covered in cracks

All due to the fact that you did not fasten the mass well. Next time you need to add more oil, or grind the baking soda and citric acid thoroughly (if you haven’t done this before).

  1. The mixture falls out (leaks out) from the mold

You do it in a too humid room, or on wet dishes, or water got in by accident. The solution is to put it in the refrigerator or freezer.

  1. During drying, the bomb flattens or becomes deformed.

If you don’t succeed the first time, or if some difficulties arise, don’t worry, everything will come with experience. At the beginning, I encountered all the problems that I described, and subsequently I got better at it and now everything turns out perfect every time. And you will succeed. Good luck to you!

Modern people rarely take the time to take a bath, but in vain: pleasant sensations and relaxation perfectly relieve irritation and tension. For greater relaxation, many add special oils, foam, sea salt and other products. In addition, you can use bath bombs with the aromas of essential oils or fragrances - a ball of this type begins to bubble, spin, spreading a pleasant and subtle scent. Their use can be a good alternative salt bath.

What is a bath bomb

Bath bombs are a product that contains specially selected compositions of oils, herbs, mud, clays and other dry ingredients. Some options contain glitter or flower petals inside. These effervescent balls are sometimes called geysers and are known for their healing properties. One of the main components, which is baking soda, works very well against itching and skin irritations, and citric acid makes bath balls fizz. You can give them any color using natural dyes.

Before using bubbling bath balls, learn about the rules for their use. In general, using bath bombs is very simple:

  • Next, fill the bathtub with water comfortable temperature and drop one of these bombs there.
  • As soon as the ball is in the water, it will begin to foam and bubble.
  • Then it will begin to fall apart and dissolve, as a result of which the aroma will be released, and beneficial oils and salts will fall into the water.

How to make a bath bomb

Bath balls are sold in specialty stores, but to save money, make your own with my own hands. With the right approach, a homemade ball will turn out no less fragrant and healthy than the store-bought version. To prepare it, you need to buy the ingredients in advance in accordance with the instructions with the photo - for example, dry flower petals, a few spoons of soda, food coloring. Then they are thoroughly mixed, take a mold and pour the whole mass into it. After this, the mixture is left to dry and finally wrapped in cling film.

Bomb Ingredients

The list of required ingredients may vary slightly depending on the recipe, but to get started, it would be nice to use the basic recipe for making fragrant bath balls. Please note that if you use solid oil in the future, you must first dissolve it in a water bath. In addition, if the mass does not stick together (does not mold) or after drying it crumbles, then you have not moistened it well. As for the basic ingredients, many of them are used in making soap:

  • citric acid in granules or powder;
  • baking soda;
  • sea or table salt;
  • dyes (additional component);
  • fillers (additional component).

In addition, you can put coarse colored salt or dried flowers on the bottom of the mold. Useful tips:

  • To prepare bath balls, use food coloring because... they are harmless to the skin.
  • If you over-moisten the bomb mixture, you can simply dry it next to the radiator or add dry ingredients in the correct proportions.
  • To avoid making a mistake with the amount of water, use a spray bottle.
  • When cooking, do not use apricot and peach kernel oil, as... the mass into which it is added does not hold its shape very well.
  • Store finished bath products in a dry place, but preferably in airtight packaging.

Do everything carefully so that the mass does not start to hiss. The end result should be a mixture similar to wet sand. Then:

  1. For a design, for example, in the shape of a heart, separate a little mass from the mixture, mix it with 1 g of food coloring and compact it at the bottom of the mold.
  2. Firmly compact the bulk of the mixture into the two halves of the mold, pressing them firmly together.
  3. After a few seconds, open both halves and leave the finished bomb to dry for a day.

With mint

A good choice for you might be the “Mint Ecstasy” recipe, which will give you a feeling of vigor and freshness throughout the day.
