The mounting strip for the machine for bending profile pipes is made of sheet metal of thickness not less than 7 mm. It is necessary to drill holes in it for installing the roller rotation axis and installing M6 studs (socket diameter 8 mm); holes are also drilled on the bar for the fixing bolts.

The handle (lever) for applying bending force is made of square profile cross-section 36*36 mm (wall thickness 4 mm, to the inner end of which two plates with 30 mm holes for the roller fixation bolts are welded.   4. The plates are installed along the edges wooden spacers 10 mm thick, which are glued to the metal using superglue. The supports are needed so that when rotating the roller does not touch the carrier plate.

  6. Next, you need to make four racks 40 cm long from the 50th corner and, using welding, secure them to the corners of the plate with the central shaft, fixing it on the supporting station of the machine (channel). The plate is installed in the central part of the racks so that between the axes of the rollers there is a distance equal to the size of the profile you plan to work with.

  7. Plugs are cut from 8 mm sheet metal and welded to the top of the racks. Next, you need to make a plate under the machine cover on which the adjusting screw will be installed. A hole is drilled inside the plate to match the diameter of the screw used (you can use grape press screw).
  8. Holes for bolts (diameter 10 mm) are drilled in the rack plugs and the cover plate is fixed to the racks.
  9. A thread is cut into the hole in the cover and a heel is screwed in, inside which the pressure screw will rotate.
  10. A 15 mm corner is welded to the plate, acting as an external screw stop, for which a hole is drilled in the corner, parallel to the axis of the heel. A thread of the appropriate size is cut into the hole.

  11. All that remains is to make a handle for the central shaft and fix it on the axis of rotation of the roller. As a handle, you can use a shutter bolt or a piece of fittings of the appropriate length.
  12. It also wouldn’t hurt to paint the machine to make it look more presentable. The paint coating will also protect the metal from corrosion.

How to bend using a machine made? The profile is laid on the shafts, after which the central roller is lowered using a pressure screw so that it rests against the pipe. Next, the rotary handle is rotated and the shafts move the profile, which bends under the pressure of the central roller.

Having stretched the profile along the entire length, we lower the clamping screw even lower and repeat the operation, moving the profile to reverse side. The process is carried out until the bend of the required radius is obtained.

I screw the sprockets on, not forgetting to insert the dowels. The dowels were made by cutting with an engraver.
I tighten the tensioner.

The next part is the handle for rotation. Don't forget to make a handle with a rotating tube so as not to rub calluses. And we install the jack, weld a couple of bolts and fix it on the site.

Result

It's time for bench testing! What can I say about the quality of the bend... the bend itself turned out just wonderful. There is a slight crease at the extreme points. There is no way without it. But thanks to the collar on the central shaft, there is no jam along the arc.

In principle, I am more than satisfied with the result. The machine turned out just right. It turns easily, bends well. All that's left is to give it a little presentation... paint is used.
