Kroll universal waste oil burners. Advantages of using Kroll burners

Many of our engineers consider Kroll burners to be the benchmark for ejection atomization and fuel combustion. I agree with them only regarding the protection mechanisms that prevent the burner from causing significant damage from incorrect operation. Without these mechanisms, operating the burner according to this principle - an open fuel heating tank - requires increased attention. I wrote about protection in Kroll burners almost at the very end brief overview. In the meantime, general and no less important.

Appearance of burnersKG/UB-150, KG/UB-200

Kroll one of the oldest brands producing universal liquid fuel burners. They are produced in Germany, and Russian market have gained high popularity among universal burners for burning waste oils.

Over the years, the design of the burners has not changed at all, and on the one hand this is good, because constant changes in the design of the burner indicate that the product is “raw”. On the other hand, it’s bad, is there really nothing to add to the design in 20 years?

Review of the Kroll KG/UB universal burner

It would be nice to make some minor changes to simplify maintenance, and more on that later. Add fuses to the power supply circuit of the execution devices. Or add the ability to adjust the extension of the nozzle assembly relative to the flame tube.

[sometimes necessary]

Open heating in the burner tank with temperature control up to 140 degrees allows you to use waste oils with high temperature flashes, such as diesel engine oils. For such oils the temperature is 70 degrees. not enough to ignite and it becomes more difficult for the burner to start. Either diluting it with diesel fuel or tricking the system with gas ignition is another pleasure.

[Where are the savings? ]

What about yourself? heating element? In low-capacity burners models 20, 55, 70, the heating element power of 1.1 kW is excessive. The result is coking on the heating surface. Let me remind you that fuel tank maintenance is 4 hours painstaking work or 6 hours for an untrained specialist.

[somehow not user friendly]

The operating principle differs from American-made burners primarily in the absence of a metering pump; fuel is not supplied to the spray nozzle under pressure, but is sucked from a small tank on the burner compressed air By . This creates a dependence of the injector flow rate on the fuel level and the cleanliness of the fuel intake pipes. And this is in addition to another dependence - on the temperature, and therefore the viscosity of the fuel in the burner tank, which “floats” in the range of +/- 10 0 C

[pulsates, now brighter, now dimmer]

German manufacturer does not install a built-in compressor on its burners, but supplies them as a separate unit and it is called. Quite an expensive “toy” but very durable. Such a compressor is called “dry” and does not require lubrication. And most importantly, it is very quiet. Who is tired of flinching from launches piston compressor- worth considering.

[nerves are not iron]

About systems on Kroll burners that ensure safety

Thanks to a large number of different sensors on the Kroll burner, its operation is as safe as possible, which is why it has gained its popularity. Although not this at all, but powerful work representation and an empty market niche at the dawn of the development of “waste oils” as fuel, but no one talks about this, although everyone guesses.

Only installed on these burners additional protection from fuel overflow and control of secondary air pressure from the pressure fan. That is, protection from any failure gives confidence that you can sleep peacefully, which can't say about others manufacturers who consider these “bells and whistles” unnecessary.

[European directives]

The high-pressure fan allows the burners to be operated on heat exchangers with high resistance to flue gases, without noticeable loss of power. But this does not mean that the burner should be placed in a boiler that is obviously lower in power than the burner’s operating range. Remember - heavy hydrocarbons burn slowly, they need space! Otherwise, traces of incomplete combustion will be visible immediately in the firebox. And another effect from the mismatch in thermal power of the boiler-burner pair is premature damage to the boiler lining.

[ and this expensive pleasure ]

The burner kit includes:

  • burner device
  • fuel transfer pump with filter (optional)
  • burner flange gasket
  • instructions and data sheet
The disadvantages of the Kroll burner are:
  • complex design, making it difficult to quickly and efficiently service,
  • lack of adjustment of the nozzle assembly relative to the flame tube
  • built-in compressor.
  • absence of intermediate relays of execution devices
Peculiarities:
Fuel heating system - open

Improvements and upgrades:

You can increase the power of Kroll burners using nozzles of a different rating, for example nozzle #49 or analogues

Our wishes to the manufacturer:

Implement adjustment of the nozzle assembly relative to the flame tube
add intermediate relays of execution devices
equip the compressed air regulator with a moisture separator
on younger models use lower power heating elements

This also includes oil from rapeseed and sunflower crops.

  1. Fuel from furnace ash residues.
  2. Diesel fuel.
  3. Animal fats.

To fully replace fuel from one type to another, you need to adjust the air supply and heating temperature. There is no need to open or change burners.

Advantages of using Kroll burners

The company that develops kroll burners produces products with the KG/UB series. Such equipment is equipped with a wide range of characteristic features:

  • A fully designed and carefully assembled filtration system. It allows all activities to be carried out in stages: initially, the fuel undergoes filtration and heating, and then burns, leaving no smoke or odor.
  • The kroll kg ub burner used contributes to a significant reduction in heating costs industrial enterprises, which contain used oil from organizations such as: automobile services and car sales stores, metal buildings for vehicles, extensive transformer booths, train parking, ship repair plants.
  • Kroll KG burners can be used in the food processing industry, where there is too much residual used vegetable oil, or in agricultural production.

Great offer fromKroll GmbH

Kroll KG UB 450, 900 and 1300 burners have outputs of 460, 910 and 1290 kW. Such characteristics contribute to the use of recycled oil for heating large areas of buildings and institutions: organizations selling vehicles, large organizations with their own fleet of vehicles and other large organizations with their own boiler houses.

The sale and purchase of Kroll burners is an absolutely unique transaction on the Russian market.

Why are Kroll burners good?

The unique Kroll kg burner should be purchased because it has the following bonuses:

  1. They have optimal parameters, which makes it possible to use them on water heating boilers and devices that generate heat from different manufacturers.
  2. The main components of the roll burner are quickly installed and are freely accessible. At the same time, they do not require complete disassembly of the equipment.
  3. The burners have several safety circuits and an emergency thermostat. This allows you to prevent breakdowns due to network congestion, and also achieve standard value temperature.

An additional advantage in choosing this burner is the possibility of supplying large quantity equipment. So, in the expanded delivery you can add:

  • A device for supplying fuel, in addition to which a floating fuel intake is included.
  • Minimum fuel filter.
  • Oil pump.
  • Fuel line.

All this makes choosing a burner from Kroll the most useful, economical and efficient for any room or building.

Fuel and quality meeting environmental requirements

Without major reconfiguration of the Kroll burner, mineral, vegetable and animal oils can be used as fuel. No special tools required. To switch from one type of fuel to another, you only need to adjust the air supply and change the fuel heating temperature

Vegetable oils are purchased by everyone higher value, due to rising prices for fossil oils. Their energy density lies very close to liquid fuel. Vegetable oils are renewable, CO2 neutral, and contain neither sulfur nor heavy metals.

Economical

Being independent from the energy market also means saving money. Agricultural enterprises can manage even without additional purchase of heating fuel.

Application

Heat generators are one of the most economical ways heating warehouses, workshops, industrial premises etc. Especially if they are used with a universal burner. Kroll offers a wide range of suitable heat generators

Fuel from the reservoir is pumped through a filter with a 100-micron cell into a small container with a heating element located on the burner body, where the fuel is heated to a temperature that provides the required viscosity. Depending on the type of fuel, the thermostat sets the heating temperature in the range from 0 to 140°C. The used oil, heated to a predetermined temperature, is sucked into the fuel line by compressed air from the compressor and sprayed through the nozzle, turning into a fine mixture at the outlet. The finished fuel-air mixture is ignited by an electric arc formed by a high-voltage transformer and ignition electrodes. The burner motor with fan impeller supplies secondary air to the combustion chamber of the boiler or air heater to maintain combustion. The volume of secondary air is regulated by a damper. Air flow, passing through a swirler installed in the burner nozzle, forms a correct flame oval, promoting stable combustion and maximum complete combustion fuel.
To operate burners models KG/UB 20 – 200, an additional connection is required air compressor. Burners models KG/UB 450 – 1300 have a built-in compressor.
