Surface preparation after paint removal. After removing the paint, the surface is cleaned and primed. After priming, putty in places, fill the cracks with acrylic sealant.

Installation of new elements of the door block. We attach a new one door leaf to the doorway and determine which sides need adjustment. This action is necessary because each opening in our apartments has its own geometry. There is rarely a perfect rectangle. For this reason, we warn the Customer: we allow gaps between the frame and the door leaf from 1mm to 5mm. Door blocks can be designed for door leaves with a thickness of 30mm. The new canvas has a thickness of 35mm. If necessary, you can increase the box up to 40mm. If the box is tilted, then we will not be able to level it. We will fasten the doors, adapting to this circumstance - it is possible that the gaps between the leaf and the frame may increase or the door leaf will spontaneously open and close. After adjustment, we cut in the hinges. The hinges may be in a new location. We usually mount the handles opposite the old strike plate on the box. We adjust and install the frame painted in two layers.

Painting the door block with colored enamel VD-AK 1035U. We support the National manufacturer and use the products of the private unitary enterprise "MAV" Dzerzhinsk RB. The paint is acrylic, environmentally friendly - without allergenic odors (i.e. it does not stink). Retains elasticity for a long time, unlike alkyd paints, which quickly harden and easily chip when hit or scratched. Paint, like PVA glue, is diluted with water, but once it dries, you can’t wash it off with water. You can remove dried paint with 646 solvent or nail polish remover. It can be stored for a long time, does not peel off or dry out over time, do not put it in the cold and keep it in a tightly closed container. I offer a palette of 70 popular colors and shades. Apply with roller and brush. The number of layers is from 3 to 8, so the price can vary up to two and a half times. Drying time for each layer is 30-40 minutes at room temperature (about 20 degrees). To increase the service life or change the gloss of the surface, you can apply varnish (during varnishing, a slight change in color is possible, therefore, with subsequent tinting with paint, color discrepancies are possible).

Decorative finishing. It is possible to paint the frame, trim and frame on the glass in one color, and the door panels in another. We suggest making PATINA on the doors with MDF coating- highlighting the texture on the door panels with a different color.

Care instructions: The paint is enamel, i.e. the surface can be wiped with a damp not hard) fabric with non-aggressive detergents. Rubbing with scrapers and other hard objects is not recommended. If stains that are difficult to remove occur, we recommend touching up with a sponge (you can use a dishwashing sponge). After painting we leave it to the Customer sufficient quantity care paints (from 100 to 200 grams per door). Drying time for the 1st layer at room temperature is 30-50 minutes. Ready to use, i.e. acquisition of operational properties - 3 days. Store the paint at a temperature not lower than 0 degrees Celsius in a tightly closed container (it is better glass jar with double polyethylene. lid).

NOTE: The work is performed at the customer’s home or in premises provided by the customer. Work is associated with increased levels of noise and dust. The customer himself takes care of protecting the property from dust contamination. It is better to work on doors before wallpapering.

Where to start replacing the door leaf

First we remove the crippled canvas from the door frame. We take a new canvas and make markings for the loops. The hinges were mortise, not overhead. Therefore, you will have to work with a chisel. We remove the distance of the loops from the old canvas and transfer it to the new one. Usually the loops are placed 20 cm from the edge of the canvas, but it would be worth checking.
Unfortunately, I did not find among my tools the template that I used to cut out the grooves for hinges using by hand. milling machine. IN Lately overhead hinges are being used more and more. They do not require insertion and are a pleasure to work with.

We make the markings and get to work. The canvas is painted, so first remove the top thin layer paints, and then we go deeper. The end of the door is made of pressed sawdust, so it is easy to work with a chisel. You can even do without a hammer.

Having made the grooves for the hinges, we move on to inserting the handle. We transfer the distance from the previous blade in the same way, otherwise the latch will not coincide with the strike plate. Having made markings for the handle, we cut it out with a crown big hole for the mechanism. Next we take a 23 mm feather drill. and cut a hole in the end of the door for the latch.

The latch bar needs to be recessed “flush”. For ease of marking, turn the bar over and trace it with a pencil. Select the resulting rectangle with a chisel and check the position of the latch.

Screw the loops to door leaf and carry the canvas to door frame. Using wedges, we align the canvas so that the loops on it coincide with the grooves on door frame. Since the screws will have to be screwed into the box a second time, it would be better to seal the holes a little. I use matches or toothpicks. Just insert a toothpick into the hole and break it off. Having thus sealed all eight holes for the two hinges, screw the hinges to the box. If you have made the markings accurately, then the loops on the canvas will clearly coincide with the mounting location on the box.

Close the door and check the gaps. And then a surprise awaits us. The door fits too tightly to the frame post on which the latch striker is located. Why did it happen? We measure the width of both door panels and compare. This is true. New blade 2 mm. wider than before.

In order to slightly increase the gap, it is necessary to recess the counter plate and make it “flush” with the plane of the box. If this does not help, more serious measures will have to be taken. For example, you can remove 2-3 mm from the opposite end of the door, where the hinges are. using a manual milling machine. The end will have to be painted over. The same can be done with the upper end, if suddenly, when cutting and assembling the box, you made a mistake by making it shorter than necessary. By using hand router you can easily and most importantly, very accurately and efficiently remove a few millimeters. Nobody will notice.

In this case this was not necessary. The measures to recess the striker plate turned out to be sufficient. The door closes and opens perfectly. Let's move on to the next stage.

When renovating an apartment or private house, it is often necessary to replace the interior door. But it is not necessary to reinstall the entire structure: if the box is in good condition, then it is enough to change only the canvas. For some hinges, you must first remove the rods and only then remove the product.
3. To remove the old canvas, you can use a crowbar or pry bar, lifting the canvas like a lever. This must be done slowly so that the door does not fly off its hinges. It is better to work with a partner, when one person holds the canvas and the other lifts it.
4. After this, you need to unscrew and inspect the hinges on the box and on the door. If they have no defects, then the part on the door frame is left in place. If there is damage, the fittings need to be replaced. This option is preferable since the hinges also tend to wear out. In addition, they must fit the new design, and old fittings can significantly deviate from the overall design.

The entire door frame should also be inspected. It is better to remove the platbands and see if there are any cracks or crevices underneath them. If they appear, be sure to putty them, and then just put the planks in their original place.

How to install a new door?

1. If necessary, the new canvas is adjusted to the dimensions of the old one. If the box is made of metal, it may have different widths at the bottom and top. Then the product is narrowed a little. The cut edge must be decorated (painted, pasted over) after installation of the structure.
2. Make markings for future loops. They may be new or from a previous door. This must be done precisely. The hinges are mounted using screws (screwdriver or screwdriver). 6. Make markings for the top guide. It must be installed above the doorway.
7. A metal guide is attached to a wooden beam. It is fixed using anchorage at the top of the canvas. It is important to check the correctness of the work performed with a level.
8. Now you need to insert the new door into the old frame. To do this, place it vertically and slightly tilt it away from you. The upper rollers need to be placed on their guide. After which the product is slightly raised and placed on the lower bar, placing it on moving rollers.

At the end of the work, special limiters are installed. They are necessary so that the canvas does not fly off the guides. Then install the handle and check how the door works. It should move smoothly, without significant effort. If any deficiencies are found, they must be corrected immediately.
