Ready-made wafer cakes are most often used for making desserts. But this semi-finished product is also great for preparing a hot dish. For example, it can be made in waffle cakes and in batter. The dish is very original and, as a rule, very popular with children.

  • 4 waffle cakes;
  • 50 ml of vegetable oil;
  • 250 gr. pork;
  • 250 gr. beef;
  • 4 eggs;
  • 2 tablespoons of starch;
  • 1 onion;
  • salt and spices to taste.

We twist pork and beef through a meat grinder. It is advisable to skip the meat 2-3 times, the last time you should use the smallest grate. Onions can be passed through a meat grinder along with meat, or finely chopped. In the latter case, we recommend frying the onion in vegetable oil until tender, and only then add it to the minced meat.

Advice! Before adding the fried onion to the minced meat, put it on a sieve to remove excess oil. Then your dish will not turn out too greasy.

Salt minced meat to taste, add pepper or other spices to taste. Add about a quarter cup of cold water and mix well.

We take one waffle cake, put half of the meat filling on it, distributing it in an even layer. Put another waffle on top and press down a little. At this stage, it is important not to overdo it so that the dry waffle does not break into pieces. Leave the workpiece for 10-15 minutes for impregnation. Do the same with the remaining two waffle cakes.

Cooking batter. To do this, beat the eggs with salt and add starch to the egg mixture. We mix.

After the cakes are soaked and become softer, they need to be cut into sectors, like a cake. As a rule, one blank is cut into 8 parts. But this is unprincipled, you can make pieces larger or smaller, as you like.

  • Pork - 400 g.
  • Egg - 3 pcs.

  • Ground black pepper - a pinch

1. To prepare this dish, we need the following ingredients: pork, potatoes, eggs, flour, spices.

2. Cut the pork into pieces. We beat off each piece of meat on both sides. Season the meat: black pepper, salt, paprika. To avoid damage in the meat, put a cling film on it, beat through it. Still the hammer will remain clean.


3. Now we make a batter. Whisk the eggs, salt, flour and sour cream into a bowl. Instead of sour cream, you can take mayonnaise. It should be thick in consistency so that the potatoes hold well in the batter. Stir until smooth, the mixture should turn out without lumps. This amount of batter is enough for 8-10 medium chops.


4. Rinse the potatoes under running water, peel them. Grate it on a coarse grater.


5. Immediately put the potatoes in the batter, mix with a fork. You can add more or less potatoes depending on your preference. If you want the potato batter to be thin, add fewer potatoes.


6. We take a chop in hand. We collect the batter with a tablespoon and distribute it over it, put it immediately on a hot frying pan with vegetable oil. Cover with batter on top. Fry first over high heat until browned.


7. Turn the chop over to the other side, fry already on medium heat for about 5 minutes. You can’t cover it with a lid, otherwise the batter will turn out soft and not tasty. You don’t have to worry that the meat will not be fried, the main thing here is that the potatoes have time to cook.


8. Pork chops in a pan in batter are ready. Serve them hot right away while the potato crust is still crispy. Bon Appetit!


Cooking Tips:

  1. Pork must be fresh, of good quality, odorless. The color of fresh pork should be light pink.
  2. Be sure to rinse the pork and dry it with a paper towel, if this is not done, the temperature will decrease during frying, the meat will not have time to crust, then all the juice will flow out.
  3. You need to cut the meat across the fibers, in pieces 1 cm thick. This is done so that it is well fried.
  4. If you want the meat to have an unusual taste, you can first marinate it in a mixture of vegetable oil with lemon juice and spices.
  5. Be sure to season the meat well with spices so that the dish does not turn out bland.
  6. The batter should be thick, roughly like thick sour cream. If it's too thick, add a couple of tablespoons of water. The thickness of the batter is up to you.
