How to make a cross for a 3 meter tree. How to make a stand for a Christmas tree? Five solutions to the main New Year's problem. Happy everyone

On the eve of the main holiday of the year, people are in a hurry to decorate their home Christmas trees. And when the green beauty is completely dressed up, the gaze suddenly falls on its base, which looks somehow boring and even completely impartial. Someone immediately takes out an elegant tinsel and puts it around the supply, others strive to arrange picturesquely in a circle of various souvenir characters - the Snow Maiden, Santa Claus, the Snowman, but still others decide to pack boxes in wrapping paper that will represent fake gifts. As you can see, there are a lot of ideas, but we will go further, and today we will tell you how to decorate the bottom of the tree, so that the whole composition looks holistic, spectacular and incredibly beautiful.

How to decorate a Christmas tree stand.

Wicker basket.

A very simple yet perfect idea for decorating a herringbone base. What could be simpler, choose a basket according to the size of the cross of a home beauty. Needlewomen can prepare such baskets from paper tubes in advance, and then paint them in absolutely any shade.

Decorative rugs.

This is, perhaps, a classic of the genre, before the New Year, textile skirts under the herringbone are sold literally everywhere, but if you wish, you can make them yourself. At the end of this review, you will find a video telling how to make one. It is better to select the shade of the fabric for the rug to match the decor of the green beauty, for example, if during the design you stopped at gold and red tones, then you can buy or sew the rug in this palette.

ON A NOTE! You can also put a rocking horse, a drum or a miniature composition of a winter courtyard under the tree. How to do it all yourself is shown in the video below!

Galvanized metal basin.

A very simple solution, but incredibly New Year's. Christmas trees in such basins look literally 5+. Tazy are sold in hardware stores or markets. Well, or you can temporarily ask your grandparents for them.

Wooden box.

Another equally interesting idea is the use of wooden boxes. You can ask for these in grocery stores, or rather in grocery stores. As a last resort, such a box, if desired and skillful, can be put together from plywood or wooden slats. The natural tone of the tree looks very beautiful, but if desired, it can be painted in absolutely any color that harmonizes with the shade of the decor on the herringbone.

Pot.

A street flowerpot may well serve as a temporary shelter for a New Year's tree. It is only necessary to carefully install it in the flowerpot and sprinkle it with sand to fix it.

Knitted blanket.

Elementary decor, but how it looks - you can't take your eyes off! It is enough just to take a very large knit blanket and lay it around the base of the Christmas tree.

Wooden sleigh.

Well, this decoration of the base of the Christmas tree can be attributed to the favorites. This wooden sleigh looks thematically, spectacular, cozy and really fits the Christmas tree perfectly. If you wish, you can make them yourself, or you can go the easier way - order their manufacture from a carpenter.

Sackcloth.

Burlap will look very nice and harmonious at the base of the fluffy beauty. It can be tucked around the stand, or you can put a herringbone cross in the center of the fabric and pin it on top like a bag tie.

Mini town.

An incredibly fabulous idea - the development of a village around the Christmas tree. You can put a mini fence and put benches, figures of people, animals behind it, and sprinkle everything.

Gift box.

To do this, a hole must be made in the box lid, into which the trunk of the Christmas tree is inserted, and the crosspiece must be threaded from below. That's all, the wonderful decor is ready, and most importantly, everything is done quickly and easily!

How to make a herringbone skirt (video):

Well, now you know how to decorate the bottom of the tree. Whichever option you choose to decorate its base above, the result will be beyond praise! Until next time on the pages of the "Decorol" website.

Preparing for the main holiday of the year is a troublesome business. After all, there is so much to redo. The main thing is to set the tree as a symbol of the New Year. And if everyone approaches the decorations responsibly with tinsel, toys and garlands, then they always forget about the stand. However, not properly designed stand can ruin the whole image. In addition to beauty, it is important that the structure provides the maximum stability of the Christmas tree. The stand can be bought, as well as made by yourself from scrap materials.

DIY Christmas tree stand options

Having decided to make a stand with your own hands, you need to remember that it should not only provide stability, but also look beautiful. If the diameter of the spruce's leg is small, and the tree itself is not high, then a small stump is perfect as a stand. A stump about 30 cm high is enough. You will also need a drill, glitter for decoration, glue and a brush. It is necessary to drill a hole in the stump, equal in diameter to the spruce trunk. It should also be strictly perpendicular to the floor. After that, the stump must be covered with glue and sprinkled with sparkles.

REFERENCE! If there is a cross, but it is unpresentable, you can give it a stylish look by using a regular wooden box as a decor element. You do not need to close the box itself. It can be slightly sanded and varnished. Put toys and other Christmas tree decorations inside.

In the absence of a cross, you can make it yourself.

Wooden cross for a tree

This is the easiest and most inexpensive way to make a cross for a Christmas tree.

For him you will need:

  1. Several bars.
  2. Drill with drills of the required diameter.
  3. Hacksaw or plane.
  4. Self-tapping screws.
  5. Glue.

Phased execution:

  1. First you need to prepare the bars. They need to be given the desired length by carefully cutting the ends. This must be done as evenly as possible in order to avoid swaying the tree.
  2. The next step is to cut the grooves. This can be done with a chisel. The depth of the groove should be about half the thickness of the bar.
  3. The resulting grooves must be covered with glue to securely fix the bars.
  4. Next, you need to assemble the cross.
  5. When the glue is completely set, the bars must be additionally fixed with self-tapping screws. This is required to ensure the stability of the structure, since the trees have a considerable mass.
  6. The final step is to drill a hole in the middle of the resulting cross. Its diameter should be equal to the diameter of the tree.

ATTENTION! If there are no blocks at hand, they can be replaced with boards or MDF. Since their thickness is much less than that of the bars, and it is not possible to drill a hole, something must be attached to them to install the Christmas tree. To do this, you can take, for example, an aluminum coffee can. You also need a plate to which the jar will be attached.

In this case:

  • the jar needs to be welded to the plate;
  • for greater stability, additional stiffening ribs need to be welded to it;
  • boards must be glued together;
  • then, using self-tapping screws, attach the plate with the can to the cross-piece made of boards or MDF.

After that, the bank needs to be beautifully decorated, for example, with the help of tinsel, or you can make decorative gifts and put them under the tree.

Christmas tree stand made of metal

If the necessary tools are available, the stand can be made of metal.

This will require a pipe and rods. The pipe diameter must match the diameter of the tree trunk. Procedure:

  1. The rods need to be fixed in a vice and, with a hammer, give them the shape of future legs. This must be done very carefully in order to achieve maximum symmetry. Otherwise, the tree will swing after installation.
  2. In order for the spruce to hold better in the inner part of the pipe, it is necessary to make several grooves.
  3. The legs are welded to the pipe. If they turned out to be of different lengths, the rods must be cut with a grinder.
  4. All ends of rods and pipes must be sanded to remove roughness.
  5. Further, the resulting structure is painted in the desired color.
  6. It is necessary to put a jar of water under the pipe, and then install a Christmas tree.
  7. The stand, if necessary, can be disguised with tinsel.

After making the selected version of the cross and installing the tree, you can start decorating the New Year tree. This is how, with a little effort and a minimum of materials, you can make a spruce stand.

Found. But since he promised to show a couple of options for installing a Christmas tree in a hurry, then you will have to make a new one. This is a simple matter, but you never know, maybe someone will come in handy.

I'll make a reservation right away. By a tree, I mean a coniferous tree with a height of two meters or more. A meter-long stump can be stuck into a bucket of sand and not steamed. But, to be honest, this is not a tree. It is a potted plant. A Christmas tree is when the star is above the head, and not under the armpit. I have nothing against artificial. Nice, practical, comfortable. It's just that the sight of a plastic tree keeps pushing me on the same thought. If the tree is artificial, then why isn't the Olivier made of papier-mâché? Logically, if the tree is plastic, then the herring under the fur coat must be synthetic. Plastic champagne, plastic caviar, dummies instead of gifts, inflatable latex guests. Convenient, practical, beautiful. Nobody falls with a face with a salad, does not vomit vinaigrette in the toilet, you don't need to wash or eat anything, wiped it with a rag in the morning and put it away. And that's it, and I forgot. Well, that's great?

In short, I am a supporter of a living tree. And I try, if possible, to go after her not to the market, but to the forest. It's not about money, it's just strange somehow, living in the forest to buy a Christmas tree in the market from Azerbaijanis. The tree is not a watermelon. But by and large it doesn't matter where the tree is from, the main thing is that it was. And when there is a tree, you need to put it up somehow.

There are a million ways and options. You can stupidly buy a crosspiece, such as this, in the market or at the Christmas tree bazaar.

I will not talk about the shortcomings of this method, whoever has encountered it knows. If there is no time, opportunity, or desire to do this, then there are several simple, practice-tested ways to install the Christmas tree neatly and reliably with your own hands.

Option one. Crosspiece.

The cross, in my understanding, should be of such a design that it would hold the tree in the presence of chaotically moving objects in the house, such as dogs, cats, children, drunk relatives. So that it would be possible to knock it down only by falling flat from the stool. You can make a reliable cross with straight arms and a minimum of tools in an hour. With experience - half an hour maximum. In general, according to the mind, the cross is made each time for a specific tree. He is thrown out with her.

What is needed for this?

Some kind of wooden base. Anything will do, a board, a bar, a picket fence from a neighbor's fence. Last year I bombed a pallet that accidentally turned up in the yard. It turned out not very nice, but reliable.

This time, the base will be such a 5x4 bar.

Honestly, it should be wider. The wider the timber, the more reliably it holds the tree. But what is, it is.

Tool. A set of maximum - a tape measure, a hacksaw, a pencil, a square, a drill, a screwdriver, a dozen screws. A set of minimum - a hacksaw, tape measure, hammer, a dozen nails, acres.

Cut off, trying to keep the semblance of a right angle.

We figure out how it will all fit together.

We measure the thickness of the butt of the tree. (Since our hole is square, then the butt can also be cut in principle, made square. But if there is no experience, it’s better not. You can grind the tree down and get exhausted yourself)

We postpone this distance from the edge of each bar. (It is better to take a little less, so that the butt is well clamped. I have a butt thickness a little more than five centimeters. I save exactly five.)

Immediately I postpone the second distance, the line along which the bars will join. This is half the thickness of the bar.

We drill a couple of holes for self-tapping screws along the line.

Since my timber is thick, and the screws are not very long, the holes will have to be countersunk.

Done, you can collect.

Here's what happened in the end.

What is missing from this crosspiece? As well as in those that are sold on the market. To make the tree stand longer, it needs moisture. The butt must be in the water. Cut off four cubes from the same bar.

Drilling, countersinking, screwing.

Well, that's all in principle. You can put a Christmas tree. Having previously put some kind of cap for water from below.
If necessary, align the barrel with wedges.

Second way. Cup.

For this option, no tools are required except a screwdriver and a dozen self-tapping screws. You also need some kind of massive base. I have two scraps of kitchen countertops lying around on my balcony, left over after installing the stove and sink. You also need three corners. The assortment of such corners in every household is in abundance.

Everything is quite simple here. Find the center, draw a circle.

We put the corners, screw them up.

You can put a tree and fix it. Five minutes of time.
If you wish, you can take a polypropylene plumbing pipe of a suitable diameter

and cut a piece from it.

You will get a glass.

Pulling a pair of condoms onto it from below, you can safely pour water.

A not very aesthetic look can be easily draped with improvised means.
Well, that's all. The time for all this homemade product took me three times less than writing a post.

Option three. Stool.

If there is absolutely an edge and there is nothing at hand, you can stupidly turn over the kitchen stool and tie the tree to the legs :))

And in conclusion.

If someone has problems with his hands, or he is a girl, then you can come and pick up this crosspiece for yourself. I can even write "Hell daragog Rocketcheg for eternal memory" on it.

If possible, show how and what is your tree. Just wondering.

About the quality of photos.
Since during the shooting, the shket went to some New Year's performance and took the camera with him, the pictures had to be taken with what was at hand. A test smartphone was at hand

The main decoration of the New Year is undoubtedly the green forest beauty, which should be installed in such a way that during the celebration it does not fall and unforeseen situations arise.

Of course, today there are a lot of all kinds of options, due to which the process of installing a Christmas tree occurs in a matter of minutes. These include various crosses, spacers, factory-made fasteners. However, sometimes it is required to install a Christmas tree without a cross, and we would like to talk about how to do this most optimally.

Standard installation of a Christmas tree in the sand

It involves the placement of a green beauty in conditions close to natural, due to which the tree does not lose its attractiveness for a long time and can delight others for a whole month.

The process of mounting a Christmas tree in the sand is carried out in the following sequence:

  • The tree trunk is aligned (using a hacksaw, you should cut the edge of the trunk so that you get an even cut);
  • Using wooden blocks 150-200 mm long, reinforcement is made, for which the materials are knocked crosswise and the entire structure obtained is nailed to the end of the Christmas tree trunk;
  • The barrel treated in this way is placed on the bottom of the bucket, and the entire tank is filled with wet clean sand.

To ensure moisture, the sand should be periodically watered with warm, slightly sweetened water.

High-speed installation of the Christmas tree

A more innovative solution is to quickly set up the Christmas tree using a bucket and plastic bottles (1.5 - 2 liters). The essence of this method boils down to the fact that plastic bottles are filled with water (not to the eyeballs) and installed vertically in the bucket around the perimeter so that there is a gap for installing the barrel. After that, the trunk of the tree is forcefully inserted into the cavity formed in the middle, and the tree is qualitatively fixed in the bucket.

Essentially, the water bottles act as spacers and hold the tree trunk in position in the bucket. The advantages of this method are obvious:

  • You can install a Christmas tree with any trunk diameter (by selecting plastic bottles of a certain size);
  • Absolute cleanliness during work (unlike installation in sand, with this option, there is absolutely no debris);
  • The speed of work (you can install a Christmas tree without a cross using plastic bottles in a couple of minutes).

Watering such a tree also does not cause difficulties and warm water is simply poured into a bucket (5 cm from the bottom) and is periodically added as needed.

From all of the above, we can conclude that installing a Christmas tree is a very responsible procedure, which, if all the recommendations are followed, can be performed independently.

Shortly before the new year, in many families, men will begin to think about how to fix a living Christmas tree at home. If the spruce is artificial, most often no questions arise. Old crosses, made of two slats with a hole in the middle, do not give the tree the necessary stability, and when there are small children in the house, this becomes a basic requirement. Often, even an old crosspiece simply cannot be found among the many things that have filled a pantry or basement.

We invite you to watch a video that shows the whole process of creating a cross for a New Year's beauty

In order to make a crosspiece we need:
- board;
- screws;
- hacksaw;
- drill;
- drill;
- screwdriver;
- pencil;
- furniture stapler.

To create the simplest cross for a Christmas tree, it is best to take a pine board, it is best to take a thickness of 2 cm.

We cut the board into four parts, each should be 300 mm long and 80 mm wide. Dimensions are based on the assumption that the tree will be about two meters high.

On each part, we make a cut from the middle to the edge at an angle of 45 °. And on the other hand, from the ends we make a cut at an angle of 5 ° (instead of the usual 90 °, to get 85 °). This is necessary so that when assembling our cross, a slight narrowing is obtained near the hole.

The clippings should not be thrown away. They can be used as wedges for a more secure fixation of the tree trunk.

After that, you should outline the holes through which the parts of the crosspiece will be fastened to each other. On each part, it is necessary to make two marks located vertically relative to each other, and the axis on which the marks are made should also be tilted 5 ° from the vertical.

Drills holes according to marks.

Thanks to the inclination of the holes taken into account in advance, when assembling the cross, a trapezoidal hole will be obtained for secure fastening of the tree trunk.
We assemble the cross using a screwdriver and screws.

In order for the crosspiece not to stagger and so that the middle is higher than the edges, we stuff small fiberboard plates on the edges of the legs, securing them with a stapler bracket.

By inserting the tree trunk into the crosspiece, we additionally wedge it with the remaining board scraps; if necessary, you can fix the trunk with freezing screws for stability.
