Transfer of the GTA Online character to the PC. Character transfer in GTA: Online How character transfer works in GTA 5

For a comfortable transition from the first version of the game for PS3 and Xbox 360 to the improved version for PS4, Xbox One, PC, the developers have added the function of transferring progress. All players who already had something in the world got a chance (but only one) to comfortably move to another platform without wasting time, energy and nerves. However, this opportunity, as it turned out, is not eternal. On March 6, 2017, the transfer of progress was no longer available.

"Routes" along which you can transfer everything acquired:

  • PS3 to PS4, Xbox One and PC;
  • Xbox 360 to Xbox One, PS4, and PC
  • PS4 to PC;
  • from Xbox One to PC.
What is migrated (Online only):
  • money,
  • level and reputation points (RP),
  • game achievements (statistics, cases, contacts, etc.),
  • items and property (you do not need to buy again!), namely - weapons with modifications, vehicles with modifications (will appear in the same garage as before the transfer), real estate, clothing, accessories;
  • all cases created in the editor,
  • all information about the player's gangs,
  • all online achievements and trophies.
What is NOT portable:
  • Purchased but not spent, GTA $ (donation) will not be transferred between consoles of two different manufacturers (from PS3 to Xbox One and from Xbox 360 to PS4);
  • Playlists with published cases and featured playlists will also not be transferred between consoles of two different manufacturers;
  • leaderboards, world records and personal records,
  • old photos will not be available in-game, but will still remain on the Rockstar Games Social Club site.

Roundup for cheaters

We would like to thank everyone who helps us fight cheaters and hackers by reporting violations directly from the game menu. We strive to ensure a level playing field for all players, and to this end, we are constantly improving the algorithm for detecting cheaters, including users who wind up the RP counter, participate in distributions of money and use modifications in order to harm other players.

Thanks to everyone in the GTA Online community for a great 2016.

And finally, we would like to say thank you to all of you, dear players, for a great 2016. This year ended with an epic December, with more people playing GTA Online than in any previous month. Good evening, readers of my blog and casual gamers who made it to this page!

Today I would like to tell you about how I made the transfer of the character. Gta v, or rather - GTA Online with all game progress in Steam, despite the fact that I bought the game directly at rockstargames.com. It will be useful for those who face the same situation.

Not so long ago, I wrote a small review on Grand theft auto v- everything that I would like to say about the game is described there, so I will not write about it here. I will only say that when I bought GTA V - there was a 50% discount, I installed Steam and wanted to buy the game in it, but I still didn't really know how to use it, so it turned out that the link from the description of the game took me to a regular browser, where I paid for the game on rockstargames.com. After registering the key in Social Club- in the downloads, the installer becomes available, which will install Social Club on your computer and download all the game files. All you need to play GTA V in this case is to log in to the Social Club application, which checks for a paid copy of the game in your account. Steam was not needed.

After passing the prologue, the online game becomes available. For a year and a half of playing, I earned / robbed / put into the game a lot of money and bought myself apartments, cars, an office, warehouses, a motorcycle club, a bunker, a trailer and much more. A lot of time and effort was spent on the game. During this time, I have already bought several other games on Steam and I like to play through Steam - all games are in one place, everything is loaded automatically + achievements, cards, badges, level, friends, activity, communication, etc. Realizing this, I wanted GTA V to appear in my Steam library too. Adding it as a third-party is not an option, because achievements and hours from it will not appear there.

Then I decided to write in those. rockstargames support the question of whether it is possible transfer character GTA Online on Steam. They answered the following:

We would like to inform you that ** to run the game through Steam, you need to have a Steam version of GTAV **. Also, the progress of your current character cannot be transferred to your Steam account, since we are talking about two different versions of the game, the progress of which is not connected in any way.

Thank you for understanding.

Screenshot of the correspondence:

After that, I wrote to them again, but the question was already redone - is it possible to simply transfer all the money that I bought in the game on my other account if I buy GTA V again, but this time on Steam. I got a negative answer to this too:

For a while I gave up on this idea, but in June 2017 there was a 50% discount on GTA V on Steam again and I decided that I had to buy it. It soon became clear that I did it for a reason and Rockstar Support me just misinformed.

How do I transfer my GTA Online character to Steam?

  1. If you purchased the game directly from rockstargames.com, you have already have a Social Club account which stores your entire gameplay.
  2. You can completely remove the game from your pc because the local game files are different from those supplied via Steam.
  3. Buy Grand Theft Auto V on Steam and install
  4. At the first start, the exact same window will appear where you need to log in to your Social Club account or register a new one.
  5. Log in to existing account and start the game.
  6. Go through the prologue, then enter GTA Online.

After connecting, the same character you played will be available to you, all purchases and the entire gameplay will be saved, as well as on Steam as a bundle achievements from past progress will appear online(I immediately dropped 12 achievements). To get some achievements, you need play story mode again, but through Steam.

Enjoy the game everyone!
