Choosing corrugated sheeting for the fence: sheet dimensions and markings. What are the sizes of corrugated sheets for a fence? What is the standard width of corrugated sheets?

As with any rolled metal, the dimensions of the profiled sheet are one of its most important characteristics. And if the choice for the intended purpose is primarily influenced by the height of the sheet profile, as well as the length of the latter, then the amount of this material required for certain work mainly depends on the width, and often only on it. This parameter has two values for a profiled sheet of each standard size, and you should know the differences between them and operate them correctly.

1 Overall and working width of profiled sheets - what is the difference?

The actual width of the sheet is the total width. That is, along with the height of the profile (wave) of the product and the length of the latter, this is one of overall dimensions. If the profiled sheet standard length(2.4–12 m), then the total width is measured along the narrow side. But the product can be cut into pieces that are significantly shorter than the minimum 2.4 m. In this case, the width is always measured across the corrugations (profiles) of the sheet, even if this side is longer. Moreover, this applies to both the total and working width, the definition and purpose of which will be discussed below.

Technologically produced with overlap. One profile wave of the next product is superimposed on one of the previous ones in the order of installation. As a result, partial “absorption” of the width occurs, and the actual consumption of sheets increases. An additional characteristic has been introduced for this profiled sheet size. They called it working or useful width. It exactly corresponds to the length of the gap, which will actually be covered by 1 corrugated sheet after overlapping installation.

Manufacturers of profiled sheets usually, at least according to GOST, are required to indicate exactly the working width in the designation of their products, and in mm.

This allows the end consumer and selling companies to immediately draw a conclusion from the name of a particular product about one of its performance characteristics - how much area it can actually cover during installation. Based on this, it is already possible to calculate the required amount of corrugated sheets for certain works.

Take, for example, a product for wall installation S10-1000-0.6:

  • C indicates that it is a wall material;
  • 10 – height of the sheet profile in mm;
  • 1000 – working width in mm;
  • 0.6 – sheet thickness in mm.

Moreover, the total width of this product, according to GOST 24045, is 1022 mm. It is easy to calculate that the difference from the working one is 22 mm. For each type and specific standard size of corrugated sheet, the total and working width differ by a certain distance. The difference can reach 60 mm. It depends on the height, size and geometry of the profiles, as well as their number on the sheet.

2 How to independently determine the useful width of a profiled sheet?

When purchasing a profiled sheet at any retail outlet, you may encounter cases where sellers indicate not the working width, but the total width. It is very easy to identify this - just measure the product. If the width indicated in the store coincides with the total actual width, then it is the latter that the seller entered in the name of the sheet. IN similar situation you will have to determine the performance characteristics of the material yourself. This is not difficult to do.

You should take 2 corrugated sheets and find a place right on the floor where you can put them. First we put the first sheet, and then on it with an overlap of 1 profile (wave) - the second. This must be done as if they had already been installed. The sheets should fit tightly to each other, their edges should be mutually aligned. After this, we measure on the second product the distance from its freely lying edge to the side of the first one covered by it. We do this from the side, along the edges of the profile products. This will be the working width of the selected sheets.

3 How to calculate the amount of material by working width?

This can be done both along the length of the surface or its area. In the first case, you should divide the length of, for example, a fence, which should be mounted from vertically installed sheets, by the working width of the latter. If the length of the object is 50 m, and the material, as in the example above, is C10-1000-0.6, then 50/1 = 50.

You will need 50 sheets. If the result is a non-integer number, round up. In addition, in each case you should take it with a reserve, and if for a fence, then one sheet for each corner or turn. The area calculation is more complicated. It is usually performed for walls, roofing and sometimes for fences. In a word, whenever during installation there is an overlap of the corrugated sheet not only in width, but also in length.

In this case, you should first subtract from the length of the material the amount of its vertical overlap during installation. We multiply the resulting value by the working width - this will be the useful area of the sheets. We divide the area of the object covered by the material by it. The resulting value is rounded up. Then we add a little to it in reserve, if the width of the object in some place is greater than the total working number of sheets laid there, or its surface has complex geometry, etc. In each case, you need to look individually, estimating in advance where and how the material will fall.

4 Example of calculating the number of sheets by area

Let's take the same C10-1000-0.6 for installation on a wall section with an area of 83.5 m2 and a height of 3.5 m. Let's assume that the profiled sheet was purchased 1.5 m long. Overlap in height (sheet length), let's assume , should be 10 cm.

  • And now – the working area of the sheets: 1.4 * 1 = 1.4 m2.
  • We determine the useful length of the material: 1.5 – 0.1 = 1.4 m.
  • We calculate the amount of material: 83.5/1.4 = 59.64. Round up to 60.
  • Now let’s find out how much stock you need to purchase a profiled sheet. To do this, first calculate the length of the wall section: 83.5/3.5 = 23.86 m.
  • We determine how many rows the material will lie in for a given height of a section of wall of 3.5 m: 3.5/1.4 = 2.5, where 1.4 m is the useful length of our C10 products.
  • The resulting value is rounded to 3 rows. The length of each sheet is 23.86 m, and the working width of the sheets is 1 m, which means their number in one is: 23.86/1 = 23.86 pcs.
  • We round up to 24. And we determine the total required number of sheets by multiplying this value by the number of rows: 24 * 3 = 72 pieces, and at first 60 were calculated.
  • The material, approximately equal in area to 12 sheets in total, will go to waste (waste), since, laid in rows, it will be higher than the required 3.5 m.

From this example it is clearly seen that before starting the calculation required quantity sheets, it is necessary to determine the main characteristics of not only the material (working dimensions), but also the surface it covers - length and width. Then, having approximately estimated the ratio of the latter to the summarized parameters of the products used, you can choose the calculation method - by length, width, rows or area.

Having completed the calculation, you should still check using another method and, if necessary, add some more in reserve. The best way to reduce waste, first select a profiled sheet with dimensions that will allow it the best way place it on the area to be covered, and only then make calculations of the required amount of material.

Profiled sheet is a modern, beautiful, strong and durable roofing material. For accurate calculation required quantity For this coating, you need to know the length, width and thickness of the sheet. In addition, information about the weight and load on the roof is needed. This will make it possible to correctly make rafters and other roof elements, as well as select a grade of corrugated sheeting that corresponds to the operating conditions in the construction region.

Dimensions of roofing sheets

The main parameters of a profiled sheet are its length, width, thickness and profile height. All characteristics of profiled sheets are determined in GOST 24045–94.

Sheet length and width

There are total and useful lengths and widths of corrugated sheets:

  • The total length and width are the distance between the edges of the sheet. The length can vary from 3000 to 12000 mm (multiples of 250 mm), width - from 800 to 1800 mm. At the request of the customer, the length of the sheet can be made less than 3000 mm and more than 12000 mm;
  • The useful length and width of the sheet is the full size minus the overlap size. The length of the sheet is chosen so that it is equal to the length of the slope plus the size of the eaves overhang (200–400 mm). If you use shorter sheets, the material will have to be laid with an overlap, which will reduce the level of waterproofing of the roof. Thus, when the full and useful length of the corrugated sheet coincide, this is the best option. The overlap in width is usually one wave.

Sheet thickness and profile height

For roofing works corrugated sheeting with a thickness of 0.55-1.0 mm is suitable. Thinner metal will warp when exposed to snow, wind or hail. It can also be accidentally damaged during installation.

The profile height can vary from 8 to 75 mm. If a wall sheet, which, for example, can be used to build a fence, may have a profile height of 8 mm, then corrugated sheeting with a value of at least 20 mm is used to construct the roof.

The roofing corrugated sheeting has a wave height of 20 mm, and at the joint there is often a capillary groove on it to remove moisture

Types of profile and its markings

The following types of corrugated sheets are distinguished:

  • wall It is used for cladding cabins, warehouses, car washes (indicated by the letter C);
  • roofing (N or PC). Used to cover roofs;
  • universal (SN). Suitable in both cases;
  • carrier. It is used for the construction of structures operating under heavy loads, and, like roofing material, has a high profile height. Therefore, roofing corrugated sheeting with large thickness metal

Next to the letter there is usually a number indicating the height of the profile. Examples of such designations: S-18 (wall corrugated sheet with a wave height of 18 mm), N-75 (roofing material, wave height of 75 mm), NS-60 (load-bearing corrugated sheet with a wave of 60 mm).

Brief marking of the corrugated sheet contains data on its type and wave height

However, there is also more detailed marking, for example: N-57–750–0.8 AD ML-1202/ML-1203, where:

  • N - purpose of the material (roofing);
  • 57 - profile height;
  • 750 - sheet width;
  • 0.8 - its thickness;
  • the further sequence of numbers and letters indicates the type of polymer coating applied. In this case, it is double-sided spraying with different characteristics from each side. Sometimes, instead of information about the polymer coating, the length of the sheet is indicated.

When purchasing corrugated sheeting, it should be taken into account that the greater the height of the profile, the smaller the width of the sheet.

Despite the fact that in the practice of roofing work they use different materials, experts advise choosing profiled sheets NS(N)-60, N-75, NS-35. They have special stiffening ribs and are most suitable for roof protection.

The corrugated sheet can simply be galvanized or coated with a protective polymer coating. Polymer coating makes the sheet more resistant to weather conditions and increases the durability of the roof.

Calculation of the size and number of corrugated sheets for roofing

Let us remind you that the useful length of a corrugated sheet is optimal option equal to its full length. Therefore, to calculate the required number of sheets, there is no need to calculate the roof area and divide it by the sheet area. This is done much simpler: the width of the slope with a correction factor must be divided by the useful width of the metal profile sheet.

Let's calculate the number of sheets required for roofing for a regular pitched roof.

A pitched roof allows you to most simply demonstrate the algorithm for calculating the number of corrugated sheets required for a roof

For example, let’s take a roof with a roof slope width of 12 meters and calculate the required number of sheets of NS-35 grade corrugated sheets.

  1. We multiply the width of the slope by a correction factor of 1.1. This is necessary to take into account overhangs, waste and the possibility of damage to the sheets during transportation and installation. We get 12 ∙ 1.1 = 13.2 m.
  2. To determine the number of sheets, divide the resulting value by the useful width of the sheet. Since the useful width of the NS-35 sheet is 1 meter, we divide 13.2 by 1 and get 13.2. We round the result up and understand that to arrange the roof we need 14 sheets.
  3. We count the amount of corrugated sheeting in square meters. This will be useful for determining the cost of roofing material. We multiply the number of sheets by the length of the sheet (for example, 6 meters) and by the full width of the sheet (for sheet NS-35 it is 1.25 meters). We get: 14 ∙ 6 ∙ 1.25 = 105 m 2.

For gable roof A similar calculation must be carried out for each slope. If the slopes are the same, then the resulting value for one of them just needs to be multiplied by 2.

If two sheets or more are laid along the length, the calculation is made slightly differently:

  1. Calculate the roof area. The slope has the shape of a rectangle, so its area will be equal to the product of the sides: S = 12 ∙ 6 = 72 m 2 (the transverse size of the slope together with the eaves overhang is taken to be 6 m).
  2. We multiply the roof area by a correction factor of 1.1. We get S = 72 ∙ 1.1 = 79.2 m 2.
  3. Divide the resulting value by usable area leaf. Let's assume that sheets with a length of 3.5 m are used. Then the useful length will be equal to 3.25 m (we set aside 25 cm for the longitudinal overlap). We calculate the useful area as the product of this value and the useful width (1 m): S floor = 3.25 ∙ 1 = 3.25 m 2.
  4. We calculate the number of sheets, for which we divide the total roof area by the usable sheet area: N = S / S floor = 79.2 / 3.25 = 24.37. This means we will need 25 sheets of corrugated sheets measuring 3.25 x 1.25 m.

The relationship between the type of corrugated sheet, the angle of inclination of the roof and the maximum pitch of the sheathing

Profiled sheets marked “C” are cheaper than other brands. Therefore, they are often used for roofing. However, it is still better that in this case the angle of inclination of the roof is 45 o or more. With such a slope, the snow will melt quickly and water will not penetrate inside through the joints. In addition, when using sheet “C” for the roof, the sheathing must be made frequent or continuous.

Roof sheet weight

The weight of the roof is one of the most important indicators that should be taken into account when arranging it. It determines the pressure exerted by the roof on the rafters and load-bearing walls. When carrying out calculations, it is convenient to operate with the weight of one square meter material. Then, knowing the total area, you can calculate the weight of the entire coating.

To the greatest extent, the weight of the profiled sheet is determined by the following factors:

Calculation of the weight per square meter of profile sheet

The weight of a polymer-coated corrugated sheet consists of the weight of metal, zinc and polymer.

To carry out the calculation we need some initial data:

  • steel density - 7.85 t/m 3;
  • zinc density - 7.12 t/m3;
  • polymer density - 1.5 t/m3;
  • The thickness of the polymer coating is 0.05 mm (pural).

Z-1000,0208
Z-1400,0212
Z-1800,0260
Z-2000,0297
Z-2750,0405

The calculation is made according to the formula: M = t ∙ l ∙ h ∙ p, where t is the thickness of the material, l is the length, h is the width, p is the density.

For example, let’s calculate the weight of a metal sheet with an area of 1 m2 and a thickness of 0.8 mm with a galvanized coating of class Z-200 and a polymer coating made of pural:

  • the weight of a square meter of metal without galvanized coating thickness is 0.8 ∙ 1 ∙ 1 ∙ 7.85 = 6.28 kg;
  • the weight of galvanized coating class Z-200 is 0.0297 ∙ 1 ∙ 1 ∙ 7.13 = 0.21 kg;
  • the weight of the polymer coating made of pural is 0.05 ∙ 1 ∙ 1 ∙ 1.5 = 0.08 kg.

Adding up all the results, we get 6.57 kg.

In general, the weight of a square meter of corrugated roofing sheet is in the range of 5.4–12.4 kg, but most often it falls within the range of 6.0–8.0 kg.

You can compare the weight per square meter of corrugated sheeting with other roofing materials. It is almost one and a half times lighter bitumen shingles and four times lighter than slate.

Corrugated sheeting is one of the lightest roofing materials - it is almost four times lighter than slate

Weight of roofing pie covered with corrugated sheets

The approximate weight of 1 m2 of materials that make up the roofing pie is:

  • corrugated sheet - 6 kg;
  • hydro- and vapor barrier made of a polymer membrane - 1.5 kg;
  • insulation from mineral wool- 10 kg;
  • sheathing made of boards 2.5 cm thick - 15 kg.

Adding up all the given data, we get 32.5 kg. We use a correction factor of 1.1 - specific gravity roofing pie will be 35.75 kg. Of course, it may vary slightly depending on the weight of the components, but when standard thickness load-bearing walls and rafters can withstand loads of up to 250 kg/m2. Thus, with average weight values of roofing materials, we have a more than sevenfold safety margin.

Strength characteristics of corrugated roofing

The roofing material must be durable, that is, it must withstand loads under certain operating conditions without collapsing or deforming. Corrugated sheeting is much stronger than a flat sheet of metal of the same thickness. This happens due to the presence of a certain profile in this material. A profile with a higher height can withstand greater loads. For example, for wall corrugated sheet C10–1200–0.6 with a support spacing of 1 meter permissible load is 86 kg/m2, and for sheet NS44–1000–0.7 with a distance between supports of 3.5 meters - 182 kg/m2. Profiled sheet H75 makes it possible to create a gap between the supports of 5–7 meters and has no restrictions on snow load. Reducing the number of supports allows you to save material for their arrangement and lighten the rafter system. However, sheets with great height profiles are made of thicker metal, so they are heavier.

Maximum permissible loads

There are 4 options for constructing corrugated sheet supports: one-, two-, three- and four-span. The width of the support at the point of contact with the corrugated sheet must be at least 40 mm.

When constructing roofs they can be used different schemes fastening corrugated sheets with a number of fixing points from one to four

Calculation of the strength of the roofing covering and selection of the grade of corrugated sheet

The total load on the corrugated sheet consists of snow and wind pressure, as well as the weight of the decking itself.

For example, let's take the following data:

  • gable roof;
  • the angle of inclination is 35 o;
  • the size of the projection of the slope onto the horizontal surface is 6 m;
  • the weight of a square meter of corrugated sheeting is 7.4 kg (this is the indicator of sheet C21-1000-0.7). In terms of the load on the rafter system and load-bearing walls, as well as the price, it is quite suitable for us, but its strength remains to be determined;
  • construction is underway in the Moscow region.

The specific snow load is determined by special card, which is produced by the hydrometeorological center. The entire territory of our country is divided into 8 snow regions. In each of them, the standard snow load is considered the same.

The snow load map allows you to determine the snow pressure on the roof in different regions of Russia

Table: value of standard snow loads by region

The construction site is located in the third snow region. The specific snow load here is 180 kg/m2. Taking into account the type of roof and the angle of inclination, the load is calculated using the formula 180 ∙ (60 o - a)/a, where a is the angle of inclination of our roof. It turns out 180 ∙ 25/35 = 128.6 kg/m 2.

The specific wind load on the roof is determined in a similar way. For this, there is another map, which also divides the territory of Russia into 8 regions.

The snow load map allows you to determine the wind pressure on the roof in different regions of Russia

Table: value of standard wind loads by region

In terms of wind load, the Moscow region is in the first wind region, where the standard value is 32 kg/m2. Taking into account the slope of the roof, the coefficient aerodynamic drag will be equal to 0.3. Thus, the wind load on the roof in question is 32 kg/m2 ∙ 0.3 = 9.6 kg/m2.

We calculate the total load on the roof. It is equal to the sum of the weight of the materials of the roofing pie, wind and snow load: W = 7.4 + 128.6 + 9.6 = 145.6 kg/m2. From the above table of strength characteristics, you can see that for the roof in question, corrugated sheet C21-1000-0.6 with a maximum load of 195 kg/m2 is quite suitable. However, we do not recommend using corrugated sheets with the minimum permissible characteristics, but making a larger margin of safety, since there are situations when there is much more snow than usual, and winds have a force that significantly exceeds the standard values.

The method for calculating the number of sheets of corrugated sheets discussed in the article allows you to use the material economically and reduce the cost of arranging the roof. The characteristics of various brands of corrugated sheets make it possible to choose exactly what is needed for your building. Calculating the weight of the roof and its strength will make your roof reliable and safe for many years.

One of the most popular building materials is a professional sheet. It is quite practical, inexpensive, and climate resistant. It is used in both individual and industrial construction. In order to profile a steel sheet, it is subjected to the cold deformation method. Distinguish it various brands, which are mainly designated depending on its geometric dimensions.

Characteristics and appearance

It is a roofing material that must be galvanized using the cold pressing method. The initially smooth sheet takes on a wavy shape due to the impact of the press on it. As a result, stiffening ribs appear on it, which help to increase the mechanical strength and rigidity of this material. To protect the metal profile from corrosion, special paint or polymer coatings are applied to it.

The main standardization document for the material in question is GOST 24045–2010.

Let's consider what kind of corrugated sheeting there is.

Depending on the operational characteristics and scope of use, it is divided into the following categories:

In addition, corrugated sheeting is divided according to its coating into the following types:

All manufacturers take into account certain geometric parameters profiled sheet.

The standard size of the profiled sheet is: height - up to 2 m, length - 2/3/6 m.

Material marking

It reflects the geometric dimensions of a given material, as well as its type. Currently, manufacturers produce the following types: H, C, HC, MP.

The first three designations show the classification unit of the profile according to the first classification criterion: N - load-bearing, C - wall, NS - universal. MP is a metal polymer that serves as a roofing material over the attic.

The first number following the letter shows the height of the sheet (mm), the next - the thickness of the steel that serves as the basis for stamping the sheet (mm), the next - the width of the sheet (mm), the last - the maximum length (mm).

On profiled sheets with an aluminum-zinc coating, the letter designation AC is added to the marking.

There is also a profiled sheet made by cold deformation radial machine. In this case, the letter “P” is present in its brand.

The most common is P20 grade corrugated sheet. It has a working width of 1150 mm, a metal thickness of 0.4 to 0.8 mm, and a profile width of 67.5 mm. It is characterized by high anti-corrosion resistance, high mechanical strength and low weight.

The dimensions of corrugated sheeting for a fence are parameters selected from the calculation lowest consumption and maximally eliminating the possibility of the appearance of substandard strips. The dimensions of the sheet must match the expected dimensions of the fence with a small allowance for fastening. Corrugated fencing is being used more and more often, and this is understandable from the point of view of convenience, expediency and practicality.

Fence at the dacha

Such sheets have many advantages, including the simplicity and speed of production installation work, opportunity . In order to quickly and efficiently install the fence, the dimensions must be selected taking into account all the components.

The abundance of options for building materials for fences often forces developers to choose the most optimal one. This is even more so important point that the fence contains several functions at once - from a protective structure against intruders and unfriendly eyes to an aesthetic component that complements the entire structure.

Regular fence

Prices for fencing are of no small importance, especially if the site area occupies a significant area.

In elite houses, according to experts, the price of a fence sometimes corresponds to the cost of an entire floor including furniture.

Fencing options

There are approximately as many varieties of fencing made from profiled sheets as there are owners and landowners. There is always a difference - if not in the arrangement of the gate, then in the distance between, the texture that is preferred, and in many other nuances.

Options for sheets with sizes

The differences between the designs that have become the subject of preference may consist in height, and in the type of corrugated sheet, and in design, and in use certain type profile with variable coverage, size and thickness of the corrugated sheet for the fence.

This type of fencing has only a couple of disadvantages, and they all involve improper installation or improper handling. If the fastening and stiffening rib are made without following the technology, then when strong wind there is a possibility of it falling due to the windage effect. No type of fastener or size of screw can save you from this.

If the coating is damaged, the fence will inevitably begin to rust, and this can only be saved by using a special primer and multi-layer painting.

Types of sheets

The industry produces numerous types of sheets, which can be seen in abundance in the assortment of construction supermarkets, specialized markets and online stores. Conventional division according to purpose is made not only by thickness, but also by type of coating.

These two parameters, plus the quality of the metal used for manufacturing, provide grounds for applying the appropriate industrial marking:

  • wall corrugated sheet is made from thin corrugation, it is suitable for easy installation roofing and wall finishing, but only for structures that do not provide for a large load (as a rule, C8 or C20 corrugated sheets are used);
  • H marking is used to mark high-strength metal and profile heights greater than 44 mm. This is an excellent option for making fences, formwork or installing floors (H60, H75);
  • The NS metal sheet is considered universal, in which the profile height starts from 20 mm, and the quality of the raw materials used gives no reason for complaints. That's why it's used for construction. collapsible garages and hangars, construction of structures with fencing function (NS35, C44).

Types of profiled sheets

The types of metal profile fencing have approximately the same number of options as there are owners and land holdings. There is always a difference - if not in the arrangement of the gate, then in the distance between the posts, the texture that is preferred, and in many other nuances.

Construction companies constantly engaged in such work prefer to deal with more lightweight material, easily taking on the intended shapes and not requiring a particularly strong self-tapping screw. The required strength in this case is achieved by slightly reducing the distance between the pillars and reliable horizontal crossbars.

Scheme for installing a fence with brick pillars

The construction of fences is a responsible and time-consuming process, but the fence must not only be stable and reliable. A solid, high-quality fence is fashionable and beautiful. Besides, good fence not only marks the perimeter of the site, but also protects it from wind loads and prying eyes. For the construction of fences, corrugated sheeting, which is a sheet of metal with longitudinal profiling, is increasingly being chosen. In order to get a high-quality and durable fence, it is important to choose the correct dimensions of the corrugated sheet for the fence, its coating and brand; the material must be resistant to atmospheric and mechanical influences. In addition, it is very important to correctly install the corrugated board fencing.

What is a profiled sheet

Corrugated sheeting is large sheets different thicknesses, produced by the manufacturer from bent iron without heating on machines - in the cold way. On the surface of each sheet there are stiffening ribs - waves. They are obtained after rolling on equipment; their height and shape depend on the purpose and type of building material.

The corrugated sheet, manufactured according to all standards, has several layers:

    base made of low alloy steel;

    zinc layer;

    treatment with anti-corrosion compound;

    primer;

    decorative coating a colored polymer consisting of a mixture of synthetic resins and plastic.

An alternative to the polymer layer is plastisol coating. Such products are characterized by maximum resistance to external influences, but have a high cost.

The anti-corrosion resistance of the material is proportional to the size of the zinc coating layer. Zinc is applied hot or cold, application density is 100-300 g per 1 m² of steel sheet. Maximum application of a zinc layer significantly improves consumer qualities products.

Advantages and disadvantages of corrugated sheets

The main advantages of metal profile sheets for the construction of fences include:

    Affordable price. Installing a large fence will not require a lot of money.

    The leaf surface has protective coating e, which prevents corrosion and fading.

    Long lasting life time– up to 50 years.

    Leaf surface easy to clean from pollution. If damage occurs to the coating, it can be cleaned and the area coated with a new compound.

    Range The profiled sheet is wide, you can purchase products of different colors and textures.

    Metal sheets easy to combine with other materials: stone, brick, cellular polycarbonate.

    Lightweight and fast installation.

    Final high strength andreliability fencing.

The disadvantage is the impossibility of installation using welding, since the outer coating of the sheet is damaged when exposed to too high temperatures.

What brands and types of corrugated fencing exist?

Fence profiles are offered in several types and brands, which differ in composition and characteristics, as well as in price.

When installing in enclosed areas where wind load is minimal, products with maximum bending strength may not be used. In an open area, the fence forms a continuous barrier to the winds, so maximum strength is required.

The marking designation for corrugated sheets indicates the letter: C, H, HC.

    N – load-bearing material used in the creation of floors and roofs;

    C – profiled wall sheet, suitable for the construction of fences and walls of outbuildings;

    NS – universal material, which finds its application in construction of any type, including the assembly of enclosing structures.

For the installation of fences, material marked “C” is used. It is produced specifically for fences, partitions, walls and differs from “H” sheets in wave height. Large wave products can withstand maximum loads. In some cases, it is allowed to use products marked “NS”, which have a universal purpose.

Following the letters are numbers, by which the consumer can understand the height of the wave, the width of the product and its thickness. For example, if the label attached to the corrugated sheet contains the following combination “C 20-1120-0.6”, it means that the buyer has a wall sample with a section/wave height of 20 mm. The usable sheet area is 1120 mm. The thickness is only 0.6 mm.

Requirements for the quality of galvanized steel sheet products and parameters of finished products are presented in GOST 24045-2010.

To fence a large perimeter you will need more sheets with a high wave, therefore it is necessary to realistically assess the need to use reinforced corrugated sheeting. The sheets are installed with an overlap; correct calculation will allow for a minimum overlap of one wave.

What colors are corrugated fence sheets available in?

The color of the corrugated sheet does not depend on its properties. The choice is influenced only by the general architectural style courtyard and your personal preferences.

Despite a large number of The colors of the products do not differ between different corrugated sheeting manufacturers. Manufacturers use a single Ral table to designate colors. The exception is the Finnish factory Ruukki, which uses the RR color table.

The most popular shades are green, brown, rotten cherry, and light green. Modern products with Printech coating, which imitates the texture of wood, brick, and stone, are gaining popularity. Such a fence in combination with stone or brick pillars and forged inserts looks expensive and respectable.

Regardless of the chosen color, under the influence of UV rays, the surface of the corrugated sheet will fade in the sun. On the fence light color the change in shade is less noticeable.

The matte sheets used to install the fence look stylish, but require regular cleaning to remove dirt. On such products, dust and rain splashes leave marks, and dirt reduces the service life of the polymer layer. Glossy surface It retains its attractive appearance longer; dirt and moisture simply roll off.

Which protective coating of corrugated sheets is best for a fence?

The steel sheets at the base of the corrugated sheet are covered various compositions. Depends on the type and quality of the coating performance characteristics finished product. Main types protective coatings profiled sheets include four varieties.

Zinc treatment. Is the least durable inexpensive option, which is not suitable for fencing private houses, shopping centers, parks. The density of zinc application on the sheet is 275 g/m. sq., layer thickness not less than 90 microns. This material is usually used for temporary structures around construction sites and warehouses. The strength and durability of the products is good, but the appearance is unattractive, and the service life is no more than five years.

Aluzinc treatment. The composition includes 55% aluminum and 45% zinc. The coating is more durable than zinc, the color is matte silver. The appearance of the products is presentable, they can be additionally painted in any color. Such sheets are most often used for fences industrial purposes, but their maximum lifespan is ten years.

Polyester processing. The material is highly resistant to atmospheric influences, chemical inertness. The layer thickness is 20 microns, the surface can be matte or glossy. The sheets get dirty a little, polyester has a dirt-repellent effect. Dust and splashes are easily washed off with water. The range of colors of finished products is quite wide.

Treatment with plastisol or pural. The materials are characterized by maximum resistance to external influences, but finished goods With such a coating they are expensive. The thickness of the pural layer is 50 microns, plastisol is 200 microns. But taking into account the service life of the sheets is about 50 years, the cost of installing the fence is comparable to inexpensive structures.

The type of corrugated sheet coating is selected based on the required service life and financial capabilities.

Basic parameters of corrugated sheets for fencing

Installation of profiled sheets can be carried out both vertically and horizontally, the strength of the structure does not change. The main indicator that determines the reliability of a fence made of corrugated sheets is the height of the wave; at low levels, the wind load on the sheet is maximum, while a high wave allows it to withstand heavy loads. If you need a strong, stable fence, then it must be installed on a foundation.

When choosing which corrugated sheeting is best for a fence, it is worth considering that all its types are made from sheets 125 cm wide. To obtain waves, the sheets are rolled cold using special equipment, with a maximum wave height of width finished sheet minimal.

Most often, a profile for a fence is chosen with a wave height of 8, 10, 21 mm. The latter indicators will provide greater structural rigidity.

Source zen.yandex.ru

It is only important to correctly install the supports, not forgetting that a fence made of corrugated sheets differs from other types in having a very large windage. If for a picket fence or forged spans the pillars can simply be buried and reinforced with stone backfill, then under the corrugated sheeting they must be buried to a depth greater than the freezing of the soil and concreted.

One should not lose sight of the fact that a corrugated fence is a single monolithic design and damage to one part can lead to deformation of neighboring ones. When installing a fence made of corrugated board, expect that it will last for many years, so do not plant trees with a large height and trunk thickness close to it - as they grow, they can damage the corrugated sheet. It is better to plant shrubs along the fence or leave a strip of lawn about a meter wide.

How to perform material calculations

To determine the volume required material and the cost of the fence must be calculated in advance.

    The perimeter of the fence is measured. When installing gates, their width is subtracted from the total perimeter.

    The resulting value must be divided by the working width of one sheet of the selected brand. If the value is a fraction, then it must be rounded to a larger whole number.

When purchasing material, it is recommended to provide one spare sheet in case the element is damaged during installation.

If the working width is not known in advance, then measure the total width of the sheet. The resulting value is reduced by the width of two waves, taking into account overlapping installation.

How to determine the parameters of the fence

Before buying corrugated sheeting for a fence, you need to determine the dimensions of the future fence. Structurally, such a fence consists of sheathing, posts, transverse pipes and fastening elements.

Taking into account the average human height of 175-185 cm, the height of the sheet should exceed it by 15-20 cm. The minimum recommended height of the fence is 2 m. In some cases, fences of 2.5 m or 3 m are installed. Such a fence will completely hide the courtyard from prying eyes and provides maximum protection from the wind. Sheets 3 m high are usually made to order.

If the purpose of the fence is to mark the boundaries of the plot, there are no close neighbors or there is no need to fence off them with a solid fence, choose a profiled sheet with a height of 1.8 m.

Source ar.aviarydecor.com

The span width is 2.5-3 m, which allows for rational use of pillars. To calculate the number of pillars, the perimeter of the fence is divided by the width of the span. For the installation of the gate, 3 more pillars are added.

When calculating the required height of the posts, take into account the height of the fence and the fact that they go 100-150 cm deep into the ground. The height of the corrugated sheeting for the fence is determined by the operating conditions.

The number of transverse pipes used to secure the fence is calculated based on the perimeter of the fence. When installing sheets 2 m high, 2 rows of transverse pipes are required.

The amount of fasteners is calculated based on the standard of 4-8 elements per 1 m² of fence.

Quality depending on the thickness of the steel sheet at the base of the corrugated sheet

The thickness of the steel base of the product determines its strength and ability to withstand loads. If the base is less than 0.45 mm, then the fence will not withstand the wind pressure and will break through at the fastening points with self-tapping screws. Such products are not suitable for long-term use. It is very difficult to check the thickness of the base in real conditions, so responsibility for quality rests entirely with the integrity of the manufacturer.

To obtain reliable structures, it is recommended to choose a base of 0.5-1 mm. If it is possible to construct a durable frame, then use sheets with a thickness of 0.45 mm. Taking into account the deviations allowed by GOST +/- 0.6 mm, the actual thickness of the corrugated sheet for the fence can be 0.39 mm.

Source 3abor.ru

Sheets made from European material are of the best quality. Foreign manufacturers strictly maintain the regulated thickness, use high-quality coatings. Buy the most cheap material unknown origin or made in China is not recommended. Such products do not last long.

Examples beautiful fences from corrugated sheets, look at the video:

Fencing not only performs protective functions, but also fits into the architecture of the building. For maximum decorativeness of the courtyard, you need to use sheets painted on both sides. Their texture and color should be in harmony with the material from which the main structure is constructed. The coating is chosen without scratches, chips, the surface of the sheet is smooth without dents. Such products will last longer.

Source youla.ru

The parameters and thickness of the sheet are selected according to the planned load. Deviations from the basic parameters according to GOST should not be large, otherwise substandard goods will be offered. The edges of the flooring should be smooth without jagged edges.

An important point is the geometry of the waves. When placed overlapping, the sheets must completely match. If the fit is not tight, the structure will be fragile and will require additional lags, which leads to increased costs.

To increase the safety of products during transportation, choose sheets with protective film. After installation it is removed. Collateral High Quality is the presence of a manufacturer's warranty and all necessary certificates of conformity.
