Device and principle of operation

The valve inlet (see figure) is connected to the controlled section of the gas pipeline after the pressure regulator. A spool 1 is installed in the valve body, pressed against the seat by a spring 2, the force of which is regulated by moving the support washer 3 by rotating in the thread of the screw 4. When the pressure in the inlet pipe rises above the specified value, the spool rises slightly, the gas pressure begins to act on the entire end surface of the spool, which is much larger than the central part, as a result of which the static pressure increases, pushing the spool up. In addition, the inwardly chamfered surface of the valve lip deflects downwardly the gas flowing out of the seat. This deflection of the flow creates a reactive force which is added to the already increased static pressure on the spool. The balance between the spring force and the gas pressure on the spool is broken, and the spool jerkily rises to its uppermost position. When the pressure in the gas pipeline decreases, the gas pressure on the spool cannot overcome the force of the compressed spring and the spool quickly sits on the seat, hermetically shutting off the gas flow. The valve is equipped with a lever 5 for forced opening.

SPPK- relief spring safety valves are designed to protect various industrial equipment from unacceptable excess of the set pressure. SPPK They are used in industrial tanks, hot water and other boilers, technical tanks and pipelines for automatic discharge of the working medium into the atmosphere (gas, steam) or the outlet pipeline (liquid) After the pressure drops to the required limit, the safety valve stops the discharge. The calculation of the throughput is carried out in accordance with GOST 12.2.085.

Safety valves SPPK are made of steel grades 20L, 20GL, 12X18N9TL, 12X18N12M3TL with a flange connection, with a PU switching device for forced opening or without it. Safety relief valves are designed for liquid and gaseous, chemical or oil working environments, the tightness corresponds to TU 3742-004-07533604-95.
Valve closing pressure - Рз not less than 0.8 Рн.
Рн - setting pressure (the highest, excess pressure at the valve inlet, at which the specified tightness in the valve is ensured).
The full opening pressure of the valves is equal to:
- (Rn + 0.5) kgf / cm 2 - at a setting pressure of 0.5 to 3 kgf / cm 2;
- 1.15 Rn kgf / cm 2 - at a setting pressure of over 3 kgf / cm 2 up to 60 kgf / cm 2;
- 1.1 Rn kgf / cm 2 - at a setting pressure over 60 kgf / cm 2.
The setting pressure (Rust) is the preset pressure at the inlet to the relief valve, at which the valve spool starts to rise and the valve opens. The manufacturer adjusts the safety valve to the opening start pressure without back pressure at the valve outlet (the test medium is discharged to atmosphere). When ordering, it is necessary to indicate the opening start pressure (set pressure) to which the valve must be set, it is also necessary to take into account the effect of back pressure, if it is present in the system at the valve outlet.
Bellows valves are a balanced type mechanism that compensates for the back pressure effect at the valve outlet. The bellows also protects the relief valve spring from the harmful effects of the process fluid, high or low temperature of the process fluid. Bellows valves made of steel 12X18H9TL are designed for working environments with temperatures up to minus 1100C.
By steel grades, relief safety valves are manufactured in two versions:
1. body - steel 20L, spool, seat - steel 20X13 (type 17s..U1);
2. body - steel 12Х18Н9ТЛ, spool, seat - made of steel 12Х18Н9Т with overlaying ЦН-12М (type 17nzh..UHL1);
3. body - steel 20GL, spool, seat made of steel 12X18N9TL with overlaying TsN-12M (type 17ls..HL1);
4. body - steel 12Kh18N12M3TL, spool, seat - of steel 10Kh17N13M3T with TsN-12M overlay (type 28nzh..UKHL1).
The spring in all versions is made in accordance with GOST 16118-70 from steel 50HFA.

Safety spring valves SPPK4, SPPK4R the direction of the medium supply is under the spool. The force of the compressed spring presses the spool against the seat, when the pressure of the working medium exceeds the set value, an opposite force acts on the spool, which compresses the spring and opens the passage for the discharge of the working medium. After the pressure in front of the valve has decreased to the back-seating pressure, the spool is again pressed against the seat by the force of the spring, stopping the discharge of the medium.

Safety valves are designed for liquid and gaseous, chemical or oil working media. The standards of tightness in the valve are in accordance with GOST 9789-75.

Safety valves are designed to protect equipment from inadmissible excess of the set pressure. They are used in tanks, boilers, containers, vessels and pipelines for automatic discharge of the working medium into the atmosphere or in the discharge pipeline. After reducing the pressure to the desired limit, the safety valve stops the discharge of the medium. The calculation of the throughput is carried out in accordance with GOST 12.2.085.

Valves of types SPPK and SPPK4R belong to full-lift spring-loaded safety valves of two-position action of a closed type, but they work as full-lift valves only on gaseous (vaporous) media. When operating on liquid (incompressible) media, the throughput of the SPPK and SPPK4R valves is 4-8 times less than when operating on gaseous media.

Safety valves for checking serviceability and purging in working condition. The SPPK4R type valves have a special lever for manually opening a "manual firing" device. The valves of the SPPK4 type have no lever.

Description: SPPK valves have a medium flow direction - under the spool. After the pressure in front of the valve is reduced to the back-seating pressure, the spool is again pressed against the seat by the force of the spring and the discharge of the medium stops.
