Buy homemade locks with a secret for the garage. How to make a homemade padlock. Video about a homemade castle

A garage is built not only to protect the vehicle from negative impact external factors, but also in order to protect it from theft. Of course, no garage can give a complete guarantee that the iron horse is safe, so we can talk about a degree of protection that will largely depend on the strength and reliability of the garage lock.

When starting a conversation about garage locks, it should be noted that, like most devices, they can be of several types:

  • Mounted.
  • Mortise.
  • Rack and pinion.
  • Invoices.
  • Mixed devices.

One of the main criteria for the differences between these devices is how they were made, namely whether we are talking about factory products or whether they are homemade garage locks.

Advantages and disadvantages

It is impossible to say that some of the castles are definitely better, since each of them will be superior to a similar castle according to certain criteria, but in some ways inferior to the other.

Note! The question of choosing a lock is often determined by its price.

If you want to purchase a decent and reliable factory device, then you need to be prepared to pay quite a lot of money, because in this case we will no longer be talking about a simple factory stamping, but about a mechanism assembled by hand by a professional. In general, a number of common points can be identified in the differences between factory products and homemade products.

  • If you are interested in quality and reliability, then you will have to pay decent amounts in both cases.
  • In both cases, if you want to save money, you need to be prepared for losses in quality, and here we should not forget that the price for this may be the safety of the vehicle.
  • The installation of the device must be approached very responsibly, remembering the basic rule - best protection the one that is not visible.

Types and principle of operation of locks

Among the locks on the market, there are several types.

Mounted

One of the most common types of locks is a padlock. The entire mechanism of this device is hidden in a suspended housing. Locking is carried out using an arc (or pin) inserted inside. For the device to work, on locked doors it is necessary to install special eyes into which the arc is inserted and thanks to which the locking occurs. This type of technical device has one negative quality that calls into question all its advantages, namely openness. Such locks are hung from the outside, as a result of which attackers can have access to it and use a master key to open it, or simply knock down the lock. It follows that such a lock can only be used as an additional security measure, when several options are used in combination locking devices.

Rack lock

This is another common option for making locks. It is mounted already inside, and locking is carried out using several sliding rods. The lock is opened using a special key, which, passing through the well, pulls out the bolts. The design of this type of lock is somewhat more reliable, but it can be broken by sawing through the locking elements or simply picking up the key.

Mortise lock option

This type is characterized by difficulty of installation and relatively low reliability. In addition, manufacturers often unreasonably inflate prices for such products. It can also be said that the use of a lock of this type is possible only as an additional security measure.

The above locks are Garage Doors In most cases, they are factory-made, but they can also be made independently if you have certain metalworking skills. However, it is worth saying that it would be more preferable to manufacture locks and constipations of a different type.

Pinwheel

This name was popularly given to a lockable system that operates on the principle of a deadbolt. This version of the lock has a simple design and can be made by hand. The principle of operation of this device is that special eyes made of, for example, metal or wooden beams. In the center of the gate, a rotating bolt is mounted on a through bolt, which is activated by turning relative to the center. The ends of the turntable fit into the eyes, thereby reliably locking the doors from the inside. Thus, there are no elements of the lock from the outside, making it almost impossible to break into.

Espagnolette

This is another one homemade version locking the garage door. Its simplicity and at the same time reliability and efficiency allow it to be used in large quantities cases. The bolt is a metal pin that moves inside the eyes. It is usually mounted on inside garage door. This type of lock works on the principle of a valve. Almost anyone can install it, without the use of highly specialized tools.

This type of locking device can be called a type of latch, with the only difference that the latch, as a rule, moves in horizontal plane and is used for single-leaf gate designs. Constipation is for swing gates, are metal rods that move vertically inside special eyes on the gates. In order for the locking to take place, a couple of holes about half a meter deep must be made in the ground under the rods. For greater strength and reliability, metal tubes of suitable diameter can be driven inside these holes, which can be concreted.

In conclusion, it can be noted that do-it-yourself garage locks (which were listed above) are mainly used if the garage is either built into the building of the house, or is surrounded by a fence and has a second exit, because the most effective locking occurs only from the inside.

Video

This video demonstrates the design and operation of a homemade garage lock:

Homemade garage locks have a simple design and are opened with a special key. They are installed from inside the garage, which makes the devices invisible.

Such locks are made according to individual sketches of the garage owner, for which it is quite difficult to select a master key, which can be done for standard models of locks purchased in stores or markets. What types of homemade garage locks there are are discussed in this article.

Types and features of homemade garage locks

The garage is designed to protect the vehicle from harmful effects external factors and in order to protect it from theft. No garage can give a complete guarantee of car safety, but its safety largely depends on the strength and reliability of the garage door lock.

Homemade garage locks, like most devices, can be of several types.

They can be:

  • Mounted.
  • Mortise
  • Rack and pinion (see).
  • Invoices.
  • Mixed devices.

One of the main criteria that distinguishes these devices is the method of their manufacture.

They can be:

  • Factory products.
  • Homemade locks for the garage.

Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Often the choice of product is determined by its price. If you want to purchase a reliable and high-quality factory device, you will need to pay quite a lot of money.

This is due to the fact that the lock will not be a simple factory stamping, but a mechanism assembled by hand by a professional. There are a number of points that distinguish factory products from handicrafts.

The main ones are: low quality and lack of reliability of many factory designs. In any case, for good devices you will have to pay a fairly large amount.

When making a lock, due to the desire to save money, you can lose in its quality, which can affect the safety of the car.

Advice: The installation of the structure should be approached very responsibly. You need to remember the basic rule: the lock that is not visible protects better.

The principle of operation of locks depending on their type

  • Homemade garage padlock.

This is the most common type of product. The entire mechanism of such a device is located in a suspended housing.

Locking is done using an arc or pin, which is inserted inside. For the structure to work, on the locked doors it is necessary to install special eyes into which an arc is inserted, with the help of which the locking occurs.

This type technical device has one negative quality which casts doubt on him positive properties- it can be opened relatively easily. Such locks are hung from the outside, so attackers have access to it, and with the help of a master key it can be opened or simply knocked down.

Advice: This type of lock should only be used as an additional security measure when combining the use of several locking device options.

  • Homemade rack and pinion garage lock.

This is a fairly popular option for making locks. It is installed from the inside, and the locking process is carried out by several sliding rods.

The lock is opened with a special individual key, which is inserted into the hole and, when turned, pulls out the bolts. This type of device design is somewhat more reliable, but it can be hacked by sawing the locking elements or picking up the key.

  • Mortise lock.

It is quite difficult to install, and the reliability of the device is relatively low. This design can only be used as an additional measure of protection.

More simple when self-production are locks for other types of garages.

These include:

  • Homemade garage lock– pinwheel, general form it is shown in the photo.

This is the name of a lockable system that works on the principle of a deadbolt. The lock version has a fairly simple design; you can easily make it yourself.

This device works according to this principle:

  1. from the inside, special eyelets are installed on the two garage door leaves, which can be metal or made of wooden beams;
  2. in the center of the gate, a pinwheel bolt is mounted on a through bolt, driven by turning relative to the center;
  3. The ends of the turntable should fit into the eyes, and thus securely lock the doors from the inside.

In this case, there are no lock elements on the outside. This is the most reliable lock for a garage; breaking the gate becomes almost impossible.

  • Espagnolette.

This is the simplest, most reliable and effective homemade option for locking garage doors, which allows it to be used in most cases. An espagnolette is a metal pin that moves inside the eyes.

It is usually mounted on the inside of garage doors. This device operates on the principle of a valve.

  • Locks installed for swing gates.

This locking device is a type of latch, with the difference that the latch most often moves in a horizontal direction and is used with a single-leaf gate design. For swing gates, the locks consist of metal rods that move vertically inside special eyes installed on the gates.

To carry out the locking, a pair of holes about half a meter deep are made in the ground under the rods.

Tip: The strength and reliability of the structure should be increased by installing metal tubes of suitable diameter in these holes, which are then concreted.

This type of lock has a main drawback - it is locked from the inside, which requires the installation of an additional door. They can be used if the garage is built into the building of the house or in the courtyard of the estate.

How to make a simple garage lock

Instructions for making a simple rim lock with a latch, which is driven by a special individual homemade key, consists of the following:

  • Making the base of the castle. This is a metal plate approximately three millimeters thick, with a diameter of 10 millimeters.
  • Two linings are cut from the same metal:
  1. width - 22 millimeters;
  2. length – 120 millimeters.
  • The overlays are bent in a vice according to the sketches.
  • The valve is being manufactured.
  • A guide tube with an outer diameter of approximately 10 millimeters for the lock key is being prepared. Its length depends on the thickness of the gate. One end of the tube is cut at an angle of 60 degrees, as shown in Figure 4.
  • Assembly of the structure begins with welding the linings to the edges of the base

Tip: If parts are deformed after welding, they must be straightened. Minor distortions will be eliminated when installing the lock on the gate.

  • Four holes are drilled in the corners of the plate to secure the lock to the door.
  • The guide tube is inserted into the plate hole with a diameter of 10 millimeters, the bevel is inserted into the pads.
  • The tube is carefully welded to the base, while maintaining mutual perpendicularity.
  • The valve is inserted into the linings, in the middle between them.
  • Two screws with a diameter of M4 and a length of about eight millimeters are screwed into the valve. These screws are valve travel limiters; it is advisable to place spring washers under their heads.

The key is selected from a circle with a diameter of 8 millimeters, its length is 150 millimeters.

  • One end of it, approximately 25 millimeters long, is bent at an angle of 90 degrees.

  • On the other side, a cut is formed at an angle of 60 degrees.
  • A hole is drilled in the cut area.
  • The beard is made according to Figure 7.
  • The key is assembled according to Figure 8.

The secrecy of the lock is ensured by drilling key holes in the bolt below or above, the interval can be one millimeter, which will provide the lock with a large number of “secrecy” options. For these purposes, you can change size 12 according to Figure 5 within acceptable limits.

How to make a garage lock with your own hands is shown in more detail in the video. A high-quality lock in the garage is a guarantee of car security.

In this article we will talk about how to make locks for your garage or outbuildings yourself. As a rule, locks that are used in garages or outbuildings are made using simple designs. They are opened using special keys. Due to the fact that they are installed indoors, this makes them as invisible as possible. The production of such locks is carried out individually, taking into account all the wishes and capabilities of the owner.

It is quite difficult to select master keys for such locks; this is the main advantage when compared with standard models. We will look at what homemade locks are for use in garages and outbuildings, and also talk about their differences from those sold in stores and markets.

Features and types of homemade lock designs

A garage is necessary to protect a car or any other vehicle from external factors, including theft. As you understand, with the help of a garage you protect your car from the effects of precipitation and other natural phenomena. But there is no complete guarantee of the safety of your vehicle. To a large extent, the safety of the car depends on how strong and reliable the lock is.

There are several types of garage locks:

  • Mounted.
  • Mortise.
  • Invoices.
  • Rack and pinion.
  • Mixed devices.

The main criterion that distinguishes these devices from others is the manufacturing method. But there are both factory modifications and homemade ones. We will talk about the latter in as much detail as possible. After all, homemade locks for garages are increasingly being used due to the fact that they are very reliable and more difficult to open.

What to look for

If you decide to purchase a factory copy, you need to determine its quality. Very often the price speaks volumes about the quality of the product. If you want to purchase quality and reliable device, you will have to fork out and spend quite a lot of money.

The fact is that in this case the lock will not be made using stamping, as is done in most cases. It will be assembled by hand by professionals. There are several points that will help distinguish factory-assembled products from homemade products. As a rule, second-rate handicrafts are of rather low quality, hence we can talk about the low reliability of the design.

If you decide to make your own lock, you will lose in quality - this is undeniable. And this will primarily affect the safety of the vehicle. Installing a lock is a very important step and must be approached very responsibly. One point needs to be taken into account. Normal protection will be provided only by a mechanism that is not noticeable or is not visible at all.

Operating principles of padlocks

Such designs are the most common; the entire mechanism is located in a suspended housing. In homemade padlocks, locking is carried out using a pin or other similar elements. They are inserted inside the mechanism. In order for the design to work, it is necessary to install special eyes on the doors that are planned to be locked. An arc is installed in them, which, in fact, performs the locking. But this design option has one very big drawback, which completely negates all of it. positive traits.

This type of lock can be picked very easily. The fact is that such lock designs are installed with outside building. Therefore, any attacker has direct access to it. Using a master key or grinder, you can easily open such a homemade garage lock. Most often, locks of this type are used for additional protection when the combination occurs. In other words, there are several mechanisms used to lock the garage.

Homemade rack locks

Such locks are also quite popular, they have one advantage. They are mounted exclusively inside garage doors. Locking occurs using several sliding rods. The lock is opened using an individual key, which is installed in the well.

When you turn it, the latches are pulled out. The design of the lock is a little more reliable, but it can still be opened without any problems if desired. To do this, the locking elements are simply sawed off, or a key is selected.

Mortise locks

This design has several shortcomings. Firstly, it has very low reliability. Secondly, it is very difficult to install. The use of such structures is allowed only as an additional protective measure. It is very difficult to make such a structure yourself. Therefore, it is better to give preference to another mechanism for locking the doors. We will talk about them further.

Homemade designs

It is very common to find pinwheels used to lock garage doors. They work like a deadbolt. The design is simple, you can install it yourself. The operating principle is as follows:

  • Eyelets must be mounted on the inside of the gate; they can be made of either metal or wood.
  • A turntable must be installed in the center of the gate using a through bolt. It will be driven by turning relative to the central part.
  • The ends of the turntable should fit into the eyes. This is how they lock the doors as securely as possible from the inside.

There are absolutely no parts of the castle outside. It is almost impossible to hack this design, so its reliability is very high.

Espagnolette

This is the most simple design, reliable and efficient. Ideal for locking garage doors. Therefore, it can be used in most cases. But let's find out. This is a metal pin that moves inside special eyes. As a rule, it is installed on the inside of the sashes. This device functions as a valve.

Locks for swing gates

This is a type of latch, but there is a slight difference. Espagnols, as a rule, move in a horizontal plane and are usually used if the gate has one leaf. If the gate is swinging, then the elements are made of metal rods that move vertically in the eyes. These lugs are installed on the sashes. In order to lock as much as possible securely door, under with metal rods in the ground you need to make holes. They should be larger in diameter than the pins.

In order to increase the reliability and strength of the entire structure, it is necessary to install metal tubes of suitable diameter in the holes. It is advisable to concrete them after installation. But such constipation has one drawback. They can only be closed from the inside, so you will need to install an additional door. Typically, these locks are used if the garage is attached to the house or is located in the yard.

How to make your own castle

Now let's take a look simple instructions for the production of an overhead system with a valve. It must be driven using a special homemade key.

The design consists of the following elements (we will also consider their manufacture):

  1. First, the base of the castle is made. It is a metal plate; it is advisable to use it with a thickness of at least 3 mm. Plate diameter 10 mm.
  2. It is also necessary to cut two overlays from similar metal: width 22 mm and length 120 mm.
  3. Next, you need to bend these pads in a vice.
  4. After this, you need to make a valve.
  5. Making a guide tube outside diameter should be about 1 cm. The lock key should subsequently fit into it. The length of this tube depends on how thick the gate is. The edge of the tube must be cut at an angle of 60 degrees.
  6. At the first stage of assembly, it is necessary to weld the pads on the edges of the base. If elements suddenly become deformed after welding, they need to be straightened. If the curvature is small, it can be eliminated.

It is necessary to drill 4 holes in the corners of the plate, with the help of which the lock will be fixed to the sash. Install the guide tube into the plate hole. As a result, you should have a relatively cheap and simple homemade lock with a “secret”.

The bevel must be directed towards the overlays. After this, you can weld the tube to the base, but do not forget that these elements must be perpendicular. Next you need to install the linings and the valve. Two bolts with a diameter of M4 need to be screwed into the valve. The length of the bolts should be about 8 mm. These screws will limit the stroke of the valve. It is recommended to install spring washers under their heads so that they do not unscrew during operation of the lock.

Key for a lock with a "secret"

As a key, you must use a rod with round, the diameter of which is 8 mm. The length should be about 15 cm. This optimal value. As you understand, making a homemade garage lock with your own hands is half the “trouble”; you will also need to make a “tricky” key.

You need to bend one edge at a right angle, this will be the handle that you will hold when opening. On the other side you need to form a cut at an angle of about 60 degrees. It is necessary to drill a hole near this cut. Next, make a groove. After this, assemble the key for the homemade lock with your own hands.

The secrecy of this design is ensured by the fact that key holes are drilled in the valve, and there can be an interval of 1 mm and above. This will provide the lock with the greatest number of security options. Similar homemade door locks are widely used in warehouses, outbuildings and garages.

Often a purchased lock with in the usual way installation is not reliable, so many car owners try to make original model homemade lock for the garage with your own hands.

This is an easy way to ensure restful sleep, because the garage and the property inside it will be protected from intruders. This article will tell you how to make a locking mechanism yourself and what you need for this.

The issue of protecting a garage building from intruders is always acute, and especially for those people who drive a brand new car of a prestigious brand. Fraudsters are trying to get their hands on just such cars in order to resell them. A homemade lock with a secret will help to secure your motorhome from unauthorized entry.

Such products have a simple design; a special key will help you open them. Finding a master key to open a homemade locking mechanism is extremely difficult, because it is created according to an individual sketch. It is this quality that is the most important advantage of such mechanisms.

Installation homemade locks for a self-made garage, it is carried out from inside the building. For this reason, the locking mechanism is completely invisible to the eye of an outsider. Under such conditions, even an avid burglar may hesitate or even change his mind about getting inside the building, because this will require a lot of effort and time from him.

The process of making homemade locks for a garage with your own hands is worth starting if you have at hand quality materials, there is access to steel hardening, turning, milling machine. Then it’s worth designing a truly durable, reliable screw lock.

If you have a certain kind of skill, you can even create an electric lock. But if such skills are not enough, you can go another way. It is worth remaking the finished product by modernizing it in a certain way.

Modification of purchased locks

If you don’t have relevant material at hand, lathe, you can try to modify the finished locking mechanism with your own hands for the garage.

But before you start work, it’s worth understanding what types of such units exist. Let's consider the classification of products according to installation specifics, presented in the table.

View Advantages How to hack
Mounted Affordable. They are not considered overly reliable, because such a lock can be removed using a regular hacksaw. It simply cuts off the loops of the unit, which is not accompanied by noise. Units of this type can be knocked down with a sledgehammer, even with a very cunning design.
Invoices They have higher reliability. To get inside the house, you can open the lock with a master key, cut the bolt with a jigsaw in a few minutes, or simply knock down the doors.
Mortise Characterized by the most high level reliability, since after installation they become a single part of the door leaf. The units can be opened with a master key or their bolt can be cut off with a special tool.

Padlock for garage doors.

We will describe ways to refine each type:

  1. Mounted. It is optimal to supplement a gate with such a locking mechanism with another lock, made independently. A hidden electric lock will do. You can upgrade a conventional single-pin attachment by adding another pin with a custom slot arrangement.
  2. Invoices. To prevent the risk of hacking, it is worth supplementing the unit electrical diagram and servomechanism. The mechanism will only work if the key is turned inside the lock or it will open using the key fob. The system will be similar to a car alarm.
  3. Mortise. You can modify the cylinder of such a lock so that the key is unique. Then it will be difficult to find a master key for hacking. Another way to upgrade a mortise lock is to lengthen its deadbolt.

On a note! When remodeling, it is important to take into account the features specific type, so as not to break it, but to strengthen the protective qualities of the locking mechanism.

At first glance, locks created by the hands of craftsmen are sure to be of high quality. But many of them are too simple and defenseless against hackers. For example, a rack and pinion locking mechanism with a “secret” key is not really a quality product.

The highlight of the mechanism is the rotating bar on the key, the length of which is “kept secret.” Yes, the burglar does not know the length of this part, but he will be able to make a cardboard analogue of it, which he will then trim until the unit begins to crumple it. The next time the thief arrives, he will open the garage and take everything valuable from it.

Case Study

Many car owners do not understand how to make a good locking mechanism with their own hands from finished product low reliability. Let's describe practical example car protection for little money. It is suitable for a motorhome that is located close to the cottage and opens from the house.

Garage doors must only be locked from the inside. Build them one of these homemade garage security locks. The power of the bolt should be veiled, so that when a stranger looks at open door I didn’t understand exactly what element holds the gate. From the side of the water gate, it will be possible to enter the motorhome only by ramming it with a truck.

A separate door inside the house through which the car owner enters the motorhome is equipped with an internal and conventional lock. The internal one is a solenoid-type electric lock with the ability to control it from home. If the doors close with a regular lock, the solenoid lock will also close.

Homemade lock device.

Hacking a regular unit with a master key will prevent thieves from getting inside the motorhome. Before leaving the cottage, residents will open the electric lock by applying power to it, and thus unlock the gate, after which they will open a regular lock.

Electric locks on the garage should be installed so that it attracts attention to itself as little as possible. The solenoid unit is often supplied with a voltage of 24 V, a current of several amperes when activated, and an even smaller current to hold it in the open position.

It is possible to equip the electric lock with a latch with an electromagnetic control method. Or prefer an electromagnetic model with a beveled bolt, which locks the gate when closing.

To prevent a homemade garage lock with a falling bolt and key from freezing in winter, its body is heated. Wrap the unit in fiberglass, wrap it with nichrome wire, 0.3-0.5 mm thick. Select the length of the wire so that the heating of the solenoid at room temperature reaches 70 degrees.

The voltage source will be the same as for powering the solenoids. Next, cover the nichrome wire with a layer of fiberglass or a tin casing. Nichrome and copper wires They are connected by welding and carefully brought out.

On winter days, it is enough to preheat a few minutes before the gate opens for the units to work flawlessly. As a result, you will get a tricky lock, which will not be easy to eliminate.

Bottom line

Making a garage lock with your own hands will provide reliable guarantees that an attacker will bypass the motorhome. Such garage doors are much more difficult to crack, since the homemade product is unique in its parameters.

For thieves, neither a lock with a secret nor high fence not a barrier. However, sometimes homemade locks can become bigger problem than purchased factory products. In ancient times, in villages and even in cities, doors to houses were not locked. But nowadays we have to lock everything, everywhere. To protect the home, and sometimes even the garage, not only locks, but even expensive alarm systems are installed.

It would seem that there are any number of different locking devices, latches, deadbolts, and locks with many secrets on sale. Why do you need homemade locks? Firstly, it is hardly possible to find keys for such locks, because they are made in a single copy, and drawings for them cannot be found either in the literature or on the Internet. Secondly, the design and manufacture of locking devices with my own hands- a very exciting activity for many home craftsmen.

How to make it yourself? According to the masters, almost anyone can make a gate. Below is described, in their opinion, the most convenient and reliable way locking double-leaf gates.

The advantage of this rotary lock is that the gate can only be locked from the inside. On outer surface There are no keyholes, and from the inside the lock is a metal bar that rotates on a pin. This latch rises and falls into metal slots that are screwed to both garage door leaves.

This type of spinner closes and opens without special effort. Its main drawback is that the gate must have an additional door. But now it will have to be locked. If the garage is attached to a residential building and there is an entrance to it from the house, then such a lock is the most reliable and economical thing.

Locking from the inside can also be done using pins curved in an “L” shape. They rotate in a bracket welded to each edge of the door leaf - top and bottom.

For the upper locks, a stop is made in the form of a small horizontal metal plate so that the pin does not fall down under its own weight. The lower pins are simply stuck into the ground or into holes specially made in the garage floor. Such garage door locks are quite reliable and affordable to manufacture.

Homemade locks

You can make not only deadbolts, but also garage locks with your own hands. For example, a description and drawings of how to make a gate were published back in 1998 in issue No. 6 of the CAM magazine. This design is still very popular among garage owners. It will be improved and even made “coded”.

"Coding" padlock made by making notches on the key and adjusting the number of half turns to close the lock. Of course, an attacker will be able to select the code length and number of revolutions. But this operation will take too long. He probably won't want to fiddle with the lock for more than a couple of minutes.

Another type of homemade lock that is quite often used to lock garages is the screw lock. It locks the garage door using a screw located in the latch tube. The key to it must match the bolt head. The problem is that the key itself is very large, and it is very easy to pick it up using a round brass nozzle.

One craftsman came up with the idea of making a freely rotating cap for a screw. It only engages the screw when the original T-key is used. The master makes such screw locks with original keys to order, earning good money from this. Homemade electromechanical lock Garage owners do not use it as often. Although it is more reliable than all those described above.

The operating principle of such a lock is quite simple. When a door, gate or gate is closed, the locking bolt of the lock presses on the spring inside it and the tongue enters the groove of the door - the so-called counterpart of the lock. This is a purely mechanical device. The electronic part of the lock (in most cases it is a solenoid - an inductance coil) acts on the bolt, closing or opening the electrical network.

An electromechanical lock usually has electronic key in the form of a tablet or controlled remotely from a key fob. To make such a lock with your own hands, use an ordinary massive lever lock, from which the levers (plates with shaped key cutouts) are removed, leaving only the crossbars. A guide plate is attached to them. Drives for car locks are used as an electric drive for such a lock.

A device such as an electromechanical lock is quite expensive. Another disadvantage is the inability to control it if there is no electricity in the garage. In order to protect yourself from the inability to open such a lock, a car alarm connected to the car battery is used for power supply.
