The BuildCraft mod for Minecraft 1.7.10 allows you to automate the extraction and processing of resources and simplify the construction of large buildings.
Mod Features
Consider those elements of BuildCraft that are most often used in combination with other technical mods (Industrial Craft 2, Forestry, RailCraft and similar).
Pipes
The mod adds three types of pipes - special blocks with which you can move objects, blocks, liquids and energy between mechanisms and storages.
They are divided by purpose (transport, liquid and propulsion) and by type. Depending on the material that became the basis for the pipe, it can interact with neighboring blocks differently, the side of the mechanism to which the pipe is connected also matters. Different types can interconnect with each other, connect to other objects and perform other functions.
Features of the simplest, transport pipes are shown in the table:
Material | crafting recipe | Peculiarities |
Wooden | Retrieve items from storages and mechanisms that have a container. Connect only to other types of pipes. They need power from a nearby engine.
cobblestone | Cheap pipe with a rough surface for transporting objects at low speed. Does not require power supply. Not compatible with stone and quartz.
Stone | Much smoother than cobblestone, and objects in it move faster and cover greater distances. Works without power. Not compatible with cobblestone and quartz.
Iron | Passes objects in only one direction (toggled by a wrench or a redstone signal).
Golden | Gives speed to objects that hit it. The arrival of a red signal enhances this effect by 3 times. Also works better on curved sections of the pipeline.
lapis lazuli | Contains an internal filter where you can mark specific items with one of the 16 Minecraft colors or leave them unmarked. This helps distribute items passing through one pipe into several different streams.
Diamond | "Reads" what color the diamond pipe passes through it or block and directs it in the right direction.
Diamond | Sorts the objects that fall into it based on the settings of its internal filter and redirects them in the right direction.
obsidian | Picks up a drop falling directly on it, or from a 3x3 block area when fueled by the engine.
Sandstone | It connects only to similar pipes, but not to mechanisms or storages, and allows you to create a "bypass" pipeline. It can serve to connect any pipes with each other for easy transportation (cobblestone, stone, quartz).
Void | Irreversibly destroys everything that gets into it.
emerald | Retrieves from mechanisms and storages the items indicated in its settings, otherwise it is similar to the wooden one.
Quartz | The smoothest transport tube, objects in it retain inertia much longer. It does not need an engine and does not connect with cobblestone and quartz pipes. |
Engine and fluid pipes are crafted from the appropriate types of transport pipes with the addition of red dust or pipe sealant (crafted from green dye or slime):
Their functions and characteristics are similar to the properties of the pipes from which they are created.
Engines
Engines, activated by a redstone signal, power pipelines and some other mechanisms from BuildCraft and other mods. How to create them, and how they differ, you can find out from the table:
Name | Recipe | Description |
mechanical engine | An inexpensive and low-power engine that is suitable for powering wooden pipes and simple mechanisms (pump, drilling rig). Does not require fuel, does not overheat during operation, does not connect to the engine pipes.
Stirling's engine | Medium power engine. It feeds on all kinds of combustible objects. If not connected to any device, it can overheat and even explode if excess fuel is present. Cooled passively by ambient air.
Internal combustion engine | The most powerful engine available in survival mode. It works by burning liquid fuel: lava, oil, diesel fuel or biofuel from Forestry. Requires active cooling with water or other cooling agents. They need to be placed in it in inventory or served through pipes. For these purposes, the most effective refrigerant from IC2 and crushed ice from Forestry.
Engine for creative mode | Missing | Does not require fuel, runs indefinitely. The power supply is regulated by a wrench. This engine cannot be crafted, only taken from the creative inventory or given to the player by the operator's command. |
Extraction of resources and oil refining
BuildCraft greatly simplifies the extraction of resources thanks to a quarry - a mechanism that automatically digs mines.
For efficient mining of ores, an uninterrupted supply of large amounts of engine power is necessary. This problem is solved by two types of high-quality fuel - oil and products of its processing. Oil deposits are generated in new chunks in the form of fountains and lakes with black liquid:
A large deposit can have a volume of up to several thousand buckets, and it is rather problematic to scoop it out with a bucket or capsules, so it is better to use pumps. You can store the collected oil in glass tanks from BuildCraft or build a multiblock tank from RailCraft.
If possible, it is better to distill the oil into diesel fuel by feeding it to the refinery:
The cost of auxiliary mechanisms will pay off due to the higher quality of the produced fuel.
Addons
There are several addons for BuildCraft that add new devices and game mechanics:

Installation
BuildCraft will require a pre-installed . It is advisable to supplement it with compatible technical modifications, for example, or.
Tube Transport System 1.7.10- a new breakthrough in Minecraft in the field of process mechanization. The mod will add pipes through which you can transport mobs and objects to absolutely any place. If the system is set up correctly, it will become possible to transport crops, extracted substances and metals directly to a chest or other installation. With such a new device, the expenditure of effort and time will be significantly reduced.

Pipe direction variations
Description
:Transport pipes
The basis of this modification. Pneumatic pipes are capable of transporting everything, including themselves. Transport animals, villagers and monsters. It's pretty simple, something goes in one direction and out the other.
Note that when placing pipes, they will automatically orient in a direction based on the location of the first block. If you want to extend the blocks in height, it is enough to place a block in the lower part, and all the others will automatically move. To block this specificity, you need to put 4 or 9 pipes in the workbench, which will block the direction. To release the blockage, put them back into the crafting grid and go through the entire direction change cycle.
Transport station
This block is used to receive or send something. Able to pick up items and mobs from chests or farms standing nearby. Automation for sorting received items will allow you not to waste your time sorting.
Tubes Mod for Minecraft 1.6.2 and 1.6.4 adds many types of pipes to the game that can be used for different purposes.
The main features of the mod:
- Items in pipes move along the shortest path to the nearest chest and cannot accidentally fall out of it;
- Pipes can be painted in different colors. To do this, you need to use dyes. Pipes of different colors will not connect to each other. The color can be removed using any water tank (bucket, bottle);
- Filters use a "copy" of the item, so you don't waste them to customize how the filters work. Pressing the left button decreases the quantity, pressing the right button increases it. When SHIFT is pressed, the quantity changes by 10 units;
To start making pipes, you will need plastic. The easiest way to get it is as follows:
First combine sand, clay and coal as shown in the picture above to get pellets;
Melt the pellets to get plastic sheets
Finally combine 2 plastic sheets and glass as shown above to get 8 pipes
If you want to get more plastic granules, you can use another method:
Melt the bucket of milk to get cottage cheese;
Combine Curd with Coal, Gunpowder and Bucket of Water to get 8 Plastic Granules.
When using the BuildCraft mod, you can get liquid plastic from fuel using a refinery. You get 1 bucket of liquid plastic from 1 bucket of fuel.
Combine a bucket of liquid plastic with coal to get 8 plastic pellets.
For details on the operation of all elements, see video review
Recipes
1. Limiter
Adds 5000 to path length. Can be dyed.
Designed to force the movement of objects
Can precisely control which elements will pass through it and which won't.
4. Compressor (seal)
Designed to group items passing through it. Very handy for compensating for lag when moving.
The purpose is clear based on the name of the element
6. Request pipe
Designed to move the desired object to the desired pipe (it is possible to set various settings, such as the color of the pipe, the element to be moved, etc.)
7. Router
This element will allow you to select the element's destination. If there are two or more identical settings, the item will move along the shortest path.
8. Plastic block
Decorative block made of plastic
9. Redstone scheme
Used to set the filter.
How to install Tubes Mod:
- Download and install;
- Download mod;
- Copy the downloaded JAR file to C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Minecraft\Mods folder. If such a folder does not exist, you need to create it;
