Review of the Beeline security system “House under supervision. Remote GSM MMS Camera Youthnet V900-B2 Component Specifications

Today, even a user who has no knowledge is able to get everything he wants. A modern megaphone is simply installed, configured, and controlled by commands over the phone.

Features of video surveillance using Megafon

Today there are three Megafon cameras on the market with different capabilities. They change a little usual order organization of video surveillance systems.

A short list of features can be described as follows:

  1. the camera is primarily designed to work in a 3G network; other data transmission channels are not provided;
  2. after installation, the GSM video surveillance camera megaphone can be controlled by commands sent to its SIM card number;
  3. Video storage is available on a memory card or branded Megafon;
  4. Camera pictures are sent when a motion detector is triggered or upon direct request, by command to a mobile number.

Another feature that megaphone video surveillance offers is direct access to broadcast audio.

To listen to what is happening in the room, just call the camera number.

As additional security measures, certain device models are equipped with a so-called panic button (including on the remote control).

When pressed, the CCTV camera megaphone is able to dial the configured number and organize wiretapping of the controlled area.

One of the models, V900, has an alarm button directly on the body, which expands the alarm capabilities and greatly increases the level of security.

Organization of video surveillance by Megafon operator

The company declares that Megafon video surveillance via the Internet can be organized not only with the help of special brand cameras.

The device can be a regular IP camera. This greatly expands available options for users.

To use the video surveillance option from the operator, you need to activate it for the tariff plan you are using.

You can connect to the megafon 3G video surveillance system:

  • regular, free-standing;
  • several cameras connected to a single router;
  • a camera capable of working over a 3G network.

Certain models of devices offered on the market provide the ability to connect external unit 3G GSM connection.

In this case, video surveillance via a megaphone modem will offer all the possibilities that are interesting to the user.

The mechanics that Internet video surveillance megaphone uses are quite simple.

The user has several options for transmitting data:

  1. The camera, upon request that comes to its SIM card, sends an image via MMS.
  2. You can take photographs in a series of up to 8 images, according to the configured resolutions and MMS message capabilities.
  3. Images are sent via MMS to the owner’s configured phone when an event is activated by a motion sensor.
  4. Separate, state-of-the-art Megafon cameras are capable of shooting streaming video. Archive data is recorded on a memory card installed in the device or Megafon’s proprietary cloud service.
  5. Access to the video archive or pictures taken by the camera is carried out through the proprietary Megafon service; a regular browser is enough to work.

To fully use the security functions, including the emergency panic button, the user does not have to purchase storage services. All you need is a phone and camera settings in the options of the Video Surveillance service from Megafon.

Supported Cameras

It is impossible to clearly identify the types and formats of cameras that can be connected to the Megafon video surveillance service.

Little is required from the device: to have its own IP for access or to be equipped with a communication unit (external or internal) in which the operator’s SIM card is installed. This is the data you will need to specify when setting up the corresponding services.

Based on the operator’s requirements, you can even connect DVRs to the system that form a single stream from several transmitted by separate cameras. However, you will need to fine-tune the resolution and bitrate to transmit video over 3G channels.

The most top scores observed if you connect cameras offered by Megafon to the system.

Here, all the features of the transmission channel are immediately taken into account, as well as the basic configuration of capabilities, covering a huge audience of consumers.

Today Megafon Internet video surveillance is offered in the form of ready-made sets of cameras different classes and mobile operator packages.

3. Connection to power supply

4 Camera installation

The camera can be hung vertically on the wall with screws

or placed horizontally in a suitable location.

Selection of installation location:

·For best image quality, avoid contact with bright light directly onto the camera lens. We suggest positioning the camera so that the monitored location is within a camera viewing angle of less than 30°.

·To prevent theft, we suggest placing the camera more than 2.2 meters above the base (ground).

·Network signal strength affects image quality, listening volume and MMS message transmission speed, so the camera should be located in a place where there is a strong network signal

·To check the image quality, after installing the camera, try taking several pictures and sending them to your mobile phone. Move the remote camera and adjust its viewing angle to get the best image.

Chapter 4. Quick start

Inexpensive complex designed for additional protection residential, office or production premises. Positioned as the optimal combination affordable price and functionality.

It should be noted right away that the “House under supervision” kit in no way claims to be professional and “self-sufficient” security system. There are also no automated active countermeasures provided. On the corporate market the kit will be sold under the name “Video Control”, for private clients - “House under supervision”. The names themselves already speak about the purpose and capabilities of the system: to notify the “owner” of the premises about the occurrence of an event, provide him with audio/video information about what is happening and, possibly, attract the attention of people who find themselves near the protected premises.

Professional security and video monitoring systems work more efficiently, but they also cost an order of magnitude and a half more. “A house under supervision” can be considered a reasonable compromise: the kit itself costs 7,000 rubles, and the subscription fee for a special tariff is 300 rubles. per month. While kits are purchased and distributed as part of a pilot project, sales experience should determine the market need for such a product.

Background

Below are a few slides from the presentation. To the product itself direct relation they don’t, but they help to understand the logic of an operator who has taken on an uncharacteristic (as it may seem) business.

The area of interaction between M2M (Machine-to-Machine) devices is one of the most promising and fastest growing. New subscribers are born and grow up much more slowly than equipment and devices appear that need to transmit the collected information. Sometimes such devices materialize in series of many thousands at once, as was the case, for example, with the equipment of electric meters with devices for reading and transmitting information about electricity consumption.

Organizing data transfer “over the air” is a rational and beneficial solution for the customer. Sometimes the solution is the only possible one (for example, transport monitoring). The operator is also not at a loss: the “mechanical subscriber” generates a small but stable income, does not create problems and does not waste the expensive time of contact center employees on finding out the fate of the next three rubles “missing” from the balance. At the same time, SMS exchange and/or insignificant (as a rule) GPRS traffic almost does not consume network resources, this is another plus.

If previously the operator played the role of a “pipe” for data transmission, then after the launch of a multifunctional SIM card management center in 2010, Beeline strives to develop full-featured turnkey solutions.

The first significant project in this area is considered comprehensive solution“Automonitoring”, which allows you to track the location and many parameters of a car throughout Russia.

We can say that Beeline has “gone to the people” and intends to actively develop “boxed” products for small businesses and private users. The current "House of Care" was developed within the framework of this strategy.

Will this one “shoot”? specific project? Hard to say. But the direction as a whole is correct and promising. Although, in terms of financial return, it is much more labor-intensive than large-scale M2M projects with large corporations.

"Video control" and "House under supervision"

Beeline produced a press release for this that was surprisingly high-quality in terms of information content. The essence of the proposal, functionality and main numbers were contained in just a couple of paragraphs. I am happy to quote:

“...a comprehensive M2M solution “Video control” consists of a set of sensors (motion, door opening, smoke, notification button and light and sound indicator), which are combined with a central control module - an MMS camera, a special tariff plan, and a WEB interface for configuration and system management. When any of the sensors is triggered, the system will send an alert to the user’s mobile phone in the form of an SMS message, as well as an MMS message with a photo of the client’s office taken at the time the sensor was triggered. If necessary, the client can make a call to the MMS camera from his phone and hear what is happening in the room where it is installed.

Together with the new M2M solution for the corporate market, Beeline is launching as a “pilot” project a similar product “Home under supervision” for mass market subscribers. As part of the Video Control solution, customers will be able to create a set of sensors on their own, purchasing them separately. The cost varies from 390 to 890 rubles per sensor, and the MMS camera costs 4,490 rubles. How it works

The “control center” of the system is the GSM MMS V900 B1 MMS camera. The camera has been on the market for two years now, but the software is of this device was redesigned specifically for the tasks of the security complex.

The sensors are constantly connected to the camera via a radio channel, and when any of them is triggered, the camera sends an SMS and MMS message with a photo of the scene of the event to the owner’s phone. Sensors can be purchased separately; the camera supports simultaneous work with a maximum of 15 devices.

The camera has its own built-in motion sensor, it also works and is involved in the system. There is a light sensor and 8 infrared LEDs that turn on automatically when you need to take a photo in the dark. True, the real range of the backlight is two to three meters, up to five meters with light walls and light furniture.

The camera has its own built-in battery, the declared resource when the external power is turned off is about a day in stand-by mode. All sensors and the light and sound warning unit (siren) are equipped with autonomous power supply (batteries) with a service life of about 1 year.

When any of the sensors is triggered, the system sends SMS and MMS messages and can simultaneously activate a light and sound siren. Photos from the scene of the incident can be viewed via the Web interface. You can also call the MMS camera and listen to what is happening in the room through the microphone built into the camera. Detailed technical characteristics of the components are below, at the end of the text.

Control

The control unit, sorry for the tautology, can be controlled by sending SMS messages to the camera or via the Web interface. I remember that when I tested this camera a year and a half or two ago, I spent half a day just trying to deal with SMS control commands, of which there are a great many “good and different”. Therefore, the Web interface is a great blessing and an act of humanism. Everything is conveniently configured, the parameters for triggering alerts, the format of sent MMS, etc. are immediately visible on the computer screen. Naturally, access to the Internet is required to view and manage. If you really need it, some settings can be made via SMS commands; the changed parameters are synchronized with the Web control window.
