How to make your own table lamp. How to make a floor lamp with your own hands from scrap materials. Ceramic vases, flower pots

Lighting is the most important component of the interior. The coziness and comfort level of our home depends on the lighting. The play of light and shadow allows you to play up the winning moments of the interior and divert attention from unfortunate moments. And also - lamps, floor lamps, chandeliers and lamps create the atmosphere that we call "home". Unique lamps and the best way is to make a lampshade with your own hands to make your home only "your", personal, individual. Homemade shades and lampshades are the strong point that will make your home stand out from others.

A few words about safety

In the manufacture of lamps, floor lamps and chandeliers in industrial conditions, a preliminary calculation is made of the minimum distance from the "body" of the lamp to the materials. This distance depends on the power and thermal radiation of the lamp and on the type (combustibility) of the material from which the shade / lampshade is made. At home, hardly anyone will bother with such calculations. And in order not to create a dangerous situation, it is worth adhering to certain rules.

And in general, having made a lampshade and installing it, in the first few days, pay attention to whether the lamp shade is warming up. Any rise in temperature above ambient is considered heat. If the shade feels "warm", change the bulb to a less powerful one. Check again. So until the homemade lampshade is warm.

Where to get the frame

If you want to remake an old lamp, floor lamp, sconces whose old lampshade has become unusable, you can simply use the existing base, peeling off the old material. Before starting work, inspect the frame well, if there is rust or damaged coating somewhere, maybe it is worth peeling and painting everything again? At the same time, the color can be changed. If you don't have the old frames, you can buy an inexpensive lamp (at a store or at a flea market) and do the same thing with it. Quite good lampshades can, by the way, be made from waste baskets. They are wire, there are plastic. The main thing is to find the right one in shape and size. Then in the bottom you make a hole for the cartridge. Further - it's up to the decoration / cladding, and then there are a lot of options.

If this method is not available, you can make a lampshade without a frame (there are some) or make a frame yourself. The material for making a frame for a lampshade with your own hands is: wire, wood (wooden or bamboo sticks, specially cut elements), plastic bottles.

How to make a wire frame for a homemade lampshade

The wire for the lamp frame needs aluminum or steel. It is easy to work with aluminum, but it wrinkles easily. This is not very important when the lampshade is already in use, but this fact must be taken into account during operation: you can ruin the shape. On the other hand, such plasticity makes it easy and simple to make changes to the shape during operation. So it's not a bad option. Aluminum wire can be obtained from electrical cables. You will have to remove the protective shell and you can use it.

Steel wire is more elastic so that it retains its shape well. You can search for it in the construction market. Working with her is more difficult. It is desirable to have strong male hands nearby.

In addition to the wire, you will need powerful wire cutters and pliers for work. The frame of a lampshade usually consists of two rings and posts connecting them. The shape of the future lampshade depends on the size of the rings and the shape of the racks. Questions may arise about the number of racks and how they are attached. The number of posts depends on the size of the rings and how “round” you want the lampshade. The more racks there are, the smoother the fabric will be. So it's up to you, but the optimal distance between the posts along the lower circle is about 5-6 cm.

Techniques for creating a frame for a wire lampshade

How you attach the stack to the rings of your lampshade depends on the thickness and type of wire and the tools you have. The easiest way is to make a small hook at the end, then clamp it tightly. And so that the ring does not slide left and right, first sand the wire at the attachment point with coarse-grain sandpaper. This is an option for thick aluminum wires. If the wire is steel, with a diameter of 1.2-2 mm or more, the best way is. The thinner wire can be bent and wrapped around the ring, or you can also make a hook.

If you make hooks, wrap the wire, the appearance is far from being as ideal as that of factory frames. But this imperfection will be covered by the lampshade itself. If you still care about it, find a ribbon of a suitable color (usually matched to the color of the lampshade) and carefully wrap the resulting frame. It will get much better. The tape can be coated with PVA glue and, wet, tightly, turn by turn, wrap the frame.

Wire mesh

If you can find a thin wire mesh, you can quickly make an almost perfect cylindrical shade for a floor lamp, table lamp, night light, candle shade, etc. All you need is to cut off a piece of mesh of the required length and width, roll it into a ring and fasten the wires by wrapping them around the racks.

To prevent the mesh from straightening when cutting a piece, cut so that there are long loose ends on both sides. They will be used to fasten the cylindrical shade. And the imperfection of the upper and lower rings can be masked with a tape of the desired color.

From a five liter plastic bottle

An interesting shape of a lampshade can be obtained from a large-capacity plastic bottle. There are bottles of 5-6 liters and even 10. So they can be used. Cut off the top or bottom from the container - depending on what you like best. In the cut off part, we make a ring for the cartridge. If the top is cut off, the neck can be used for some cartridges. For those with a larger diameter, it will have to be cut off.

Then we cut out the excess plastic, form the rims and stands of the plafond. In order not to be mistaken, you can first draw all the lines with a marker. It will be easier to cut. Everything is elementary. Then we just decorate. And yes, it is imperative to cut out the plastic, otherwise the warm air will have nowhere to go.

We make lampshades on the frame

There are enough options for how you can make a lampshade cover:

From ribbons

The easiest and quickest way to convert an old lamp shade to a floor lamp or table lamp is to use ribbons. You need a frame or a lampshade in the form of a cylinder. It can be “naked” or covered in fabric. If you use a bare wire frame, light will filter through the slits, which will create interesting lighting effects, but the lighting will be uneven. It is inconvenient to read in this light - this is an interior solution. If you need even lighting, wrap the fabric over the frame first. It can be the same color as the ribbons, a couple of tones darker or lighter, it can be contrasting. It all depends on your desire. And remember that the darker the fabric, the less light the lampshade lets through.

We take a tape 1-2.5 cm wide. We fix it from the seamy side of the lampshade using PVA glue, additionally fixing it with a pin. If we took a wire frame without fabric, we attach it to the upper or lower rim (you can sew it with your hands, you can use glue). Then we begin to wrap the entire frame, from top to bottom, placing the turns of the tape close to each other, but without overlap.

Having completed the circle, unfold the tape 90 °. We fix it in this position (with a needle and thread or PVA glue, glue from a pistol, temporarily fixing it with a pin, pressing it with a clothespin). Then we pass the tape under the first tape, take it out, put it on top of the second one, then pull it down again, pull it up through one tape. So, gradually, we create a weave, filling the entire lampshade.

Alternatively, you can skip two vertical belts. But then you need to make sure that each next row is shifted by one crossbar. Then you get a different type of weave. Such a lampshade is ideal for floor lamps, as it will direct the light downward, and the dispersion through the walls will be small.

In this version, the ribbons can be the same, they can be of the same color, but of different textures, they can differ by a couple of tones or be contrasting. The tapes can be run in a continuous circle around the circle, or after a certain distance. If you find a wide tape and overlap it, then you won't need horizontal ones at all. And if you use a braided or twisted cord (in the lower photo on the right), we get a completely different lampshade. So only this technique of finishing the lampshade gives a lot of options.

Let's briefly present the ideas. There are many options for how you can customize standard lampshade frames. The first method has already been announced: you can knit a lamp shade cover on knitting needles or crochet. Several options in the photo.

Not everyone knows how to knit. It's easier to work with beads, especially if you glue them. You can decorate old fabric with beads, sequins, beads of different shapes and sizes. You can make such a "new-old" lampshade with your own hands in a couple of hours. Pick up jewelry that matches the color, coat the fabric with PVA glue, glue the jewelry. To complete the look, you can assemble pendants from beads and beads that are attached to the lower rim, but this is already painstaking work. The effect is interesting though.

You can sew a new fabric lampshade. But it is not necessary to make it an updated copy of the old one. Fantasy should be included! If the lamp or floor lamp is in the girls' room, a new lamp shade cover can be made in the form of a skirt. You choose the style of the skirt yourself. They look interesting in the fold. With and without ruffles.

An old geographic map can be used in the boy's room. They are on thick paper. If the paper is not thick enough, you first need to glue the card onto the cardboard, and then glue the lampshade from such a blank.

Original shades are obtained if the finished frame is braided with threads or ropes. The ropes can be natural. In this case, they are gray, brown beige. Thin synthetic colored cords can be found. They will make products more "fun" in color. The situation is even simpler with knitting threads. They are thin, thick, textured, with a smoothly changing color. In general, there are a lot of options.

We take the frame and weave it according to a certain pattern. You can start with the racks. Braid each rack with a pigtail (the length of the threads should be 3 times the height of the rack). When this work is over, we begin to stretch the threads / ropes between the posts. They will need to be passed through the pigtails, so with threads it is more convenient to do this with a needle, and the ropes can be inserted like that.

The second option is to first entangle the entire frame horizontally, and then braid the racks. The pigtail will not work here, you just need to fix the turns on the rack with inclined stitches with a certain inclination. This version is somewhat simpler in execution, but the "pigtails" look more decorative.

Homemade shades without a frame

Many materials are tough enough to hold their shape on their own and, at the same time, they are flexible enough to make something interesting out of them. Well, there are a lot of such homemade lampshades. And almost all of them are worth your attention. We will give here only a part, the other part will go in the section with photos (see below).

From knitted lace napkins

Many people have crocheted napkins and they lie in the "stash boxes", as it is a pity to throw it away, and do not know how to use it. There is a very interesting idea - to make a lampshade for a chandelier on a suspension out of them. In addition to napkins, you will need a large balloon or an inflatable ball, glue for heavy wallpaper (vinyl, silkscreen, etc.), a brush.

Soak the glue according to the instructions, wait until it swells. We inflate the ball or take the ball, hang it up. When the glue is ready, lay out a napkin on some clean surface, coat it with glue, put it on a ball.

It is necessary to spread it on such a condition that a hole for the cartridge remains in the center. Glue the napkins one by one. They should be laid out so that the edges overlap a little. When all the napkins are laid, we coat them with glue again and leave to dry. When the glue is dry, blow off the ball or ball (the ball can be punctured, if not sorry) and take it out through the hole. That's all, the lace lampshade is ready.

In some cases, problems arise with how to hang the finished lampshade on the cartridge. The problem is solved simply - take a transparent plastic bottle, cut off its neck, if necessary, expand the hole to the desired size (so that it fits tightly on the cartridge), then cut off the plastic so that you get a ring 5-7 cm wide.You coat this ring with PVA glue , and from the inside of the ball you glue it to the lampshade.

Round shades made of threads

Practically the same technology can be used to make round and semicircular stylish shades. Choose a thread of a suitable color. Their composition is absolutely unimportant - the color, thickness and texture are important. They can be shaggy, smooth, twisted, thinner and thicker. The appearance depends on it. It is most convenient to work with medium-thick cotton threads. They absorb glue well and then, after drying, keep their shape perfectly.

You will also need a ball or a ball. This will be the base of the lampshade that defines the shape. The dimensions of the base are selected at will. The threads will need to be glued, for this you need PVA glue. It is poured into a container, diluted with water in a 1: 1 ratio.

Other glue can also be used. It is important that it becomes transparent after drying. These are WB-29 from TYTAN Professional and D2 glue for carpentry work. If you will be using any of these types of adhesives, read the instructions.

Draw a circle on the ball or ball, which will be slightly smaller in size than the lamp holder. Draw a larger circle on the opposite side - this will be the lower edge of the plafond. Now everything is ready, we can proceed.

We coat the threads with glue and wind them around the ball in a chaotic manner. It is more convenient to do this if the glue is poured into the container - you can lower the entire skein there, and just slowly pull the thread. With glue in a tube, everything is not so comfortable: you have to coat areas up to a meter long, wind it up, smear it again. Time takes much longer. This is if you use non-PVA. But on the other hand, the products turn out to be more rigid and do not sag, do not change shape over time, as can happen with filament lampshades on PVA.

When winding threads on a ball, we carefully go around the drawn circles. If you accidentally climbed into the "forbidden territory", we simply move the threads, forming an even (more or less even) edge. When the threads run out or you decide that there is enough density, the process can be stopped. We thread the edge of the thread between others. Everything. Then we coat the ball with wound threads again with glue (PVA can be poured) and leave to dry (at least 2 days). To prevent the ball from rolling, we find a bowl or saucepan and use it as a stand.

The last step is to blow off the ball or ball. If the ball has a nipple, press on it with a thin wire, releasing air. We take out the deflated ball. That's all, you can thread the lamp inside and test the lampshade.

The technology is the same, but the look is very different ...

Using the technology described above, it is possible to make not only round shades. Rectangular, triangular, trapezoidal. Choose a base that is easy to remove, wind the threads dipped in glue, braid, even sticks, newspaper tubes, etc. After drying, remove the base and now, you have made a lampshade with your own hands. A couple of examples in the photo below.

You can also use sticks…. Only wrap the ball with cling film and use transparent carpentry instead of PVA glue.

Transforming your interior with custom-made lighting fixtures is both exciting and rewarding. A small luminous detail of the living space invariably attracts attention and the whole life of the house is concentrated around it in the evening and at night.

How to get started

They draw up a step-by-step plan, a sketch of the future device, purchase materials for the installation of electrics and decor, prepare tools and a workplace. They carefully study all the points related to safety precautions during the work and operation of the lamp in everyday life.

Unnecessary things that have already been used in the household can become a necessary help for a conceived electrical appliance and with their help you can not only save money, but also give them a second life in designer lamps.

Instructions on how to make a lamp with your own hands

Loft-style lamps (the simplest designs) are gaining more and more popularity and are well suited to many types of interiors. Factory made fixtures in this style cost a lot. But a person with assembly skills can easily assemble from scratch a 220-volt table lamp with their own hands, combining metal and wood, which is not inferior to them.

For the stand, select a board that is suitable in size, at least 5 cm thick. They are processed in an effort to preserve the natural texture of the tree - they are sanded, covered with wood stain.

To attach the legs in the board, make a hole with a drill (19 mm in diameter) half the thickness and screw the adapter into it. A hole is drilled perpendicularly and an electrical wire is pulled. On the other hand, connect the switch and the plug.

To assemble the lamp, they purchase a copper pipe (12 mm), fittings, a lamp holder, a lamp, a can of copper paint, and super glue. Of the tools, a pipe cutter, pliers, screwdrivers are used.

The pipe is cut into pieces - 50.60, 150, 350 mm. A wire is pulled through the longest section and connected to an adater on a stand. Passing a cord through each segment, connect the remaining parts with fittings in the form of the letter "G". For a more stable structure, parts are glued.

The cartridge, previously painted with paint, is disassembled and the insulation is cleaned. Connect ground and phase. An ordinary 220 V light bulb is screwed in. In stores there is a large selection of retro lamps: Edison and LED, suitable in style, but with modern characteristics.

With your own hands, you can assemble a table lamp from LEDs. Their use significantly saves energy, and the appearance and nature of the lighting look modern and stylish on the table.

What is a dimmer for?

In the loft style, free hanging light bulbs are welcome - both on tables and on walls and even in chandeliers. Depending on the situation, it is appropriate to change their brightness using a dimmer, a device that changes electrical power.

The dimmer changes the interior lighting in a wide range and acts as a switch. There are many types on sale. But if desired, every master can try himself in delicate painstaking work and make a dimmer for a table lamp and other lighting fixtures with his own hands.

Parts (triac, dinistor, diode, non-polar capacitor, constant and variable resistors, LED for the indicator) can be purchased at any specialized store. Installation diagrams and algorithms are available on the websites.

How to make a base from a bottle

An interesting option for warping a lamp is a glass bottle. Holes are drilled at the bottom and in the lid with a drill. They are connected to a metal support, laid horizontally, using nuts and washers. An electrical cord is threaded through the holes and brought to the neck of the bottle, connected to the cartridge.

The made cover and cartridge are securely fixed at the top of the bottle neck. The glass can be painted or decorated using the jute filigree technique.

There is another option. If the neck of the bottle is wide and a cartridge is placed in it, then the wire is led out through it and there is no laborious glass drilling operations.

Frames and their decor

The frames are made of various materials - metal, wood, plastic. To make a metal frame for the lamp with your own hands, take a hard wire.

With the help of pliers, bending the wire and strengthening it, they create the intended shape. Wrap with cloth, paper, jute. If there is a ready-made metal frame, use it. They change shape with a simple twist.

A metal mesh reinforced around the frame will give additional impetus to the development of creative thought. The mesh is attached to the frame with plastic clothespins and decorated with volumetric elements, for example, plastic clasps.

Jute or decorative rope is passed in longitudinal and transverse stripes so that a braid is obtained, or they are wrapped around the plafond. If necessary, paint with acrylic paints.

An original and effective way to decorate the lampshade is to use the keys to beer cans. You need to accumulate a lot of them. A cut is made in each key, then folded in half to hang it over the top wire ring. Thus, the first row is obtained. For the two keys of the upper row, the key of the lower row is hooked, etc.

A simple frame is covered with a beautiful fabric suitable for the interior, glued with silicone glue. Corrugated decorative paper looks good. Used plastic bottles and spoons, beads. Fans of patchwork and decoupage open up the horizons of the practical application of these techniques. The photo shows do-it-yourself lamps.

In addition to the standard socket and bulb lighting, a light, sticky LED strip with a 12V constant voltage source is attached to the inside of any lampshade.

What to make a chandelier and how to hang it

You can use junk and specially purchased chandelier materials. It is easy to make plafonds out of them with your own hands, and if you follow the correct connection technique and all sequential steps, it is safe.

The fabrication of frame shades and their decor are discussed above. Let's add that chandeliers made of wood, plastic and cut glass bottles, CDs, tin cans look very impressive.

The chandelier must be hung on a separate rod. Rigid and flexible hangers, special cables provide reliable fastening to the ceiling of even the lightest chandelier.

Disassemble the cartridge, pull the cable, make a loop under the cover and put on a lock washer to prevent accidental pulling out of the cartridge. They are selected and screwed with their own hands into the finished led or Edison lamp holder. Glob lamps with a matte shank and shank work well for bright, but not eye-catching lighting.

By combining various decor techniques and assembly techniques, understanding electrical engineering, you can create amazing and functional lamps that emphasize the style of the interior.

DIY lamps photo

If you want an ordinary metropolitan apartment to resemble a place of outwardly unique beauty, then in order to achieve this, you can use one of the most popular methods today.

Some invite designers home, and someone just takes the initiative in their own hands and is looking for how to make a lamp with their own hands, in order to quickly and easily transform the space in the apartment at their discretion.

Of course, in order to get started, in any case, you will need a certain amount of various improvised material, as well as certain knowledge in the assembly and subsequent installation of electrical appliances.

If you have never encountered the latter before, then you should not get upset right away, since absolutely all the rules can be found in the public domain on the Internet and there is nothing complicated about them.

Basic principles of correct lighting in a room

The use of absolutely any lighting device must first of all meet the main principle - to ensure accurate access of light in a predetermined space.

Where and how the light source will be located will in the future necessarily have an impact on the overall picture of the perception of the interior of the room.

Moreover, if you look at the photo of the lamp, the following goals become obvious:

  • To achieve the maximum working atmosphere;
  • Create an interesting decorative effect for relaxation;
  • Focus on a specific part of the room;
  • Illuminate locally the space necessary, for example, exclusively for personal needs.

Thanks to the installation of a table lamp, it is quite easy to achieve high-quality lighting access in a specific place.

What colors will be fashionable this season?

Of course, the lampshade for the lamp plays a special role in the external transformation of the room. So, for example, if the design of the room was originally made exclusively in dark shades, then in order to revive the general appearance of the room a little, you can, for example, make the table lamp bright green.

Another interesting way to give a room originality is to paint the simplest plafond with interesting lines and even geometric patterns.

Most designers advise using this option if the room was originally made in warm enough colors. It is worth noting that this option is not advised to be used in children's rooms, since lighting in any tone will be more familiar to them.

Speaking of exclusively neutral color solutions, they especially highlight the various monochrome shades, as well as the aqua, gold, shades of pink that are popular this season. Any of these colors can cheer you up in just a few minutes.

Procedure for creating a lamp

Despite the fact that many are sure that it is extremely difficult to make a lamp with their own hands, in fact, only a few simple elements are needed to work, which can be purchased in almost any store and, in general, the creation of a lamp does not differ in difficult moments in work.

The first thing to do is be sure to make a detailed plan for yourself. This is necessary in order to have a clear idea of how much material will be spent in the future for the installation of an electrician.

In addition, it is necessary to make measurements in the room, namely to find out what is the distance from the location of the device to the point where it can be connected to the network in the future. It will also have an impact on how much money you have to spend.

It is also important to take special care that the assembly and subsequent installation process is completely safe.

If you assume that the work in any case will necessarily relate to direct contact with various chemicals, then it is worth preparing an apron, gloves with glasses, as well as a forced draft.

Note!

Safety measures are definitely not something to be neglected, because when creating a lamp with your own hands, the process should give you extremely pleasant emotions.

DIY lamp photo

Note!

Note!

As you know, a hand-made thing can become a worthy decoration for any interior. Moreover, the more such designer and cozy items, the more interesting and colorful the space looks. For each room of your house or apartment, you can create tabletops that will be an excellent decoration. Moreover, for this, you can use the materials at hand and very often those that are initially difficult to imagine as this functional and necessary device.

Where to begin?

Of course, first you need to think over the design, but we will return to this issue a little later. In the meantime, let's decide how to make a table lamp from what we have at hand. We will use the following elements and devices:

The base for the lamp (this can be a piece of plywood or a DVD);

Frame from an old lampshade;

A pipe (it can be anything);

Various adhesives;

A piece of cable;

Decorations for the base;

Switch, plug, cartridge;

The material from which we will prepare the lampshade;

Spray paint.

Table lamp circuit

A classic table lamp consists of several parts. Firstly, it is a base, a column and. In this capacity, it is quite possible to use a glass shade or a lampshade, for example, made of fabric. We have a switch that is located on the power cord or on the base itself, sometimes it is mounted on a base. Depending on the purpose of the luminaire, it can have a different design:

  1. A classic lamp used to illuminate the workplace. The diffuser here is a glass shade or a textile shade.
  2. The device is clamped to the table. The column of such a lamp is flexible, that is, you can tilt it as you like. The plafond is an opaque bell that focuses light in one direction. An ordinary or LED is used as a light source.
  3. A dimmer lamp is the ability to adjust the brightness of the light source.

We bring ideas to life

So, we have prepared the details from which the simplest are made with our own hands. Now we take the glue, base and tube and glue them together, for example, using paper or old newspaper. Yes, do not forget to make a hole in the base - the cord will then come out through it. We let the structures dry, after which we begin to decorate our pipe.

For this we use anything: beads, buttons, beads, bows, figures from kinder surprises and much, much more. Thanks to such original and at the same time simple decorations, your lamp will look very unusual, which means it will be able to transform the interior. The very last task is to paint the lamp. It is best to choose formulations in which there will be no toxins, as well as those that dry quickly. After the device is dry, you can start making a lampshade.

Lamp from an old vase - fresh ideas

To create with your own hands, it is not at all necessary to look for some design ideas or strive for an effect. You just need to take an old vase and make a lighting fixture based on it. So you will immediately kill two birds with one stone: on the one hand, give new life to an old thing, and on the other, decorate your house with something unusual.

So, we need the following components of the future device: an old vase, an old lamp holder with a holder or a holder, for example, made of cork. A piece of polystyrene, into which the reinforcement is inserted, is quite suitable as a basis. It must be thoroughly poured with epoxy resin, not forgetting to observe safety rules, since this composition emits harmful substances. A structure is created from the prepared materials, which is inserted into an old vase. Now it's just a small matter - to make a lampshade.

Lampshade - the crown of business

Probably, the basis for creating a lamp can be anything you like. But with the help of a lampshade, you can change the appearance of the lighting fixture at least every day. In addition, this element is created easily and simply, and again from the materials at hand. Design can be done in a variety of styles, but it is important that do-it-yourself table lamps harmonize with the surrounding space. Which way to create a lampshade to choose?

Firstly, the best option is to make a shade from the same wallpaper that the room is pasted over. To do this, we take the wallpaper and cut off a strip of it with a width slightly larger than the width of the lampshade. Then you need to carefully glue it to the lampshade, while it is important not to break it or wrinkle it. We give time to dry, after which you can safely put the product on the lamp.

Secondly, the fabric lampshade is popular. It is very simple to make it, and, if you want, you can always remove it and replace it with another variety. Such a lampshade is created according to the same scheme as shown above.

All the best for children

As you already understood, in order to create a table lamp, it is not at all necessary to be a generator of ideas and thoughts. It's enough just to show your imagination. Modern children's table lamps are distinguished by their bright design, but you can slightly change their appearance and make them more interesting. For example, those who know how to handle fabric can make an original patchwork lampshade. In addition, this technique can be implemented in a slightly different way, for example, make the base for the lamp from children's toys - cubes, a puzzle, or decorate the lampshade with toys from kinder surprises.

For a girly version, you can use more romantic designs and decorative elements. For example, a lampshade richly decorated with satin ribbons, bows, beautiful buttons or an interesting appliqué will definitely appeal to cheerful women of fashion.

Original designs

Now let's take a look at how unusual a table lamp can be. With your own hands (the photo confirms this), you can make it very, very catchy, effective and memorable. For example, if you have an old globe, then it is quite possible to adapt it to the original shape of the lamp. By the way, you can safely give this one to inveterate travelers - they will definitely appreciate it.

But the needlewomen probably store a huge number of balls of threads of various colors. You can knit a beautiful and bright cover and put it on the lampshade. Or you can simply complement the fabric dome with original connected ornaments. Such a lamp will add coziness to the room and create a pleasant atmosphere for your pastime.

Many will laugh, but for the sake of originality, you can use almost everything. Let's say plastic dishes in the form of forks, cups, spoons, and umbrella sticks for cocktails. To create a custom lampshade, we need a balloon, on which we will glue all this plastic and cheap stuff with the help of glue. By the way, if you wish, you can paint it with acrylics - so your lamp will shine with new colors and will look very original!

What's the bottom line?

Thus, there are a lot of ideas for creating a table lamp at home. Choose the method that suits you best in terms of style and design. After all, fresh ideas in the interior is the easiest way to update it. And this method is also beneficial, since you can create original lighting fixtures from what is in your pantry.

Decorating a house on your own is a favorite pastime of many hostesses, this article reveals how to make a lamp with your own hands. You can revive the interior of a living room, bedroom or hallway with the help of improvised means, only by changing the shade of a chandelier, floor lamp or table lamp. Hand-made lampshades for lamps can be used not only in a residential interior, but also in the halls of cafes, pubs, and pizzerias.

The choice of materials and lamps for the lamp

Products made for children's rooms should be made of natural non-toxic materials and painted with ecological paints.

When manufacturing, you should also remember about fire safety, therefore, lampshades made of flammable materials made of paper, plastic, feathers or threads should only be used with lamps that have a low heating temperature.

You need to use LED or fluorescent lamps. They have several advantages:

  • long service life;
  • minimum heating of the base from the glass part;
  • light has three shades: warm, cold, neutral.

In addition, such lamps are also called energy-saving; their only drawback is their high cost.

What can you make a plafond from?

Many craftsmen make lamps from completely unnecessary materials:

  • from plastic or glass bottles;
  • newspapers, tissue or colored paper;
  • artificial or natural threads;
  • dried branches of an unusual shape;
  • disposable spoons;
  • old disks.

Plastic lamp

From plastic containers of different sizes, a homemade chandelier is easily obtained.

  1. For the base, you need to take a 5 liter bottle. The bottom is cut off from it. Then circles with a diameter of 1.5 cm are drawn on the surface. They need to be cut out with an assembly knife or small scissors.
  2. The bottom of the bottles for decoration is cut off and the entire surface is cut with scissors into strips 0.5 - 1 cm wide, then the workpiece is heated over the lighted burner. Under the influence of heat, the stripes will acquire a chaotic appearance.
  3. Then workpieces are inserted into a 5-liter container with holes, and lids are screwed on the inside. Then a wire is threaded through a large neck and a plafond is installed. For such a shade, you need to use an energy-saving lamp.
  4. In some interiors, you can find a fancy lamp made on the basis of an ordinary hanger or a straw hat. In general, nothing can limit the scope of imagination of both home craftsmen and professional designers.

A very interesting version of a homemade chandelier is obtained from glass bottles. They are used to decorate the halls of catering establishments. It is also a good option for a kitchen in a residential building or apartment. This can be a shade, consisting of one or several bottles, from which the bottom is cut off. You can do this yourself, but it is better to use the services of a workshop where glass and mirrors are cut.

How to use threads

For a lampshade made of threads or ribbons, you will need: a ready-made frame made of strong wire, threads of different colors, scissors, glue.

  1. The frame consists of two rings connected by metal segments. You can make it yourself from strong wire.
  2. One color or several shades of thread are required.
  3. A thread is fixed on the lower part, then it must be pulled through the upper ring, lowered down and thrown over the lower ring. It is necessary to ensure that the thread is taut and the turns fit snugly against each other. As soon as the thread ends, you need to attach the next piece to the bottom ring.
  4. Carefully cut off the remaining threads and glue them on the back.

Lamp spoons

You can make a multi-tiered, colored lamp from ordinary disposable spoons.

  1. It is necessary to make a frame of wire, for a small round lamp you need to make three circles with a diameter: 12, 18, 26 cm. Then the circles are fastened together with a fishing line. The top will be the largest diameter, there should be the same distance between them.
  2. In spoons, make a small hole with a thick needle at the top of the handle.
  3. Spoons are painted with acrylic paints in three colors, for example, yellow, orange, red.
  4. Assembling a homemade chandelier: the line is cut to a length equal to the distance between the circles. A spoon is tied to one end of the fishing line, and the other to the frame. You need to tie yellow spoons to the lower circle of small diameter, orange to the middle one and red to the upper one.

Light and graceful shade

For a paper shade, paper or thin cardboard is suitable. Such a shade can be either rectangular or square. First, you need to think about the size of the plafond, the larger the room, the wider the structure can be. The frame can be made of wire, it will consist of an upper and a lower part, consider making a shade in the shape of a cylinder.

They are connected to each other using a fishing line, the distance between the lower and upper frame is 12 - 15 cm, the hoops are fastened with a fishing line in three, four places. The larger the base diameter, the more connecting elements need to be made.
  2. On a paper blank, you can draw circles of different diameters, figures of cartoon characters. Outline drawings can be taken from the Internet and printed, then redrawn using a carbon copy. A special ruler is suitable for drawing circles, or you can outline caps or buttons of different diameters. Some drawings are cut completely with a clerical knife, some are cut along the contour.
  3. The paper is tried on on the base and glued with an overlap. Then they are glued to the wire, it can also be fixed with a thin wire. To do this, first, a hole is made in the paper with a thick needle or an awl, then a wire is threaded and carefully tied to the frame. It is advisable to glue thin paper, as it is easy to spoil it.

Exclusive shade made of metal cans

  1. Basins of any metal are used, an interesting option will be obtained from copper or aluminum containers. An old used basin will do as well. If there is a through hole in it, it must be welded or sealed, for example, with epoxy.

  3. The outer surface can be painted in a dark, rich color that is in harmony with the interior.
  4. A fringe about 5 centimeters long is glued to the lower part of the rim with hot glue. In the central part of the basin, you need to make a hole for the wire. It can be drilled with a drill or pierced with a nail.

Such a shade can be decorated with CD mosaics. To do this, the discs are cut with sharp scissors into small fragments, which are glued to the outer surface of the pelvis. You can only glue the bottom outline, and paint the rest. Or decorate the entire surface of the plafond with such a mosaic. The more convex the surface, the finer the disc fragments should be.

Natural materials

An original lamp can be made from a dry branch of an unusual shape. It must be cleaned of bark and covered with a stain, then, if desired, treated with transparent varnish. The branch must be attached to a hook on the ceiling using a regular line. Then I wind the wire with the lamp around the branch several times. A branch entwined with several wires looks beautiful.
