Until I installed the Chinese firmware and set the correct region (Other), the smartphone application did not allow me to connect. Now in one Mi account I see only a router, in another - all other gadgets.

But my router is released only for the Chinese market, so the full range of functions is only available when connected to Chinese servers. Or a slow VPN (can you imagine driving home traffic through an external server), or putting up with broken DLNA and not connecting smart home gadgets.

The former is solved by another NAS or third party OpenWRT firmware. But a "smart home" from Xiaomi components can no longer be built.

Flash can not be used as is

An unlocked bootloader causes bank apps and Google Pay to crash. The only salvation is crutch custom firmware.

However, the long-awaited Mi 8 and gaming Black Shark never received an official international version of the firmware. Fans are waiting, setting up customizations, tormenting themselves with the settings.
