The functioning of high-precision equipment using pneumatic energy as a drive depends on the quality of the energy carrier, its purity and the absence of moisture in its composition. Otherwise, the pneumatic tool quickly fails, and the pipeline of the transport pneumatic network itself undergoes a corrosion process under the influence of moisture and oil impurities contained in the energy flow.

The efficiency of high-precision technological systems and equipment can be ensured through the use of main filters FM 60/25 of the Bezhetsk plant ASO. Stationary units are capable of processing about 1500 liters of air mixture per minute. In this case, the indicators of the working pressure of the flow should not exceed 25 atmospheres.

Filter elements provide purification of compressed air and gas mixtures from solid particles up to 1 micron in size and from water-oil derivatives contained in the air during its compression and condensing during cooling.

Purpose and design features

The spread of the movement to replace electric tools with pneumatic counterparts has led to an increase in demand for compressor units. In the conditions of the impossibility of cooperation with foreign manufacturers, the sales volumes of Bezhetsk pneumatic stations, in the design of which there are no main filters, increased. But the plant produces these devices that can be installed in close proximity to the consumer of pneumatic energy, which will eliminate the likelihood of moisture condensation when passing through the pipeline.

Using air mass from the atmosphere as a raw material, the compressor does not always give a stream with high purity at the outlet. This is especially true for regions with a high dusty background, a long rainy season and heavy fogs. High energy carrier standards set by consumers in the form of auto-pneumatics and high-precision pneumatic stations are achieved by filtering the pneumatic flow between the energy producer and the points of consumption.

The filter module is designed for fine cleaning of an air or gas mixture, carried out in two stages:

  • at the first stage, the pneumatic flow is fed into the first modular cylinder through the side nozzle, a rough cleaning of solid particles is carried out, and large drops of water and oil are separated and removed;
  • to pass the second stage of filtration, the pneumatic flow passes through the sleeve connecting the modules to the second cylinder of the main filter. Here, aerosol-type oil impurities are separated and water vapor, which has not yet reached the condensation stage, also remains on the filter element.

If the concentration of oil in the compressed air obtained at the outlet does not meet the requirements (up to 0.1 mg per cubic meter), then it is better to install an additional filter and continue the oil separation process.

It is advisable to use main filters in enterprises where:

  • a complex system of centralized supply of pneumatic energy;
  • high-precision and high-tech equipment is used;
  • equipment for processing materials with small errors is produced;
  • pneumatic stations are used that do not have main-type filter elements in the design.

The processed stream according to the degree of entry of polluting constituents can belong to the 10-14 class. A higher class of concentration of pollutants is a reason to choose filters with a more serious multi-stage cleaning process. The proposed FM model belongs to the first class in terms of the degree of purification from solid impurities, and the result of the elimination of water and oil derivatives makes it possible to classify the equipment as the second class in terms of purification from water-oil impurities.

At temperatures not lower than +40 degrees, the filter effectively copes with oil suspensions, even aerosol-type impurities will be separated and removed from the pneumatic system using condensate drain fittings located at the bottom of each of the modules.

The filter element consists of a fibrous polymer cloth, and for separation, a drainage mesh is mainly used, through which the accumulated liquid flows down to the lower part of the filter unit.

The proposed model is convenient in that only the filter element of the first block is clogged, since it is in contact with the solid components of the compressed air. The filter element in the second block is practically not clogged, since it only works with liquid impurities. The liquid is collected at the bottom of the filter blocks and drained through the condensate drain fittings. If this is not done in time, the filter cloth will get wet and the efficiency of the module will decrease.

Recommendations for creating conditions for effective filter operation

Made in accordance with the UHL 4.2 climatic operating standards system, the device is mounted in a closed workshop type room. It is located between the source and the consumer of the pneumatic resource.

To prevent overcooling or overheating of the main filter, leading to a decrease in the efficiency of the filter elements, it is necessary to take care of the temperature background in the room within the range from +5 to +40 degrees.

When a pneumatic flow is supplied to the inlet valve of the first block, the temperature of the energy carrier should not go beyond the range of + 2 ... + 50 degrees. Higher parameters indicate the advisability of installing cooling equipment in the gap between the pneumatic unit and the filter.

Maintenance and repair

Fuel oil filters FM type are designed for coarse and fine cleaning of high-viscosity fuel oils from solid residues of oil fractions and mechanical impurities. Fuel oil filters are installed in the fuel oil preparation system at thermal power plants.

FM fuel oil filter device

The fuel oil filter is a vertical pressure vessel.
The filter housing consists of a shell made of pipes with a diameter of 325, 426, 630, 820 mm (corresponding to the capacity of the apparatus) and welded to it in the upper part of the flange and in the lower part - an elliptical bottom.

For coarse filters, a mesh No. 3.5-1.0H is used in accordance with GOST 3826-82, which has about 5 holes per 1 cm 2.

For fine filters, a mesh No. 1.2-0.4N is used in accordance with GOST 3826-82, which has about 40 holes per 1 cm 2.

The filter element is mounted on the support ring of the housing. In the upper part, the filter element is bolted to the brackets.

An air valve is installed on the upper part of the cover, which consists of a flange and an elliptical bottom.

Fuel oil is fed through the upper inlet nozzle, passing through the mesh, it is cleaned of solid components and exits through the lower nozzle of the body.

Fuel oil filters must be transported assembled by rail, road, river and sea transport in accordance with the "Rules for the carriage of goods in force for the respective mode of transport."

The FM fuel oil filter is a vertical-type mesh filter operating under
pressure up to 4.0 MPa. The filter consists of a vertically located housing, in the upper part of which there is a removable elliptical flange cover for access to the internal elements, during maintenance of the FM fuel oil filter, a sleeve Ø 15 mm for an air valve is also installed in the cover. The housing contains the fuel oil supply and output branch pipes and the condensate outlet branch pipe. In the lower part, an elliptical plug with a pipe for emptying the FM filter housing and a purge steam inlet pipe, supports for installing an FM fuel oil filter with holes for attaching the filter to the floor with anchor bolts is welded.
In the FM fuel oil filter housing there is a removable filter element consisting of a frame with a 12X18H9T stainless steel mesh stretched over it in accordance with GOST 3826-82, the ends of which are sewn together with a wire and fastened by soldering. The filter mesh element is mounted on a support ring and bolted to the upper part of the housing to the brackets.

Heavy oil filters FM are designed for highly efficient cleaning of high-viscosity fuel oils from solid residues of oil fractions and mechanical impurities.

Fuel oil filters are installed in the fuel oil preparation system at power plants, in boiler houses and other production circuits.

The filters are a vertical welded cylindrical vessel with an elliptical bottom bottom.
The supports have holes for foundation bolts.
The body is equipped with branch pipes with flanges for supplying and removing fuel oil, steam supply for blowing, and draining fuel oil.
Inside the body, between the cover and the support ring, a filter element is bolted, with the help of which the process of filtering the fuel oil itself takes place. The filter element is located inside the housing and is a metal frame with a stainless steel mesh stretched over it.
Cleaning of the filter element is carried out periodically on a stopped filter with steam, and the retained fractions are removed through a special nozzle without the need to disassemble the filter and filter element.
Fuel oil filters are not subject to the jurisdiction of the Gosgortekhnadzor bodies.
