Buderus Logatrend VK-profil, radiators with bottom connection

Buderus VK-profil radiators, connected to the heating system from below, have a built-in thermal valve, which is included in the delivery package.

Radiators with bottom connection Logatrend VK-profil are divided into five main types according to depth (the distance between the front and back wall radiator): type 10 (depth - 65 mm), type 11 (depth - 65 mm), type 21 (66 mm), type 22 (100 mm), type 33 (depth - 155 mm).

For each of these types, the height of the device can be 300 mm, 400, 500, 600 and 900 mm. Lengths - 400 mm, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000 mm, 1200, 1400, 1600, 1800, 2000, 2300, 2600 and 3000 mm.

As a standard, radiators are supplied painted White color(RAL 9016).

All types of Logatrend bottom-connected radiators do not have welded mounting brackets, so they can be mounted on either side. In this case, the lower connection node will be either on the right or on the left. The radiator has a built-in thermal valve, a sealed plug and a built-in air outlet plug (Maevsky valve). The lower connection unit has a center-to-center distance of 50 mm. The supply line is connected to the pipe located closer to the center of the device, the return line to the outer pipe. The built-in thermal valve is located at the top on the same side where the bottom connection to the heating occurs.

Logatrend VK-profil radiators can be mounted on the wall or floor using special mounting brackets. The mounting kit is not included in the price of the Logatrend radiator and must be purchased separately.

The radiators are packaged in shrink film and have protective corners to prevent damage during transportation, storage or installation. To prevent contamination of the radiator during construction and finishing work, you can leave the film on the operating radiator, but as long as the temperature in the heating system does not exceed 60°C.

How are panel radiators installed?

Today there are several basic connection schemes, two of them are used for side-connected batteries and one is used for bottom-connected batteries.
Therefore, when calling a heating equipment installer, be sure to tell them how the heating system is designed or how you plan to install it.

  1. Lateral diagonal connection allows for maximum heat transfer, which is why for many it is the most preferable. Using this option involves connecting the supply pipe to the upper radiator pipe, and the outlet pipe to the lower pipe on the opposite side of the device. In this case heating devices give maximum of their power. The technique is great for long radiators and promotes uniform heating.
  2. One-sided (lateral) connection is most often used in high-rise buildings. This technology involves connecting the supply and return on one side, the supply pipe is connected to the upper pipe, the return is connected to the lower connection hole on the same side. The efficiency of this method is high, but slightly lower than when using the previous method.
  3. Bottom connection of radiators is very popular today. This method is used when laying pipelines in floors. The heat transfer of devices when using this method is also slightly lower than when using a diagonal circuit.

The choice of battery connection diagram depends on many factors, determine the most suitable option from the point of view of the technical and engineering features of the premises, only a professional can do this. The master will make not only technical calculations, but also a design for the future heating system.

Buderus Logatrend panel radiators are used in single-pipe and two-pipe systems.

  • Logatrend K-profil are available with side connections, the devices have 4 pipes (2 on top on both sides, two on bottom on both sides, diameter internal thread 1⁄2" holes). Models do not have mounting brackets, so the side does not matter during installation. Heating devices can be installed on the wall or on the floor; for the first option you will need a classic installation kit, and for the second you need a special stand bracket.
  • Logatrend VK-profil are available with a bottom connection and two pipes and external thread 3⁄4 in. Radiators of this series come without mounting brackets, so during installation they can be turned to either side; the connection node, depending on the selected side, will be located either on the right or on the left side. The connection pipe for the inlet pipe is located closer to the center, for the outlet pipe closer to outer corner. The devices can be mounted on the floor, or they can be installed on the floor using special brackets.

The devices have the ability to adjust the heating intensity; for this, electronic and mechanical devices are used - thermal heads. Professional craftsmen will select equipment, pipes and components, install heating systems and carry out all necessary work related to the installation of heating equipment.

Do-it-yourself radiator installation: the main mistakes homeowners make

Almost 90% of homeowners’ complaints about poor heating have the same reason - not correct installation batteries Installing and connecting heating equipment is a simple process that requires consistency and compliance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

The most popular mistakes:

  1. Installing the device below the required level. Such an error leads to a significant reduction in heat transfer.
  2. Installing appliances higher than they should reduce the flow of warm air.
  3. Using racks for floor mounting made by other manufacturers and not suitable in size. It is recommended to use components from the same manufacturer as the radiators themselves.
  4. Not horizontal installation devices.

If you plan to install the radiator yourself, carefully read the manufacturer’s recommendations for installing and connecting devices.
Experts recommend not to take risks in this case and if you have even the slightest doubt, use the services of a professional installer who will complete all the work from start to finish and provide a guarantee.

  • We decided to clearly show how to properly install a heating radiator in a room. To hang a radiator, you need to have the wall at the place where the radiator is attached “to zero”. For finishing(painting or wallpapering behind the radiator) the radiator can be removed, it is important that the radiator mounts remain in place and are not moved. Installation is carried out at a slight inclination to avoid air accumulation.

A good example heating radiator installation

For example, we chose a steel panel radiator from Buderus, Germany. This model has a bottom connection and a built-in thermostatic valve. The “Buderus” radiator has a very high-quality packaging made of durable plastic; protective corners (blue) are placed on the corners of the radiator.

    Connecting the pipes

Now you can connect the pipes from the collector to the radiator. But we suggest first installing a certain unit, the so-called “multiflex”, which has locking inserts, fittings for adjusting and draining the coolant, and can swap the direct and return lines (depending on the model).

Also, multiflex can be straight (pipes from the floor) and angular (pipes come from the wall). This material shows a direct multipleflex, but in our work we often install corner options.

    Installation of fasteners

The mount is screwed on. Moreover, in standard situations, the fastening is fixed using one self-tapping screw that comes complete with the fastening.

It is worth noting that for Buderus radiators there are several models of mounts, which are ordered separately depending on the selected radiator model and the type of surface on which it is intended to be installed.

Some models of Buderus radiators have a special feature: they are double-sided. That is, they can be hung multiflex to the right, or to the left. Just need to take it off top cover and flip the “tongues” to the opposite side.

High quality workmanship: In the production of Buderus radiators, roller resistance high-frequency welding is used. Crimping pressure – 13 bar, working pressure – 8.7 bar.

Energy efficiency: save up to 5% energy thanks to the special integrated Danfoss thermostatic valve (exclusively developed for BOSCH THERMOTECHNIK).

Hygienic design and safety edges: radiators can be installed in medical and children's institutions. Buderus Logatrend Profil radiators of types 10, 20 and 30 can be used in rooms with increased requirements for cleanliness, since there are no convection plates, which makes it very easy to disinfect the surface of the radiator.

A wide range allows you to choose the required thermal power radiators corresponding to the coolant temperature, including quite low ones (50–60 °C).

    Range

    • length from 400 to 2000 mm
    • height from 300 to 900 mm
    • radiators of types 10, 20, 30 can be installed in rooms with increased requirements for cleanliness, since there are no convection plates, which makes it easy to disinfect the internal surfaces of the radiator

    Equipment

    • adapters for mounting brackets - 2 pcs. (for radiators longer than 1.6 m - 3 pcs.)
    • brass plug 1/2" - 1 pc.
    • air release valve 1/2" - 1 pc.
    • Danfoss thermostatic valve - 1 pc. (delivered fully open)

    Painting and packaging

    • 4 stages of anti-corrosion treatment - deep degreasing, phosphating, priming, hot powder spraying)
    • Radiator packaging is made from recycled, pure polyethylene

Like all the company's products, Logatrend is different high quality, reliability and a very reasonable price. It is important to note that production steel radiators is not carried out using point connection technology, but uses a fundamentally different method - high-frequency roller contact welding. The main difference between these two technologies used in the production of radiators is that in the first case the result is a connection that does not have sufficient strength, since it is performed in several places at a certain interval, and in the second case the result is different, and this is continuous and reliable seam.

Reliability and durability of radiators is ensured by powder coating in an electrostatic field and drying in a chamber at a temperature of 180 °C. A mandatory stage of production is the preliminary application of a protective primer layer using electrophoresis. The manufacturer checks the quality of its products during pressure testing, which is carried out in the factory at a pressure of 13 atm.

Buderus Logatrend steel panel radiators can be installed in residential, public, industrial and other buildings, but it must be taken into account that they are intended for use in closed systems heating, the operating pressure in which does not exceed 10 atm., and the temperature does not exceed 120 C. Compliance with these simple conditions operation guarantees a fairly long service life of heating devices for 25 years or more. It is also important to note the high efficiency of radiators, which, with minimal coolant consumption, provide high heat transfer.

The special BMSplus system (Buderus-Montage-System) also deserves attention, for quick installation. Sliding brackets have been specially developed for it, allowing, if necessary, adjustment of the position of an already fixed radiator a few centimeters to the left or right. In addition, the use of BMSplus installation technology allows installation work without removing the radiator from the packaging, which reliably protects it from contamination or damage during subsequent construction and repair work.
