1. Scope of GOST 30493-96
This standard applies to sanitary ceramic (porcelain, semi-porcelain and faience) washbasins, washbasin pedestals, toilet bowls, flush cisterns, bidets, urinals and establishes their types and main dimensions.
Sanitary ceramic products are intended for installation in sanitary facilities, in domestic and other premises of buildings for various purposes, in sanitary units of river and sea vessels and railway cars.
The requirements of section 3 are mandatory, the rest are recommended, and can be specified by agreement between the manufacturer and the consumer (customer).

3. Types and main dimensions
3.1 Ceramic sanitary products (wash basins, toilet bowls, flush tanks, bidets, urinals) are made of the following types in accordance with the requirements of this standard according to approved working drawings.
Elements of the main products are given in Appendix A.
3.2 The form of products is not regulated by this standard.
3.3 Washbasins
3.3.1 Types of washbasins
Washbasins are produced in the following types:
- semicircular, oval, rectangular, trapezoidal with or without a back;
- corner with or without backrest and with or without overflow, with a cut corner;
- surgical and hairdressing without a back.
3.3.2 The main dimensions of semicircular, oval, rectangular and trapezoidal washbasins are shown in Figure 1.
3.3.3 The main dimensions of corner, surgical and hairdressing washbasins are given in Table 2 and in Figures 2, 3.
3.3.4 Semicircular, oval, rectangular and trapezoidal washbasins are made with or without holes in the shelves for installing mixing fittings, which must be indicated in the consumer's order.
The dimensions of the holes, their location and number, depending on the type of mixing fittings, must correspond to those indicated in Figure 5.
3.3.5 Corner and surgical washbasins are made without holes in the shelf. The dimensions of the hole in the shelf of the hairdresser's washbasin for the faucet are shown in Figure 3.
3.3.6 The dimensions of the hole in the bowl of the washbasin for installing the outlet must correspond to those indicated in Figure 6.
3.3.7 The configuration of the upper surface of the ceramic pedestal must correspond to the configuration of the lower surface of the bowl of the washbasin for which the pedestal is intended (Figure 4).
3.4 Toilets
3.4.1 Types of toilets
Toilets produce the following types:
- a bowl-type toilet bowl with an oblique outlet with a one-piece molded shelf;
— bowl bowl with direct release with integrally molded shelf;
- a bowl-shaped toilet bowl with an oblique outlet without a one-piece cast shelf, including for children;
- a bowl-type toilet bowl with a direct outlet without a one-piece molded shelf, including for children;
- a visor toilet bowl with an oblique outlet with a one-piece molded shelf;
- a visor toilet bowl with an oblique outlet without a one-piece molded shelf;
- a funnel-shaped toilet bowl with a direct outlet with a one-piece molded shelf;
- a funnel-shaped toilet bowl with an oblique outlet with a one-piece molded shelf;
- a funnel-shaped toilet bowl with a direct outlet without a one-piece molded shelf;
- a funnel-shaped toilet bowl with an oblique outlet without a one-piece molded shelf.
3.4.2 The main dimensions of the toilets are shown in Figures 7, 8 and Table 3.

3.4.3 Toilets installed in the sanitary facilities of railway cars are shown in Figure 9.
3.4.4 For fixing toilet bowls must have holes:
- in toilet bowls installed in sanitary facilities of household premises - two or four holes, which must be indicated in the order;
- in toilet bowls installed in the sanitary units of railway cars - three holes.
At the request of the consumer, toilet bowls are allowed to be manufactured without holes for fastening.
3.5 Cisterns
3.5.1 Types of cistern
Flushing tanks are available in the following types:
- a flushing cistern mounted on a toilet bowl with a side or top start;
- flushing tank low, medium and high with side start.
3.5.2 The main dimensions of the flushing tank should correspond to those shown in Figure 10.
It is allowed, upon agreement between the consumer and the manufacturer, to manufacture cisterns of other sizes, interconnected with the connecting dimensions of the toilet bowls, filling and drain fittings and ensuring the consumer properties of the product.
3.5.3 Flushing tanks must comply with the requirements of GOST 21485.
3.5.4 Holes in tanks for flush fittings and attachments to toilet bowls are accepted according to working drawings.
3.6.1 Types of bidets
Bidets are available in the following types:
1 - without overflow; 2 - with overflow.
It is allowed, in agreement with the consumer, to produce a type 2 bidet without overflow.
3.6.2 The main dimensions of the bidet are shown in Figure 11 and Table 4.

3.6.3 The dimensions of the openings, their location and number, depending on the type of mixing fittings and outlet, must correspond to those indicated in Figure 12.
By agreement with the consumer, it is allowed to manufacture a bidet with one hole in the shelf for installing water fittings.
Urinals GOST 30493-96
3.7 Urinals
3.7.1 Types of urinals
Urinals are available in the following types:
— wall-mounted urinal with one-piece cast siphon type 1;
— wall-mounted urinal with one-piece cast siphon type 2;
— a wall-mounted urinal without a one-piece cast ceramic siphon.
3.7.2 The main dimensions of urinals should be as shown in Figure 13.

3.8 Limit deviations overall dimensions and other sizes over 50 mm should be from plus 2.5 to minus 3%. Dimensional deviations of 50 mm or less, with the exception of those indicated in Figures 5 and 12, must be established in the working drawings.
3.9 The symbolic designation of products should consist of the first one or two letters of the product, a type designation (1, 2, 3 or 4), a number indicating the design of the toilet flush ring or the size of the washbasin, letters: D - for children's toilets, C - for washbasins with back, bS - for washbasins without a back, p - for washbasins with overflow, SU - for washbasins with a cut corner, vp - for cisterns with a top start, bp - for cisterns with a side start, f - for porcelain, pf - for semi-porcelain products, fs - for faience products and the designation of this standard.

3.10 Grading is set according to indicators appearance according to GOST 15167.
The attached shelf is not subject to subdivision into varieties.
3.11 Technical requirements, acceptance rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage and manufacturer's guarantees - in accordance with GOST 15167. Test methods - in accordance with GOST 13449.
Installation instructions
The toilet is installed in a specially prepared place: the pedestal is fixed with two or four bolts or screws, depending on the design of the toilet on wooden platform or fix cement mortar. On a toilet with a one-piece molded shelf, the tank is bolted to the toilet shelf. When installing a tank mounted on a separate shelf, rubber cuff, located on the nozzle of the shelf, is put on the socket of the toilet bowl and after that the shelf is attached to the toilet bowl.
The float valve must completely shut off the flow of water into the tank when the level is 20 mm below the overflow.
Installing the washbasin metal brackets.
On a pre-marked wall, two brackets are installed (with screws, bolts or by shooting) at a distance corresponding to the size between the mounting holes of the washbasin. The washbasin is mounted on brackets and its tailgate is fixed with a bracket or in another way, providing a load on the front edge of at least 1.5 kN (150 kgf) from tipping over.

The washbasin is mounted on a pedestal and bolted to the wall. The fastening must provide a load on the front edge of the washbasin of at least 1.5 kN (150 kgf) from overturning.

Visor with an oblique outlet without a one-piece molded shelf;
Funnel-shaped with a direct outlet with a one-piece molded shelf;
Funnel-shaped with an oblique outlet with a one-piece molded shelf;
Funnel-shaped with direct release without a one-piece molded shelf;
Funnel-shaped with an oblique outlet without a one-piece molded shelf.
3.4.4. For fixing toilets must have holes:
Two or four, which must be indicated in the order - in toilet bowls installed in sanitary facilities of amenity premises;
Three - in the toilets installed in the sanitary facilities of railway cars.
At the request of the consumer, toilet bowls can be made without holes for fastening.

3.3.4 Semicircular, oval, rectangular and trapezoidal washbasins are made with or without holes in the shelves for installing mixing fittings, which must be indicated in the consumer's order.
The dimensions of the holes, their location and number, depending on the type of mixing fittings, must correspond to those indicated in Figure 5.

3.3.5 Corner and surgical washbasins are made without holes in the shelf. The dimensions of the hole in the shelf of the hairdresser's washbasin for the faucet are shown in Figure 3.
3.3.6 The dimensions of the hole in the bowl of the washbasin for installing the outlet must correspond to those indicated in Figure 6.

3.3.7 The configuration of the upper surface of the ceramic pedestal must correspond to the configuration of the lower surface of the bowl of the washbasin for which the pedestal is intended (Figure 4).
3.4 Toilets
3.4.1 Types of toilets
Toilets produce the following types:
- a bowl-type toilet bowl with an oblique outlet with a one-piece molded shelf;
- a bowl bowl with direct release with an integrally molded shelf;
- a bowl-type toilet bowl with an oblique outlet without a one-piece molded shelf, including for children;
- a bowl-type toilet bowl with a direct outlet without a one-piece molded shelf, including for children;
- a visor toilet bowl with an oblique outlet with a one-piece molded shelf;
- a visor toilet bowl with an oblique outlet without a one-piece molded shelf;
- a funnel-shaped toilet bowl with a direct outlet with a one-piece molded shelf;
- a funnel-shaped toilet bowl with an oblique outlet with a one-piece molded shelf;
- a funnel-shaped toilet bowl with a direct outlet without a one-piece molded shelf;
- a funnel-shaped toilet bowl with an oblique outlet without a one-piece molded shelf.
3.4.2 The main dimensions of the toilets are shown in Figures 7, 8 and Table 3.

3.4.3 Toilets installed in the sanitary facilities of railway cars are shown in Figure 9.

3.4.4 For fixing toilet bowls must have holes:
- in toilet bowls installed in sanitary units of household premises - two or four holes, which must be indicated in the order;
- in toilets installed in the sanitary units of railway cars - three holes.
At the request of the consumer, toilet bowls are allowed to be manufactured without holes for fastening.
3.5 Cisterns
3.5.1 Types of cistern
Flushing tanks are available in the following types:
- a flushing cistern mounted on a toilet bowl with a side or top start;
- low flush, medium and high flush cistern with side start.
3.5.2 The main dimensions of the flushing tank should correspond to those shown in Figure 10.
It is allowed, upon agreement between the consumer and the manufacturer, to manufacture cisterns of other sizes, interconnected with the connecting dimensions of the toilet bowls, filling and drain fittings and ensuring the consumer properties of the product.
3.5.3 Flushing tanks must comply with the requirements of GOST 21485.
3.5.4 Holes in tanks for flush fittings and attachments to toilet bowls are accepted according to working drawings.

3.6 Bidet
3.6.1 Types of bidets
Bidets are available in the following types:
1 - without overflow; 2 - with overflow.
It is allowed, in agreement with the consumer, to produce a type 2 bidet without overflow.
3.6.2 The main dimensions of the bidet are shown in Figure 11 and Table 4.

3.6.3 The dimensions of the openings, their location and number, depending on the type of mixing fittings and outlet, must correspond to those indicated in Figure 12.
By agreement with the consumer, it is allowed to manufacture a bidet with one hole in the shelf for installing water fittings.

3.7 Urinals
3.7.1 Types of urinals
Urinals are available in the following types:
- wall-mounted urinal with one-piece cast siphon type 1;
- wall-mounted urinal with one-piece cast siphon type 2;
- wall-mounted urinal without a one-piece ceramic siphon.
3.7.2 The main dimensions of urinals should be as shown in Figure 13.

3.8 Limit deviations of overall dimensions and other dimensions of more than 50 mm should be from plus 2.5 to minus 3%. Dimensional deviations of 50 mm or less, with the exception of those indicated in Figures 5 and 12, must be established in the working drawings.
3.9 The symbolic designation of products should consist of the first one or two letters of the product, a type designation (1, 2, 3 or 4), a number indicating the design of the toilet flush ring or the size of the washbasin, letters: D - for children's toilets, C - for washbasins with back, bS - for washbasins without a back, p - for washbasins with overflow, SU - for washbasins with a cut corner, vp - for cisterns with a top start, bp - for cisterns with a side start, f - for porcelain, pf - for semi-porcelain products, fs - for faience products and the designation of this standard.

3.10 The grade is set according to the appearance indicators in accordance with GOST 15167.
The attached shelf is not subject to subdivision into varieties.
3.11 Technical requirements, acceptance rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage and manufacturer's warranties - in accordance with GOST 15167. Test methods - according to GOST 13449.
4 Installation instructions
The toilet bowl is installed in a specially prepared place: the pedestal is fixed with two or four bolts or screws, depending on the design of the toilet bowl, on a wooden platform or fixed with cement mortar. On a toilet with a one-piece molded shelf, the tank is bolted to the toilet shelf. When installing a tank mounted on a separate shelf, the rubber cuff located on the nozzle of the shelf is put on the socket of the toilet bowl and after that the shelf is attached to the toilet bowl.
The float valve must completely shut off the flow of water into the tank when the level is 20 mm below the overflow.
Installation of a washbasin on metal brackets.
On a pre-marked wall, two brackets are installed (with screws, bolts or by shooting) at a distance corresponding to the size between the mounting holes of the washbasin. The washbasin is mounted on brackets and its tailgate is fixed with a bracket or in another way, providing a load on the front edge of at least 1.5 kN (150 kgf) from tipping over.

On the pre-marked wall, two bolts are installed at a distance corresponding to the size between the mounting holes on the rear mounting surface of the washbasin. The washbasin is mounted on a pedestal and bolted to the wall. The fastening must provide a load on the front edge of the washbasin of at least 1.5 kN (150 kgf) from overturning.

1 area of use
This standard applies to sanitary ceramic (porcelain, semi-porcelain and faience) washbasins, washbasin pedestals, toilet bowls, flush cisterns, bidets, urinals and establishes their types and main dimensions.
Ceramic sanitary products are intended for installation in sanitary facilities, in amenity and other premises of buildings for various purposes, in sanitary facilities of river and sea vessels and railway cars.
The requirements of section 3 are mandatory, the rest are recommended, and can be specified by agreement between the manufacturer and the consumer (customer).
This standard uses references to the following standards:

3 Types and basic dimensions
3.1 Ceramic sanitary products (wash basins, toilet bowls, flush tanks, bidets, urinals) are made of the following types in accordance with the requirements of this standard according to approved working drawings.
Elements of the main products are given in Appendix A.
3.2 The form of products is not regulated by this standard.
3.3 Washbasins
3.3.1 Types of washbasins
Washbasins are produced in the following types:
Semicircular, oval, rectangular, trapezoidal with or without a back;
Corner with or without a back and with or without overflow, with a cut corner;
Surgical and hairdressing without a back.
3.3.2 The main dimensions of semicircular, oval, rectangular and trapezoidal washbasins are shown in Figure 1 and Table 1.

3.3.4 Semicircular, oval, rectangular and trapezoidal washbasins are made with or without holes in the shelves for installing mixing fittings, which must be indicated in the consumer's order.
The dimensions of the holes, their location and number, depending on the type of mixing fittings, must correspond to those indicated in Figure 5.

3.3.5 Corner and surgical washbasins are made without holes in the shelf. The dimensions of the hole in the shelf of the hairdresser's washbasin for the faucet are shown in Figure 3.
3.3.6 The dimensions of the hole in the bowl of the washbasin for installing the outlet must correspond to those indicated in Figure 6.

3.3.7 The configuration of the upper surface of the ceramic pedestal must correspond to the configuration of the lower surface of the bowl of the washbasin for which the pedestal is intended (Figure 4).
3.4 Toilets
3.4.1 Types of toilets
Toilets produce the following types:
A bowl-shaped toilet bowl with an oblique outlet with a one-piece molded shelf;
Direct outlet bowl WC with one-piece molded shelf;
A bowl-shaped toilet bowl with an oblique outlet without a one-piece molded shelf, including for children;
A bowl-type toilet bowl with a direct outlet without a one-piece molded shelf, including for children;
A visor toilet bowl with an oblique outlet with a one-piece molded shelf;
A visor toilet bowl with an oblique outlet without a one-piece molded shelf;
A funnel-shaped toilet bowl with a direct outlet with a one-piece molded shelf;
A funnel-shaped toilet bowl with an oblique outlet with a one-piece molded shelf;
A funnel-shaped toilet bowl with a direct outlet without a one-piece molded shelf;
The toilet bowl is funnel-shaped with an oblique outlet without a one-piece molded shelf.

3.4.4 For fixing toilet bowls must have holes:
In toilet bowls installed in the sanitary facilities of household premises, there are two or four holes, which must be indicated in the order;
There are three holes in the toilet bowls installed in the sanitary units of railway cars.
At the request of the consumer, toilet bowls are allowed to be manufactured without holes for fastening.
3.5 Cisterns
3.5.1 Types of cistern
Flushing tanks are available in the following types:
Flushing cistern mounted on the toilet with side or top start;
Flushing cistern low, medium and high with side start.
3.5.2 The main dimensions of the flushing tank should correspond to those shown in Figure 10.
It is allowed, upon agreement between the consumer and the manufacturer, to manufacture cisterns of other sizes, interconnected with the connecting dimensions of the toilet bowls, filling and drain fittings and ensuring the consumer properties of the product.
3.5.3 Flushing tanks must comply with the requirements of GOST 21485.

3.6 Bidet
3.6.1 Types of bidets
Bidets are available in the following types:
1 - without overflow; 2 - with overflow.
It is allowed, in agreement with the consumer, to produce a type 2 bidet without overflow.

3.7 Urinals
3.7.1 Types of urinals
Urinals are available in the following types:
Wall-mounted urinal with one-piece cast siphon type 1;
Wall-mounted urinal with one-piece cast siphon type 2;
Wall-mounted urinal without a one-piece ceramic siphon.
3.7.2 The main dimensions of urinals should be as shown in Figure 13.

3.8 Limit deviations of overall dimensions and other dimensions of more than 50 mm should be from plus 2.5 to minus 3%. Dimensional deviations of 50 mm or less, with the exception of those indicated in Figures 5 and 12, must be established in the working drawings.

4 Installation instructions
The toilet bowl is installed in a specially prepared place: the pedestal is fixed with two or four bolts or screws, depending on the design of the toilet bowl, on a wooden platform or fixed with cement mortar. On a toilet with a one-piece molded shelf, the tank is bolted to the toilet shelf. When installing a tank mounted on a separate shelf, the rubber cuff located on the nozzle of the shelf is put on the socket of the toilet bowl and after that the shelf is attached to the toilet bowl.
