“Native Land” Anna Akhmatova

And there are no more tearless people in the world,
More arrogant and simpler than us.

We don’t carry them on our chests in our treasured amulet,
We don’t write poems about her sobbingly,
She doesn't wake up our bitter dreams,
Doesn't seem like the promised paradise.
We don’t do it in our souls
Subject of purchase and sale,
Sick, in poverty, speechless on her,
We don't even remember her.
Yes, for us it’s dirt on our galoshes,
Yes, for us it's a crunch in the teeth.
And we grind, and knead, and crumble
Those unmixed ashes.
But we lie down in it and become it,
That's why we call it so freely - ours.

Analysis of Akhmatva’s poem “Native Land”

After the revolution, Anna Akhmatova had quite a few opportunities to leave rebellious Russia and move to a well-fed, prosperous Europe. However, every time the poetess received such a proposal from relatives or friends, she felt a sense of annoyance. She could not understand how it was possible to live in another country, where everything seemed alien and incomprehensible. Therefore, back in 1917, she made her choice, declaring that she intended to share the fate of her own homeland.

The first post-revolutionary years turned into a real nightmare for Akhmatova. Having survived the arrest and execution of his ex-spouse Nikolai Gumilyov, as well as the loss of many friends who died in the camps, Akhmatova nevertheless refused to leave Russia. Here she survived the arrest of her own son, met her subsequent spouses and saw firsthand that an external enemy could unite the Russian people, turning even women, children and the elderly into courageous warriors.

Having survived the horrors of besieged Leningrad, hunger, mortal danger and even the threat of repression, in 1961 Anna Akhmatova wrote the poem “Native Land”, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. Patriotic War. In him we're talking about not about the country as such, but about its eternal symbol - the fertile black soil, which grain growers still revere as their breadwinner. However, in Soviet times, the attitude towards the land was somewhat different, so the poetess writes that “we don’t carry it in treasured amulet on our chests, we don’t write poems about it sobbing.”

Indeed, by the 60s of the last century, the tradition of worshiping one’s native land was a thing of the past. However, Akhmatova was convinced that ethnic memory was alive in the soul of every person, which had been accumulated over many generations. Yes, people who are accustomed to working in the fields simply do not pay attention to the land, which takes so much strength from them. “For us, this is dirt on galoshes,” the poetess is convinced. However, she is also well aware that not a single Russian person can imagine his life without this very “dirt.” If only because after graduation life path It is the earth that accepts the bodies of people, becoming a second home for them. “But we lie down in it and become it, that’s why we call it so freely – ours,” notes Akhmatova. And these simple lines contain the highest meaning, since there is no need to sing praises to our native land, it is enough just to remember that it is a part of the all-encompassing concept of “homeland”.

Every person has a homeland. And she means a lot to everyone. The memory of our native places is the most precious; from birth we give a piece of our heart to our native land. Have you noticed that when some troubles happen, childhood memories come to mind. Magic time, when there was no need to take responsibility for practically anything.

Our ancestors believed that the native land could give a person strength, support and even heal. Both spirit and body. I'm sure this is the real truth. In Russian epics about Ilya Muromets, it was mentioned more than once how she fueled his strength. And this helped the hero fight his enemies. There are still places in our country that have magical power. They are able to feed people with energy, help fight diseases, and strengthen the spirit. There are many such places in Altai. To get there, people gather in groups and organize expeditions.

There are enough miracles and beauty in our land. Much has been said about the nature of Russian lands. How many songs and legends have been written about her. I think every Russian poet and writer dedicated at least one of his works to his native land. The poems by A.S. are especially good. Pushkin and S.A. Yesenina. Their native land is not an empty phrase for them. Only a Russian person can describe a birch grove, a wheat field, a green forest, a fresh breeze in such a way that you immediately feel trembling excitement.

During the period of Soviet power, most Russian writers and poets could not come to terms with it. So a huge number of talents went to live abroad. This did not stop them from continuing to write about their homeland. Russia forever remained in the hearts of many of them. This love cannot be killed, it is in our blood. It seems to me that only our Motherland has a real, human soul. A Russian person can feel her kindness, love, generosity and sincerity.

I traveled abroad with my parents several times. We went to Greece, America, Romania. Beautiful countries, beautiful cities, there were a lot of impressions. But as soon as I got home, I felt how much I missed my land. No other can replace my homeland. You can travel around the world for the rest of your life, but a person will always be drawn home. And he will come back no matter what. Because his heart belongs to his homeland. Only with her can we find peace and tranquility; she is our mother and protector.

Theme description: The image of the native land, motherland which we grew up with.

"Image of the native land."

I often think: where does the Motherland begin? From the house where I grew up, from warm hands mothers who hug and caress me, from the stern gaze of my father, when I learned to hold a spoon in my hands to eat? Or from the sun, which is impossible to look at, and it manifests itself only as red flashes on closed eyelids, or as a sunbeam running through the green foliage of trees? Or maybe from the endless sky - an overturned blue cup, and stars that lead even the most lost wanderer through the night?

I think that the Motherland begins with such impressions, when you are surprised by the world and understand that the place where you were born is completely unique and inimitable. The connection with our native land and native land remains with us for the rest of our lives, and I believe that even if I go far, far away and settle down in life, I will still miss my Motherland and consider it best place all over the globe.

Then the image of our native land is formed in our minds with the help of books. I remember how, when I was very little, I listened to Pushkin’s fairy tales and was completely fascinated by them. Russians folk tales were also one of my favorites, and they remain so to this day. IN primary school we were taught to count and write, I will never forget my first call, because for me this is also an image of the Motherland.

Already now I have read in textbooks about the exploits of our soldiers who died bravely fighting for their native land. They did this so that we could live in this country, could rejoice and love our native land as much as our ancestors bequeathed to us to do.
