What is ionized water and how is it obtained

Ionized water is called water that has passed the process of saturation with charged particles using an electric current and, as a result, has changed the initial pH.

Which water is called alkaline and which is called acidic

These two species have completely different properties.

To characterize a liquid, an indicator such as a redox potential is often used. The negative-type ORP has an excess of electrons, that is, water with an increased redox potential is an electron donor. Electrons are movement, which means life. We conclude that the more negative the ORP of water, the more "lively" it is. A positive charge indicates a lack of electrons. Water with a positive ORP will, like a magnet, attract electrons to itself.

If we talk about the pH level, then it indicates how many hydrogen ions are contained in the water. The pH value ranges from 0 to 12 units. If the water is neutral, then its pH level is 7. In other words, in such water, the number of hydrogen ions is equal to the number of hydroxides. If the pH level rises to 12, then the water turns into alkaline, that is, the content of hydroxide ions in it is increased. If the indicator decreases to 0, then this indicates an increase in the acidity level. Such water contains many hydrogen ions.

Differences between ionized water and simple

Actually, plain water differs from ionized water by the two parameters described above. These are pH and ORP. Alkaline ionized water has a pH level above 7. Acidic water has a pH level below 7. Valery Grischuk, an expert in the field of water treatment, sewerage and post-treatment of drinking water, explains: it is known that water in the human body has a Ph of 7.5. That is, it is water with such a level of acidity that is optimal for human consumption, therefore, it is this level of acidity (or as close as possible to this indicator) that drinking water should have. The same with the redox potential. Human blood has a negative Eh (minus 100 mV). But tap water in Kiev has this indicator at the level of + 260 mV. That is, if a person drinks such tap water, then his body is forced to spend energy to turn + 260 to -100 mV.

“Highly specialized specialists in this field note: if a person uses such water, then he loses 30-40 years of life,” says Valery Grischuk.

By the way, according to the scientist, the value of the redox potential is very high in drinks such as Fanta, Pepsi and Coca-Cola (approximately +400 mV). Therefore, we can say that these drinks increase the risk of disease for heart disease and cancer.

How to determine the redox potential at home

To confirm his words, during a conversation with a journalist, the scientist conducted a study of the indicators of tap water. The study of water showed: Ph of tap water is 7.3, but the redox potential is +280 mV.

In nature, the ORP of water can have a very wide range - from -400 to +700 mV. This difference occurs as a result of the interaction of water with the environment, organic and mineral substances.
