Midnight Office - night church service. It is modeled after the night prayer of the Savior in the Garden of Gethsemane and is dedicated to the coming second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is not given to anyone to know the times and dates when the Savior will again appear in the world, therefore believers must constantly watch and pray.

Order of the Midnight Office

The daily midnight office consists of two parts. The first part includes the usual beginning (almost any church service or home prayer rule begins with it), Psalm 50, Psalm 118, the Creed, “Our Father,” troparia dedicated to the second coming, and prayers. Then, if there is a fast, the Lenten prayer of Ephraim the Syrian is read. Then follows the second part: two prayers of Basil the Great, psalms 120 and 133, “Our Father,” funeral troparia and prayers. Then the priest pronounces the dismissal and asks for forgiveness from those praying, and then pronounces the litany.

At the Saturday Midnight Office, other troparia are read; instead of the 118th Psalm, the 9th Kathisma is read. At the Sunday Midnight Office the second part is not read; instead of the troparions, ipakoi are read - Sunday hymns dedicated to the myrrh-bearing women who came to the tomb of Christ early in the morning and did not find His body. Instead of Psalm 119 or Kathisma, the canon to the Holy Trinity is read, and instead of the Creed, a prayer to the Trinity is read.

Currently, the Midnight Office is celebrated only in monasteries, very early in the morning. The only midnight office that is served in all churches, not only monasteries, is the Easter service, with which the night service on Easter begins. It differs from everyday, and from Saturday, and from Sunday. At this service the canon read on Holy Saturday is repeated. This canon reveals the theological meaning of Christ's death on the Cross and His descent into hell. Immediately after the mournful Easter Midnight Office, the joyful Easter Matins begins, dedicated to the remembrance of the Resurrection of Christ.

10. Midnight Office

At midnight or even at night, before the start of Matins, a divine service is supposed to be performed, which is called the “midnight office.” There are three types of Midnight Office: daily, performed on weekdays from Monday to Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Everyday and Saturday are longer and each consist of two parts; Sunday consists of only one part.

At the Sunday Midnight Office, prayer: “The Almighty and Life-Giving Holy Trinity,” minor dismissal, ordinary forgiveness.

The second part of the Midnight Office (daily and Saturday) follows from Psalms 120 “I have lifted up my eyes to the mountains...” and Psalm 133. “Behold now bless...” The Trisagion after the “Our Father”, funeral troparia and the funeral prayer “Remember, O Lord...”

All three Midnight Offices end with a small dismissal, ordinary forgiveness and a special litany, the same as happens at the end of Compline. According to the Athos charter, at the end of the daily and Saturday midnight office the troparia are sung: “ Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us!” Glory: “Lord, have mercy on us", And now: "Open the doors of mercy for us...”, and a litany is pronounced, consisting of two petitions: “ Have mercy on us, O God, according to Your great mercy", to which it is sung " Lord have mercy" three times, and “We also pray for the preservation of this holy monastery and this city..." to which it is sung " Lord have mercy" 40 times, after which the exclamation: " Hear us, O God, our Savior» and then “Glory to Thee, Christ God, our hope..." and dismissal with the usual forgiveness.

The purpose of the Midnight Office, according to the explanation of the “News of the Teacher,” is to: 1. Remind the believers how our Lord, at midnight going to free passion, in Vertograd, in such ascetic labor diligently prayed, as the sweat of His being, as drops of blood dripping to the ground; 2. Encourage believers to be always ready for the day of the last Last Judgment who may come like a bridegroom at midnight; 3. Teach believers to imitate the vigil of Angels, vigilantly singing: “Holy, holy, holy!”

From Wednesday of Holy Week to the Week of St. Thomas, the charter specifies that in monasteries the Midnight Office should be celebrated not in the church, but in cells.

On holidays, such as On September 9, December 26, January 7, on Monday of the Holy Spirit, on the celebration of Easter, it is indicated according to the first Trisagion, instead of “Behold the Bridegroom comes at midnight,” to sing the troparion of the holiday, and according to the second Trisagion, instead of the funeral troparions, the kontakion of the holiday. And then the funeral prayer “Remember, Lord, in the hope of resurrection” is not said (see the Typikon for the sequence of these days).

Midnight Office and Matins for Widows according to the “Testament”

Midnight Office and Matins for Widows According to the “Testament” Appointing for each degree of clergy its own service, and more particularly its own matins, the “Testament” gives a special rite of such matins for widows, the main representatives (“presbyters”) of women’s church service, and at the same time for the asceticism of that

What is the Midnight Office prayer?

FLOOR NIGHT EVERYDAY

As usual, we begin with the verb with tenderness and contrition of heart:

Z and the prayers of our holy fathers, Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us (bow). A min.

WITH lava to you, our God, glory to you for everyone's sake (three times).

B O God, cleanse me, a sinner, for I have done no good before You. (bow), but deliver me from evil, and Thy will be done in me (bow), May I open my unworthy lips without condemnation, and praise Your holy name, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages, amen (bow).

C Heavenly Ara, Comforter, True Soul, who is everywhere and fulfills everything, the treasure of good things, and the Giver of life, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us from all filth, and save the Good One, our soul.

WITH Holy God, Holy and Mighty, Holy and Immortal, have mercy on us (three times, and three bows).

WITH Lava to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages, amen.

P Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. Lord, cleanse our sins. Master, forgive our iniquities. Saints, visit and heal our infirmities; for Thy name's sake.

ABOUT our dear, who art in heaven; Hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done, as in heaven and on earth, give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, just as we forgive our debtors; and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

G Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us. A min.

Posikh, prayer: From Having risen from sleep, I thank Thee, All-Holy Trinity, for for the sake of many, for the sake of kindness and long-suffering, Thou hast not been angry with me, a sinner, and Thy lazy servant, and Thou hast not destroyed me with my iniquities, but my love for mankind, and lying in hopelessness, raised me up to train and glorify the power Your invincible; and now, Master God of the Most Holy, enlighten the eyes of my heart, and open my lips to learn Thy words, and understand Thy commandments, and do Thy will, and sing to Thee in confession of the heart, and sing and glorify Thy most honorable and magnificent name: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages, amen.

P come, let us worship our God the King (bow).

P Come, let us worship Christ, the King and our God (bow).

P Come, let us bow and fall before the Lord Jesus Christ himself, the King and our God (bow).

Glory, even now, without Alleluia. Also, confession Orthodox faith. IN I believe in one God.

Trisagion. And by Our Father.

This Troparion, tone 8: WITH e The Bridegroom comes at midnight, and blessed is the servant; he will be found vigilant. He is not worthy of the pack; he will be found by being lazy. Take care therefore that my soul may not be burdened with sleep, and may not be given over to death, and be shut out of the kingdom, but rise up and cry: Holy, holy, holy art thou, O God, for the sake of the Mother of God, have mercy on us.

Glory. D He is a terrible thinker, rest on my soul, burning your candle and illuminating with oil, for fear not when a voice comes to you saying: Behold the Bridegroom. Take care, my soul, that you do not slumber and remain outside the crowd, like five virgins; but stay vigilant, so that Christ may be merciful and give you the palace of His divine glory.

And now. You have an insurmountable wall of faithfulness and affirmation of salvation, We pray to the Virgin Mary: destroy the advice of those who resist and turn your people’s sorrow into joy. Peace your peace and establish the Orthodox, and pray for the humility of the world, for you are the Mother of God, our hope.

The same prayer of Great Vasily: AND But at all times, and at every hour, in heaven and on earth, worshiped and glorified, the Good God, long-suffering and abundantly merciful; Those who are righteous love and have mercy on sinners; Calls to salvation for all, promises for future benefits; Lord Himself, accept our prayers at this hour, and correct our belly in goodness, to Your commandments. Sanctify our soul, and cleanse our bodies, correct our thoughts, and cleanse our thoughts, make our minds chaste and sober, and deliver us from all sorrow, evil and disease, and spiritual passions, and protect us with Your holy angels, so that by guarding and instructing them in the army, we will achieve the unity of faith, and in the mind of the inviolable glory of You, for blessed are You forever, Amen.

Is the same, G Lord have mercy (three times). Glory, even now.

H the most natural cherub, and the most glorious truly seraphim, who without corruption gave birth to God the Word, the real Mother of God we magnify Thee. And bow.

AND God bless me, father.

Z and the prayers of our holy fathers, Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us. A min.

Whenever there is fasting, or apart from fasting, we always sing Alleluia and make three great prostrations, saying the prayer of St. Ephraim.

G Lord, and Master of my belly, the spirit of despondency, neglect, love of money and idle talk, drive away from me (bow).

D wow, chastity, humility, patience and love, which I have granted to Your servant (bow).

E oh, Lord the King, grant me to see my sins, and not to condemn my brother, for blessed art thou forever, amen (bow). And 12 other bows, saying within:

G Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner (twice with bows).

B O God, be merciful to me, a sinner (bow).

B O God, cleanse my sins and have mercy on me (bow).

WITH Bless me, Lord, have mercy (bow).

B Beyond the number of sinners, Lord, forgive me (bow).

And having finished bowing again, we say the entire prayer I write above: G Lord and Master of my belly. And one bow.

And after saying the prayer, or after H the most natural cherub, let's say this prayer Great Vasily:

IN O Lord God, Father Almighty, and Lord the Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Soul, one Divinity, and one power, have mercy on me, a sinner, and through their destinies, save me, Thy unworthy servant, for blessed art Thou forever, amen.

Is the same, P come on, let's bow (three times). And three bows.

Psalm 120. IN I have directed my eyes to the mountains, from there my help will come. My help comes from the Lord, who created heaven and earth. Do not let your feet fall into confusion; below you will fall asleep and protect you. He will neither slumber nor sleep, the guardian of Israel. The Lord will protect you; the Lord will cover your right hand. The sun will not burn you during the day, nor the moon at night, the Lord will protect you from all evil, the Lord will preserve your soul. The Lord will preserve your coming in and your going out from now and forever.

Psalm 133. WITH Now bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who stand in the temple of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God. At night, lift up your hands in holiness, and bless the Lord. The Lord will bless you from Zion, having created heaven and earth.

Trisagion, and three bows.

By ABOUT Our dear, this troparion:

P Lord, remember that His servants are good, and if you have sinned in this life, forgive me. No one is without sin, only You can give peace to the departed.

AND But with the depths of wisdom, constructing everything in a humane manner, and giving it to the benefit of all, the only Creator, rest, Lord, the soul of His departed servants, having placed their trust in You, Creator and Maker and our God.

Glory. WITH O holy rest, O Christ, the soul of His servant, where there is no sickness, no sorrow, no sighing, but life. eternal.

And now, the Mother of God: B We wish, we all give birth to You, Virgin Mother of God, in You, Christ our God is inconceivable, you will be contained, blessed are we, and we are Your helper, praying for us day and night, and the powers of the kingdom are established by Your prayers. Thus we cry out to You in gratitude: Rejoice, O joyful Lord: with You.

G Lord have mercy (12). Also, this prayer:

P O Lord, who in the hope of resurrection and eternal life, remember our departed fathers and brethren, and all who died in the pious faith, and forgive them every sin, voluntary and involuntary, in word and deed, and in thought, sinned by them and house them in their places bright, in a cool place, in a calm place, from where all illness, and sorrow and sighing have fled, where the light of Thy face is present, and all Thy holy ones from all eternity rejoice. And grant them Thy kingdom, and the participation of Thy ineffable and eternal blessings, and Thy endless and blessed life of pleasure. For you are the resurrection and life and peace; to Your departed servant, Christ our God, and to You we send up glory, with the beginningless Father, and with the Most Holy and Good and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages, Amen.

Is the same: Glory, even now. G Lord have mercy (twice) . G God bless.

And leave: G Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, prayers for the sake of Your Most Pure Mother, our reverend and God-bearing fathers and all for the sake of the saints, have mercy and save us, for you are Good and Lover of Mankind, amen.

And forgiveness: ABOUT Glory, leave, forgive, God, my sins, voluntary and involuntary, even in word and in deed, and in knowledge and in ignorance, in mind and in thought, in days and in nights, forgive me all, for I am Good and Lover of Humanity, Amen.

And a prayer with bows: N Forgive those who hate and offend us, Lord Lover of Mankind. Do good to those who do good, to the brethren and to all our relatives, even those who are alone, grant them everything, even petitions for salvation and eternal life (bow).

IN Visit and heal existing illnesses, in the prisons of existing freedom, on the floating waters, wake up the Ruler and correct and hasten those who are on their way. (bow).

P Lord, remember our captive brethren, fellow believers of the Orthodox faith, and deliver them from every evil situation (bow).

P Lord, have mercy on those who gave us alms and commanded us, unworthy, to pray for them, forgive them and have mercy (bow).

P Lord, have mercy on those who labor and serve us, who have mercy and nourishment on us, and grant them all petitions and eternal life that lead to salvation (bow).

P O Lord, remember our fathers and brethren who departed before, and bring them home, where the light of Your face shines (bow).

P Lord, remember our thinness and wretchedness, and enlighten our minds with the light of reason of Your holy Gospel, and guide us on the path of Your commandments, through the prayers of Your Most Pure Mother and all Your saints, amen (bow).

SEQUENCE OF THE MIDNIGHT OFFICE

NIGHT OFFICE DAILY

If the priest says: Blessed is our God, always, now and ever, and unto ages of ages.

And we say: Amen.

Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee.

Heavenly King, Comforter, Soul of truth, Who is everywhere and fulfills everything, Treasurer of good things and Giver of life, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us from all filth, and save, O Good One, our souls.

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (three times).

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Holy Trinity, have mercy on us: Lord, cleanse our sins: Master, forgive our iniquities: Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities for Thy name’s sake.

Lord have mercy (three times).

Our Father, who art in heaven! Hallowed be thy name: thy kingdom come: thy will be done as it is in heaven and on earth. Give us this day our daily bread: and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Priest: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages.

The same: Lord, have mercy. (12)

Come, let us worship our king God.

Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ our King God.

Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ himself, the king and our God.

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your mercies, cleanse my iniquity. Above all, wash me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my iniquity, and I will take away my sin before me. You alone have sinned and done evil before You: so that You may be justified in Your words and overcome Your judgment. Behold, I was conceived in iniquity, and my mother gave birth to me in sins. You have loved the truth; you have revealed to me the unknown and secret wisdom of Yours. Sprinkle me with hyssop and I will be cleansed; Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Give joy and gladness to my hearing: and humble bones will rejoice. Turn Your face away from my sins, and cleanse all my iniquities. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a right spirit in my womb. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Reward me with the joy of Your salvation, and strengthen me with the Lord’s Spirit. I will teach the wicked Your way, and the wicked will turn to You. Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, God of my salvation; my tongue will rejoice in Your righteousness. Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will declare Your praise. As if you had desired sacrifices, you would have given them: you do not favor burnt offerings. A sacrifice to God is a contrite spirit: God will not despise a contrite and humble heart. Bless Zion, O Lord, with Your favor, and may the walls of Jerusalem be built. Then you will be pleased with the sacrifice of righteousness, the wave offering and the burnt offering: then they will lay the bullock on Your altar.

Thy hands make me, and create me: give me understanding, and I will learn Thy commandment. Those who fear You will see me and rejoice, because they trust in Your words. I understood, Lord, that Thy destiny is true, and Thou hast truly humbled me. May Thy mercy comfort me according to Thy word, Thy servant: May Thy compassions come to me, and I will live, for Thy law is my teaching. Let pride be ashamed, for it is the unrighteousness of your lawlessness against me: I will scoff at Your commandments. Let those who fear You and those who know Your testimony convert me. May my heart be blameless in Your justifications, so that I will not be ashamed. My soul disappears for Your salvation, I trust in Your words. My eyes are lost in Thy word, saying: When Thou hast comforted me; Once upon a time I would be like fur on the slate: I have not forgotten Your justifications. How many are the days of Thy servant; when you bring judgment upon me from those who persecute me; The lawbreakers have told me mockery, but not like Thy law, O Lord. All Your commandments are true: having persecuted me unrighteously, help me. For a little while I was not put to death on earth: I did not forsake Thy commandments. Live for me according to Thy mercy, and I will preserve the testimonies of Thy mouth. For ever, O Lord, Your Word remains in heaven. To generation and generation Thy truth, Thou hast founded the earth, and endureth. The day endures through Your teaching, for all kinds of work are done by You. As if it were not for Your law, my teaching, then I would have perished in my humility. I will never forget my excuses, for you have revived me in them.

I am Thine, save me, for I seek the justification of Thy demands. Waiting for a sinner to destroy me, I understood Your testimony. I have seen the end of every end: Thy commandment is great. Since I have loved Your law, O Lord, I have my teaching all day long. Thou hast made me wiser than my enemy through Thy commandment, as I am forever. More than all those who taught me, I understood that Your testimonies are my teaching. Moreover, the elder understood that I have sought Your commandments. I have forbidden my feet from every evil way, that I may keep Thy words. I have not deviated from Your judgments: for You have laid down laws for me. How sweet is Your word to my throat, more than honey to my mouth? I understood from Your commandments, and for this reason I hated every way of unrighteousness. The lamp of my feet is Your law, and the light of my paths. I swore and set them to preserve the fate of Your righteousness. I humble myself to the core: Lord, live me according to Your word. Grant me the freedom of my lips, O Lord, and teach me Your destinies. I will take my soul into Your hand, and I will not forget Your law. The sinners have laid a net for me, and from Your commandments they will not go astray. I have inherited Your testimonies forever, for the joy of my heart is the essence. Incline my heart to create Your justifications forever for reward. I have hated the lawbreakers, but I have loved Your law. You are my helper and my protector; I trust in your words. Depart from me, you wicked ones, and I will obey the commandments of my God. Intercede for me according to Your word, and I will live, and do not disgrace me because of my hope. Help me, and I will be saved, and I will learn from Your justifications. Thou hast brought to naught all those who depart from Thy justifications, for their thoughts are unrighteous. You who transgress against all the sinners of the earth: for this reason I have loved Your testimony. Nail my flesh with Thy fear: for I am afraid of Thy judgments. Having done justice and justice, do not betray me to those who offend me. Consider Thy servant for good, so that pride does not slander me. My eyes disappear into Your salvation and into the word of Your righteousness. Deal with Thy servant according to Thy mercy, and teach me Thy justification. I am Thy servant; give me understanding, and I will hear Thy testimony. It is time for the Lord to do: I have destroyed Your law. For this reason I have loved Your commandments more than gold and topaz. For this reason, I was guided by all Your commandments, and I hated every path of unrighteousness. Wonderful is Thy testimony: for this reason I am tested, my soul. The manifestation of Your words enlightens and instructs little ones. My mouth was opened, and my spirit was drawn, because I desired Thy commandments.

Glory to the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. Glory to You, God. Three times.

Lord have mercy. (3) Glory, even now. Amen.

I believe in one God the Father, Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, visible to all and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only Begotten, who was born of the Father before all ages. Light from light, true God from true God, begotten, uncreated, consubstantial with the Father, to Whom all things were. For our sake, man and our salvation, who came down from heaven, and became incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became human. She was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried. And he rose again on the third day according to the scriptures. And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father. And again He will come with glory, to judge the living and the dead, His kingdom will have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the life-giving, who proceeds from the Father, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who spoke the prophets. Into one, holy, catholic and Apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the remission of sins. I hope for the resurrection of the dead: And the life of the next century. Amen.

Trisagion. Holy Trinity: According to Our Father:

Priest: For Yours is the kingdom:

Also troparia, tone 8:

Behold, the bridegroom comes at midnight, and blessed is the servant, who will be found when she is awake, but unworthy again, who will be found when she is despondent: take care, therefore, my soul, not to be burdened with sleep, lest you be put to death, and the kingdom be shut up without: but arise, calling: holy, holy Thou art holy, O God, have mercy on us through the Mother of God.

Glory: Think about this terrible day, my soul, burning Thy light, illuminating with oil: do not worry when a voice comes to You saying: Behold the bridegroom. Take care, my soul, that you do not slack and remain outside interpreting, like the five virgins: but wait vigilantly, so that Christ may be anointed with oil, and He will give you the divine palace of His glory.

And now, the Mother of God: You are an insurmountable wall, an affirmation of salvation, Virgin Mary, we pray: destroy the resistant councils, turn Your people’s sorrow into joy, protect Your city, help the God-protected kings, pray for the peace of the world, as You are, Mother of God, our hope.

Also: Lord, have mercy. (40)

Who at all times and at every hour, in heaven and on earth, is worshiped and glorified, Christ God, long-suffering, abundantly merciful, abundantly gracious, who loves the righteous and has mercy on sinners, who calls everyone to salvation, promises for the sake of future blessings: Himself, Lord, accept and ours at the hour of this prayer and correct our belly to Your commandments, sanctify our souls, cleanse our bodies, correct our thoughts, cleanse our thoughts: and deliver us from all sorrow, evil and disease: protect us with Your saints Angles, and by their militia we observe and instruct Let us reach into the union of faith and into the mind your unapproachable glory: for blessed art thou unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Lord have mercy. (3)

Glory, even now: The most honorable cherub, and the most glorious without comparison, the seraphim, who without corruption gave birth to God the Word, we magnify you as the real Mother of God.

Bless in the name of the Lord, father.

Priest: God, be merciful to us, and bless us, make Thy face shine upon us, and have mercy on us.

Otherwise, say: Through the prayers of the saints, our fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us.

And if there is Alleluia, we make three great bows, saying this prayer secretly of St. Ephraim, dividing it into three parts:

Lord and Master of my life, do not give me the spirit of idleness, despondency, covetousness and idle talk. Bow.

Grant me the spirit of chastity, humility, patience and love to Thy servant. Bow.

To her, Lord the King, grant me to see my sins, and not to condemn my brother, for blessed art thou unto the ages of ages. Amen. Bow.

The same little 12, saying to each bow: God, cleanse me, a sinner.

And follow this prayer: Lord and Master of my life: to the end: forever and ever. Amen. And one great bow.

The same prayer: Master God, Father Almighty, Lord, only begotten Son Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit, one Divinity, one power, have mercy on me, a sinner: and in Your destinies, save me, Thy unworthy servant, for blessed art Thou unto the ages of ages, Amen.

If there is no Alleluia, it is left: Lord and Master of my life: and bows, and we only say: Master God, Father Almighty: and these prayers, St. Basil the Great:

It is appropriate to know that these prayers are said from the 22nd September of the month until the week of Vai.

Lord Almighty, God of hosts and all flesh, living in the highest, and looking upon the humble, testing the hearts and wombs, and the hidden reality of man, foreknowledge, beginningless and everlasting light, there is no change, or change of overshadowing: you yourself, immortal to the king, accept Our prayers, even at the present time, boldly for the multitude of Your bounties, We make from filthy lips to You, and forgive us our sins, whether we have sinned in deed, word, or thought, knowledge or ignorance, and cleanse us from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit: and grant us with a cheerful heart and a sober mind to pass through the whole night of this present life, awaiting the coming of the bright and revealed day, your only begotten Son, Lord and God and our Savior Jesus Christ: the judge of all will come with glory, to whom to reward according to his deeds , may we not fall and become lazy, but be awake and lifted up in the work that is to come, and prepare for the joy of the divine palace of His glory, where we celebrate the unceasing voice, and the ineffable sweetness of those who see Your face, the ineffable kindness: For You are the true light, enlighten and sanctify everything, and all creation sings to You forever and ever. Amen.

We bless you, O highest God and Lord of mercy, who always does great and unexplored, glorious and terrible things to us, countless in number, giving us sleep for the repose of our weakness, and the weakening of the labors of the arduous flesh. We thank Thee, for Thou didst not destroy us with our iniquities: but Thou didst usually love mankind, and in despair, Thou didst raise us up to glorify Thy power. We also pray for Your immeasurable goodness, enlighten our thoughts, our eyes, and raise our minds from the heavy sleep of laziness: open our lips and fill Your praise, so that we can unwaveringly sing and confess to You in all, and from all to the glorified God, the beginningless Father , with Your only begotten Son, and Your all-holy and good life-giving spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages, Amen.

Also, Come, let us bow: three times.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains, and from here my help will come. My help comes from the Lord, who created heaven and earth. Do not let your feet fall into confusion, keep you below to slumber. Behold, he will not sleep; the guardian of Israel will fall asleep. The Lord will protect you, the Lord will cover your right hand. During the days the sun will not burn you, but the moon will not burn you at night. The Lord will preserve you from all evil, the Lord will preserve your soul. The Lord will preserve your coming in and your going out from now and forever.

Behold, now bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who stand in the temple of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God. At night, lift up your hands in holiness, and bless the Lord. The Lord will bless you from Zion, having created heaven and earth.

Trisagion. Holy Trinity: And according to Our Father: For Thine is the kingdom:

And this troparion, voice 2:

Remember, Lord, how good Thy servants are, and if you have sinned in life, forgive: no one is sinless, only You are able to give peace to those who have passed away.

With the depth of wisdom, build everything humanely, and give what is useful to everyone, the only creator, rest, O Lord, the souls of Your servant: for I have placed my trust in You, the creator and builder and our God.

Glory, kontakion: Rest with the saints, O Christ, the souls of Thy servant, where there is no sickness, no sorrow, no sighing, but endless life.

And now, the Mother of God: Blessed are all of you, O virgin Mother of God: for the inconceivable Christ our God was pleased to be contained in you. Blessed are we too, who have intercession for you: pray for us day and night, and the sceptres of the kingdom are confirmed by your prayers. Thus we cry out to you: Rejoice, full of grace, the Lord is with you.

Lord have mercy. (12)

Remember, Lord, in the hope of resurrection, eternal life, our departed fathers and brethren, and all those who passed away in piety and faith, and forgive them every sin, voluntary or involuntary, in word or deed, or thought, committed by them: and brought me to a place of light , to a place of coolness, to a place of peace, from where all sickness, sorrow and sighing have fled, where the light of Thy face is present, and all Thy saints from all eternity rejoice: grant to them and to us Thy kingdom, and the communion of Thy ineffable and eternal blessings, and Thy endless blessings and blissful life enjoyment. For Thou art the life, and the resurrection, and the rest of Thy fallen servants, O Christ our God, and to Thee we ascribe glory, with Thy beginningless Father, and Thy most holy and good and life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages, Amen.

Glorious Ever-Virgin, Mother of Christ God, offer our prayer to Your Son and our God, may You save our souls.

My hope is the Father, my refuge is the Son, my protection is the Holy Spirit, Holy Trinity, glory to You.

Priest: Glory to Thee, Christ our God, our hope, glory to Thee.

And we: Glory, and now: Lord, have mercy. (3) . Bless.

The priest dismissed: Christ our true God, through the prayers of his most pure Mother, our reverend and God-bearing fathers, and all the saints, will have mercy and save us, for he is good and a lover of mankind.

After the dismissal, the priest worships the brethren, saying: Bless, holy fathers and brethren, and forgive me the sinner who has sinned this day in deed, word, thought and with all my feelings.

The brothers answer: May God forgive you and have mercy on you, Holy Father.

And they perform worship, saying this forgiveness: Bless me, Holy Father, and forgive me, if I have sinned this day in deed, word, thought and with all my feelings, and pray for me, a sinner.

The priest answers: With His grace, may God forgive and have mercy on all of us.

And the priest says: Let us pray for our most holy lord, the universal Hierarch, the name of the rivers, Pope Rimstem, and for our lord, the Metropolitan (or Archbishop, or Bishop), our name of the rivers, whose region is, and all our brethren in Christ.

Lik: Lord, have mercy.

Lik: Lord, have mercy. (3) .

Through the prayers of the saints, our fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us.

It is appropriate to know that according to the holy mountain of Athos, according to the Remembrance, Lord: these troparia say:

Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us: being perplexed by any answer, we offer this prayer to You as the Master of sins: have mercy on us.

Glory: Lord, have mercy on us, for we trust in You, do not be angry with us, do not remember our iniquities, but look upon us even now as you are gracious, and deliver us from our enemies: for You are our God and we are Your people, all works are handicraft Yours, and we call on Your name.

And now: Open the doors of Mercy to us, blessed Mother of God, who trust in you, so that we may not perish, but may we be delivered from troubles by you: for you are the salvation of the Christian race.

Then the priest litany: Have mercy on us, O God, according to Your great mercy, we pray, hear and have mercy.

Lik: Lord, have mercy. (three times).

We also pray for the preservation of this city (or this village), and this holy temple (even in the monastery: this holy monastery), and every city, and country, from famine, destruction, cowardice, flood, fire, sword, invasion of foreigners , and internecine warfare: O be merciful and kind to our good and man-loving God, turn away all anger towards us, and deliver us from our due and righteous rebuke, and have mercy on us.

Lik: Lord, have mercy. (40).

Exclamation: Hear us, O God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth, and of those who are in the sea far away: and be merciful, merciful, O Master, for our sins, and have mercy on us. For You are a merciful and lover of mankind, and we send up glory to You, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages.

Encourage believers to be always ready for the day of the last Last Judgment, which may come like a bridegroom at midnight; 3.

SEQUENCE OF THE MIDNIGHT OFFICE

MIDNIGHT SATURDAY

The priest says: Blessed be our God: And we say: Amen. Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee. To the Heavenly King: Trisagion: Most Holy Trinity: Our Father: Priest: For Thine is the kingdom: We: Amen. Also, Lord, have mercy. (12)

Glory, even now.

Come, let us worship our king God.
Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ our King God.
Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ himself, the king and our God.

Also Psalm 50

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your mercies, cleanse my iniquity. Above all, wash me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my iniquity, and I will take away my sin before me. You alone have sinned and done evil before You: so that You may be justified in Your words and overcome Your judgment. Behold, I was conceived in iniquity, and my mother gave birth to me in sins. You have loved the truth; you have revealed to me the unknown and secret wisdom of Yours. Sprinkle me with hyssop and I will be cleansed; I will wash my name, and I will be whiter than snow.

According to Psalm 50, Kathisma 9.

A song is due to you, O God, in Zion, and prayer will be given to you in Jerusalem. Hear my prayer, all my flesh will come to you. The lawless one has overcome us with words, and you have cleansed our wickedness. Blessed is he whom thou hast chosen and accepted, shall dwell in thy courts: let us be filled with the good of thy house: holy is thy temple, wondrous in righteousness: hear us, O God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are far off in the sea: Thou hast prepared the mountains with thy strength, girded with strength. Confusing the depths of the sea, who can stand the sound of its waves; the nations will be troubled, and those who dwell in the ends will fear because of your signs: you will decorate the outcome of the morning and evening. Thou hast visited the earth, and thou hast made it drunken; Rejoice in her reins, multiply her life: in her drops she will rejoice, shining. Bless the crown of summer of your goodness, and your fields will be filled with fatness. The red deserts will grow dry, and the hills will girdle with joy. The rams are clothed, and the harvest will multiply the wheat: they will cry, for they will sing.

Shout to the Lord, all the earth, sing to his name, give glory to his praise. Shout to God: since your deeds are terrible, in the abundance of your strength your enemies will lie to you. Let all the earth bow down to you and sing to you, and sing to your name, O Most High. Come and see the works of God, since he is more terrible in council than the sons of men. Turning the sea into dry land, they will walk in the river with their feet: there we will rejoice in him, who rules over the world with his power: his eyes look upon the tongues: let not those who are grieving exalt themselves. Bless the Gentiles of our God, and let the voice of his praise be heard: He who put my soul in my belly, and did not let my feet become troubled. For you have tempted us, O God, you have kindled us as silver is liquified. You brought us into the light; you placed sorrow on our backbone. Thou hast raised up men upon our heads: by dying through fire and water, and thou hast brought us to rest. I will go into your house with a burnt offering: I will reward you with my prayers, which my mouth has spoken, and my lips have spoken in my affliction. I will offer you fat burnt offerings with censer and rams, I will offer you oxen with goats. Come, hear, and I will tell you, all who fear God, create greatness for my soul. In it I cried with my mouth, and was lifted up under my tongue. If I see untruth in my heart, may the Lord not hear me. For this reason, God heard me and listened to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, who has not forsaken my prayer and His mercy from me.

God, be merciful to us and bless us, enlighten your face on us, and have mercy on us: Know your way on earth, your salvation is in all nations. Let people confess to you, God, let all people confess to you. Let the pagans rejoice and rejoice, for you judge people with righteousness, and guide the tongues of the earth. Let people confess to you, God, let all people confess to you. The earth has given its fruit: bless us, O God, our God: Bless us, O God, and may all the ends of the earth fear him.

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. Glory to You, God. Three times.
Lord, have mercy. (3) Glory, even now. Amen.

May God rise again, and may his enemies be scattered, and may those who hate him flee from his face. As smoke disappears, let them disappear, as wax melts from the face of fire, so let sinners perish from the face of God. And let the righteous rejoice: let them rejoice before God, let them enjoy themselves in joy. Sing to God, sing to his name, create a path for him who has ascended to the west: the Lord is his name, and rejoice before him. May God, the father of the orphans and the judge of widows, be dismayed at his presence in his holy place. God brings like-minded people into the house, destroying those who are bound by courage, and those who are also grieving and living in tombs. God, you never go before your people, you never pass by in the desert: The earth shook, for the heavens were destroyed from the presence of the God of Sin, from the presence of the God of Israel. The rain is free to separate, O God, from your inheritance, and is exhausted: you have done it. Your animal lives on it: you have prepared your goodness for the poor, O God. The Lord will give the word to those who preach the gospel with much power. The king of the beloved, with the beauty of the house, divide the selfishness. If you sleep in the middle of the limit, the krill of the dove is covered with silver, and its interspace is in the glitter of gold. The heavenly kings will always be separated from each other, and they will snow in Selmon. The mountain of God, the fat mountain: the strewn mountain, the fat mountain. You never feel the strewn mountains; mountain, where God is pleased to live in it: for the Lord rejoices to the end. The chariot of God is tmami mem, thousands of gob-hungers: the Lord is in them in Sinai in the holy place. Thou hast ascended to the heights, thou hast taken captivity captive: thou hast accepted gifts from men, for those who do not repent cannot dwell. Blessed is the Lord God, blessed is the Lord day by day: God will hasten our salvation. Our God, the God of salvation: and the Lord’s day, the Lord’s death, came forth. Otherwise, God will crush the heads of his enemies, the top of the powers that pass away in their sins. The Lord said: I will convert from Bashan, I will convert in the depths of the sea. For let your foot be drenched in blood, and your tongue from your enemy from him. I have seen your processions, O God, the processions of my God, the king, who is holy. The princes are present near the singers, in the midst of the tympanic virgins. In the churches, bless God, the Lord from the fountain of Israel. There, the youngest Benjamin is in horror, the princes of Judah and their rulers, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali. Commandment, O God, by your power, strengthen, O God, this which you have done in us. From your temple in Jerusalem, the king's gifts will be brought to you. Forbid with the beast of reed: the host of youths among the youths of men, who shall shut up the tempted ones with silver: scatter the tongues of those who desire to curse. Women of prayer will come from Egypt, Ethiopia will advance her hand to God. Kingdoms of the earth, sing to God, sing to the Lord, who has ascended to heaven in the east: behold, he will give his voice the voice of power. Give glory to God, upon Israel his splendor, and his power upon the clouds. God is marvelous in his saints, the God of Israel: he will give strength and dominion to his people: blessed be God.

Glory to the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. Glory to Thee, O God. Three times.
Lord have mercy.(3) Glory, even now. Amen.

Save me, O God, as water came down to my soul. The coal miner is in the darkness of the depths, and there is no constancy: I breathed into the depths of the sea, and the storm drowned me. My voice has grown weary, my throat has become silent: my eyes have disappeared from my hope in my God. Having increased more than the power of my head, the tuna that hates me: my enemies who have driven me out unjustly have become stronger; God, you have taken away my madness, and my sins have not been hidden from you. Let not those who bear with you be ashamed for my sake, O Lord, Lord of hosts; let not those who have for me be ashamed for you, O God of Israel. Because for your sake I have endured reproach, covering my face with shame. Strange to my brethren, and strange to my son's mother. For jealousy of your house has consumed me, and the reproaches of those who reproach you have attacked me. And he covered my soul with fasting, and it became a reproach to me. And I put on my garment sackcloth, and became a parable to them. Those who sit in the gates mock at me, and those who drink wine mock at me. But my prayer is to you, O God: time of favor, O God: in the abundance of your mercy, hear me, in the truth of your salvation. Save me from the clay, that I may not drown: that I may be delivered from those who hate me, and from the deep waters. Let no storm of water drown me, let the depth below devour me, let the peer of his mouth bring his lips about me. Hear me, Lord, for your mercy is good: according to the multitude of your mercies, look upon me. Do not turn your face away from your child, for I am grieving; hear me soon. Take my soul, and deliver me: for the sake of my enemy, deliver me. For you weigh my reproach, and my coldness, and my shame: before you are all those who insult me. My soul and passion longed for something, and I waited for something that grieved me, and I didn’t find it, and I didn’t find it to console me. And you gave me bile for my food, and I gave my father something to drink for my thirst. Let their table be a snare before them, and a reward, and a temptation. Let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and let their backs be cut off. Pour out thy wrath upon her, and let the fury of thy wrath be upon them. Let their courtyard be empty, and let there be no living thing in their dwellings. You have already struck him down, driven him away, and added them to my sickness and ulcers. Add iniquity to their iniquity, and let them not enter into your righteousness. Let the books of the living be consumed, and not be written with the righteous. I am poor and sick, let your salvation, O God, receive me. I will praise the name of my God with song, I will magnify him in praise: And God will be more pleased with a young calf that wears horns and claws. Let the poor see and rejoice: seek God, and your soul will live. For when the poor Lord hears, do not despise your own chains. May heaven and earth, the sea and all that live in it, praise him. For God will save Zion, and the cities of Judah will be created: and they will rejoice there, and they will inherit. And the seed of thy servants shall restrain him, and he that loveth thy name shall dwell in him.

God, come to my help: Lord, strive to help me. Let those who seek my soul be ashamed and put to shame; let those who wish evil against me turn back and be ashamed. Let those who are ashamed return and say to us: better, better. Let all those who seek you, O God, rejoice and rejoice in you; and let them say, “May the Lord be magnified who love your salvation.” But I am poor and needy, God, help me: you are my helper and my deliverer, Lord, do not become stubborn.

Glory, and now: And Abiye: I believe in one God: Same Trisagion: Most Holy Trinity: Our Father: For Thine is the kingdom:

And this troparion, voice 2:

Uncreated nature, the creator of all, open our lips, so that we may proclaim Your praise, crying out: holy, holy, holy art thou, O God, have mercy on us through the Mother of God.

Glory: Imitating the power above on earth, we bring a victorious song to You, the blessed one: holy, holy, holy art thou, O God, through the Mother of God have mercy on us.

And now: From bed and sleep you have raised me up, O Lord, my mind and heart, and open my lips, to sing to You, Holy Trinity: holy, holy, holy, O God, have mercy on us through the Theotokos.

Also: Lord, have mercy. (40)

And this prayer:

Who at all times and at every hour, in heaven and on earth, is worshiped and glorified, Christ God, long-suffering, abundantly merciful, abundantly gracious, who loves the righteous and has mercy on sinners, who calls everyone to salvation, promises for the sake of future blessings: Himself, Lord, accept and ours at the hour of this prayer and correct our belly to Thy commandments, sanctify our souls, cleanse our bodies, correct our thoughts, cleanse our thoughts: and deliver us from all sorrow, evil and disease: protect us with Your saints Angles, so that by observing them we may be instructed to achieve in the unity of faith and in the mind of your unapproachable glory: for blessed art thou unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Lord have mercy.(3)

Glory, even now: The most honorable cherub, and the most glorious without comparison, the seraphim, who gave birth to God the Word without corruption, we magnify you as the real Mother of God.

Bless in the name of the Lord, father.

Priest: God, be merciful to us, and bless us, make Your face shine upon us, and have mercy on us.

Otherwise, say: Through the prayers of the saints, our fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us.
We: Amen.

Master God, Father Almighty, Lord, only begotten Son Jesus Christ, and Holy Soul, one Divinity, one power, have mercy on me, a sinner: and in Your destinies, save me, Thy unworthy servant, for blessed art Thou unto the ages of ages, Amen.

And the real prayer of St. Eustratius.

I magnify You, O Lord, for You have respected my humility, and have shut me up in the hands of the enemy: but You have saved my soul from need. And now, Master, may Thy hand cover me, and may Thy mercy come upon me: for my soul is troubled and painful in its departure from my cursed body and this foul body. Yes, not when the evil adversary will destroy the council and punish me in the darkness, for the unknown and known sins of my life. Be merciful to me, Master, and may my soul not see the dark gaze of wicked demons: but may Your bright and most bright angels receive me. Give glory to Your holy name, and by Your power lead me to Thy divine judgment Always sit with me, so that the hand of the prince of this world will not accept me, so as to tear me out, a sinner, into the depths of hell: but stand before me, and be my saver and intercessor, this bodily torment of joy is Thy servant. Have mercy, Lord, on my soul, defiled by the passions of this life, and accept it pure through repentance and confession, for blessed are you forever and ever, amen.

Also: Come, let us bow three times, and sing:

Psalm 120

I lift up my eyes to the mountains, and from here my help will come. My help comes from the Lord, who created heaven and earth. Do not let your feet fall into confusion, keep you below to slumber. Behold, he will not sleep; the guardian of Israel will fall asleep. The Lord will protect you, the Lord will cover your right hand. During the days the sun will not burn you, but the moon will not burn you at night. The Lord will preserve you from all evil, the Lord will preserve your soul. The Lord will preserve your coming in and your going out from now and forever.

Psalm 133

Behold, now bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who stand in the temple of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God. At night, lift up your hands in holiness, and bless the Lord. The Lord will bless you from Zion, having created heaven and earth.

Glory, and now:

Trisagion. Most Holy Trinity: Our Father: For Thine is the Kingdom: And troparia: Remember, Lord, how good it is: With the depth of wisdom:
Glory: Rest with the saints, Christ:
And now: We all bless you, O Virgin Mother of God:

Lord have mercy.(12)

Remember, Lord, in the hope of resurrection:
And so on. All this was written in the daily midnight office.

Release from the priesthood, and forgiveness.

As usual, we begin with the verb with tenderness and contrition of heart:

For the prayers of the saints, our father, Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us (bow). Amen.

Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee for everyone's sake (three times).

God, cleanse me, a sinner, for I have done no good before You. (bow), but deliver me from evil, and Thy will be done in me (bow), May I open my unworthy lips without condemnation, and praise Your holy name, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages, amen (bow).

Heavenly King, Comforter, True Soul, who is everywhere and fulfills everything, the treasure of good things, and the Giver of life, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us from all filth, and save our blessed soul.

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us (three times, and three bows).

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages, amen.

Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. Lord, cleanse our sins. Master, forgive our iniquities. Saints, visit and heal our infirmities; for Thy name's sake.

Lord have mercy (three times).Glory, even now.

Our Father, who art in heaven; Hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done, as in heaven and on earth, give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, just as we forgive our debtors; and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us. Amen.

Lord have mercy (12 ).

Posikh, prayer: Having risen from sleep, I thank Thee, All-Holy Trinity, for for the sake of many, for the sake of kindness and long-suffering, Thou hast not been angry with me, a sinner, and Thy lazy servant, and Thou hast not destroyed me with my iniquities, but the love of mankind, and lying in hopelessness, raised me up to exercise and glorify Your invincible power; and now, Master God of the Most Holy, enlighten the eyes of my heart, and open my lips to learn Thy words, and understand Thy commandments, and do Thy will, and sing to Thee in confession of the heart, and sing and glorify Thy most honorable and magnificent name: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages, amen.

Come, let us worship our King God (bow).

Come, let us worship Christ, the King and our God (bow).

Come, let us worship and fall before the Lord Jesus Christ himself, the King and our God (bow).

Also, Psalm 50. God have mercy on me.

According to the fiftieth psalm we say kathisma 17.

Psalm 118.

Blessed are the blameless ones who walk in the law of the Lord. Blessed are those who experience His witness; they will seek Him with all their hearts. Those who do not do iniquity walk in His ways. You are a commandment to keep Your commandments strictly. Food, my ways were corrected; Thy justifications may be preserved. Then I will not be ashamed when I consider all Your commandments. Let us confess to You in the righteousness of our hearts, always learning the destinies of Your righteousness. I will keep Your excuses, do not leave me to the bitter end. Whenever he will correct his path, he will always keep Your words. With all my heart I seek You, do not turn me away from Your commandments. I hide Your words in my heart, so that I may not sin against You. Blessed art thou, Lord, teach me by thy justification. My mouth proclaimed all the destinies of Your mouth. On the way, we have enjoyed Your meetings, like all riches. I will mock Your commandments, and understand Your ways. I will learn from Your justifications; I will not forget Your words. Reward Your servant, live me, and I will keep Your words. Open my eyes, and I understand the wonders of Your law. I am a stranger on earth, do not hide Your commandments from me. Love my soul to desire Your destiny at all times. Thou hast rebuked the proud, cursing those who turn aside from Thy commandments. Take away from me diarrhea and humiliation, as I have witnessed Your demands. For the princes are gray and slander me, and Thy servant mocks Thy justifications. For Thy testimonies are my teaching, and Thy counsels my justifications. Cling to the earth, my soul, live according to Your word. Confess my ways, and hear me, teach me by Your justification. Instruct me in the ways of Thy justification, and I will mock at Thy wonders. My soul has fallen asleep from despondency, strengthen me in Your words. Leave the path of unrighteousness from me, and have mercy on me with Your law. I have chosen the true path, and I have not forgotten Your destiny. I cleave to Thy testimony, Lord, do not disgrace me. The path of Your commandments flowed when You enlarged my heart. Lay down for me, Lord, the way of Your righteousness, and I will seek and take away. Give me understanding, and I will try Your law, and I will keep it with all my heart. Guide me on the path of Your commandments, as I have desired. Incline my heart to Thy testimonies, and not to covetousness. Turn away my eyes from seeing vanity; live me in Your way. Make Thy servant Thy word to fear. Take away my reproach, even if it were not yours, as if Yours were good. Behold, I have desired Your commandments; live in Your righteousness. And may Thy mercy come upon me, Lord, Thy salvation according to Thy word. And I answer those who reproach my word, because I have trusted in Your words. And do not take away from my lips the words that are truly true, for I trust in Your fate. And I will keep Your law always: for ever and ever. And I walked in breadth, because I sought Your commandments. And speak of Thy testimonies before the kings, and do not be ashamed. And I learned in Your commandments, and I loved them dearly. And I lifted up my hands to Thy commandments, and loved them, and mocked at Thy justifications. Remember Your words to Your servant, whose hope You have given to me. So console me in my humility, for Your word lives on me. Pride is a great transgressor of the law, but I have not deviated from Your law. I have remembered Your destiny from eternity, Lord, and have been comforted. I have received sorrow from sinners who forsake Thy law. Peta bahhu your justifications for me, at the place of my coming. I will remember Your name, Lord, in the night, and keep Your law. Come to me, as if I were justified by Your demands. Thou art my part, Lord, reh: preserve Thy law. I prayed to Your face with all my heart, have mercy on me according to Your word. I have thought about Your ways, and returned my nose to Your witness. Let us prepare ourselves and not be embarrassed to keep Your commandments. The southern sinner has pledged itself to me, and has not forgotten Your law. I rose at midnight to confess to You the fate of Your righteousness. I am a partaker of all those who fear You and keep Your commandments. O Lord, fill the earth with Thy mercy; teach me with Thy justification. Thou hast done kindness to Thy servant, Lord, according to Thy word. Teach me kindness and punishment and reason, as in Thy commandments of faith. Before I did not even humble myself, I have sinned, for this reason I have preserved Your word. Thou art good, Lord, and by Thy goodness teach me by Thy justification. The iniquity of the proud has multiplied against me, but with all my heart I will test Your commandments. Their hearts are as soft as milk, but they have learned Your law. It is good for me, for You have humbled me, so that I may learn through Your justification. The law of Your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver.

Thy hands make me, and create me; give me understanding, and I will test Thy commandments. Those who fear You will see me and rejoice, because they trust in Your words. I understood, Lord, that Thy commandments are true, and Thou hast truly humbled me. Be Thy mercy, that Thy servant may comfort me according to Thy word. May Thy compassions come to me and I will live, for Thy law is my teaching. Let the pride be ashamed, for without righteousness you have committed iniquity against me, but I will learn in Your commandments. Let those who fear You and those who know Your testimonies convert me. May my heart be blameless in Your justifications, so that I will not be put to shame. My soul disappears into Your salvation, I trust in Your word. My eyes were lost in Your words when You comforted me; As if I were like fur on the slate, I have not forgotten Your justification. How long is the day of Thy servant, when Thou wilt execute judgment against them that persecute me; The lawbreakers have told me mockery, but not like Thy law, O Lord. All Your commandments are true, help me by driving me without righteousness. My time on earth is small, but I have not forsaken Thy commandments. Live for me according to Thy mercy, and I will preserve the testimonies of Thy mouth. Forever, Lord, Your word remains in heaven. Thy truth forever and ever. You founded the earth and remain. The day endures through Your teaching, for all kinds of work are done by You. For if my teaching were not Your law, then I would have perished in my humility. I will never forget Your justifications, for You lived me in them.
Thine am I, save me, for the justification of Thy demands. I was waiting for the sinner to destroy me. I understood Your meetings. I have seen the end of every death; Your commandment is wide. Since I have loved Your law, Lord, I have my teaching all day long. Thou hast made me wiser than my enemy through Thy commandment, even as I am forever. More than all those who taught me, I understood that Your testimonies are my teaching. Moreover, the elder understood that I have sought Your commandments. I have forbidden my feet from every evil way, so that I may keep Your words. I have not departed from Your destinies, as You have laid down the law for me. How sweet is Your word to my throat; more than honey in my mouth. I understood from Your commandments, and for this reason I hated every way of unrighteousness. Your law is a lamp for my feet, and a light for my paths. I swore and swore to preserve the fate of Your righteousness. Humble yourself to the point, Lord, live me according to Your word. Lord, favor the freedom of my lips, and teach me Your destinies. I will take my soul into Your hand, and I will not forget Your law. The sinners have laid a net for me, and from Your commandments they will not go astray. I have inherited Your testimonies forever, for the joy of my heart is the essence. I turned my heart to create Thy justifications, forever for reward. I have hated the lawbreakers, but I have loved Your law. You are my helper and my protector; I trust in your words. Turn away from me, you wicked ones, and I will test the commandments of my God. Intercede for me according to Your word, and I will live, and do not disgrace me because of my hope. Help me and I will be saved, and I will learn from Your justifications. Thou hast destroyed all who depart from Thy justification, for their thoughts are unrighteous. Transgressing all the sinners of the earth, for this sake I have loved Your witness. Nail my flesh from Thy fear, for I am afraid of Thy judgments. Having created justice and righteousness, do not betray me to those who offend me. Consider Thy servant for good, so that pride does not slander me. My eyes disappear into Your salvation and into the word of Your righteousness. Do with Thy servant according to Thy mercy, and teach me Thy destinies. I am Thy servant; give me understanding, and I will learn by Thy testimony. It is time to do the Lord, destroying Your law. For this reason I have loved Your commandments more than gold and topaz. For this reason, I was guided by all Your commandments, and I hated every path of unrighteousness. Wonderful is Your testimony, for this sake I will test my soul. The manifestation of Your words enlightens and instructs the child. My mouth was opened and my spirit was suppressed, because I desired Your commandments.

Glory, even now. Alleluia, Alleluia, glory to You God (three times). Lord have mercy (three times). Glory, even now.

Look upon me and have mercy on me, according to the judgment of those who love Your name. Direct my steps according to Thy word, and let not all iniquity overcome me. Deliver me from human slander, and I will keep Your commandments. Make Thy face shine upon Thy servant, and teach me Thy justification. My eyes have known the source of the waters; I have not yet kept Your law. Thou art righteous, Lord, and Thy judges rule. Your commandments are truthful, and truthful. Thy pity has faded away from me, as though Thy words have forgotten my enemies. Thy word has been kindled, and Thy servant has been loved. I am a young man and humbled, I have not forgotten Thy justifications. Your righteousness is righteousness forever, and your law is truth. Sorrows and needs have come upon me, Your commandments are my teaching. The truth of Your testimony endures forever; give me understanding and I will live. I cry out with all my heart, hear me, Lord, I will seek Your righteousness. I called upon You, save me and I will preserve Your testimonies. I preceded you in hopelessness and lamentation, trusting in Your words. Prepare my eyes for the morning, to learn from Your words. Hear my voice, Lord, live for me according to Your mercy and according to Your destiny. Having brought near those who persecute me iniquity, I have departed from Your law. You are near, Lord, and all Your ways are true. From the beginning I knew from Your testimony that I founded the age. See my humility and forgive me, for I have not forgotten Your law. Judge my judgment and deliver me; live according to Your word. Salvation is far from the sinner, for I have not sought Your justification. Thy bounty is many, Lord, live for me according to Thy destiny. The many who drive me out and persecute me do not shy away from Your witness. I saw that I did not understand, and I fell away, because I did not keep Your words. See that I have loved Your commandments, Lord, live for me according to Your mercy. The beginning of Thy words is truth, and throughout the age of Thy righteousness the judgments will continue. The princes have driven me into obscurity, and my heart has been frightened by Your words. I will rejoice in Your words, as I have gained much gain. I have hated injustice and been loathed by me, but I have loved Your law. During the week of the week we praise You, about the destinies of Your righteousness. There is peace for many who love Your law, and there is no temptation for them. I have longed for Thy salvation, Lord, and have loved Thy commandments. Preserve Your testimonies, my soul, and I will love you dearly. I have kept Your commandments and Your testimonies, for all my ways are before You, O Lord. May my prayer come closer to You, Lord; give me understanding according to Your word. May my petition come before You, Lord; deliver me according to Your word. My lips will burst forth with song, when Thou teachest me Thy justification. My tongue proclaims Your words, for all Your commandments are true. Let Thy hand save me, as I have willed Thy commandments. I have desired Your salvation, Lord, and Your law is my teaching. My soul will live and praise You, and Your fate will help me. I have gone astray, like a lost sheep, seek Thy servant, for I have not forgotten Thy commandments.

Glory, even now, without Alleluia. Also, confession of the Orthodox faith. I believe in one God.

Trisagion. AND according to Our Father.

This Troparion, tone 8: Behold, the Bridegroom comes at midnight, and blessed is the servant; he will be found vigilant.

Glory. It is a terrible day and think about my soul, burning your candle and illuminating with oil, for fear not when a voice comes to you saying: Behold the Bridegroom.

Lord have mercy (40 ).

The same prayer of Great Vasily: And at all times, and at every hour, in heaven and on earth, worshiped and glorified, the Good God, long-suffering and abundantly merciful; Those who are righteous love and have mercy on sinners; Calls to salvation for all, promises for future benefits; Lord Himself, accept our prayers at this hour, and correct our belly in goodness, to Your commandments. Sanctify our soul, and cleanse our bodies, correct our thoughts, and cleanse our thoughts, make our minds chaste and sober, and deliver us from all sorrow, evil and illness, and spiritual passions, and protect us with your holy angels, as if by their army we are observed and instructed, Let us achieve the unity of faith and the inviolable glory of You, for blessed are You forever, Amen.

Also, Lord have mercy (three times). Glory, even now.

We magnify You, the most honorable cherub, and the most glorious seraphim, who gave birth to God the Word without corruption. And bow.

Bless in the name of the Lord, father.

For the prayers of the saints, our father, Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us. Amen.

Whenever there is fasting, or apart from fasting, we always sing Alleluia and make three great prostrations, saying the prayer of St. Ephraim.

Lord and Master of my belly, the spirit of despondency, neglect, love of money and idle talk, drive away from me (bow).

The spirit of chastity, humility, patience and love, which I have bestowed upon Thy servant (bow).

To her, Lord the King, grant me to see my sins, and not to condemn my brother, for blessed art thou forever, amen (bow). And 12 other bows, saying within:

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner (twice with bows).

God, be merciful to me, a sinner (bow).

God, cleanse my sins and have mercy on me (bow).

Creator of me, Lord, have mercy (bow).

Without number of sinners, Lord, forgive me (bow).

And having finished bowing again, we say the entire prayer I write above: Lord and Master of my life. And one bow.

And after saying the prayer, or after The most honest cherub, let's say this prayer Great Vasily:

Master God, Father Almighty, and Lord the Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Soul, one Divinity, and one power, have mercy on me, a sinner, and through your destinies, save me, Thy unworthy servant, for blessed art Thou forever, amen.

Also, come, let’s worship (three times). And three bows.

Psalm 120. I lift up my eyes to the mountains, and from here my help will come. My help comes from the Lord, who created heaven and earth.

Psalm 133. Behold, now bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who stand in the temple of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God. At night, lift up your hands in holiness, and bless the Lord. The Lord will bless you from Zion, having created heaven and earth.

Glory, even now. Trisagion, and three bows. According to Our Father, this troparion:

Remember, Lord, how good Your servants are, and if you have sinned in this life, forgive me. No one is without sin, only You can give peace to the departed.

Through the depths of wisdom, loving all things, and giving to the benefit of all, the only Creator, rest, Lord, the soul of His departed servants, who have placed their trust in You, Creator and Maker and our God.

Glory. With the saints is peace, O Christ, the soul of His servant, where there is no sickness, no sorrow, no sighing, but life. eternal.
